Can she trust the alien who looks at her with heat in his eyes?
An impossible chance…
From the moment he sees her, Ru knows Lis is his mate. But she’s already wounded and distrustful of aliens. How can he prove that he’s trustworthy? If he can’t overcome Lis’s fears, their bond will break before it has a chance to form, leaving Ru dead and Lis all alone in a hostile galaxy.

Ruwen is book one in the Mated To The Alien series by Kate Rudolph and Starr Huntress.
It’s a fated mate/insta mate type read.
Lis is abducted, tested on, and then told sorry we picked up the wrong alien now here’s a backpack with supplies enjoy this planet.
Ruwen is an endangered species. They die by the age of 30 if they haven’t found their fated mate.
This story is short and drags bit. Ru was sweet, but I prefer my aliens/alphas to be a bit more alpha and in charge. As for the story it’s got no world building, no relationship building, and the characters have no depth.
This was a freebie and I’m glad for that. It had nothing special or memorable about the story and It didn’t capture me or make me want to read on. It was something to pass the time.
Rated: 3 Stars
I have to admit that alien stories are my new “crack.” Probably because I”m jealous of any author who can write one and “sell” me on the world building. I want my own alien after reading this one too! I highly recommend!
I liked it very much, sorry am not going into story, you must get it to find out, and when I look up reviews, I just want to see how many stars it got, and go from there.
It was a nicely paced page turner. Characters were interesting. Ruwen and Lis more just litte bit more story
just got to listen to the audiobook on youtube. it was great to reread/listen to this story again. luv’d it
Fated mates are life saving in this series. There really isn’t much world building. There are several species of alien. Earth has space travel so the people know about aliens. From the brief description of where Liz lived, this is probably a post apocalyptic future.
Great balance of suspense throughout – will they like each other, get away, stay alive? And the development of their love was just spot on.
I love this series! This is the first book but I have read some of the others previously. There are some missing pieces. We only get a vague idea of what Lis did in the Wasteland and how and why she was abducted and then released. And what were the rituals Ruwen went through with his family that makes his “uncle” angry to see him? The insta lust is expected in this series so if that bothers you, I would recommend you not read this. He is very patient with her to accept that they are mates and all that means. There is sex but it is not erotica. I enjoyed reading this book.
Ruwen is the last of his kind. In the tradition of his lost tribe, when he turns 35 and does not have a true mate, he must sacrifice himself. To that end he takes one last mercenary mission—the mission that all other mercenaries have turned down to the high danger. Ru has nothing to lose since he’s going to die soon anyway. Might as well go out in a blaze of glory.
Lis is an Earthling that was kidnapped by aliens and unceremoniously dumped on the Planet Polart after the kidnappers discovered she was the “wrong Earthling.” No money, the clothing on her back, no shoes and a small jug of water and on a hostile planet, she keeps to the edges of the major city near the forest. Soon she finds shelter and food and danger when Ru shows up.
It took me a long time to read this short (less than 150 pages) eBook. I mean months. I would put it down in favor of other eBooks or projects. I love dialogue between characters because I think that’s the best way to have misadventure, mishaps and confusion. Dialogue is another way to convey describe events, actions and emotions. There was very little dialogue in this eBook. The author gave excellent descriptions of everything—scenarios, characters, movements, emotions/feelings, thoughts, etc. I skimmed the last 40 pages. The story was a HEA.
Ruwen Mated to the Alien #1 by Kate Rudolph
Lis has been kidnapped but the Aliens that took her found she is not the person they wanted. They drop her off on a planet called Polai. There are no other humans on the planet but there are some aliens that live there. She is scared to death of these small people and stay away from them. One day she happens on a building and that is where she runs into a big alien Ruwen and this is their story. I really enjoyed reading this story about two different people who might be mates. I highly recommend this book and look forward to reading more by Kate Rudolph.
A great read 4 1/2**** First, I’d like to say “Thank you!!!” for having a male narrator in this girl-dominated genre. This alone goes a long way (for this reader, as I prefer hearing “love words” from a man vs a woman whispering hot things in my earphones). I know in this progressive age, there are those who are throwing big clumps of shade right now but really, as my daughter has said this is “mommy porn” at it’s best. Women want Relationship with a man (or woman ;] to your taste) that will stay and do their best to make the relationship work in this oh-so-disposable society we find ourselves in. We need someone to Need us specifically because we are who we are not just for what we can give them. The fact that he is FIT feeds into our primal yearning for someone who can defend us and our babies when we can’t. ( More shade splatters, but I brought my raincoat.) I also like that this is written as a partnership. Both partners have something to give according to their own strengths and are support for each other’s weaknesses. With so many divorcees out there along with others who don’t even think they could afford to “file jointly” their relationship alone, places this more into the fantasy category than does space travel or the possibility of friendly aliens. Thank you for this imaginary vacation. Mechanics: This author gives us very good world-building without going overboard. Thank you for the lack of FB grammar during the prose sections. Text-talk is fine for dialogue (as part of building the characters) but this author understands that slang dates a book and can cause a language barrier that takes the reader out of your carefully crafted world and the flow of the story. More please?

I truly gave this book 3.75 stars out of five. While it entertained me I felt that the middle of it dragged. It could have had more adventure in it, I feel, but it did. There was some steam to it.
fun read
I usually don’t read outer space anymore but Ruwen got me from the second page and suddenly I had finished just when I was settling down for another chapter.
Great read.
This was a great fast past romance. These two had a rocky start but I hope to learn more in the following book for this series.
I just started reading alien romances and find that some are just words strung together,NOT this one! This book had me rooting for a miracle for the hero, I was so caught up in the story that I had to finish it before I could put it down.
The hero sounded so yummy, I wanted him for myself.
I fell in love with Ruwen and was so sad when this one ended because this was a character I would absolutely love to see more of.
An adventurous and exciting read with great fight scenes. Good characters building with the two lead – Lis, a strong female lead who can kick butt, and Ruwan, the equally strong male lead who is confident enough to put her first. I enjoy the strong female quick relationship “dance” between the two, reminiscent of the noir films. Recommend for 18+ readers.
Kidnapped and stranded is not how Lis expected her day to go. Ruwen figured once his job was done he would spend his last few months numb. Fate has a way of changing that and does so when she brings these two together. Neither one was prepared for the intensity of the bond nor the rightness of the connection
Because of a genetic defect Ruwen and his people die when they turn 30, unless
they find their denya, true mate. Not so bad when there was millions of people but after a war that destroyed everything, not much left, and the gene pool was really limited. Chances of finding your denya not good, so Ruwen was taking a dangerous job for the money and he didn’t plan on being around much longer, he turns 30 in a couple of months. Lis has been abducted from Earth and when she wasn’t needed anymore she was dropped off on the planet Polai and told you can survive on this planet. Ruwen is on Polai to steal something and runs into Lis at the building he needs to break into. As soon as he meets her he knows she is meant for him. Convincing Lis doesn’t go well. There is so much going on and
it is so much fun to read. Loved it!
