Lauren McCray heads west to escape her abusive ex and stowaway in Rancher Chases truck. Chase takes one look at her battered face and falls instantly for her. The storyline that follows has me turning the pages as fast as I could. I loved the added suspense and drama that follows this couple well written storyline.

Great story line and plot with suspense, action, twists and turns and emotions. Lauren a victim of domestic abuse is on the run from her ex-boyfriend Clint. She meets Chase a local rancher at the dinner where she now works. Chase notices her bruises and offers her his protection. The chemistry and attraction between Chase and Lauren is intense and they fall for each other rather fast. Some unexpected twists and turns in the rustling makes for a very interesting read. Great book

Rustlers and Romance is the first story in Lorelei Confer’s Saddle Creek series and while I essentially liked this book, I found the writing a little disjointed and lacking the easy ebb and flow that allows the reader to slip easily into the story. Laura’s characters was likeable enough, but Chase, while protective and eager to offer shelter to a woman in need, occasionally demonstrated a lack sincerity. Overall, an OK read, so I’ll read book two and see where the series goes.
