Londyn McCormack didn’t have a typical childhood. She ran away from home at sixteen, escaping parents more interested in drugs than their daughter. She doesn’t have loving siblings or an adorable pet. Her only family is the five other runaway kids who shared her junkyard home.Life pulled them all in separate directions, taking her to Boston. For a short time, she thought she’d found something … something permanent. But after a devastating divorce, she’s running away again, this time to find a lost friend.
She’s driving across the country in her convertible. As a teenager, the rusty car was her shelter. As an adult, it’s her ride to freedom.
Except one flat tire derails her trip. Her life collides with Brooks Cohen. They walked away from the first crash. The second might destroy them both.

6 Londyn with a Y Stars!!!
Runaway Road the first book in a new series by Ms. Perry is stunningly beautiful. It’s a story that takes our heroine Londyn on a journey of self-discovery as she looks for the life she’s always wanted and until recently thought she had.
This young woman is filled with determination and fortitude and a strength that I envy. She left a situation that she once would’ve fought hard to keep because she didn’t know any better. But, she’s determined to take her newly restored 1964 Cadillac DeVille across the country to find the boy she left behind…but fate has a way of stepping in and changing her plans with a simple detour that lands her in Summers, West Virginia. And this town is where her life becomes so much more than she ever thought it could be….
“Freedom.
I was free. I was alone. I was lost.
And it was beautiful.”
I laughed and swooned and every emotion in between with Londyn as she explores an instant attraction to Brooks Cohen the man she wasn’t looking for or prepared for, but knew that he could bring her pleasure and just maybe some happiness….
“Brooks was magnetic in a plain white T-shirt and well worn pair of jeans.”
For his part, Brooks wasn’t sure what to make of this beautiful woman that’s landed in his hometown, but he so wants to explore the chemistry that burns between them and because once again fate steps in, these two are going to discover that love can happen instantly and no matter the differences in where they came from, when something this good and right is there for the taking, it has to be grabbed like the proverbial “brass ring” and run with it because finding the love of your life is worth all the risks!!!
Ms. Perry is an author that rapidly became a go-to author for me and I’ve loved seeing her writing grow over the last couple of years. She has a storytelling ability that is unique and fresh. She brings us characters that we want to know and love, and sometimes slap upside the head! Whatever she writes I’m going to read and immerse myself in the world she’s created. Londyn and Brooks are a perfect example of a story that’s about insta-love, but also about seeing beyond the box that they may feel like they’ve been put in and exploring the world that’s right there for the taking!!! I cannot wait for the next book in this series!!!
Runway Road is the first book in the all new Runaway Series by Devney Perry. Runaway Road follows the story of Londyn & Brooks. Life hasn’t always been kind when it comes to Londyn. Londyn has always wanted a better life than the one she was given. At 16 years old, she ran away from home and her parents were too strung to care. Living on the run was anything but glamorous, but somewhere along the way, she found a new normal. She thought she found some where to lie her head permanently, only to have the carpet ripped out from her. This unexpected twist, left Londyn at a major crossroad. She no longer knows who she is or what she wants to do with her life. So, fresh off of her divorce, Londyn decides to take a road trip and try to find the freedom she desperately needs….
Runway Road is a quick and easy read. But, don’t let the length of this book fool you. It might be shorter than other books by this author, but make no mistake, this book packs a punch. Not only is the plot refreshing and intriguing, but the characters and their charm just make you want to breath in their story. You’ve got Londyn who has always made the most out of the cards life had dealt her. She’s no stranger to making tough choices and is hoping her road trip will provide her with some much needed answers. And then you’ve got Brooks. Brooks is the man! He’s sweet. He’s family oriented. He’s loyal and is looking for happiness just like everyone else. I loved how selfless he was and how he always put others ahead of him. Fate brought Londyn & Brooks together at just the right moment and I loved watching these two fall.
Runway Road is a heartwarming second chance romance. It’s about finding peace in the choices you make. It’s about finding your home and rediscovering the person you were destined to be. It’s a story about taking risks and putting your heart on the line. It is a story that is sure to capture your heart and leave you breathless for more. Runway Road kicks this series off to a terrific start. I’m super excited to see what adventure lies ahead for us next and I can’t wait for the next character’s story to be told.
