I. Loved. This. Book. Sweet with steamy moments, HOT HOT HOT hero (more Gavin !! MORE GAVIN!), LOVED Scarlett, and Aunt Honey is HILARIOUS.
Plus, there’s the biscuit scene. I laughed so hard I scared my cats. I would read this book again just for the biscuit scene.
This is a great book to take oneself away from the daily grind.
This book was hilarious and the laughter was sorely needed in my life. My husband just kept looking at me as I sat and giggled as I read.
Gavin is certainly one of the best rock star heroes I have read. He is a sexy but wounded soul that appeals to me on every level. I really enjoyed the chemistry between him and Scarlett and could definitely empathize with her inability to resist him.
Scarlett is figuring out how being herself does not make her into her mother, and that was also fun to read as she grows through the process. She is a spunky heroine buried in nice and the words that come out of her mouth are a treat.
I really enjoyed this and can’t wait to read the rest of the Brides on the Run series.
Author Jami Albright is just so hilariously funny. This book is one of those books that once I started reading it I could not put it down. It was just that good. I actually stayed up all night long reading it. YES I read past my bedtime!!! Scarlett and Gavin have this chemistry that zips between them and off the pages of my kindle. It is just magic to read. It is a RomCom that can not be read only one time but one I know I will be reading time and time again. There are so may other characters in this book that I hope our authors gives each of them books all their own as well. I am off to order the next book because well yep I l must have more Brides on the Run and Jami Albright!!
I read this on an airplane trip from Austin to Montana. Got a lot of stares because I was laughing so hard.
Normally the “Happily Ever After” gig just isn’t my thing. Every once in a while someone talks me into a book. I am ever so grateful they did! This book is FANTASTIC. I thought I would read it over a few days and was up till 2 am reading it, trying desperately not to wake the husband while I swallowed my laughter.
Funny, witty, unexpected, and wholly enjoyable, grab a copy of it today!
(BONUS: this week, as I write this, this book is FREE on Amazon!!)
One of the funniest and entertaining books I have ever read, and I read A LOT. Jami Albright takes you on a wild and hilarious ride from the “Are you praying?” comment to the exit scene at the elevator! I can’t remember a book that had me laughing this hard. Her characters pull you in from the very beginning through the last page. Be sure you read the followup “Running from a Rock Star One Year Later”. You won’t be disappointed.
WARNING: the f-bomb is used throughout this book. While I hate that word, it is used at appropriate moments and not just thrown around.
What happens in Vegas doesn’t stay there. This one is so good and so funny with such delightful characters that I actually have read it twice. It has sequels and I have read some of those too.
I bought this book a while ago and just read it today. Yup started and finished it, paid no attention to anything else! I couldn’t put this book down! I laughed, I cried, I hollered at the characters sometimes. Gavin, a struggling rock star and Scarlett a sweet southern Texas girl happen to meet in Vegas, and we all know what tends to happen there. The Sass from Scarlett had me laughing, the humor Gavin brought even though he was going through a lot made me smile. The secondary characters added so much depth to the story! I loved the writing, it instantly pulled me in and I had a hard time putting it down to do other things. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
This book is funny, and sweet and all the things a good romance book should be. I really enjoyed it!
Running from a Rock Star
Brides on the Run, Book 1
By: Jami Albright
Narrated by: Jennifer Grace
So, this is my first Jami Albright audio, and I spent the entire time with a smile on my face! Between happy moments and hysterical scenes, Albright had me enjoying this first in the Brides on the Run series. This story features Gavin and Scarlett find themselves in bed and married after a night of fun and drinking. Scarlett wants out, but Gavin is in need of a rock star reputation face lift. What better way than with his new wife? A little convincing and an unexpected circumstance keep these two married, and their life together begins. The question is, will they be able to fool the public? Is it an act? Will they survive each other? You will love to listen to this as you laugh with them and love with them. It’s a great start to the series!
Jennifer Grace is a new to me narrator and I enjoyed her performance. She has great comedic timing and her voices easily distinguishable and entertaining. I look forward to more by her.

Scarlett Kelly doesn’t want to be compared to her mother, the town floozy who left when Scarlett was young. Gavin Bain is an international rock star who is silently reeling from the death of his best friend. While vacationing in Las Vegas, the good girl & the bad boy end up married! Scared to death, Scarlett runs home and Gavin follows her. He wants to stay married, to try and help clean up his image. Is he crazy, or on to something that could be forever? I highly suggest, you pick up this book and read it for yourself! Jami has written this story so very well. It has serious sexual chemistry, a bit of a mystery(trust me, you’ll like it) and to top it all off, a crazy aunt that will keep you in stitches! No kidding, you will laugh out loud several times! I can’t wait to check out more from Jami, I was very impressed.
Wow this book had a lot of ups and downs. The emotional roller coaster that Scarlett and Gavin has to overcome and get through together was something. Add in a vindictive bank owners daughter, the media, unknown son her aunt and a wild night that ended with a ring. You have a great story.
Well, Ms. Albright should certainly consider that she achieved her “job” objective with this novel, as this reader certainly did laugh out loud in a number of places in the story. Snorting, no no no …. nasty … he he he. Excellent: repartee, characterizations (some delightfully quirky), story and dialogue. Just because I noted that I found this story filled with laughs, does not mean that there were no points in the story with pathos. Too, Ms. Albright woven through this romantic comedy a thread of a very serious issues impacting children. Great blend in the ability to bring a societal concern to the foreground yet balancing this with laughter. On to book number two in this series ….
I absolutely loved this!!!
Running From a Rock Star was a delightfully delicious RomCom that had me smiling, laughing, and swooning quite often.
Full of so much humor and sexiness and feel-good moments, I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough.
Gavin & Scarlett were adorable and lovable and their chemistry sent sparks right off the pages.
Scarlett tried so hard to be a good girl, she doesn’t want to be anything like her mother. So she has to behave. But her inner wild child can not resist the charm of Gavin Bain. And who could blame her?? My goodness, that man is pure sex. And he’s kind. And has a big…heart.
It was fun, it was hilarious, and it was sexy! I can’t say enough good things about this. If you love a well-written, steamy RomCom, you’ll want to get this on your TBR right now!
This was my first read by this author and I look forward to reading EVERYTHING she writes.
I couldn’t wait to dive into book 2!
This is my first book by this author and it wont be the last. This book is hilarious! I loved every minute of it! This is Gavin and Scarlett’s story.
Gavin needs to repair his image or his music career will go down the tubes. He’s also just learned he has a son he never knew existed! Gavin wants to settle down, and bribing his new wife to stay married may just fit everything into place.
Scarlett agrees to the ruse to help her family’s financial troubles even though she can hardly control herself around the rock star. As they search for Gavin’s son, will the cross-country adventure give them exactly what they’ve been missing or send them packing?
Love the whole Brides on the Run series! They are great books about finding yourself and where you are meant to be.
I don’t read a whole lot of contemporary romance, but the Running books by Jami Albright are some of my favorites.
First book in Jami Albright’s Brides on the Run Series. I loved it! Highly recommend Running From A Rock Star 😉
I’d heard good things about this book and it didn’t disappoint. It has drama, it has spice, but most of all it has you smiling the whole way through (apart from the times things are going bad for the characters). A highly entertaining, thoroughly enjoyable read.
