This book is funny, and sweet and all the things a good romance book should be. I really enjoyed it!
Jack and LuAnne have a great story. Their chemistry is off the charts and their banter is snarky and funny. LuAnne’s escape from her wedding is one of the funniest ever! Jack comes to her rescue and ends up getting more than he bargained for. Then they are off on the road trip adventure of a lifetime and the reader gets to hitch a ride. They are two strong, self-assured characters with chemistry that cannot be denied. LuAnne learns to stand up to her daddy and Jack’s world is rocked by some revealed truths along the way. They learn to look out for each other and support each other in the process.
LuAnne is a heroine full of fire and spunk. I loved her. Jack surprised me by having layers I didn’t anticipate and I found myself really drawn in and falling for him. His charm was undeniable, but the good guy under the swagger made me fall in love.
I really enjoyed this book
I really loved this book. Great second book in Jami Albright’s Brides on the Run series.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I actually began reading it just based on a blurb the author posted on her Facebook page. Only 3% into the book and it had me cracking up laughing. If you enjoy ROMCOM’s with a HEA that has wonderful characters (well, some) then I recommend reading this. I’m currently reading the third book and am liking it that one, too. Thank you Mrs. Albright for writing such a wonder series.
I hate to say it, but I think I might actually like this one more than book one – of course as both books are wonderful, you’ll have to read them yourself to see if you agree. This is the story of Luanne and Jack, whom we meet in the first book and it’s basically hate at first sight. I think the reason I love this book is because you get to see both the characters, peeling back the layers and being real people with real baggage. Luanne and Jack get to know the person behind the smooth talking persona and realize that first impressions are not always right. This was laugh out loud, tissue grabbing, hot sex reading, and I enjoyed every moment.
Running with a Sweet Talker is book two from Albright’s Brides on the Run Series. This is Luanne and Jackson’s story. If you read Running from a Rockstar then you were introduced to Lou and Jack. They are Gavin and Scarlett’s best friends. They are both lawyers, smart, professional and always trying to one up the other with snarky comments. This story was fun to read with the right amount of OMG moments and lots of soul searching. Jackson and Luanne aka Thumbelina will go on a road trip to find answers, family and love. They are both running from past, present and their inner voice. The road will lead to new beginnings for them both but can they make it to their destination without bruised egos, broken hearts or will the lust for eachother bring them so much more. So get ready to laugh out loud, cry and ahhh from beginning to end.
I highly recommend reading Running with a Sweet Talker but I would read Running from a Rockstar first because it makes this story more enjoyable. Happy Reading!!!
This Enemy to Lover was hilarious and entertaining. From the beginning of the book it jumps right into action. What I like is this can be a stand alone however the first book was so much fun I highly recommend reading that.
From the first book Luanne is Scarlett’s ruthless lawyer best friend. Jack is Scarlett’s husband’s charming lawyer best friend. Of course two lawyers coming together you can see the hard headed and funny banter to be had.
Both are struggling with family issues that whether they like it or not, they are forced together and need each other.
My heart broke for what Jack and Luanne we’re going through. Broke but felt good that they had one another.
The events that happen are a little crazy but that made this more entertaining. What’s not fun about crazy off the wall situations. Just makes you laugh and shake your head even more.
This was such a fun escape from reality, I recommend this southern crazy RomCom.
Luanne and Jack have had a lust-hate relationship for some time. He witnesses her running from her own wedding and lends a hand to help her escape. From there it is one constant emotional upheaval with family, and the two of them are each others support. There journey north is action packed and the revelations are heartbreaking and heartwarming.
This is the second book in the Brides on the Run Series, a Romantic Comedy. Luanne and Jack’s story is hilarious, sweet, and beautiful. Jack is a sweet talker, and a handsome character! I loved him! Luanne is a lovely and sassy character. I loved to follow them in their journey. This was such a fun listen. Jennifer Grace did a great job with the narration. I enjoyed listening to this audiobook. Now, I can’t wait for the next book in the Series, Running from the Law.
Running with a Sweet Talker
Brides on the Run, Volume 2
By: Jami Albright
Narrated by: Jennifer Grace
I am hooked on this series and on Jami Albright! So happyto have found books like this, that are not only funny and have me laughing out loud, but have some meat to the story. Jack and Luanne’s story is just that, starting us out with Luanne running from her wedding. Jack helps her getaway, and their fun begins. Now there is definite sparks between these two, so this just aids in building their relationship. It’s a slow burn, fast talking, emotional journey. Now, what’s to like about this story? Luanne is smart and spunky, but has a side that wants to be loved by her family. Willing to do just about anything for them will be her downfall. Jack is so swoon worthy, I was wondering what his role would be other than to build her confidence, but Albright makes him so much more. With a surprise to his story, we get to see insights to his personality that were not evident. His sweet talking facade keeps his layers hidden. I loved the book, it’s complexity, it’s hilarity and I can’t wait to start the third in this series.
