I’m the girl nobody sees. That is, until I move next door to Parker High’s most eligible bastard, Tristan Blackwood. He’s gorgeous. Eyes as cold as moonlight. Lips made for cruel kisses. The entire town knows it, too. Apparently being able to throw a football elevates you to god status around here.He could have anything he wanted. Anyone. But somehow, all he wanted was to torment me.Me, trapped in … all he wanted was to torment me.
Me, trapped in my mom’s protective bubble: homeschooled and invisible, stuck in a wheelchair and saddled with more medical issues than I could count. Normal? I might as well wish to be a fairytale princess.
There aren’t any princesses or knights in my fairytale. Just the dark prince who lives next door. Parker High royalty in the flesh. My very own devil in a letterman jacket.
His life should be a dream, but the only thing he cares about is becoming my nightmare.
And when my pride isn’t enough for him, he decides he wants my body.
He wants my heart.
He wants every last inch of me to himself.

I thought I was over bully romance but this was unexpectedly good. I loved that Tristan’s character is hot, cruel and mysterious. The storyline doesn’t disappoint to give you the feels you would expect sometimes tender, sometimes dark but oh the heat level and chemistry is still there between Tristan and Kennedy. If bully romance is your genre than this is worth the read.
Excellent unexpected romance
It’s an excellent romance, quite mysterious and sometimes a bit harsh, but completely unexpected from the beginning, if not for the illness which Kennedy’smother claims that Kennedy has, and which seems suspicious. The character of Tristan is rather dark and cruel to Kennedy, to hide something and keep her away.
The story is sometimes hard, sometimes tender, hot and has great characters.

I didn’t know what to expect when I started this book, but I was pleasantly surprised.
Penelope did a fantastic spin on the bully romance genre. In my opinion, it wasn’t really a dark romance though – there wasn’t any roughing up, just a little verbal throw arounds. This story had a few surprising twists (dealing with some rather dark topics concerning the parents from both sides) and kept me intrigued. I loved the character development and how I saw young love come to be. Penelope did well with this one and I would love to see the rest of the “wolf pack” get their own story as well.

This is a departure from Penelope Blooms fabulous romantic comedies. But what a great departure! This story deals with some really heavy subjects. One of which I have never seen in a romance. Tristan and Kennedys story is sometimes painful, sometimes sweet and sometimes sexy. I couldnt put this book down. The characters are flawed but you will be rooting for them. Even bad boy Tristan.
I love Penelope block’s work, the his banana series was amazingly fun and I couldn’t get enough of it. So when I found this book, although different from her normal books I had to read it. Dark romance is normally my go to read, a bully romance is right up my street. This book doesn’t disappoint in my opinion. There are many different avenues to follow as you get to know the characters. Tristen and Kennedy have so much going on its a wonder they can over come it all. You really root for him as you get to see the other side of him, but no one is prefect and Kennedy embraces that part of tristen. The stage you in from the start. Having you guessing what the kids and secrets are. It was a true rollercoaster of a read.
Tristan is so far from the perfect guy for Kennedy but they are somehow perfect for each other. This is quite the dark romance tale and a departure from Ms. Bloom’s normal style but definitely a good read.

4*
Kennedy (wheels) meets Tristan when her mother rents a house near his families property. First impressions aren’t that great he’s not exactly hospitable.
She has health problems her mum seems to be treating.
The two meet again when she convinces her mum to allow her to attend school.
Things aren’t always as they seem.
Tristan is the typical party guy but for wheels he’s different. Wheels character is so trusting and makes you want to change.
I’m hoping this is the start and there is more from his friends – Logan, Gage & Cassian.

Great book

This is a beautiful story of Kennedy who is in a wheelchair feeling broken and lost when she meets Tristan a out of control man trying to just through life. These two make each other better. Awesome story 10 stars
I enjoyed this read. It was quite different from what I normally expect from this author’s work. This book has a much more serious tone and relies heavily on drama, twists and a overall much heavier emotional feel. It is a bully romance that is definitely on the lighter end of the spectrum and I was personally relieved that the book was written that way. We forgive our antiheroes a lot but brutally torturing a girl in a wheelchair would have been simply over the line for me. I could stomach Tristan being a mean jerk but if he had crossed that line it would have been a big issue for me. I really liked Kennedy a lot and my heart ached for her. While he did grow on me, I wish I could have liked Tristan more than I did but honestly, I just spent too much time wanting to smack him to ever get past the like stage. The story was very engaging and will keep you entertained with plenty of intense emotions, secrets and lies as the story unfolds.
This book was twisted.
Correction. Tristan was twisted.
I have always had a thing for the wounded bad boy. And Tristan was right up my alley.
He was right up Kennedy’s alley as well.
I absolutely loved how she gave as good as she got and never seemed to give up on him.
It may be twisted, but this book was hot beyond belief with a tiny side of dark sweetness.
I would recommend.
Happy reading!

Amazing read! This young adult romance was a great read. It had a different storyline, witty humor, a beautiful love story, hot scenes and well written too. I enjoyed this authors writing style.
Excellent high school bully romance!!
Kennedy is wheelchair bound due to medical issues and her mom takes care of her. They move to a new town and with her mom’s schedule at work she’s not able to keep home schooling Kennedy. So Kennedy gets to go to public school for the first time in forever, too bad she already made an enemy out of the QB, Tristan, before school even started. Tristan believes Kennedy overheard something between him and his father that could be his downfall, so he takes matters into his own hands and starts bullying her to keep her in line. This is a wonderful story and I honestly couldn’t decide if I wanted to smack Kennedy’s mother or Tristan more!!!! Definitely a must read for all the people out there who love a great bully romance.
