Death should have been the end, but instead, it’s the start of my revenge… and they won’t see me coming.Evie survived a trip to hell, literally, to find herself somewhere even more dangerous, with the angels. Angels who do not want to let her leave, not without a paying a price for the life they saved. Angels. Demons. Protectors and more secrets than one world should hold. Who can Evie trust … should hold. Who can Evie trust when everything is a lie? When it’s time for the assassin to return, and to claim what is hers, who will be on her side?
18+ Reverse Harem romance.

So Book 2 leaves off where we book 1, with Evie dying and ending up in this in-between realm in Hell (with some other otherworldly creatures!). I thought the time with these new characters was well done but loved when she got to reunite with her future harem. I liked her integrity and honor with bringing them all back to the real world, after some had been stuck for hundreds of years. In terms of the guys, I totally fell in love with Azi in this one and some of the Protectors too (not Trex haha, warming up to him but he is making it difficult at every turn haha). I loved seeing more of Hali and now I want my own magical tiger haha. I loved Evie’s snark, her love of bacon (even thought I really don’t like it myself haha), and how the guys lower their shields/walls with her and finally see some progress being made with them. I also loved the tension between Evie and her sister (G Bailey did a phenomenal job with the baddies in this book) and how Evie remembers her childhood/raising and she tries to see the bigger picture (not just demon, just angels, just protectors). Book 2 really brought the plot together and now they can strengthen as a team.
For the narration, again 5/5 stars for the female narrator. The anger Evie had for her father was done brilliantly, I could feel it so well and it felt very believable. For the male narrators, I thought their reactions to Evie and slowly admitting their feelings and getting to know her more was adorable and very emotional. Again, some issues with one of the male narrators and then the changing accent/voice for Azi.
Overall, another amazing book in this paranormal RH series! On to book 3
guardians, demons, and bacon
i love this series so much! not only is evie a great heroine but her demon boyfriend rocks my socks. And her guardians are just the cherry on top. one sexy harem with plenty of bakon go around!
5 stars for Runes of Mortality by G. Bailey. This is book 2 in A Demons Fall series. I am loving every step of this series and let me just say this is starting to get steamy. Evie is just what we want in a heroine. She is a bada** , she is strong, protective, a fighter, sticks up for the underdog and so much more. All of the men bring something different to this group. Azi, Tex, Nix and Connor are there for Evie even if she might be gone. This book is filled with ups , downs, twist, and turns. I am diving into book 3 now.
TBR 2019 Challenge: 834 books (On stand still till series end)
Spoilers if you have not read book 1.
Evie found out that she is half angel. She also found out that she is a royal. The reason behind her being hunted all her life was her sister Erica who acts sweet but is really evil.
In this book, the guys get more POV time then the last book. We even get a POV of Erica. So far I am in love with Azi. Trex is a normal in denial G. Bailey male. There is always one of these. He likes the girl but in total denial or he doesn’t want to hurt his friends/siblings.
Going into the next one. I think I only have two more books to go.
Well Evie thought she was dead but surprise. With a few twists she is saved after learning some secrets about her past which will change her life as she knew it. Her only goal is to make out her evil sister though so with that in mind she starts making plans. I can’t wait to see how this all plays out as I am hooked now. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
Evie is such a great MC – I like that she admits to her flaws, but is such a protector for those that she cares about. In this story she learns more about herself and her family. She is also out for revenge. This story does end on a cliffhanger, and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
This series is so great so far! And i can only imagine its going to continue to get better. I love this authors storytelling. She makes it so easy to picture what you’re reading.
This book has a few surprises that will lead Evie down a path she wasn’t expecting. But as her relationships with the guys grow, she knows she won’t have to fight alone.
If you haven’t started this series yet, you absoloutly should. Love these books.
I love how evie was so strong and witty. she was always ready to fight for hat she loves and calls her family. cannot wait to see what the battle brings between her and her sister. a lot of questions were answered in this book about relationships and family history. I enjoyed how the guys have allowed evie more into their lifes.
