I found Toran likable, and good for Iris, however she just wasn’t believable as a spy (getting caught, obviously talking when she should remain silent, having to rely on Toran to save her, etc) and I really wish she was mentally stronger (not rude, combative, contrary, etc – as so many ‘strong’ women are- but truly strong, knowing her strengths, using them and praising the strengths in others). Her chosen profession also didn’t mesh with both her personality, ability nor her actions. She did make him happy, so there is that. The writing was good, it just wasn’t one of my favorite books by this author.

This is an awesome book that I really enjoyed. The story , characters and plot pulled me in form the beginning and I couldn’t put it down. I loved Toran and Iris and their story they were very hot and steamy. The story has plenty of action, drama, suspense, twists, turns, adventure, danger, and a great romance. It’s a definite must read for any fan and I can’t wait to read more from this author.

The good character and storyline development kept me turning the pages until the very end! I look forward to reading more from this author in the future!
Iris Mason, a consultant, looked out at the barely seen Potomac from the Sol Defense Agency building. The outside of the building was unassuming brick and chipped paint, but the inside was sleek grey and contained the latest in technology. Her contact, Selma, joined her and passed her a disc with details. But the summary was that days ago, an alien ship brought eleven women who’d been abducted from Earth over the past three years, one of them the niece of a United States senator. They brought with them three operatives from the Sol Intelligence Agency and four alien Detyens. But 12 women had been abducted, and they doubted the story they were given for only having 11. So Iris was being assigned to Toran NaLosen to find out what he was hiding, if he was a threat, or if they should allow him to go home.
When the Detyens rescued the women, they were still looking for clues as to who ordered the destruction of their planet 100 years ago. One of the human women recognized the name of someone called Yormas of Wreet, currently an ambassador on Earth. It may not be the same person, but they needed to check it out. Toran was working out in the gym when he heard the door open. He made a joking remark about Dryce’s sexual appetite as a woman’s voice responded. He was speechless when he turned and saw her – his Denya! Iris was equally speechless – his pictures did not do him justice, and his scent was driving her crazy! Why was she reacting this way? She hadn’t read any warnings about this! She blamed it on alien sex pheromones! But she definitely couldn’t get him off of her mind! Would she realize how important she was to him? Would she return to his planet and make her life with him? And would they work together to find out more information about Yormas and what happened so many years ago that may threaten Earth very soon?
This was a wonderful book, well-written with excellent characters. It was refreshing to see the different personality types with Toran nearing 30 at which point he would die if he did not find his Denya, Dryce who was the perfect smiling and fun playboy, and Kayde who became soulless to extend his life a little longer while he waited to discover his Denya. The story line was good and kept the reader’s attention. Grab your copy and enjoy the continuation of this adventure.
Iris is tasked with gaining information from the Detyon Warriors that have arrived on Earth. They brought kidnapped human woman back to Earth and are missing one and are not saying what happened to her. Toran is stuck on Earth until given permission to leave. When he sets eyes on Iris he realizes that she is his mate. Iris has an immediate attraction to Toran and doesn’t understand what happening. As the two of them are together to find answers to the destruction of his planet things get dangerous. Will they survive? A fantastic story

2nd book to this series, it was just as good as the first one. Toran and his crew are detained on earth until the investigation is over. Meeting Iris changed everything but he will not give up with out a fight. With danger around the corner these two will have to do everything in their power to out smart their enemy.

The world-building was well done and the appearance of some of the aliens was pretty good too.
Toran and Iris had some depth to them when it came to what they have gone through separately. And also the challenges that they were now facing.
However, for me there is a big But right here. I like less sex and more story in my story. There are moments of actions and villains being chased. Also times that the villains caught the good guys for awhile. Secondary people support the M.C.’s and form a team of sorts. But the sex, the mate bond between Toran and Iris seemed to overtake the story.
Some parts of the story come to a good conclusion but the door is also wide open for more adventures. Because the ultimate villain/villains haven’t been totally stopped.

This is the second book in the series that can be read as a standalone; however, I did feel like I missed a few key events from book 1. I liked reading the development of the relationship and attraction between Toran and Iris. This is well written and the storyline is very well developed. Very enjoyable read with likable and realistic characters.

I enjoyed book one in this series, and this one is a good follow up. Toran and Iris are a believable couple who meet when she is tasked to question him about his activities. They are sent on a mission together and that’s when their link really becomes apparent. Characters from the first book are also involved and so it would be an advantage to read that one first. All in all a good read.

A contract job to assess the threat level of a group of aliens who have landed on earth while returning 11 abducted women turns into a much bigger job when one of those aliens turns out to be Iris’s mate. Particularly when she is dragged down the rabbit hole of mystery and intrigue behind the group’s mission to discover who destroyed the Detyans’ planet. She’s got a comparable skill set for that job, but while it’s a bit out of her league, she provides a unique enough perspective that her skills compliment Toran’s. They each explore the mystery of their relationship while navigating the greater mystery of the destruction of the Detyans’ planet. Just enough information is revealed to suspect there is somehow an even bigger and more sinister threat than the destruction of one planet, but just enough to activate the imagination of the reader and the investigators.
This is an enjoyable read. It’s 180pgs long. It took a little longer to read than I expected. Lots of action and bad guys. While there is some sex it is mostly plot. It is steamy enough though. I didn’t read the first book but it was easy enough to follow. I would definitely recommend this book.

This was my first book from Kate Rudolph and Starr Huntress. This is the second book in the Detyen Warriors Series, a great Sci-Fi/Aliens Romance. This story can be listened as a standalone, but I wish I had listened to the first book in the Series before. Toran and Iris are great characters. They are soulmates, and they share a sizzling chemistry. The storyline is complex, intriguing, and action packed. Now, I can’t wait for the next book in the Series. The world building is well done. Ian Gordon and Jennifer Gill did a great job with the duet narration. I enjoyed my listening. I was given a free review copy of the audiobook — at my request — and have voluntarily left this review.
Kate Rudolph you did it again. I tried to pace myself reading this one to make it last longer. but no, could not put it down. I truly enjoy this series and I hope your next one is Kayde’s story. I like how you touch base with characters in the previous books. Its a great way to see how they are doing. I really like that. I hate it when authors do a series and just because their story is done they never refer back to them. They are the reason we read the next one. THANK YOU!
Kate Rudolph channels Ian Fleming
Toran, commanding the Detyen Legion contingent on Earth, is ruthless. His life is dedicated to tracking those responsible for the destruction of Detya a century earlier, and no other mission takes precedence. Until SHE walks into the room – the human woman, his denya. If a Detyen reaches age 30 without his life-mate, his denya, he dies. The denya mission trumps all. SHE happens to be Iris. Iris is a spy, and her mission is Toran. She assigned to make certain Toran and the Legion mean no threat to Earth. But can each one’s missions and cover stories and all the spy craft destroy the denya bond? Nope. For that, the are Oscavians, and Yormas of Wreet. Yormas is suspected of being responsible for the destruction of Detya, and the Oscavians are the slavers who kidnapped a dozen Earth women, and they are sending messages that relate something on Earth to something about Detya… Wheeee! It’s like reading one of Ian Fleming’s 007 novels – Bond and his Bond Girl spying and sneaking and escaping and improvising their way through dangerous adventures on the moon and back to Earth, one step away from doom, and they still have time and energy to scorch the sheets. Dang! they ought to make a movie of this one! Thank you, Kate Rudolph, for the ARC, and the throwback thrills, and keep ’em coming! This is my independent and voluntary review: I LOVE IT!!
