One night of passion. Two second chances. Three little texts . . . Former child star, Charlie Klein, is in a world of trouble. She’s broke, jobless, and no longer famous–except with the IRS. She’s ready to run, so an emergency call from Texas is all the excuse she needs to get out of Hollywood. But she doesn’t expect to crash into the sheriff of her hometown, the boy she loved and lost. One look … and lost. One look at Hank Odom confirms what her heart has always known . . . She never stopped loving him.
Unlike the men in his family, Hank’s a do-the-right-thing kind of guy. When his cheating, soon-to-be ex-wife texts him wanting a second chance – or a twentieth chance – he’s determined to honor his vows. One problem? His traitorous heart has never forgotten the woman who just blew back into town.
One night of passion. Two second chances. Three little texts. And nine months of OMG!

Charlie and Hank’s story has so many elements to love I am unsure where to start. This is a second chance romance with a lot of depth. Charlie and Hank each have baggage they need to get over. They have plenty of chemistry, but there are a few obstacles in their way. They have to overcome more than average in order to get the HEA they both deserve. I love that Charlie takes control of her life for the first time. I appreciate that this doesn’t come without a few stumbles and that trusting anyone is difficult for her. I love that Hank has never stopped loving Charlie, though it takes him a little time to be completely honest with himself on that one. I really appreciate that he tries so hard to do the right thing, even when that is very hard. I really loved the relationships with the secondary characters in this crazy small town environment. The book is well written with well-developed and complex characters. It was really a delight that I am sure I will reread in the future.
I loved it! He is a great guy trying to do the right thing. She is trying to protect her baby, and her heart. How they figure that out makes a great story!
I LOVE second chance romance! The though of two people, finding each other when they need them most is beautiful to me! Hank and Charlie are no different. I so enjoyed these characters and the authenticity the author gave them. They were both very broken in their own ways, what better way to fix “the broken” than to heal each other! This story is every bit the laugh out loud comedy I expected and the romance and heart wrenching pain of love that I had hoped for! If you haven’t read the Brides On The Run series, what the hell are you waiting for? Go on, you know you want to read them!
I love the Brides on the Run series and book 3 did not disappoint. If you’re looking for something new this is the series I’d suggest. Nice long books with laugh out loud moments, and book 1 is my favourite book in a long, long, time!
A wonderful follow up in this series! I have been waiting for this book and was not disappointed. I did how ever want to yell at Hank a few times during the book but I get why he was so stubborn at times. A great read that will make your weekend.
Hank and Charlie have had this connection and love from their childhood/teenage years until instant connection when Charlie returns back in town years later. There is tension but not so much you are annoyed and want it over.
Hank’s loyalty and sense of honor both is heartwarming yet at times makes you want to slap him up the head.
Charlie has a crap life for her. Yes a child star but more against what she wanted. A life of doing what others wanted then stealing her happiness. What she has gone through makes you wonder how she holds it together.
Neither Hank nor Charlie are perfect and they both have their struggles. The most important thing is they come back to each other.
This was fun, a tad tension but very addictive. I’m very happy that I picked up this series. Kind of sad that there is only one more left in the series.
Childhood sweethearts finally get the chance to reconnect. Although there are many twists and turns to their happily ever after. The story is engaging, entertaining and at time frustrating. Wonderful characters.
This book is funny, and sweet and all the things a good romance book should be. I really enjoyed it!
When her grandfather gets hurt in a car accident, former TV star Charlie Klein goes back to her hometown and finds out that not only is she broke, but also that she owes the IRS!
She runs into Hank Odom, her ex-boyfriend and current town sheriff and they have one night together, thinking that maybe the time is finally right for them—until she sees the text messages his cheating wife sent him!
Hank is trying his best to make his marriage work and prove he’s not cut from the same cloth as his dad and brothers, but then he finds out that Charlie is pregnant. With his baby.
This well-written book has relatable, three-dimensional characters. I like how Charlie and Hank “fixed” (for lack of a better word) their respective issues by “fixing” each other.
Jennifer Grace did a wonderful job narrating these books.
Running from the Law is a second chance, small-town contemporary romance written in the third-person narrative. It’s a standalone that ends with a HEA. No cliffhanger.
I received this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.
This is the third book in the Brides on the Run Series, a Romantic Comedy. Charlie and Hank’s story is fun, intriguing, and sweet. This is a great second chance to love, and surprise baby story. Jennifer Grace did a great job with the narration. I enjoyed this story, and I highly recommend it. Now, I can’t wait for the next and last book in the Series, Running With After a Heartbreaker.
Running from the Law
Brides on the Run, Book 3

