The storyline was wonderfully written and the characters were so well created that Hector and Josie kept me totally engaged throughout the entire book!
This is the first book by this Author that I have read I found it to be well written and had a great storyline. City planner Hector Ruiz-Collier and Josie Brown, a veterans’ counselor’s story. I will be looking for more by this Author. I received an Arc through Hidden Gems and I am voluntarily reviewing.
This is the first book I have read from this series and I cannot wait to read the rest. My heart just broke for Josie and Hector was just whom she needed I just loved that he instinctively knows that he has to be gentle around her and proved that you can still be a protector without having to be dominant. This was a good well-written book and i really enjoyed it.
This is a well written book with strong characters in Josie and Hector. The author does a great job developing their relationship and pulls you in with all the emotions flowing through the pages. She deals with the all to real and painful issues with PTSD and the effects on all involved. You can feel the love and support with the descriptive and detailed scenes. It’s an emotional story with a HEA. Well done.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
Together they may find happiness.
This was not an easy book to read there are some serious issues that the author has address. That being said this was a very good book the characters were interesting and it was easy to become involved with them in the story. Abuse in any form is difficult to deal with and how Josie dealt with it was so well-written. Now Hector comes on strong in the story, but his heart is pure gold and he and Josie are awesome together. I highly recommend this 5+ stars read. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
This book can be read as a separate part in the series The Selkirk Family Ranch.
This story is about Josie and she had traumatic experiences in the army in Iraq. She is still struggling with PTSD and despite that she can open her heart to Hector. A calm, confident macho man with a heart of gold that makes Josie trust him. The way in which the author describes the problem of the many traumatic soldiers is done with respect and shows an insight into the problems that many of the verterans have when they return and are part of society.
The romance that blossoms between Hector and Josie is based on respect and a lot of communication that shows their emotional world.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
It Grabbed My attention and focus so strong I could not put it down. A word of advice when you get your copy. Grab a snack, a comfy seat, kick back and relax. You will not be moving until you finish this bad boy here. Remarkable job. Thanks for sharing.
Hector takes a job with the Selkirk Family to escape his attraction to his sister-in-law, he was not expecting to meet a woman who would capture his heart. Josie is a veteran who lives and works at the veterans rehab centre, who is battling her own demons. These two unlikely characters can’t fight the attraction and the story of how they come together is sweet and confronting. The issue of PTSD is handled well in this story.
This is a painful story, one filled with agony at the remembrance of the atrocities committed against her, and yet when Josie meets Hector, her world is tilted back on its axis, giving her stability and the reassurance that she is not alone. Hector has enough on his plate to deal with, especially when his older brother seems to be set on destroying the one good thing in his life. Banished from his home because he cared too much, Hector has been employed by the Selkirk family in their latest project. Taking time out, he certainly never thought he would come across a fae-like woman, one that touches him at the deepest level. However, even though he doesn’t know her story, Hector is cautious in his approach and shows Josie that there are some men who are confident enough in their own masculinity not to need to demonstrate their physical strength. It is just what Josie needs. The story tore my heart to pieces as I felt the pain of the veterans in the Selkirk fold. The book is well written, focussing on the effects of PTSD and the very real need for therapy. This novel is well written with wonderful characters and comes to a happy conclusion. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
