Londyn McCormack didn’t have a typical childhood. She ran away from home at sixteen, escaping parents more interested in drugs than their daughter. She doesn’t have loving siblings or an adorable pet. Her only family is the five other runaway kids who shared her junkyard home.Life pulled them all in separate directions, taking her to Boston. For a short time, she thought she’d found something … something permanent. But after a devastating divorce, she’s running away again, this time to find a lost friend.
She’s driving across the country in her convertible. As a teenager, the rusty car was her shelter. As an adult, it’s her ride to freedom.
Except one flat tire derails her trip. Her life collides with Brooks Cohen. They walked away from the first crash. The second might destroy them both.

If you’re looking for a sexy, small-town romance, this new release by Devney Perry is the one for you!!
Runaway Road had me hooked from the very start. It was wonderful being back with Devney Perry’s words, and in the new ‘world’ of characters and storylines she has created. Although this story is definitely on the lighter side of Devney’s usual writing style.
From the very start when Londyn is preparing to ‘run away’ I wanted to see what would happen on her adventure. She’s leaving her ex husband behind and moving on with her life. When she meets Brooks I just knew we were in for a treat. Brooks is a wonderful character. The small-town hero, loved by all. Together these two were perfect for one another.
The other secondary characters in this story were also brilliant, bringing some added humour and dynamic to the storyline.
This is a lovely, romantic story with light-hearted twists, emotional and funny moments which left me wanting more. It’s fast paced, and you can quite easily sit and devour it in a short pace of time. A brilliant story which still delivers all the feels and left me with a big smile on my face at the end.
It’s been perfectly set up for the next book in the series, and I cannot wait for Londyn’s best friend, Gemma’s story.
Runaway Road is everything beautiful about small towns, road trips, and finding where you belong. What a fabulous book! Londyn has lived quite the life and only when she lands in Summers does it truly begin. Her story with Brooks is one you won’t want to miss. I couldn’t put it down!
This is such a unique premise and it’s absolutely heartwarming in the way it all unfolds. I freaking LOVE Devney and this book — you’ve got to read it!
Runaway Road is the perfect mix of a sweet, small town romance combined with the need to move on, to rediscover oneself and remember who they really are.
Londyn has run away her whole life, seeking the feeling of home that she never had. Even when she finally thought she’d found it, it wasn’t all it was cracked up to be. So she hit the road again, this time hoping to reunite with old friends.
Brooks loves his small town life, he has a great family and a successful business but there’s something missing, something he didn’t know he wanted until he met Londyn.
When they cross paths, Londyn is only passing through town. neither of them want their feelings to complicate things, so they tread a very thin line, until circumstances have her sticking around a bit longer and the chemistry between them becomes too intense to ignore.
But when the time comes, will Londyn runaway again, ignoring her true feelings? Or will she realise that she’s finally found home?
This book was addictive from the very beginning. Londyn’s tragic, heartbreaking history is a stark contrast to Brooks’ happy, family upbringing. These two characters are polar opposites, yet share so many unknown similarities that you feel the connection, deep down in your heart. It’s emotional, sweet, romantic, funny and will have you laughing, crying and grinning from ear to ear all within a few pages. The ending was a funny twist I never saw coming which I loved.
Another fantastic read from the amazing author, I highly recommend it!
5 stars
A heartwarminag, unique small town romance only Devney Perry can deliver!
This may sound corny, but I always think of every new book I read as a new adventure I get to go on, something that I told my young students when I used to teach. Devney Perry’s latest novel felt just like that–an adventure that I got to go on alongside Londyn, Brooks, and the supporting cast of characters. The destination is known even before I start reading–a happily-ever-after–but that’s all that’s guaranteed, other than Perry’s always impeccable storytelling. So I went along for the ride, and I loved every second of it! This was a lighter read compared to my previous reads from the author, but it still has that pinch of angst that more than satisfied my angst addiction. Londyn and Brooks were a twosome that seemed destined for heartache, what with her being more free-spirited and ready to hop in her car and head to parts unknown and him being far more settled, with roots in his hometown and a son to take care of. Yet love always finds a way, and well, it found its way to Summers. Aside from the happy ending for Londyn and Brooks, it also sets up the next book in the Runaway series rather nicely. I can’t wait to find out what happens to Londyn’s best friend, Gemma Lane, in Wild Highway. Five stars for Runaway Road.
Londyn and Brooks are quite the story! A simple small town romance. I loved it!
Londyn has had enough of her life in Boston and is headed to California in her car. It’s a new start for her. Along the way comes car issues in Summers, West Virginia. And a new adventure starts. Brooks is amazing. I love how Londyn and him open up to each other.
I love how simple and sweet this book is. Devney Perry makes us fall in love with love.
Runaway Road by Devney Perry is book one in her new Runaway Series.