Pod. Need I say more? When you find out about Pod, it’s impossible not to fall in love. This book is so much fun, I could not stop listening. Featuring child star Charlie Klein, we find her broke, without a job and with her grandfather in the hospital. Life cannot get much worse. Or can it? She runs into her high school sweetheart, Hank Odom, and after a night of passion, finds out he’s married!!!! And our story begins. In true Jami Albright style, this book had me laughing the entire time. It’s seriousness of learning who you are, what your made of and how to deal with it is all there, letting us live through Charlie as she grows up and takes control of her life. She is a force to be reckoned with and a joy to get to know. Hank is strong, loyal and just trips over himself! This makes him so endearing as he tries to come to some difficult life decisions. Add in his family, some cameos from Gavin and Scarlett and the addition of Hailey and it’s a book you do not want to miss! I cannot wait for Hailey’s story next!! This series is blast to listen to and it’s highly recommended.
Jennifer Grace continues her amazing narration. I am loving her voice, finding her the perfect fit for this series. I am definitely looking for more of her work.

I loved it
Loved, loved, loved this!!
“Charlie and Hank forever.”
This series has quickly become a favorite.
The cast of characters is so lovable and hilarious and FUN and I just want to be their friends and hang out with them ALL THE TIME.
In this story, we get more humor, snark, sass…all of that RomCom goodness we love. It’s also full of so much heart and warm-fuzzy feel-good moments that make you go awwww. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough.
Luckily when I finished this, book #4 had just released! Perfect timing!!
This the the third book in the Brides on the Run series and this is just as good as the first two. Jami Albright writes with such humor and emotion that it is a pleasure to get lost in her stories.
Charlie is a former child star who left her small town for LA with her mother. From that point on Charlie had no control over her life and lived in a LA bubble. Fast forward and Charlie’s mother takes all of her money, her agent, publicist and lawyer try to take their pound of flesh as well. Charlie comes back to her hometown to look after her grandfather who was injured in an accident. A chance meeting in Austin with her one true love of her life, Hank, leaves her in even bigger trouble. Penniless and pregnant by another woman’s husband, Charlie has to take control of her life and learn to be a grown up. This is a great series and it is fun that some of the characters switch over from book to book, although each is a standalone story. I do think Hailey needs to find happiness next and I think a very handsome singer could be just her type.
This was my least favorite of the three. The plot was really good, but I found the H to be a doormat a lot of the time. I liked the h, but I feel the two of them would never work this out due to his misplaced loyalty.
What a great book! I do love me a baby book! Men trying to do the right thing are rare but Hank really pushed his luck. He has seen the turmoil men can cause by not following through on the commitments with their families. Charlie loves with everything she has. She loved her friends, her work, her childhood sweetheart Hank, her family and this little pod growing inside her. She’s also been burned many times in her life. Is she willing to keep risking it? Will Hank come to his senses about his life? Enjoy the road these two follow and try to find their way.
If you have been reading this series you will not be disappointed at all with this one. A story of discovery for sure what is important out of life and getting there. Charlie has some hard decisions to make and loyal Hank has to figure out that Charlie is his future. A page turner I couldn’t put it down.
I loved reading this book. It is full of fun quirky characters that will have you laughing page after page. I enjoyed all the sassy banter, and the chemistry between Charlie and Hank is amazing. It has a great story line that will keep your interest with twist and turns you wont expect. I highly recommend.
I loved Jami’s entire Brides on the Run books, but Running from the Law is my new favorite! Do yourself a favor, if you love second-chance romances with hot sheriffs and quirky heroines, then grab this now! It’s funny, sexy and so addictive.
Jami Albright has done it again! This book will keep you turning pages (or touching the screen) until the very end. Don’t plan on dinner family.
Charlie Kay is the It girl in Hollywood. Thrown into the superstar life by her controlling and money hungry mother, she becomes famous beyond her imagination as well as rich. But now she is broke and running back home to escape the very people that made her a household name. Her mother has taken all her money including the money she had put away for her Pops. Now the only people who want her is the IRS. Then she sees him. The boy who held her heart so many years ago. All grown up and looking hotter than ever. What can happen when their feelings collide and fuels a night of passion? Oh, I don’t know. Maybe a text from his wife. There’s a mood kill. She flees and leaves a piece of her heart in the hotel room.
Hank Odom is the sheriff in his small town. He and Charlie were in love when her life was uprooted. When she didn’t come back or try to reach out to him, he moves on, marrying a girl who has a habit of cheating and lying. He is now face to face with the girl that broke his heart and those old feelings expose themselves. Their night of passion turns into the worst night when his soon-to-be ex shows up (they were on a break, insert Ross and Rachel here). Charlie finds out and once again runs from him taking a piece of his heart and maybe a little something else. Committed to trying to make his marriage work and not be like his dad or brothers, Hank goes back to his wife. That doesn’t last long. Now his focus is on the girl who truly holds his heart.
I loved Running from a Rockstar, and this story maybe above that for me. Jami Albright, thanks for making me laugh while I fell in love with Hank and Charlie. Also, thank you for naming the JP after me, Norris. I can’t wait to see where you will take us next.
