Ivy’s husband has always been a cheat and a liar, but when he gets caught up in a game of espionage he flees the country with his latest bimbo, and Ivy has finally had enough. She packs up the kids and moves back to her hometown to escape the fallout. Trouble is — her problems don’t stay behind in California, but follow her all the way to Omaha, Nebraska.
The FBI is tracking her every move, … move, hoping she’ll lead them to her fugitive husband, while evil men threaten her family’s safety if she doesn’t give them what they want.
Agent Samson Sinclair is assigned to keep an eye on Ivy. He is her only ally against threats and suspicions that come from every side. But can he keep their relationship professional when he finds himself falling for the woman he’s supposed to be protecting?
Ivy’s attempt to assemble the broken pieces of her life may prove harder than she anticipated. Especially on her own. When the past intrudes on the present Ivy is forced to deal with why she ran from God in the first place and whether faith, once lost, can ever really be found again.

The plot is so unique that it makes it difficult to put the book down. The characters are interesting. Made me go on to read the rest of this author’s books. No bad language or sex scenes. Just a great read.
I am generally not a contemporary fiction fan but this storyline hooked me. How often does this happen: a man gets caught up in greed and the lure of the illicit and destroys his wife or wife and children by his selfishness. I wasn’t disappointed that I wandered from my usual fare. Definí recommend.
Excellent written. Enjoyed every page. Good characters, twisting plot make it a page-turner. Especially liked how the Christian faith intertwined with the story.
I could hardly put this down, liked it so much I immediately bought the 2nd book in this series (two total) and another one of her books also. The books were affordable and spell binding. Thank you Barbara Ellen Brink!!!
Very interesting and great read
Story of how easily we can make wrong choices, yet thru all the drama God can redeem
Great book! I highly recommend it.
I have now read all of Barbara Brink’s Second Chances series and the Double Barrel Mysteries, and have enjoyed all of them. I especially enjoyed the twists and turns of the mystery series, not being able to guess the outcome until the last minutes. I will definitely read more of her books. Good job! I have also recommended them to friends.
I enjoyed reading Running Home. Ivy has run away from pain and fear. Read to find out how she makes it to safety and back to her loving Heavenly Father. Course Samson helps too. You’ll enjoy too!!!
Was not expecting to enjoy this book. I really did.
This is a book that I did not want to put down. I really enjoyed this well written book.
Good read. Would recommend this book.
It was a can’t put down a sort of book. You just want to read and read and read no matter what time of night it was. Highly recommend it.
It is so refreshing to read an exciting book without the language and sex scenes that have no merit to the plot. I loved the storyline.
For the most part, I enjoyed the action and characters of this novel. The book was a quick read…I call it “mind candy”…and I appreciate the strong moral tone and great biblical message of the story. I wish it were edited more carefully. As an English teacher, I found the misspellings very distracting (damning/damming and desert/dessert).
Easy, quick read, about faith and trust in bad circumstances, with a sweet romance.
Loved this book – characters easy to like and be sensitive to their sense of what is right to do. Great to see how characters grow in their realization of WHO God is and the forgiveness that HE offers to them.
While I enjoyed the story, the comma usage was messed up. It was as if the comma fairy sprinkled commas everywhere without concern as to their proper placement. It made the dialogue in my head sound like William Shatner. Decent editing would vastly improve this book. It was a good story, though.
I would recommend this book
Great read.