Jennifer Grace’s portrayal of the story is spot on. She has amazing comedic timing, leaving me smiling. She quickly can fade into some very emotional scenes without skipping a beat, and her voices are fantastic. She is a narrator I will be watching more from.

Wonderful addition to the Brides series! Love love love it & will definitely read again. It kept me on the edge of my seat and I didn’t know what was going to happen next!
This book was totally enjoyable. What an adventure they had as they discovered more about themselves and each other.
It was hilarious, heart warming and I felt for Jack and Luanne for what they were going through. Jack’s new family was wonderful in how they just welcomed them both into the fold. It melts my heart when a guy allows himself to be vulnerable, even if it was just to the he loves. Sigh
This book hooked me immediately with the opening image of a bride army-crawling away from her wedding, dress and all. Jack and Luanne are hilarious, well-drawn characters. She’s a feisty lawyer with daddy issues (that she is well aware of and trying to overcome) and he’s a charming executive who just learned a family secret that has turned his world upside down. They have a bit of a history, and so much chemistry. And now they’re stuck on a road trip together (with only one bed!). This was a sweet, funny, hot, road-trip, enemies-to-lovers romance! So many tropes that I adore, packed into a wild romp of a romance.
Jack…dreamy, sexy, arrogant Jack.
Behind that mask of confidence and sexiness and pure male goodness, hides a vulnerable man… who isn’t such a tough guy all the time.
Luanne is a little spitfire who intrigues Jack.
He can’t resist her sass.
He’s drawn to her beauty.
The chemistry between these two was electric. Their relationship was fun, never boring. Both being attorneys, they can’t help but try to outsmart the other.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching them try to stay away from each other.
They irritated each other.
They picked at each other.
Yet they watched out for each other.
They needed each other.
The slow burn was delicious.
This was another fabulous story in the series with more excellent writing that made me fall in love with everything about it.
I immediately dove into book 3!
This was a LOL read, it seriously had so many zany things happen to Jack and Luanne. Luanne is caught running on her wedding day and Jack happens to have a getaway car. Their adventure begins and they keep getting sucked into one another, and they have a road trip of a lifetime. They discover a lot about themselves especially Luanne, she realizes she is tougher and braver and has an amazing superpower. Jack was right there helping her through it all. They had each other back no matter what. Great easy read.
This was my favorite of the three as I liked all of the characters and was really happy when this couple got their HEA!
Very enjoyable book! loved the characters. Luanne and Jack were quite the couple. If you want a very easy book, and just some good romance and love, this is the one!
I LOVED this book! The first book in this series, “Running from a Rock Star” was when I was first introduced to this author and this series. After reading the other one I was quick to grab this book. Just the time that Luanne and Jack spent in the first book was enough for me to know that I wanted to read this one. And I enjoyed every last minute of it. This author is now on my mental file of favorite authors list.
Both Jack and Luanne were complex, funny, hearts as big as all out doors, mouthy, characters. And yes, some of their conversations were definitely for adult people. A few of their situations were too! More than once family blinded sided both of them. At first I thought only Luanne was going to have to deal, but Jack had something come at him out of the blue that was Mega serious.
I laughed a lot as I read this book. Jack calling Luanne, “Thumbelina” made me smile and made her mad. Several people thought of her as this tiny pixie, but Jack knew she was a fireball. Jack had many “faces” when it came to cover up his emotions. He had come from nothing and fought his way up.
There were plenty of good addition secondary people in the story too. Jack’s family being a part of that. Luanne’s father was also something else, written in a way that you can see who he really is. All of the characters had a depth.
So, laughter, depth of characters, unusual situations, some serious life challenges, great main characters that pretty much says why I really loved this book. Keep ’em coming author.
Whew! Talk about a sweet talker. Jack is a sinfully good looking man with a mouth that could sweet talk.you into doing just about anything. And Luanne don’t take no shit when it comes to things. This book had me laughing so much. So good. If you’re looking for a romcom this is it.
Pfiouuuhhh…
The opening scene got me rolling of the floor while laughing, snorting!
And it was just the beginning…
What a road trip it was, from the escape of the weeding to the highwaymen old ladies, the striptease contest and so many more moments.
I love Jack, he is so much more than this grinning prim and proper man, what a kind heart he has, so compassionate, fun, smart, ready to defend the weak and the oppressed, being a wall for Luanne to lean against.
Luanne is an amazing but so broken woman hiding behind her smart mouth. But with Jack, she begins to open up, to realize her past must not guid her future.
As I loved Scarlett’s family, I definitively adore Jack’s one, they are aware of their flaws but they try their best to not fail their loved ones even if they did big mistakes.
How I hated Luanne’s father, how she tools so long to see through him, but what a little girl would do for her Prince Charming dad…
What ever, don’t miss to follow Jack and Luanne journey to forgiveness, truth and love.
