Fun to read
Typical formula regency romance. In all these novels, I am amazed every man is wonderful eye candy and almost every woman is beautiful. Yawn.
3 stars okay…
It was a fun one to read. I definitely enjoyed it.
This story was more like a fairy tale with unrealistic situations. I was ok but not something I would choose to read again.
Although at first the story line seemed a little far fetched for the times, it turned out to be a great story. Louisa is a woman ahead of her times who invented an underwater breathing helmet so that she could study fish. She disguises herself as a man to get on Captain Rupert’s boat to travel to Caribbean. Needless to say, at some point everything unravels for her. The captain couldn’t understand his wanting to spend to so much time with a man, and that all had a funny way of turning out. The story and writing was romantic and witty with a very satisfying ending.
A new twist to a romantic tale. A modern day ugly duckling story. I loved it.
I love the different personalities of her characters.