Runaway Road is such a unique story. I loved it! The characters were enduring and you could feel the instant chemistry between Londyn and Brooks. I love the small town setting. It’s a fast read but I completely devoured it. I can’t wait to read the next book.
This was a beautiful story, in Miss Perry’s fashion this book will give you all the feels! there’s twists and turns you won’t see coming, but boy are they worth it! I can’t wait to see what else comes from this series!
Londyn’s divorce is final and she’s ready to hit the road. She plans to travel across the country to look up and old friend, but ends up in a ditch in West Virginia, waiting for the tow-truck driver.
And what a driver! Brooks Cohen shows up to help Londyn get her classic car in the body shop for repairs and she ends up staying in Summers for longer than she expected. It’s enough time for Brooks and Londyn to really fall for each other.
That’s the charm of this book. What starts off as a friendship turns to something more. There’s a wonderful progression of their relationship and the small town feel just really bathes this story in a sweet, wonderful light. The conflict is relatively low, and the love story between Brooks and Londyn is both steamy and adorable. I also loved that the story kept moving and kept me interested until the final pages.
If you’re looking for something easy, sweet and a a nice level of steamy, you just might like Runaway Road.
Another phenomenal read by the incredible Devney Perry! Her writing style is enticing and addicting. Her character development and descriptive writing I love most. Her ability to create such a realistic town and setting it makes you want to live inside the book with these characters! Londyn finds herself on the road again as she often has in her 29 years due to her ex husband and his cheating ways. She is a force and not someone to mess with. When she embarks on her road trip the last thing she ever expected was to fall in love with the small town of Summers, West Virginia as well as the garage owner, Brooks Cohen but fate had other plans in store. The connection, the sparks and explosive chemistry between these two I couldn’t get enough of. Devney Perry has created a passionate story of a women finding herself at an unexpected time. She also has set up secondary characters so well that I see this being a wonderful new series. Londyn’s best friend Gemma is up next in Wild Highway releasing in July, and I cannot wait.
5 STARS
Note: I was gifted an advanced reader copy in exchange of an honest review.
Once again, I am blown away by the amazing story that Devney Perry delivers with Runaway Road. What started out as a cross country journey, turned into more of a journey of self discovery at the most unexpected time. Londyn ends up having to stop her trip in a quaint town and runs into Brooks. What was amazing is how things developed with these two. How their characters both developed during their time together. The added aspect of a slight mystery was fun and quirky and soooo not expected.
I have to say that I adored this story. I loved the little twists. I loved the buildup between these two. But I absolutely adored the concept. It was stunning and felt so real. I giggled and I swooned with these two. In all honesty, it was a beautiful read that I could not put down. If you are a Devney Perry fan, you will adore this one just as much as I did!
This book is a thing of beauty. Devney Perry gives us a story full of heart and breathtaking romance in Runaway Road! While Londyn and Brooks’ story is packed with emotion that will occasionally have you reaching for the tissues their story is also one of the sweetest I’ve ever read from Devney. Runaway Road is romance in its truest form. Even when things look rough the beauty of the love growing between these two continues to shine brighter than anything else.
Londyn and Brooks have a story that sticks with you long after you’ve reached the final page leaving your heart feeling full. I cannot wait for more in the Runaway Series!
She’s never felt more FREEE! Done with a marriage that was more like a cage, she’s headed to California. A road trip with an unplanned pit stop just may turn into her final destination…a place that felt like home.
Londyn may look like a well-to-do socialite, but she comes from humble beginnings. Her early life made her a survivor. She made her own family when hers failed her. She managed to find her own success, a marriage with a husband who helped her educate herself and learn how to conduct business. It seemed perfect. Then her life imploded.
Newly divorced, she’s leaving her old life behind to find her happiness. Her final destination is derailed thanks to a fender bender. Now she finds herself in a small town in West Virginia with the tow man who’s going to fix more than her car.
