Londyn McCormack didn’t have a typical childhood. She ran away from home at sixteen, escaping parents more interested in drugs than their daughter. She doesn’t have loving siblings or an adorable pet. Her only family is the five other runaway kids who shared her junkyard home.Life pulled them all in separate directions, taking her to Boston. For a short time, she thought she’d found something … something permanent. But after a devastating divorce, she’s running away again, this time to find a lost friend.
She’s driving across the country in her convertible. As a teenager, the rusty car was her shelter. As an adult, it’s her ride to freedom.
Except one flat tire derails her trip. Her life collides with Brooks Cohen. They walked away from the first crash. The second might destroy them both.

I loved this book so much! Devney Perry is one of my absolute favorite authors and she didnt let me down at all in this book! I got all the feels while reading it! I read it in one sit as I could not put it down!!! This is a definite must read!
Received an arc for an honest review
Runaway Road calls out to my inner adventurist.
Londyn is a sweet and strong woman with a jagged past. After a major life shift, she decides she needs adventure and the open road.
Until she meets Brooks. I thoroughly enjoyed how Londyn and Brooks slowly melded together. It was a pleasure to read their story and fall in love with them. And I cannot wait to read Wild Highway!
Londyn McCormack is ready to take her life back. She is divorced from her cheating husband and nothing is keeping her in Boston she is ready to set out on the open road. A flat tire lands her in a small town West Virginia where she meets Brooks Cohen, small town mechanic.
I love how Londyn is a strong, confident and determined woman and Brooks is the perfect match.
Great start to a new series I cannot wait for books 2 Wild Highway. Bring it on!!
Runaway Road was a nice read. It was a unique premise and I couldn’t wait to see how it would progress. I liked the idea of Londyn’s journey to finding herself. And that lead her right to Brooks. Brooks was so swoonworthy. He was a great guy. I enjoyed their romance. It was sweet and romantic. Overall this was a sweet read. I am excited for the rest of the series.
Gah! Devney did it again! I swear that I get so excited each time she releases and this time was no different. I obviously binge read this novel, because is there any other way to read a Devney Perry novel?
This is a read with ALL THE FEELINGS GUYS. It is a small town romance that you are in love with as soon as you start. Brooks and Londyn were amazing. I truly loved the both as soon as I met them and I was their biggest fan. Brooks has his own story to tell you in this but as soon as you meet him you can’t help but want to know his story as much as hers.
This is one of those reads that even though you are rooting fro them you aren’t really sure where it is going to go. Everything these two were in the same vicinity of each other I was cheering. By the end of it, I was in my sweet spot and completely in love with these two. I can’t wait for more in this world.
Devney quickly became a fave author of mine to read after I read Letters To Molly and with each book since, has risen herself to go-to list of authors that I will always read.
Runaway Road is just another example of why Devney has become a powerhouse author for me. Londyn’s story is one that I could not put down once I started. It was so well-written and that I was immediately taken with Londyn and read this is one sitting.
Londyn learned to survive on the streets at and early age so when she finds herself in the same predicament after her divorce, she is excited to move on. However, she did not intend on finding herself stranded in smalltown with a flat tire. She also did not anticipate Brooks.
Brooks is WOW. He blew my socks off – I think it was his laidback attitude but had this underlying humor that just really won me over. He is swoon-worthy.
This was slow-burn romance for me. The chemistry between Brooks and Londyn was HAWT but it was there banter that just made it all the more loveable. While it is shorter than her other books, this story was just as well developed and the characters just as deep. You are definitely not short-changed in any manner.
Runaway Road is the perfect start to this series and one I cannot recommend enough!!
“I didn’t let myself indulge in fantasies often. Hope was something I kept at a firm distance. Disappointment, on the other hand, was a close companion.”
Runaway Road is the first book in this brand new, interconnected stories of runaway friends. The story starts with Londyn, who left her life in Boston after a nasty divorce. In a search to find herself again, she went on road trip to end up stranded in the small town of Summers. There she met the sexy, single dad garage owner, Brooks.
This was a pretty sweet read with just enough drama and suspense. Small town romances are not my usual go-to, but it’s such a great way to cleanse off my palette from my regular readings. Runaway Road surely fixed it for me and more. This is the kind of small town romance that never fails to make me fall- the close knit family ties, mutual love and respect, the shenanigans. There is no way you will not wish to be living in this world and I loved how the author made me lived it, if only for awhile. I loved the main and even the second characters. I wish I’ll be able to see the people of Summers in the next book or other series again. If you’re looking for a quick, sweet, small town, single dad romance, Runaway Road will be right up your alley. Highly recommend!!
Such a wonderful story about making a wonderful life for yourself from a bad beginning. Loved this and looking forward to the 2nd book of this series!
5 stars!
Runaway Road is:
Sexy
Romantic
Small-town
Heartwarming
Unique premise
Totally refreshing
Another outstanding work of art from the fab Devney Perry! I love that this authors books aren’t only outstanding to read but make me feel like I’m part of the story.
Londyn McCormack has not had an easy road, plain and simple. As a teen she struggles, then later has a whole new set of struggles following a failed marriage. Road trips can be fun but sometimes, they can be a little more complex. Road tripping in the same car you had to live in as a teen, adds even more meaning to the trip.
Londyn’s trip gets paused after an accident that leads her to the super hot Brooks Cohen. Sparks fly, banters exchanged and boy do I love these two! Loving the small town was never part of the plan, notrcaring for her sexy mechanic!
