Mackenzie Steele assumed she’d be with her husband forever. He’s still her best friend and the father of her children. But when weeks turn into months without intimacy, she realizes she’s too young to feel so old. She wants to feel desirable again, to find the woman Ryker fell in love with twenty years ago. And there’s only one way to do that… by asking him to move out. Ryker’s blindsided when … when his wife tells him she wants to separate. He knew they’d hit a rough patch, but he’d never allowed himself to imagine his life without her. Now he has no choice. She seems happy without him, living life on her own terms, and he knows if he doesn’t find a place for himself in her new life, it will be too late to save his marriage.

This is another great read from this author. This time it is about second chances. This is a common enough occurrence in married life when a couple drifts apart and loses their priorities as they are overwhelmed with raising their children, trying to attain financial stability and unknowingly take each other for granted. This novel also teaches us a lesson and reminder how to cherish our spouses and the secret to a long , happy married life. The way the author narrates this seemingly simple every day family life and let the story unfold is another proof that she is a great storyteller and keeps your interest all through the end of he novel.
This book was ok. I felt like it was a little drawn out. Wanted the story line to move a long a little quicker.
Great book
I enjoyed reading this book as the characters are relatable; Mackenzie and Ryker have been married for a while with two teenage boys, a business, etc. Mackenzie makes the decision they should separate to find herself, Ryker is shocked and the kids work together to make sure their parents don’t get divorced.
The perspectives of Mackenzie and Ryker are heart warming and funny especially when both Mackenzie’s girlfriend and Ryker’s brother throws in their two cents (the blind date made me cringe). This was an enjoyable read and I would recommend it.
Great quick and easy read. Characters or interesting; somewhat unpredictable and give credence to those few who should be considered heroes in our society–those people who were raised in a very poor setting and endeavor to better themselves for not only their good but the good of those around them. Congrats to the author
Great story about a couple who didn’t give up on true love!
Second chance romance to save a marriage. Good story.
How many couples are facing similar issues? Makes taking care of yourself first not sound selfish. Talk to each other. Share your thoughts and questions.
Good book didn’t want to put it down
Showed that marriage is hard work and not always a fairy tale. I did love that the characters worked it out.
One of the few books that deal with what happens after couple has married and lived through ups and downs of daily life. I loved it!
Yikes! As a stay at home mom/housewife with a successful husband this one hit close to home!! Well done capturing the issues that pop up in a marriage.
Loved the way this book began. It just went on for way to long.
I did not finish this book. It was just too BORING. What saved it from a 1 star rating was that the writing style was ok, and the characters predictable. I’d advise you skip this story, and find another to spend your reading time on.
A quick, fun read, typical light romance
2nd Chances
Ryker was once a biker but his wife MacKenzie and boys made him better, but after 20 years together she felt lost and he didn’t realize it. She asked him to move out. 6 months later they realise that they still love each other and need to work on their problems.
