I was running from my husband, a man I thought I’d known. Running from the hell he had put me through. He’d nearly destroyed the woman I had once been and I would do whatever it took to regain my freedom. I would lie, and cheat. I would steal if it meant that I never had to go back there. I’d run and keep running… But there was one problem. I hadn’t planned for Ashton Montgomery. He was a … planned for Ashton Montgomery.
He was a distraction I couldn’t allow. Not if I wanted to stay safe. I had to remain distant, but he was relentless and had other ideas.
I caved because I hadn’t thought it all through, not in detail.
If I had I would’ve realized that you can only live in a fantasy world for so long before everything came crashing in around you.
And those lives you’ve destroyed along the way, make you no better than the monster you were trying to break free from.
How could I have been so careless?
It wasn’t meant to turn out this way.
But the Rush of my freedom took control and I forgot how important it was to keep the secret of who I had once been.
And now I had nothing.
Only the fear that the man I’d run from would find me again, and finish what he started.

Rush by CA Harm and narrated by the very talented Sarah Puckett is a story of abuse and the woman that was strong enough to get away and build a new life, and a man who pursued her, but upon finding evidence of her past was judgmental till realization made him see his error.
This story has strong characters and a wonderful storyline.

I liked that Rush started right in the middle of the suspenseful situation. There was some of the typical contemporary romance misunderstanding/poor communication drama, but not as many issues as I would have expected surrounding moving from one controlling relationship potentially into another one.
I listened to the Audible version. The narration was good and Sarah Puckett included emotion in her performance, which I always appreciate.
Overall, the story was entertaining and I would love to see more of Lex in the future. I’m interested in reading other books in the series.

Wow, what a raw and powerful story. Kinsley was desperate to help her father and that made her too vulnerable. Now she is on the run from her abusive and controlling husband. Thanks to the kindness of strangers, she has a new look, and a new life. She can never reveal her secrets if she wants to stay alive. But she didn’t expect to find a wonderful life with good friends and a sexy, determined lover in Ashton Montgomery. Ashton always gets what he wants but doesn’t do relationships. That is until this bold, sweet and sexy woman barged into his office, only to stride out just as quickly. He can’t figure out why she intrigues him so. As they get to know each other, their attraction explodes. But Ashton feels that Kinsley has secrets she won’t reveal and he doesn’t think he can be patient enough to wait for answers. These secrets are tearing Kinsley apart as well and could end up breaking both their hearts. This is a poignant and moving story that is so hard to read at times but Harms tackles this sensitive subject matter with empathy and honesty. Narrator Sarah Puckett has the perfect voice for this story. She makes each character come alive, allowing me to feel all their complex emotions like fear, anticipation, passion and love. This is a great start to the Montgomery Men series. I really liked Ashton’s brothers who were so supportive and intriguing. I can’t wait to listen to their stories next!
Kingsley was in an abusive marriage with no way out. She’s expected to portray the perfect happy wife in public. At a gala, Adeline offered to help her to escape . The decision had to be immediate.
Kiera/Kingsley found herself with new hair, new identity, new location. She meets Ashton , as she was dropping off legal papers at his firm. He was intrigued by her, no woman ever has turned him down for a date. That was the beginning of him pursuing her. She felt the heat/electricity between them! she reminds herself , make no friends, don’t get close, don’t fall in love.
Ashton eventually breaks down her defenses and she goes out with him. He feels there us something she not telling him. I love how protective he was of her, sensing that there was someone in her past that hurt her. The story is full of romance, hidden truths, mystery, lies.
Sarah Puckett narration is phenomenal. She is a master storyteller giving life and emotions to all the characters.

This is the first book in the Montgomery Men Series. OMG! I love this story. The story reminds me Sleeping with the Enemy. Domestic Abuse isn’t an easy subject to talk about, and C.A. Harms did it wonderfully. Kiera and Ashton’s story is breathtaking. Kiera is a beautiful and strong character. Ashton, a handsome billionaire, is strong, very alpha, and protective. They share a strong and undeniable chemistry. Their story is passionate and intense. I love C.A. Harms’s writing. Sarah Puckett did an outstanding job with the narration. Her performance is breathtaking. This is a great team author/narrator. I enjoyed listening to this audiobook, and I totally recommend it. Now, I can’t wait for the next book in the Series, Heat, Beckett Montgomery’s story! #AudiobookObsession
Rush
Montgomery Men Series, Book 1
By: C.A. Harms
Narrated by: Sarah Puckett
There are some topics that are difficult to cover, and domestic abuse is one of them. CA Harms writes this story of strength and courage to break out and find your happiness. Kinsely is married to a very powerful man. In the beginning he is wonderful, but then his true colors come out. The abuse is intolerable and when she is given the opportunity to leave, she takes it and runs. Now living a new life, she never plans on falling in love again. But she never counted on Ashton Montgomery! These characters are so believable, I felt I was right in the story with them. Kinsley is vulnerable, yet strong. I love how she took the chance to get away and try to build a new normal for herself. Ashton is your alpha male who does not stop til he gets what he wants, and he wants Kinsley. His personality is strong, but not overpowering so I could see how Kinsley fell. Harms writes with just the right amount of angst, incredible passion and compassion. I loved their story, and after meeting the other Montgomery brothers, can’t wait to hear their stories too.
This kind of book needs a narrator who can build up the emotion, and run with it. The choice of Sarah Puckett is spot on. She fills the story with emotional pulls, vulnerability and passion. As Kinsley, I loved her way of indecision with Ashton. You can feel the conflict inside her just with the inflection of Sarah’s voice and it makes me feel it too. Ashton’s alpha side definitely shines with Sarah’s portrayal, her male voice is strong and powerful. This is the kind of listen I love.