I highly recommend this read! I loved it!
This book (and hopefully series) will literally take you for an unexpected ride. So fresh and inventive, Runaway Road is wildly entertaining and captivating. Be prepared to cheer so hard for this couple.
So I want to be honest, I wasn’t all that intrigued with this book when it was first announced and I read the blurb….but let me tell you how wrong I was!! THIS BOOK WAS ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!
It drew me in from the second chapter (still slightly unconvinced during the first), and I was so annoyed when real life came in and made me put the book down.
I loved the history that Devney created for Londyn. Seeing her rediscover herself was so great. And honestly I loved how there was such a solid storyline that the “drama” was very small.
It’s rare that a book can just be the love story and not get too smutty, but Runaway Road did it.
Runaway Road had everything I love in romances: a small town, great characters, humor, steamy moments and a story that’s pretty lighthearted. There wasn’t a lot of angst and I read through this book in no time. Devney Perry made me invested in these characters and story and I was sad when it was over.
Londyn leaves Boston, because she doesn’t feel like it’s home and needs something new. She hasn’t had an easy childhood and running seems like something that works for her. Londyn’s story was a heartbreaking one and really makes her easy to understand. When she ends up in a small town, she never thought she’d end up finding home. I loved seeing her slowly open herself up to Brooks and the town. Londyn just needed the right person and place.
Brooks definitely deserves a spot on the book boyfriend list. He’s a hardworker, caring, protective and a true gentleman. Brooks isn’t really looking for love and is happy. I love how genuine he seemed. He’s a family man and so polite. Not many people would buy a cellphone for a stranger, because he was worried what would happen. I loved that he opened up his heart even though he knew it was going to be broken when Londyn took off.
Londyn and Brooks had an instant connection, but I loved that they didn’t just jump into everything. Even if they kind of did, because the book only covers a few weeks, but it doesn’t feel this way. They slowly get to know each other and their connection jumps right off the page. It really seems like they were just waiting for the other one. Both characters are independent, but makes the other just a little bit better. Their romance left a smile on my face.
I definitely see myself rereading this one in the future! I love when a book just hits you in the right way. Devney Perry definitely gives us characters I won’t easily forget.
New from Devney Perry!
Refreshing
Sexy
Romantic
Small-town
Heartwarming
Devney Perry does it again with another amazing book! Runaway Road took me by surprise. Our main protagonist is Londyn, a girl who’s had a pretty rough childhood, and Brooks, a car mechanic who’s also her love interest. The plot was really interesting and unique to most stories I’ve read this year. I thought it was very sweet and amazing romance, most of the characters were likable and I found myself relating to them in their time of need. Overall the story was enticing. Devney Perry is one of my favorite authors. I cannot wait for more.
Runaway Road is the first book in a new series by Devney Perry and I am already captivated. But then, of course, it is Devney Perry.
Do you know the smell of fresh laundry? Out of the oven freshly baked cookies? A rainy spring day? A pot of chicken soup? All those things bring comfort. Well, so does a Devney Perry book.
Once again Devney falls into the recesses of her mind and gave us a story that is so real. Characters that are unforgettable and love that is magical. She takes tragedy and finds the beauty in it. She takes heartbreak and repairs it. She takes drama and makes you laugh.
Londyn and Brooks are each dealing with pain. Londyn because her childhood was harsh, Brooks because his teenage years were hard. But each “solved” their issue in the best way they saw fit. Not always easy, not always pretty, but it was the right thing for them. Watching them grow and discover each other with a bit of unorthodox interference is just touching and sweet.
So we’ve got a hot dude, a sassy female, a wild supporting cast and a red Cadillac. Yea, I think I’m comfortable.
I loved this book! I wanted to spend way more time with these characters. I have read everything Ms. Perry has written and look forward to reading the next book when it comes out!. Buy this book you will not be disappointed.
Another hit out of the park for Devney with this one.
Londyn and Brooks were intriguing and I loved their love story.
Londyn is used to running away her whole life- and especially after her crappy divorce. This time when she runs away, in an awesome car, she is trying to find a long lost friend. Although she is not sure what she will find when she gets there she is excited to start the search.
In exceptional form, on the beginnings of just starting her trip- she quite literally collide with a local, Brooks Cohen. And at first stop, they don’t pay each other any interest, but over time the love for one another grows, into a classic Devney Perry novel.
This is one of a new series, I would rate this at a 4.5 star rating- it is very well written and follows a great theme- redemption, by any means necessary. And the characters are well developed. The story flies by at lightening speed, so I would liken this to a good beach read or a fun weekend full of reading 🙂
Does Devney Perry write bad stories? Apparently not because so far I haven’t read a book of her’s that I didn’t love. Runaway Road breaks through to land in my top 2 all-time from Devney.
I loved the concept of the story and where she took it. I adored the characters, and they were relatable and funny and everything I want in an h/H. I also listened to this book on Audible and man if you can, do it. Get on audible and listen to the book right now. Jason Clarke’s gravelly voice as Brooks Cohen. WOW!
This series is going to be another great one from Devney!
This was a fun, adorable romance.
Londyn leaves her home and decides to drive across the country to where she came from.
After getting off the interstate, she has some car troubles and winds up in a small town with big hospitality. She meets Brooks, who owns a garage and they spend some time together until she can get her car back on the road. And there is some drama, but for the most part, the story really centers on the two characters and getting to know them and I just really enjoyed reading it. Romantic and fun!