Brooks is one of the good ones. Sexy as hell, good with his hands and a great friend. A hot mechanic…YES PLEASE! His attraction to Londyn is immediate. She’s only passing through his town, but he’s not willing to just her go.
A story of self-discovery and finding where you belong. Londyn had been searching her whole life. Some things just happen in their own time, when you least expect it. This story gave us great characters and second chances. The chemistry was steamy and their fall was sweet. This was a wonderful start to this new series and I am looking forward to book two.
This wasn’t at all what I was expecting but I seriously loved the care free attitude Londyn had after deciding she wasn’t stopping with her douche bag husband!
This is an absolutely gooey, butterflies in stomach romance that will leave you feeling all dreamy. Brooks Cohen is every girls wet dream and Londyn is the girl we wish we could be. This romance has a side helping of suspense that keeps the pages turning.
Can’t wait for book 2…
It’s no secret that I love me some Devney Perry. While Runaway Road is a little different than her other titles, as in it isn’t really a romantic suspense novel, there was still that little hint of mystery interlaced with the romance.
I absolutely adored Londyn. Her bravery and boldness. Her spirit that longed to be free. Her heart that longed for love, even if she didn’t know how to accept it. How she faced her future head on. She was ready to live life on her terms. She had a plan but nowhere in that construct was Brooks Cohen.
Holy heart of gold, Brooks! He is book boyfriend perfection. I loved his patience and work ethic. His laid back, it will get done attitude. How he cared for his community. How enamored he was with Londyn. How he showed her what home felt like for the first time in her life.
I loved the ease between Londyn and Brooks. How they didn’t force anything just took the days and blows as they came. They were open and honest with one another. Shared their lives and hopes and fears.
Runaway Road is small-town romance at its finest. Full of big time feels and dripping in possibility, Brooks and Londyn’s love story proved that sometimes you have to be lost to find your way home.
Londyn is running away for the second time in her life. The first time, she was 16 and leaving her drug addict parents for a more secure environment living in a scrapyard with a group of other runaways. This time, she is leaving a divorce and a life where she no longer recognizes herself in the rearview as she starts a cross country journey to reconnect with herself and find a long lost friend. A detour and unexpected car trouble has her stuck in Summers, West Virginia, where she meets the local mechanic, Brooks Cohen.
Brooks has spent his whole life in Summers, and has a quiet routine at home and in his garage. But as he is finishing up repairs on Londyn’s car, additional delays keep her grounded to Summers longer than either expected and with the extended time frame, they have time to get to know one another. Will Londyn find herself before she loses herself in another relationship, or is this detour the one that will lead her to what she was looking for all along?
I loved the buildup of their relationship. Brooks is a steady presence, and though he knows Londyn isn’t here for the long term, he can’t help but find his walls cracking as they get to know each other over dinner in the backyard. Londyn isn’t used to the pace of small town life, nor does she quite know how to handle it the first time she realizes just how connected (and nosy) small towns can be.
I fell into this book quickly and wished it could continue even when I was finished. The small town feel, the family vibes, the easy friendship between Brooks and Londyn. This book had so much going for it from the very start. It also ramped up my curiosity about the other kids Londyn grew up with in the junkyard, and I can’t wait to read their stories.
Runaway Road is a heartfelt and emotional romance of self discovery and finding your place in the world. This small town romance has the perfect amount of angst, with a touch of suspense.
Londyn has overcome so much in her life, and is incredibly strong, resilient, and persistent. An unexpected detour lands her in Summers, West Virginia an on Brooks’ doorstep. Brooks is a sexy, sweet, loyal and trustworthy gentleman.
The characters are well developed and well written, and their banter is playful, fun and flirty.
Runaway Road has whet my appetite for the Runaway Series, and I cannot wait for the next addition to this series.
Runaway Road is one of those books that make you feel contentment in your life or reach out for what you want! I love a story that gets me reflecting upon myself and that is just what Runaway Road did, it made me reflect on my life and how I’ve lived it. The people I’ve touched and who’s touched my life. I strongly believe that family doesn’t have to be blood. Family is the people who are there for you time and time again. They are the ones that stand behind you and beside you whenever you need them. They’re the people of your heart and I couldn’t have loved that aspect anymore than I already did!
