I’m the girl nobody sees. That is, until I move next door to Parker High’s most eligible bastard, Tristan Blackwood. He’s gorgeous. Eyes as cold as moonlight. Lips made for cruel kisses. The entire town knows it, too. Apparently being able to throw a football elevates you to god status around here.He could have anything he wanted. Anyone. But somehow, all he wanted was to torment me.Me, trapped in … all he wanted was to torment me.
Me, trapped in my mom’s protective bubble: homeschooled and invisible, stuck in a wheelchair and saddled with more medical issues than I could count. Normal? I might as well wish to be a fairytale princess.
There aren’t any princesses or knights in my fairytale. Just the dark prince who lives next door. Parker High royalty in the flesh. My very own devil in a letterman jacket.
His life should be a dream, but the only thing he cares about is becoming my nightmare.
And when my pride isn’t enough for him, he decides he wants my body.
He wants my heart.
He wants every last inch of me to himself.

If I could have given this book more stars I would have.
The story just took me and never let me go.
Their backgrounds were worked out into the smallest details and WOW what they had to go trough made them the people they’ve become.
Just loved it, if you love a good romantic story this is a must read for you!!

Ohh, Ms. Bloom!
What a story this one turned out to be~ I have read everything and anything she’s written so far, and I have to say, I a-l-m-o-s-t put this one down about 12% in.
No, it wasn’t the ” dark content,” or in my opinion, the YA feel ( I am just getting *clears throat* too mature for that stuff, you know? ) I honestly wasn’t digging the story or the characters all the way around, gave me off feeling.
SO, I put this one on the back burner for a few days, and during that time at the oddest moments-I would have little flashes of what I had gotten read, deciding that was a creepy sign I need to give the book another try. I read it from the begging to end in one sitting- and I and as weird as it sounds, I am glad for the creepy flashbacks!
Otherwise, I would have missed out on an insane whirlwind of a book that took me through pain, sickness, love, heartache, and back again.
Ms. Boom certainly threw me off balance; if you’re on the fence about reading the latest from this author, I encourage you to give it a shot! It was worth it for me.
Well I did not know what to expect from this book as the last books that I read was different than this. This book had a little bit of everything from suspense, anger, strength, trusting, love and forgiveness. This is about Tristan and Kennedy. Kennedy and her mom have just moved into the house which looks more like a shack at least this is what Tristan and his buddies call it. Kennedy is home schooled as her mother, who is also a nurse, is treating her multiple illnesses that Kennedy knows nothing about. Kennedy is dependent on a wheel chair due to those illnesses, if not she will end up loosing balance of herself. Tristan sees her the first day when he drives by to get to his home, but does not say anything to her.
The story takes off when Kennedy decides to go to the neighbors home when her mom leaves to go to work and when she is almost caught, she falls into a bush, loosing her glasses and wheelchair. After that incident, Tristan starts calling her Wheels, in which she does not mind, but does not understand why he is so angry. She is fixated with him and he tries to be mean to her all the time, but she does not give up. The banter between the guys and her is something else. This is more like a high school bully romance, but at the end, more comes up that is surprising. What a mother does to make sure her daughter does not become a statistic is unbelievable. This is a must read. Penelope did something different with this book that kept me intrigued from the start but it does have a happy ending which is expected from the author.

When Kennedy moves in and discovers the deeply disturbed guy next door her life goes from bad to worse. Will she ever catch a break or will it get worse?
Mind boggling situations will have your mind spinning.

Great read by Penelope!!
Wow! Penelope writes Kennedy and Tristan story with such angst that you will struggle to believe they could ever get out from under, let alone develop a relationship. Yet Kennedy and Tristan clash with one another until they don’t. But will it be enough to find a happily ever after? You have to read to find out and won’t want to put the book down.
Ruthless Love by Penelope Bloom is a great read. interesting, intriguing, steamy and filled with drama and twist and turns that will put you on edge and keeps you entertain while reading.an enemies to lovers romance story of Tristan and Kennedy that will hooked you from start to finish, well done!