Kiera finds herself escaping hell, taking on a new identity and starting over. She stumbles into the love and protection she needs in Ashton while dropping off legal documents. He’s a sexy alpha billionaire, you’ve fallen in love with the type before. Their chemistry is instant, the pair could set water on fire.
Lex the fiery best friend may be a little over the top but I want to be his bosom buddy and confidant. Also if anyone stumbles across a set of brother like the Montgomery brothers please slide them my card.
This is definitely a romance with hints of underlying suspense.
I would recommend this to fans of Sleeping With The Enemy(Julia Roberts 1991)
I have read a few C.A. Harms books and this was right up there at the top of my favorites.
Kiera is such a strong lead character. Sadly she thinks that because she allowed a lot of bad things to happen to her that she is weak, but she doesn’t realize that making it through all that, especially for the reasons she did it is what makes her so strong in the end.
I love and hate(a little) Ashton. I hate him because of how forceful and domineering his is when he should realize that its exactly what is scaring her about their relationship, especially once he finds out everything about her past. But I loved him because he is exactly what she needed to move past it.
The Audio by Sarah Puckett was really great. This is the first book i’ve listened to that was narrated by her and I think she did an amazing performance.

A new to me author and I loved it, this is book one in a series but it can be read as a standalone, it’s HEA!
Very good storyline and characters that’s developed in to great personalities with flaws and all.
No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings
Good dialogues that helps the story moving forward.
The passion and intensity in the writing style is making the story come alive.
Narrator:
Always safe to listen to Sarah Puckett, a comfortable voice with clear pronunciation. She reads with passion and she’s one of the few female narrators that masters the male voice very well.
If you like a intense romance with passion and heat and a good narrator I recommend this one.

Rush
Montgomery Men Series, Book 1
By: C.A. Harms
Narrated by: Sarah Puckett
Another great heartfelt story by C.A. Harms, it is well written, well told and a bit of an emotional rollercoaster at times. The storylines and characters are interesting and well developed. The lead characters were likable and had great chemistry. I admire Kinsley’s strength and bravery to get out of her bad situation. Ashton, is one alpha of a man, but he was so good for Kinsley, though a few things he did pissed me off he did the right thing in the end. Shout out to some of the secondary characters, Lex, loved his personality, loved Ashton’s brothers personalities too, especially Know, I am looking forward to their stories. I highly recommend this book, it is enjoyable and entertaining. There is drama, angst, twists,a bit of suspense and a whole lot of Romance! Domestic abuse is not an easy topic to cover but C.A. Harms did a wonderful job with it, not everyone gets a happy ending but I like I did for Kinsley I would root for anyone who is in situation like hers. Thanks for this great story C.A. Harms! I hope the rest of the series makes to audible soon.
I listened to the Audible edition, Sarah Puckett is an awesome narrator and voice performer. She brings the characters to life, gives them their voice as well as heart and personality. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thanks for another great listen

I was pulled in from the beginning to the end. Kinsley’s story is not one for the faint hearted. She once thought she found her knight in shining armor, but what she found was a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Jase was an evil man whom I would have liked to seen strung up. I believe what happened to him and his father was too good. Hey what can I say I’m kinda blood thirsty when it comes to the way they treated her.
Kinsley is funny, sassy, and has a beautiful soul. She felt lost and was lucky enough to meet someone who was willing to help a stranger out. When she met Ash she was not looking for a man let alone the man whore he was. He is a strong dominating man who knows what he wants and who he wants. To be honest he did let Kinsley know from the start he plays to win and he always wins. He becomes her knight and proves to her that he is going to help her and protect her no matter what.
This book was the beginning of a new series featuring three very different brothers. This story featured Kinsley and Ashton. Kinsley had escaped an abusive situation and was trying to start a new life. Ashton was a CEO of a company that she delivered papers to. I really enjoyed their story. Add in Lex as her friend and Ashton’s assistant and there was humor to lighten up a serious story line.
Thank you for the privilege of reading this book! Well done
Oh my where to start with this one.. I adore this author, I devour her books whenever I have the chance and usually what I want to say just flows right out. RUSH is amazing, 5 stars really are not enough.
A woman running from the monster she married. An abusive, controlling prick whose actions against Kinsley are unspeakable. Creating a new life for herself but avoiding emotional and physical connection to anyone.
A man who can have anything he wants and what he wants is the one woman to tell him no.
Determined to break down her walls, can he be enough to protect her when her past comes knocking?
Secrets, lies, heartbreak, suspense, lust….RUSH has a little bit of everything, it’s a page turner that will grab you from the first chapter and keep you hooked until the very end. Based off book one, I believe this series is going to quickly become a new favorite for me.