The sweetness of this story is everything! Londyn is a truly captivating character and I was rooting for her every turn of the road. I love that one flat tire landed her in West Virginia, where I am from, and right into Brooks’ and needing the help of a mechanic. These two together, gahhhh…. They made my heart dance! Does that make sense? What I mean is they brought life to the story. They gave it air and their sweet personalities full of energy and this carefree vibe gave me wings! I felt it, right in my heart! I was nearly shocked with the feelings Devney Perry pulled from me. These characters had me smiling goofily one moment to crying these sad and/or happy tears the next. My heart was in the story and I can’t wait for the next installment. I can’t wait to revisit this group that quickly embedded into my heart!
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.
I loved the adventure that Londyn was on and how she found love when she was least expecting it. This was such a beautiful story of self-discovery. It was a wonderful world to get lost in. And oh my! How I adored Brooks, he was the sweetest! There was such a great build to them coming together, it was fantastic!
If you’re looking for a short, sweet, sexy read pick up Runaway Road today!
A terrific start to this new Runaway series, I loved meeting Londyn and Brooks and the rest of the crazy cast of small-town characters—the scene stealers and schemers!
Londyn and Brooks’ romance was fun, flirty and satisfying. And even though it was quick, it had depth and I could “feel” the realness of it. Feel their fear, their hope, their early beginnings of love. Their future.
And this series is just getting started! There are so many stories still left to tell—five more runaways to account for! And up next is Gemma. And I cannot wait to read what happens!

Devney introduces us to a promissing new series with Runaway Road. Londyn and Brooks story is a one about finding yourself and a home you feel happy and safe in.
Their story is very sweet and although there is a tiny bit of angst, this is a story that is a breeze and a delight to read. I loved getting to know this new world Devyn created and spending time with these characters. I cannot wait for the next book.

Runaway Road was a great start to the Runaway series which already has me obsessed.
Londyn has been running most of her life. And after just going through a divorce, she decides to leave Boston and that life behind her. She hops into her car and hits the road. Hoping to find herself as she makes her way California to find an old friend. Along the way though she ends up stranded in Summers, West Virginia and destiny has other plans. Londyn falls for the small town and its people, and also the mechanic who towed her car after an unexpected accident.
Brooks gave me all the feels. He was such a considerate and loving man. He’s polite, funny, caring, and loyal. He wants someone by his side that values the things that are most important and share his love of small-town life. This sexy mechanic stole my heart—I love him so much.
Londyn and Brooks’ romance was a delicious slow-burn. I was on the edge of my seat waiting for the development of their relationship. And when they opened up to each other, it had me smiling so big. Their sparks flew and when those sparks were ignited they burned like crazy. They were exactly what the other needed—I couldn’t get enough of them.
Runaway Road was heartfelt, tender and beautiful. It’s a story about finding yourself again and filled with hope and love. I adore novels with road trip vibes. I love the sense of freedom that flows across the pages. It reminds me of those days with my hand out the window as I surf the breeze with the radio cranked up and singing along to the radio—bliss. Devney had me falling hard for this soul-warming new series. I can’t wait for more.
Runaway Road by Devney Perry is the first book in her brand new series, Runaway . Emotional and gripping, focusing on the powerful journey of a woman, recently divorced, leaving her life to find herself and reconnect with her past and the speed-bump in her journey that changes everything. Told in dual POV between Londyn McCormack & Brooks Cohen and the small town of Summers, West Virginia where she finds herself waiting for car repairs.
Londyn has endured much in her life but her outlook is refreshing and her personality is kind and endearing. Brooks has also had an interesting run in his life, all of which took place in his hometown. When these two meet it is instant attraction but a slow build to get the romance started. Both Londyn and Brooks are cautious based on their past experiences but the getting there is the best part. This made me a little jealous of the small-town life that Londyn experiences in Summer. Loved it! Enjoy!
