RYANShe was perfect: Sweet, smart, awkwardly adorable, and beautiful as hell. The only problem was:she was terrified to leave her apartment. And, apparently, she had somehow gotten herself wrapped up with some pretty bad guys to boot.DUSTY He was perfect:He was a living, breathing, walking, talking statue come to life. But when would a man like that ever want to be with a woman who was too anxious … like that ever want to be with a woman who was too anxious to even walk into the hallway? Let alone go on a date with him. Or meet the family he was so close with.
That being said, he seemed interested for some reason.
So obviously, he was just as crazy as I was.
On top of that whole confusion situation, something was going on with my business partners. And things were about to go straight to hell…

Love the Mallick’s!!!! This book was so good! It touched on some interesting real life issues that aren’t talked about very often especially in books. I loved Ryan and Dusty! I thought they were a perfect match. Again another Jessica Gadziala book where we get some action and really fantastic steamy scenes. I’m so excited to read about Eli!!!
Ryan’s story was a bit sweeter than I expected and I loved it! From his meet-cute with Dusty, to his determination to be in her life, to her willingness to progress, I was a real sucker for this book.
It was great to see so many sides to Ryan. All I knew before was that he was the steady, stoic brother, the one who handled the books, managed the businesses, and was the least likely to have blood on his hands. To find that he was so much more than the sum of his parts made him even more amazing to me. What made me really love this book was the fact that I really liked Dusty. Loving both main characters made this such an easy read!
Dusty suffered from anxiety and agoraphobia and I feel that the author handled her struggles with tremendous sensitivity. It was shown in a way that anyone would be able to sympathize and/or empathize with her. It was beautifully done.
When Dusty finds herself in serious trouble, Ryan does what it seems like every Mallick man ends up doing – putting everything on the line to ensure his woman’s safety. He didn’t have to get his hands dirty like Shane did, and we got the chance to see some other characters from other books (looking at Lo and JStorm), giving this story the suspense I’ve come to expect from the series. And that epilogue??? Magnifique!! Does Bry end up getting his own book? He was a sweetheart and despite the mess of his life, he was an incredible friend. I’m still very ready for Eli’s book, but I’m off to really meet Mark, the ladies’ man.
Ryan wasn’t looking to settle down, he is a busy man who is wrapped up in his various jobs both legal and illegal. Ryan knows his neighbor is an agoraphobic but he has never gotten a glimpse of her until one night he does, he is stunned by what a beauty she is. He is curious about his neighbor, Dusty and wants to get to know her better but he is not sure how that is going to happen until he finds her getting beating in her apartment.
Dusty has found a way to live life in her apartment, she has not been outside in years. Although she has been working with a therapist she feels like her progress is minute. When she finds herself in trouble, Ryan sweeps in. She feels safe with Ryan and when Ryan says he wants to see where they go in a relationship sense, she is wanting to try but can she move past staying inside the walls she has kept herself protected in?
There is so much to this story that unfolds. I found this a page turner and was fascinated by Dusty. I liked the fact that her mental illness is a big focus in the story and does not magically go away. Ryan is so patient with her and he understands her. Wonderful and unique story.
5 Ryan Mallick Stars
First off Jessica can do no wrong in my eyes and with this book its not different. I fell in Love with this book from the first page and just couldn’t put it down. It was a love story through and through. I learnt a little about agoraphobia, It was interesting learning so much about this paralyzing condition. My eyes where very much opened!
Ryan is this amazing sweet guy from the start and I fell hard for him. Dusty is this sweetheart who is struggling through life the best way that she can. She wants all the things she feels she just can’t have. My heart broke for her at times. They are thrown together in crappy circumstances.
“He really hates his crate. Or, um, being told what to do at all. You know, being a cat overlord and everything.”
Ryan by Jessica Gadziala is a little softer then her previous books but we still get the action and excitement of her previous books.
This book can be read as a standalone if you wanted but I would highly recommend reading the previous books in the series as there all just as good as the other.
I need Eli’s story next, with every Mallick Brothers book he intrigues me more and more!
Fantastic read, loved Ryan and Dusty’s story actually I have enjoyed and love all the Mallick Brothers so far along with all the other Navesink Bank stories. Dusty is one strong woman and Ryan is so good with her.
Ryan is part of the Mallick family, and his father Charlie is a loan shark while Ryan acts as an enforcer on the odd occasion. Dusty is suffering from anxiety and agoraphobia.
When Ryan helps Dusty leave her apartment during a carbon monoxide alarm they both fall into each other. While there are certainly areas of suspense and danger, my favourite parts are seeing the whole Mallick family together and watching Helen be a complete bada$$.
Ms. Gadziala knows how to weave a story around a whole host of characters, and her epilogues are some of the best in the genre. Worth all the stars available!
Fantastic read! I loved Ryan & Dusty & the whole Mallick family! They definitely have an unconventional relationship, from their meeting to how they begin … dating. It’s not really even dating, they just have this instant connection & life throws some crazy things their way that they work through & discover… their comfort zone, their home.
There’s humor, action, steam, and a whole lotta heart! Plus, some fun banter, which you know is my favorite. LOVED IT!! : )
So happy that Eli got his story. Autumn is an awesome character love her spunk and views on life. These to together are hot.
A favorite author is always a joy to read with the fabulous stories they give us to escape with. It is even more special when they also give us a piece of themselves in a story. The heroine of this book suffers from anxiety and agoraphobia, something the author has dealt with herself. You can feel Dusty’s fears and understand them with the way the author presents them.
This book give’s us Ryan Mallick’s story. He is the third of the five brother’s stories we’ve gotten so far. Even though he is an enforcer for his father’s loansharking business he also has legitimate business too and is pretty much all business. He is not really big on the party scene or having a different woman every night of the week. One thing he had been, is fascinated by his shut in neighbor. He has never spoken to her before but all that changes with a carbon monoxide scare and then with her getting beat up by some bad men that break into her apartment.
Dusty, as I mentioned earlier, was a unique woman who suffered from a couple forms of mental illness. There was no rhyme or reason for why they suddenly took over her life but she had done the best she could to live with them even though it was a lonely existence. She also found herself attracted to her neighbor but never found the courage to act on it until a set of circumstances forced her to and she was surprised that being around him calmed her anxieties.
I appreciated that the majority of the book was Ryan and Dusty getting to know each other and learning about Dusty’s illness. Ryan was the perfect man for her as he was understanding and patient and never bothered by what she could or couldn’t do. Towards the end we do get some action/suspense that involved some of my favorite characters from other her series which I freggin loved! As always looking forward to what’s next from this author..