Absolutely loved this book.
Brilliant storyline and brilliant characters.
Loved how Tristan and Kennedy got together and found their HEA.
The whole storyline was brilliant.
Great read! This book was different than other books by this author but not in a bad way. I would say this is kind of an enemy to lovers book with a bully aspect. This is a great high school romance must read.
I had a great time reading this book I found the characters to be well developed and engaging and the storyline flowed smoothly from beginning to the end.

Tristan wasn’t particularly nice to Kennedy when they first met, but he soon became her dark hero. Both teenagers had horrible family backgrounds and had much more than the usual teenage angst to deal with. Good story that flows well with good character portrayals.

This dark romance will have you from the start as Tristan unleashes his darkness on wheel chair bound Kennedy.
His character will take a while to grow on you but hang in there as he is a rare rock that will shine when it ultimately counts.
OMG Kennedy mum what a messed up human being but I guess her behaviour can be explained away medically but It’s just not right.
This book divulges into subjects that are hard hitting and very emotional, you will welcome the HEA.

Kennedy and her mom have just moved into a new town, and a misunderstanding has the school bully with his sights set on her as a target. This is a well written story which is intense, intriguing, emotional, and with secrets and an unexpected twist, which all had me totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner. In my opinion this is one of the best stories from this gifted author!
She’s the girl who’s confined to a wheelchair.
He’s the guy who’s life isnt all it seems to be.
Secrets and lies stand between her wheels and his feet.
Can they overcome their differences to work together or will the hate and fear rage on…
I looovvve a good bully read. There’s no greater feeling than that of falling hard and fast for what you are reading.
This book is unique in the fact that she comes with wheels. Add in the amazing twist and I knew this was something special!
Kennedy isn’t what I expected at all. I love that she’s strong and sassy, and as independent as possible.
Tristan isnt your average quaterback either. He might appear to just be a jock, but there is a hidden depth to him. He is worth the time and effort but ladies he’s mine!!
This is by far the best book I have read of Penelope Bloom’s. I simply couldnt get enough of her words, or of their drama and angst.
Hooked from start to finish, and left smiling like a loon. Only a true five star read gives you that!
Tremendous! Dark departure from her usual Rom Coms – LOVED it!
This is a book that had me thinking about it when I wasn’t reading it. That doesn’t happen to me often. I had to stop reading it today at work b/c around the end of chapter 36 and into 37 got too sad. Mascara dripping down your face…nah, not good. Thank all that is holy for chapter 39 too…
Kennedy Stills has been homeschooled for a very long time due to her health issues. Because her mom is a nurse, she has been well taken care of. Right? They are on the run from Kennedy’s father who is supposedly abusive. What will happen when Kennedy finally gets to go to HS? Will a new world open up for her? Will her health improve or worsen?
Tristan Blackwood is the hunky QB of the HS team, arrogant, jealous, brooding rich boy, abusive when it suits him and ruthless when it comes to Kennedy. Their meet-cute was not so cute. The thing is for someone in a wheelchair and should have been fragile, Kennedy was a challenge to Tristan because she was more…
I simply cannot say enough great things about this book. I have read all of Ms. Bloom’s Rom Coms and still thoroughly enjoy them, but this was a departure that was surprising and well-done. Fast-paced, well-written in dual POV. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through Booksprout and it comes highly recommended. I give it 5+++ Stars!
Interesting and intriguing from the beginning. The girl in the wheelchair was not as weak as it seemed and neither Tristan was as ruthless as he portrayed himself. He was struggling all the time trying to don’t twist his arm but, rejection was something eating at him and revenge was a way to deal with it. I was feeling sorry for Tristan and much more for Kennedy. Way to be harmed by who were supposed to be your love ones. Intrigued by Tristan’s friends, their bickering and strong ways with each other. Hope they have their own stories. Strong emotions, drama, mystery, deceive, betrayal, bullying, romance and passion