Londyn is a woman who had nothing, then supposedly had everything only to being on the run from her past.
Brooks is a good man and over a flat tire they meet. They’re from different worlds – she the free bird; he with deep roots in the small town.
Runaway Road is a slow burn , low drama story tht had me in suspense from start til the end. Once I started reading it was impossible to put the book down. There’s a storyline that sucked me in just like the characters I fell in love with pretty fast. I loved the pace, the amazing storyline and the excellent writing.
Reading a DP book is always like coming home, heartfelt and warm, giving me all the feels. I recommend Runaway Road and can’t wait for Wild Highway, Gemma’s story.
I devoured this book. It was amazing. Original story line. Wonderful characters. It was a journey of Londyn with a Y finding herself. She finds herself in a small town stranded with car trouble, the mystery of what happening keeps the pages turning. Brooks is amazing. I really enjoyed reading about their HEA
Runaway Road was such a fun read. Another winner for Devney Perry. She knows how to write fun, spicy, laugh out loud romance with a couple twists thrown in.
There is a bit of mystery to Runaway Road and I was literally shocked at the end. The author knows how to throw in a completely unexpected twist you NEVER saw coming. I loved the family aspect to it and how different each of her books are. Some authors get stale and one book blends into another and this is not the case with Runaway Road!
Londyn I just love she has had a rough life and is running away to find freedom. Brooks is not what she expected to find. I love love this new series by Devney and I can not wait for the next one. Please one click and buckle up you won’t be disappointed.
Runaway Road is probably my favorite of Devney Perry’s.
A magnificent, heart-warning small town romance.
The main characters, Brooks and Londyn, were captivating. The secondary characters were so perfect.
The familial bonds and low angst made this a light, feel good read that left me smiling.
My only complaint was that it was short..I craved more. I suppose I’ll get it with Gemma’s book.

This one is finally out!!!!… prepare yourself to fall in love. This author never disappoints me, this one is beautifully written and the characters are perfect together as the story evolves you get to know each one, and you are going to give a piece of your heart, also how us as a person can grow no matter the cards that the life give us. Please go grab a copy of this one.
Leave it to Devney Perry to create a beautiful road trip romance! Runaway Road, book one in the Runaway series is the perfect standalone. It’s not connected to any of her previous stories and set in a brand new destination…Summers, West Virginia!
After the demise of her marriage, Londyn finds herself leaving behind her life in Boston to set out for California. She’s got one thing on her mind, getting her car to its rightful owner. Only car trouble leads her to an extended stay in small town West Virginia. She meets Brooks, the local garage/towing company owner and everything falls into place.
“Two weeks with another person had never felt so important as the sixteen days I’d been in Summers with Brooks.”
Issues keep happening to Londyn’s car to keep her stay extended in Summers and she realizes that California can wait, Brooks cannot. I really adored this story! Londyn’s development to finding herself and real, true love was such a joy to read! She and Brooks had excellent banter, and such a wonderful relationship. The side characters in this one were excellent as well. I’m really looking forward to more in this series!
Runaway Road was like a deliciously decadent romance bite. It’s short and sweet and satisfying, even as it leaves you hungry for more of the series.
This is a lighter side of Devney Perry. That is, there is still plenty of emotion, and even a little suspense, but the pace is quick and the angst level is relatively low and that left all the room in the world for me to fall head over heels for Brooks and Londyn.
And so, head-over-heels I went. For a short book, there’s a surprising amount of depth and I never felt like anything was too rushed or too “insta”. Things move very quickly, but enough care is given to the storytelling that there’s a proper build-up where I felt like I got to know Brooks and Londyn and invest in their growing feelings for each other. It was heartfelt and sexy and a complete delight to read!
In all? This was a bit of lighter fare from Devney Perry, but the romance was on point and the story itself was so much fun. I cannot wait for more from this new series!
All. The. Stars.
Title: Runaway Road
Author: Devney Perry
Series: Runaway #1
Runaway Road is the first book in a brand new series by Devney Perry. Holy mother of WOW-I was not expecting this book at all. Full of emotions, a unique storyline, and a love that was so beautiful, Runaway Road is one book you do not want to miss!
Londyn and Brooks were EVERYTHING! I swear, these two characters captured my heart and wouldn’t let go. Londyn did not have it easy growing up. She is used to depending on herself so when her marriage ends, she decides to drive across the country to California. A detour was never in the plans. But sometimes life throws you for a loop and gives you exactly what you need. Brooks was the PERFECT hero. Living in a small town, he’s had a pretty nice life owning a mechanic shop. So when he meets Londyn, sparks fly. Trouble is, she’s only passing through. What happens though, when hearts get involved? You’ll just have to read it to find out!
I seriously loved this book so much! It was everything I’d come to expect from a Devney Perry novel. I am so excited to see where this series goes!
