“This is a bad idea.”“The worst.” He placed his hands under her butt and lifted. “Should I stop?”“I’ll murder you if you do.”Hailey Odom’s life is out of tune. The bar she owns with her father is a Texas-sized money pit that she has four months to save. Her mean as a snake ex-husband is breaking their daughter’s heart daily. And the town of Zachsville hates her guts for something that was only … heart daily. And the town of Zachsville hates her guts for something that was only fifty percent her fault.
And oh, right, she just ran out on her own wedding.
Beau Callen’s life is hitting all the right notes. Dubbed “The Heartbreaker” by his adoring female fans, he’s living the country music stardom dream. At least until an “altercation” lands half his band in jail and the other half in the hospital, this rising star could use a temporary place to crash.
The last thing Hailey or Beau needs is a scorching hot romance messing with their plans. So when Hailey rents Beau her backyard guesthouse and passions blaze hotter than the Texas sun, their dreams are in serious danger of going up in flames.
To make it all work, they’ll have to keep their hands off each other and their eyes on the prize. Too bad their hearts are singing a different tune.
Don’t miss Running After a Heartbreaker—A hilarious friends-to-lovers, sexy musician with a heart of gold, determined single mom, small-town swoony romance.

Beau and Hailey what a ride. Beau is just starting out in his music career and Hailey has a bar that is cantankerous to say the least. They both have some baggage that they have to overcome. Hailey had some big things to realize and out grow. This story was a ride and I can’t wait for the next one! Give me a Beau any day!
I love Beau. He is such a heartwarming character. He thinks he knows what he wants, what he can and cannot do and have but he is so wrong about so many things. This book is uplifting, warm, sexy, infuriating and just plain good. The writing wraps around you like a warm blanket. I love Hailey from her kickass bar owner attitude to her little girl lost moments. Lottie pulls all of the threads and pieces together and makes it sparkle. I love all of the characters. They are all deep, well crafted and realistic. The storyline is believable and makes you want to live in these moments, these days, this time, this place. I can’t describe how much this story made me smile in my heart.

I have loved this entire series! Everyone from the first three stories, Scarlett and Gavin from Running from the Rock Star, Luanne and Jack from Running from the Sweet Talker, and Charlotte and Hank from Running from the Law are in this story because they are all connected in one way or another with Hailey and Beau. It is like getting together with old friends and catching up with what is going on.
Hailey is a single parent raising her daughter alone. She inherited her mom’s bar and has been working there since she was sixteen and found herself pregnant. When she found out and told her boyfriend, who was two years older and on the football team, he blew the biggest game for the school and had to marry her but made her life a living hell. When she caught him in bed with the next door neighbor who was her best friend, she kicked him out/he left. When he blew the game, the entire small town of Zachsville blamed her for that so she has been hiding herself working at the bar and volunteering for any committee to try to get back in their good graces. After 10 years, it hasn’t changed. She is getting ready to get married again, to a man she is comfortable with, but finds out that he thinks she should sell her bar, when she promised her mom on her deathbed that she would keep it open. She walked out right from the altar. She had already rented out her house since her and her daughter were supposed to move into her new husband’s home. When she walked out, she went back to her place. She would figure it out later, she was too tired. When someone breaks in at four am, she calls the local sheriff. When she finds out it was Beau, who she rented the house out to, she has to convince the lady working the board that it is her. (That part was so funny!)
Beau is a country singer. He signed a contract over a year ago with them understanding that Clyde, his grandfather who was dying of cancer, came first. Now that he has passed away, he has recorded his first album and is waiting the couple months until his tour starts. He is staying in the same small town outside of Austin that his cousin and label boss lives. With a big dog, he can’t just rent anywhere and the only place that will let him have his dog is Hailey, after she gets married and moves out. After a terrible gig out of town where one guy is in jail, the other in the hospital and one annoyed female singer, he gets back to his rental home and is confronted with a half nude Hailey. Not a bad sight as far as he is concerned. When he finds out she didn’t get married, he realizes that she is available, but his grandfather told him that a music career and relationships and kids don’t mix. You can have one or the other but not both. He is on his way up with the Number 1 hit song in the country. He can’t help flirting, hence his nickname the Heartbreaker, but Hailey is the first woman he has ever met that isn’t effected by his flirting and good looks. He can’t help being a good guy when he meets Lottie, he becomes not only her best friend, but also the father she never had. He was thoughtful, considerate, yet called her on it when she tried to manipulate him for trips to the park with his dog, ice cream or taking her fishing. He was perfect. He didn’t over do it, but he was there for her.
I could go on and on about all the things I loved about this story and the things her fantastic characters did, but you really need to read all the stories, but especially this one, the cherry on top!