Wheels & Weeds 5 stars – For a story set in a high school, the characters actually has layers. Tristan is so abrasive but is contradicted by how he takes care of Wheels when she’s sick. Kennedy’s spunk and loyalty to her garden weeds is endearing. There’s a bit of mystery on both Tristan’s and Kennedy’s background. I kind of have a suspicion about Wheels’ issues but I wasn’t expecting Tristan’s hurdles. I so enjoyed reading it that I ended up finishing it in one sitting. I can’t wait for the books on Tristan’s friends. [I received an advanced copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.]
I thought this was a very well done story. Kennedy moved in with her Mom next to Tristan. Tristan was the popular football quarterback. To her, he was the boy in her grade that was mean to her yet fascinated by her. As they spent time together what happened between them had such emotional highs and lows. Both with their own struggles how they dealt with them was a story I really enjoyed. Hard to describe this one but I really liked it.
A great read from a new-to-me author. Bad boy bully with secrets and a sheltered girl who’s pretty naive but gutsy, and some intrigue thrown in.
“Even though she was such a small, frail thing and bound to a chair, there was a kind of energy to her.”
Kennedy Stills has led a very sheltered life. She’s in a wheelchair due to various medical conditions and also in hiding from a bad father. Her mother controls nearly every aspect of her life to keep her safe. However, when she puts herself in the path of Tristan Blackwood, there’s very little anyone can do to help her.
“You’re mine to torment, Wheels. Not his. Not anyone else’s. Mine.”
Tristan Blackwood is the rich bad boy neighbour with a big secret. When he believes that Kennedy is in danger of discovering his secret, he aims to torment her and make her life hell in order to scare her into keeping her mouth shut. However, what starts out as a private campaign against her morphs into something unexpected, but Tristan’s not sure what he really has to offer a girl like Kennedy.
“She was like the only f*cking mirror in the world clear enough to show me what a piece of shit I was.”
This was a great read! Tristan is such an a-hole but he had his reasons. He won me over with his little chinks of vulnerability, his thoughtfulness, his jealousy and possessiveness over Kennedy. Kennedy is hella brave! Considering how sheltered she is, she doesn’t really lack in confidence. The only thing that made me want to shake her was the seemingly obvious clues to her condition, and what was really going on in her life were all staring her in the face. Nonetheless, I really liked the twists and turns in this story and the happy resolution for them both. An intriguing read that should keep you glued to the pages until the very end.
Ruthless Love is a stand-alone bully romance. Kennedy just moved and while she dreams of having a normal life, her illnesses make her different. When she captures the attention of her next door neighbor, Tristan, her life is about to be changed. But is Tristan just messing with her to pass time, or is there a true connection between the two of them?
You know those books where you stay up late to finish the book because you can’t bare to go to bed until you see how everything ends?! That was this book for me. Bonus points, because this was my first Bully Romance set in a high school setting! Kennedy and Tristan stole the show, though, and I did not want to put this book down! There were secrets upon secrets, trying to do the right thing, passion, anger, and so much love in these pages and this book was so good! Kennedy is amazing, strong, loyal, completely likable, if not a little too trusting. I loved her curiosity and her hunger for more in life. Tristan was vicious at times, but oh so protective and caring. I loved his soft heart, you just had to get to it through all of his prickly exterior. They made a great couple that really brought out the better parts of each other. I don’t know if this will turn into a series or if it’s just a standalone romance, but I recommend this book!
This author has been on a romcom streak, so I was surprised to see this is a bully, enemies to lovers romance. This full length standalone features Kennedy, a girl in a wheelchair, and Tristan, a boy with a secret. Both are 18 and go to high school. I found the plot interesting and engrossing. Kennedy was quite naive, in keeping with her sheltered upbringing. I was surprised at how social & feisty she was with her peers, yet didn’t question her mother more. With bully romances, I sometimes have a tough time warming up to the H but the author has left just enough uncertainty to suggest he might not be as bad as he seems. Good book.
