Cord Alexander finds that his ruthless pursuit of the truth behind missing nuclear waste comes with a very high price.Cord Alexander finds that his ruthless pursuit of the truth behind missing nuclear waste comes with a very high price. So does the secret he’s kept from his wife Morgan about a brief affair he had. It’s all crashing in and he’s either going to … all crashing in and he’s either going to clear his name and save his marriage or… well, let’s just say things could go horribly wrong for him.
And while his attention is on all that, Morgan is back home dealing with the government, who thinks Cord has done some pretty terrible things, and trying not to lose her mind over evidence that her husband has been cheating on her. If that were not enough, now she’s been romantically pursued by a man she was told a long time ago not to trust, her dog and people she considered family have vanished and she can’t get a straight answer about anything from anyone.
She’s about at the end of her rope and right now she’s not even sure tying a knot in it will help her to hang on.

Mystery, suspense, romance. Everything you could possibly want in a book. I really enjoyed reading the first book of this series and the second one did not disappoint.
Fantastic storyline with down to earth characters that you will instantly love.
The story continues from Reckless and will continue into Relentless. There was a lot going on, many different points of view. I am not sure how I feel about Morgan any more but Cord needs all the positive vibes he can get. With all the players in this game, I had a bit of a problem keeping the good straight from the villains. I know how I want it to end, but now I need to wait for the next book.
I received a copy of this story through Candid Book Reviews, and this is my unsolicited review.
The next installment in the ongoing saga featuring Cord and Morgan. This story just keeps getting better and the characters are not as they appear most of the time.
Conspiracy theorist would love this book. Government agencies, rogue agents, reinvented characters, dangerous drugs, spirit travel, and computer nerds what more can you ask for in a riveting book?
First, I want to thank Ciana Stone for providing me with this book so I can bring you this review.
Ruthless by Ciana Stone is the second book in the Shattered Series. I highly suggest you read the first book to get the feel of the characters and the storyline.
There are two covers for this book. One that is on the ARC that I received and another one that is seen on Amazon. The two of them are very beautifully done just with a different feel to it. As always Ciana does an amazing job.
Ciana always dedicates her books to her honeyman. This time she says I do to him!
I found myself smiling as I read the first page of this book. Usually, I read books where the woman are abused in one form or another. Now don’t get me wrong I am not in favor of violence in any way. However, it seems like it is always the woman who always gets beaten. It was so refreshing to read about a guy getting hit and left dazed and confused. It made for a great beginning. Kudos on flipping the switch Ciana!
I loved the storyline with Cassie and Cord. Cassie trying her best to seduce Cord however he did everything in his power to resist her. Boy was that hard for him to do.
As with many of Ciana’s book she picks topic that is close to her heart that is newsy.
This is suspenseful, disturbing and sad. Cord sets out to find out once and for all if Juan is responsible for her taking the missing nuclear waste. Unfortunately that leaves Morgan at home alone and vulnerable. Cassie goes after Cord, Victor goes after Morgan and Mark starts to fall for Morgan. There are so many lies told and so much betrayal, poor Morgan gets bombarded from all sides and unfortunately is dumb enough to believe the lies so easily. Cord tries to play hero, but it tragically backfires on him. Cassie gets ticked off when she realizes that she can’t get Cord and goes a litte crazy. Things get so confused and out of hand that you can’t tell who is a good guy, and who isn’t. I’m still not thrilled about being left hanging, but it does makes sense at the end. I can’t wait to read the next book.
I received a copy of this from Booksprout and am voluntarily reviewing it.
There is deceit, miscommunication and doubt surrounding Morgan and Cord Alexander and Alexander Enterprises. Neither the reader nor the Alexanders know who to trust, much less the full extent of what is going on with Cord’s business. Whatever it is, one thing is clear – Victor Vinsetti is a manipulative man who is out to destroy anything and anyone who gets in his way and right now the Alexanders have his full attention.
Vinsetti likes to manipulate people and Cassandra Billingsley is a good example of his expertise but he does not stop with her…he has bigger ideas in mind and none of them portent well for anyone in his site-line.
If you are a fan of mystery, manipulation and mayham you are in the right place. This series is filled with loving, caring individuals as well as the darkest offerings of humanity. It is hard to put the book down when your heart is pounding right out of your chest. Hopefully by the time I get to the third book in the series, I will have calmed down a bit.
Fair warning: be prepared for things you will NEVER see coming.
I received an ARC without cost of obligation from the author. Stone has a solid history of delivering quality reads and this book and series reflect her abilities have only become stronger.
Book two of the Shattered Chronicles/ The World of the Others series a well written book and these books have to be read in order. I will be reading the next book. I received a copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing.
Episode two in this new and very different series, extends our understanding of the characters and their “”shattered” reality. These books are real page turners that will have you eagerly waiting for the next episode. They do need to be read in order to follow through on the action.
Book 2 has so much action, I do not even know where to start! There is mystery, romance, intrigue, etc. I stayed up the entire night because I just had to know how it ends.
Both Morgan and Cord continue to be strong characters, although they also both raise red flags. Victor really makes his presence felt in this one. If there was every villian that you hated deep to the core, he is it! There is nothing aboug him that makes me like even a little.
Now I REALLY have to read book 3!!
Another fantastic story in this epic romance suspense saga with Cord in the wind, Morgan fighting to carry on and Victor still in the mix with his own agenda. The writing is spectacular that keeps you on the edge of your seat as this trio deals with their individual dramas. All is not what it seems as the fabulous author gives us a story with enough teeth that evokes so many emotions. It’s thrilling and intriguing with fast-paced action and characters that are brilliantly developed and continue to evolve with every installment. I can’t wait for the next story. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.
Book 1 ended in a cliffhanger. I realize I can handle a cliffhanger if it’s only two books about the same characters.
