She’s a take-no-prisoners fireball. He’s a sweet-talking charmer. It could be love…if they don’t kill each other first.Hotshot lawyer Luanne Price may not believe in happily ever after, but she’d do just about anything to earn her absentee father’s love. So when he waltzes back into her life with a plan for her to marry his business associate, she foolishly agrees. But on the wedding day, … But on the wedding day, things go south. Fast. Luanne’s desperate to get away, even if that means hitching a cross-country ride with the infuriating Jack Avery.
Jack needs to get Luanne out of his system. He’ll watch her tie the knot and forget about her. Once she’s married to another man, then she’ll be off-limits forever. Solid plan. Until he spots her army-crawling through the bushes to escape the Wedding of the Season.
He knows he should let someone else deal with the runaway bride. But if there’s one thing Jack has never been able to do, it’s resist Luanne. Will their romance rev up on the open road, or will Jack and Luanne crash and burn?

I absolutely loved this book. I listened to the audio version and I laughed out loud so many times. So we’ll written. The characters are amazing and the steam building between Luann and Jack is just about perfect. You have to wait to get your hot resolution with this one and it’s worth the buildup. Can’t wait for the next one.
Running From A Rock Star #1 – Although there was a lot of laughter, causing snorts, there were some sad parts in this well written romance with lovable characters and family members. You can’t help but root for the main characters through the laughs and the tears. The side “romance” of the two lawyers will probably make a good story of their own. There was a little vulgar language and a couple short sex scenes, but not anything like the porn that’s passed off as romance novels; your imagination could still fill in the details. I love the fact that this author is a Texan and wrote as one. This is my kind of romance, real people working things out, communicating with each other. I contacted the author to review her books after I found the author’s page while surfing Amazon. 5*
Running With a Sweet Talker #2 – What a substantial read! I love all three books of this series. This is a well written, well thought out, fast paced story. The characters cover all types, blessed to rotten, and range from lovable to despicable. While the main characters have their lives torn asunder, they grow from their experiences and find the good in the end, releasing their woes. All the while, there’s still plenty of Albright humor to go with the difficulties the characters face in their journey. I contacted the author to review her books, which she graciously shared with me. 5*
OMG I don’t think that I have laughed so much at a book in a long time!
What a cute, funny and heartwarming story! It was definitely not what I expected given the title, it was more. There is more depth to this story that a bride simply running away from her groom on her wedding day.
Jack is the one who ends up “rescuing” Luanne when she decides to run. But there is more to their story. They have a history. One Luanne doesn’t want to talk about but also one that keeps drawing her to him.
****Her back still tingled where he’d touched her. His fingers… and his tongue… and his love bite. And he’d been so kind to her. Maybe there was more to the arrogant playboy Jack Avery than she’d originally thought.
“No offense, Thumbelina. It takes a lot more than the likes of you to take me down.”
Nope, still an arrogant jerk.
When they leave the wedding, a lot of unexpected things happen. Things I won’t say as to not spoil the story, but let me tell you, some of it was quite hilarious! And some of it was emotional and some of it was pretty steamy! Well worth the read!
I will say this though, I think this story could have used the help of a proofreader or beta reader. (Sorry, that must be the beta reader/proof reader in me, I seem to notice these things lol) A few inconsistencies had me going “wait, what?” Lol!!!! Nothing major, just a few things like, when Luanne ran, she didn’t have her purse or anything. Later in the story she mentioned having a water bottle in her purse when Jack asked her where it came from. Jacks wallet was stolen, but later in the story, he pulls out his wallet to get money (which they also didn’t have – it was stolen lol). And no cell phone, they bought a burner phone – that was a flip phone, but later when they got a text it says they swiped to answer a text. That’s on a smart phone not a flip phone. Lol!!
Even still, I really much enjoyed the book and those things don’t really bother me enough to not read the first book in their series. I’m curios about Gavin and Scarlett’s story and I’m sure jack and Luanne are probably in their story. (I choose this one first since they can be read as standalone because it had audible avail with the ebook on KU and I was traveling so wanted to listen to it lol!)
Both books “Running from a Rock Star” and “Running from a Sweet Talker” are very funny romantic comedies with quick witted dialogue and funny characters
