Unjustly labeled a flirt, Kitty Beaucroft is in need of a fiancé. Lord Philip Butler’s father wants him to settle down before he can become a landowner. With no intention of following through, Kitty and Philip enter into a temporary engagement as a means to an end. Unfortunately, someone knows the truth and is determined to expose them. Will the ruse turn into a romance before it’s too late?
This was a well written and fun read. The society, morals and setting were very realistic of the time period. The characters were well developed and the plot was very well done. A very good Victorian Romance.
While the kindle version could have used some editing (the same goes for the second book in this series,) I enjoyed reading it. There was nothing unexpected or unusual in the story, and while it was light on historical details, it was fun to read–a no-brainer for sure.
If you’re looking for a romance novel that doesn’t involve too much thought, is fun to read, and has an interesting premise in spite of being able to see the outcome from a mile away, then this is a good read.
It is an easy read! The characters are easy to like or dislike! I read it in one afternoon.
Boring
Painted themselves into a corner and it worked out well.
The hero is a true gentleman and the heroine is likable. It was an enjoyable read.
A cute quick read 3 1/2 stars