This book was full of deceit, action, intrigue, and suspense. It is well written, the plot is intricate. You wonder how Cord and Morgan can possibly extricate themselves from this ness. Maybe their only hope is Agent Stork and Joe.
Take this review for what it’s worth. It is a good story. You should definitely indulge. Personally, I don’t have the patience. I will probably continue because I hate to leave a book unfinished. In all honesty, I’m starting not to care what happens to Morgan and Cord.
I was excited at the end of book one. “OMG!, What is going to happen next?” At the end of book 2, it is more like, “how much longer is this going to go on?”
Had this take been only one book, even one long book, that I could read straight through knowing I had the entire story, I wouldn’t have a problem. This makes me feel like the story is being unnecessarily drawn out. I don’t believe that is the author’s intention, those are just my feelings.
The waiting for the next phase makes me lose interest as I have said before, but I will push on through until the end. I can only hope it won’t be much longer. I will step off of my soapbox now, and my apologies.
I read this book via Kindle Unlimited.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and I loved it SO MUCH that I purchased a copy. This author is one of my ultimate favorites. I will definitely purchase her books!!
The plot just keeps getting better and better. I normally do not read series as I tend to forget the prior book and have a little trouble getting started again in the new release. Not with this series. I am biting my nails as the story is getting more and more complex and twisted as it goes along. I can’t read fast enough. My poor e-reader is burning up with the workout that it is getting here.
Cord and Morgan have the perfect life until it all goes south because of someone’s interference. Victor is the ultimate villain. The person you love to hate. The characters and the plot are so well written that I became enthralled right from the beginning. There is no down time on the plot. I really feel like I am a part of the scenes (or like it is a movie playing in my mind.)
Ms. Stone is a master story-teller. She weaves her magic throughout and I become one with the story. I am so going to read this series all over again and again.
There are some scenes that are only appropriate for someone over 18 to read.
I volunteered to read and review an advanced readers copy of Ruthless .
While I found this story well written . I really have a difficult time with the personal aspects of the story . I felt Cord at one time despected Morgan I really don’t see him in a very good way . I don’t like the way Morgan is being manipulated . I cannot wait to continue the rest of the story . This story is intense and suspenseful very intriguing and very very frustrating but all out great . I recommend this story .
You are drawn right into this one especially if you read the previous one. Cord and Morgan will give you so gripping scenes with you sometimes being in awe as you read. Some of what is revealed in this one had me shaking my head. Some things that happen in this will also have you flabbergasted and on edge because it will be unexpected also. This is certainly one that is so unpredictable which had alot not just some with that not happening for me in a long long time. Oh and that Victor oh my. You will get so wrapped up in this one with this author having no mercy and does not let go.
The second book in the Shattered Chronicles series gives us more questions than answers as Morgan and Cord are at a crossroads in their marriage. Morgan is holding on to the belief that what she has been told about Cord are lies. They have been together for years and she knows their love is still strong. Cord has become so focused, beginning with the first book, on the missing nuclear waste that he has unintentionally put both his life and marriage in trouble. During this time, Morgan is left on her own and becomes the obsession of a man who is truly evil and will change his plans for Morgan from planning her death to claiming her for his own. Morgan is left adrift…not knowing who she can trust. This is another gritty read from Ms. Stone that keeps you on a roller coaster of emotions throughout the book. I do not normally read a book or series that I know will end in a cliffhanger, but this one is well worth the read. I am eagerly waiting on what will happen in book number three. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from the author. (by paytonpuppy)
For me, there were some really heartbreaking moments in this second of the ‘Shattered Chronicles’ series. Cord and Morgan are farther apart than ever before due to outside forces. Some parts are so heartbreaking, I kept the tissues close by. With the intrigue and suspense, as those outside forces continue to manipulate both Cord and Morgan, it will be a tough call to mend all that is happening. Although I am very vocal on cliffhangers, this is a series that really calls to the reader and will have them waiting on pins and needles for book 3. I was gifted an early copy of “Ruthless” and am voluntarily giving my review and was under no obligation to do so.
The intrigue is becoming so intense and the action is so fast-paced that it may leave you breathless. Cord and Morgan are in a desperate fight, one they don’t even know they are fighting, that may not only destroy their marriage and livelihoods, but could cost Cord his life. The suspense is building more and more as the Feds increase their efforts to prove Cord’s duplicity in the theft of the missing radioactive waste, and Victor Vinsetti sets his malicious plans in place to destroy Cord and conquer Morgan.
This series is so engrossing and intriguing that you could just lose your mind while reading this. I love this storyline so much, that I hate where it’s headed at this point, but I can’t stop reading. I have to know what’s going to happen next!! I can’t wait to read the next in the series “Relentless.” I strongly recommend this amazing romantic suspense series.
In this second book in “The Shattered Chronicles” series, the story continues on from Reckless for Morgan and Colt Alexander. The suspense and intrigue are palpable in this nail biter. I am still not sure what Morgan and Colt have gotten themselves into, but things are not looking good. They are certainly being set up for a big fall by some seriously evil people. And the revelations for Morgan in this one are devastating – even though she doesn’t realize she is being manipulated as well. I am not a big fan of cliffhangers, but this story is so good, that I will let that go and wait with baited breath for the next installment of this tale – bring it out quickly please!
This book has so much going on, yet still easy to follow. It is a cliffhanger just be aware. Honestly can’t wait to see what’s next and how everything will all come together. No spoilers here.
I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
It was a great book!
Megan feels the wall closing in on her with no way to escape.
Is her husband really cheating on her?
Why is the government looking for Cord ?
Cord made a mess of things, and now he is trying to make things right.
Will he be able to save his marriage ?
You will have to read the book to find out.
Loved the characters + the storytelling!
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