I literally couldn’t put this book down. I was hooked right form the beginning. I knew by the sense of humor in this one I was going enjoy the ride this book took me on. I loved Beau and Hailey. I want a Beau for myself. Boy did he have me swooning while reading this book. There are some many little things he does for Hailey and her daughter Lottie that would win anyone’s heart over. Beau’s grand romantic gesture just put him over the top. Hailey broke my heart a lot in this one. How she holds herself back and lets the small minded ruin her happiness that’s why having Beau in her corner is all the more special. Hailey does some soul searching and growing in this one and it does a heart good. Then little Lottie will just steal your heart. I highly recommend this book. It’s my first book that I’ve read by Jami Albright and I can she has gained a new reader.
Awesome read! Who doesn’t want a Beau?! Albright does it again with this warm, loving, laugh out loud love story with just enough steam. Hailey and Beau try so hard not to get together, but the chemistry is undeniable. I loved every minute of this book. This is hands down one of my favorite series that can each be read as a standalone, but who’d wanna do that
This book was a cute, fun romantic read. If you’ve read any of the previous Brides on the Run series then you’ve already met Hailey, bar owner and single mom. After getting pregnant and cheated on by the town’s HS football star, Hailey just wants to be accepted and run her mother’s bar. But as with all small towns they never forget each and every mistake you make so the last thing she needs is to fall for a heartbreaker. Beau Callen is “the Heartbreaker” so dubbed by his first hit single, staying in the small town of Zachsville to get his career on track he has no intentions of falling in love and certainly not with the town’s most hated. An attraction that can’t be denied and young girl that finds her way into Beau’s heart this is the just the small town love story you’ve been waiting for. Another great read with a few of your favorite past characters revisited. A must read.
This was my first book by Jami Albright and I also started the series out of order. But let me tell you. I was so wrapped up into this book, I was swiping left like nobody’s business (kindle not tinder). I loved the characters and the chemistry they had with each other. Can’t wait to go back and read the rest of the series.
Wow! Another perfect read from Jami Albright, though I think this one is the favorite of the series.
Hailey (a bar owner) and Beau (rockstar/roommate) are so cute together. There is so must love and humor between these two that it warms your heart to read how they find their way to their HEA. Lottie was such a sweet and loving child that you can’t help rooting for her to find the daddy she has always longed for.
This book has it all, humor, sexy times, times to cheer and times to cry and a very happy ending.

This is such an awesome series to read and Beau and Hailey’s love story is lighthearted, romantic and at times emotional. It’s the perfect book to curl up with when you are looking for a little romance. Beau and Hailey start out as friends and their road to love evolves slowly and is expertly written. There are bumps along the way for them both with Hailey having most of the issues concerning their relationship and her past promises. I loved their banter and how Beau treated Lottie. I loved his patience with both the new ladies in his life and how his career took off. It was good to reconnect with Jack and Luanne and Scarlett and Gavin. This is a feel good contemporary romance that is heartwarming and soul searching with a beautifully written epilogue that is a fitting conclusion/beginning to Beau and Hailey’s story. I highly recommend this story.

This is a well written book with an entertaining story line. The author once again brings strong characters in Hailey and Beau and gives them an instant attraction and a hot chemistry. Trouble is , neither wants to move on it. There’s tons of emotions,a fun and sassy banter , it moves quickly and smoothly and is a heartfelt story. I enjoyed and would recommend reading.

An attention grabbing title that kept on giving through the story. Hailey and Beau’s story was built on chemistry and fate. Great characters and story line. The banter between these two was hilarious. A great book to add to this series!!
Lots of fun, but not as solid as the first three
Despite the book having plenty of the author’s trademark southern witticisms, the story wasn’t as emotionally satisfying as the previous books in the series. The book starts out strong, giving us engaging characters with real issues, but as the story progresses those issues are treated as if the author had painted herself into a plot corner with no escape except to leave footprints in the fresh paint and paint tracks throughout the rest of the story.
Hailey’s main goal in life is twisted to become the worst decision she could make, poor Lottie’s serious parental issues are all but swept under the rug, and Beau’s reasons for avoiding a relationship are quickly forgotten when replaced with regular (though never in a bed) romps. Even the people who let Hailey down the most are explained as having done her a favor, while her best friend successfully convinces Hailey that her hero was actually the villain.
Aside from the disappointing plot turns, this is a well-written book and it was lovely to reconnect with the couples from the earlier books in the series. Having already become emotionally invested in these characters from the earlier books it was impossible not to enjoy the time spent with them; I just wish that Hailey had been given a happier ending, one that satisfied her heart’s desire, rather than having her settle for believing she’d been wrong about everything for years. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