First in a new series, Ms Perry always grabs my attention on the first page, and holds it till the last page.
Londyn McCormick is divorced and hitting the road. Having been her husband’s trophy wife, it still broke her when she found out he was cheating. Leaving Boston in her restored Cadillac De Ville convertible, and heading west, no time table, no map, just the road ahead. She leaves behind her society world, her best friend Gemma and her phone. Her trip is pretty uneventful, till she gets off the highway for the scenic route. She has a flat tire, and ends up in a guard rail. She’s near Summers, West Virginia which will turn out to be a little bit of heaven.
Brooks Cohen is the local garage owner, he picks up Londyn’s car, and assures her it can be fixed. She settles down in the local hotel and explores. Within 3-4 days her car is as good as new, but she and Brooks have started to enjoy the spark they have started feeling. Brooks is divorced, has a teenage son and is respected and liked by the whole town. As reluctant as she is to leave their new feelings, she needs to get on the road. But, heading to the garage to pick up her car, the garage had been vandalized including her car. Back to square one, but with the anticipation of a few more days with Brooks, she doesn’t mind.
A mystery, a slow burn love story and the charm of a small town make this a wonderful read. All the characters are unique in their own way, and Brooks is a hero worth a lot of attention. Can’t wait for the next in the series, but will hate to leave Summers, Londyn and Brooks.

Runaway Road kicks off a brand new series from Devney Perry, and if this first book is any indication it’s going to be an amazing ride!
Londyn is looking for a fresh start after her divorce and decides to drive cross country to reunite with an old friend. With dreams of finding herself along the way, she hops in her restored convertible and sets out on a journey towards a new life. What she finds instead is Brooks, a small-town mechanic with secrets of his own, who she can’t seem to stay away from.
I loved these characters, their instant connection, and their entire storyline. This book is a breath of fresh air, high on fun and low on drama. I do wish there had been a little more of one aspect of this story, however this is still a perfectly sweet & easy read and I highly recommend it!
This book was refreshing!! Devney creates worlds that pull you in from the first page, and keeps you hanging on until the very last sentence. Londyn is looking for purpose, meaning, and peace. This one statement explains Londyn completely….”I was free. I was alone. I was lost. And it was beautiful.” Brooks was an awesome hero. He was sweet, gentle, and total swoon worthy. This was not just a book, it was a journey!!!
I enjoyed this journey down Runaway Road, and I cannot wait for the next book.
4.5 ‘I feel it. Deep.’ Stars!

Well, you know you have read a good book when you literally devour it in one afternoon! Devney Perry has been teasing us about this new series and the premise of these books sounded so good. I am happy to say she did not disappoint with the first installment! In Runaway Road we start getting to know six kids (now adults) who run away from home and share a bond after suffering difficult childhoods. This is the first story.
So, Runaway Road is, as I said, Devney’s new release and it’s the first book in her new Runaway series focused on six people searching for freedom and love. This is Londyn McCormack’s story. She is recently divorced and she needs to find herself again after losing who she was after getting married to a wealthy older man. She decides to leave everything behind and road trip to California to find her childhood junkyard friends. But a flat tire will chance her journey forever, especially after she meets Brooks Cohen. Will she run away again?
I was running away to find peace. To find the life I needed deep in my soul. To find myself again.
I am a sucker for Devney Perry’s stories. I fell in love with her writing a while ago and I was so excited for this new series. Of course, Devney did not fail and managed to make me fall in love with these new characters in a heartbeat. Londyn is finding herself again and it was beautiful to read that. She is a strong woman and her experience in this West Virginia small town changes her life forever. That together with meeting swoony, sweet Brooks. Gah! Devney surely knows how to create an outstanding hero!
“Don’t forget me,” I whispered. I’d been forgotten by too many people. I couldn’t bear the idea of Brooks forgetting me too.
“I’ll remember you until the end, Londyn.” Brooks ran his knuckles along my cheek, leaving a trail of sparks on my skin. “Until the end.”
I loved Brooks, how protective and caring he is. The man is just lovable from head to toe! I loved the slow burn chemistry between him and Londyn, the high emotions and all their moments together. The romanticism is high in Runaway Road and I loved it! These characters are so unique and I loved every single one. And this couple, of course! The chemistry between them was to die for and that mixed with the feels, the secondary characters and that bit of drama, made this book a wonderful read for me.
The next time she wanted to leave and find a new adventure, she’d have company.
We’d drive that runaway road together.
Therefore, I am rating Runaway Road with 4.5 STARS because it was the best way to start the Runaway series, perfect to leave you hungry for more of these characters and their journey’s to love and happiness. I loved the slow burn, the sweetness and this amazing couple. Londyn and Brooks are so adorable together and I cannot wait to read the rest of the stories after getting to know the other runaways. Gemma is next and I need her book now!
