When the Dragon King demands that Princess Verity choose a romantic partner from 26 dragon shapeshifters, she’s not allowed to say, “No.” But she has to. Verity must escape her father’s romance plans for her, but it won’t be easy with cameras broadcasting her every move and the whole Dragon Planet watching. Meanwhile on Earth, Ryan, a tech industry millionaire, loves dragons more than anything in … more than anything in the real world. He has moved back to his home town to run a dragon-centered bookstore. When a portal misfire lands Verity in Ryan’s store, the attraction is instant and irresistible.
Ryan jumps at the chance to compete to win Verity’s hand. The Dragon King allows it. He doesn’t expect a computer nerd human to survive a competition with fire-breathing dragonshifters.
Can Ryan win the dragon princess’s hand by defeating a pack of hulking, jealous, firebreathing dragon men who don’t play fair? Will Verity be able to save her true mate from death by dragon fire?

Lynne Murray Runaway Dragonette is a takeoff of the Bachelorette hit TV show on Earth but this is on a different planet. Ryan has always loved dragons and everything about them and he sees a tape of the reality show and wants to meet Verity. Loved the book.

Her father wants her to marry one of the dragons but she does not want to. He loves dragons more than anything and he is shocked when he can take his place to win her heart. He is human. Can he do it? Will he win her heart? See what will happen

Dragon Reality TV???? Yep, that is what this series is about. On Dragon Planet the King loves reality tv. King Harrenholz decides to make his daughter Verify be the bachelorette to twenty six Dragon shifter bachelors. She just has to borrow it down to one. Only problem is she doesn’t want to do it. She escapes to Earth and meets Ryan Mason a self made millionaire who loves all things dragon even though he’s a human. They also discover that they are mates. So this is where the fun starts. Because she’s in that tv show she has to douse herself with perfume that neutralizes the mating pheromones she is producing and so does Ryan. This story is both funny, sexy and backstabbing. It does have a happy ending.

Verity is getting ready to be on a reality show for dragons. Twenty-six dragons competing to be with her. Ryan is a millionaire that just so happened to love anything to do with dragons so when a friend showed him a video from the dragon reality show he fell for Verity. However he thought it was all fake and very well done for something like that. When something happens and he meets Verity he knows its fate. He is put on the show an must prove that he has what it takes to be Verity’s mate. Can Ryan win the competition with the odds against him?
This is a great story that will draw you in and have you rooting for the couple to get together. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend it to any book lover.

King Harrenholtz, Verity’s father and the ruler of the Blood Claw Clan that dominated Planet Dragon, was enthralled with reality shows from Earth. Between him and his brother Cobravelos, his closest councilor, they came up with the idea to have a reality show of their own. Making Verity the Dragonette, their version of the Bachelorette, and giving her twenty-six of their finest, fittest, most desirable males to choose from. All so the King could have grandbabies. Sounds like a reasonable plan, right? Until Verity decides she can’t do this and manages to escape winding up on Earth.
Ryan has loved all things Dragon since he was a small child. So much so, he’s quit his job, moved back to his hometown and opened a Dragon based book store. When Verity appears out of the blue there is an instant connection and they soon realize they are fated mates.
This is the first book from Lynne Murray I’ve read and was tickled with it. There’s a sense of humor and sarcasm found along with antics between the side characters that will keep you entertained throughout the entire story. This is one that would help brighten any day.

Like your humor sly and dry? Here ya go!
Runaway Dragonette is the start of a planned series, a cute little dragon-shifter fated-mate romance. Sweet, sometimes sexy, featuring slightly stereotypical romance tropes and the requisite HEA, it’s well-written but badly edited and that’s a 2.5 star pity. But wait, there’s a hidden feature that pushes this book right into 4 + star territory: author Lynne Murray’s WICKEDLY DROLL and POINTEDLY SARCASTIC sense of humor. It manifests throughout the book in her spot-on send-up of bachelor/bachelorette realityTV shows and those who produce them. Murray’s pointed barbs also make frequent cameos in her portrayals of those who are into (in no particular order): male superiority/chauvinism, racial purity and superior genetics, social engineering through strictures on reproduction, various gender-inclusive forms of gold-digging and social climbing, and the inevitable corrosive influence of back-room deals on morality and justice. Even the characters’ names have subtextual meanings to make you grin – like Verity, the female dragon princess who rebels against the whole dating/mating farce, whose name means “:truth.” The whole thing is leavened with a dose of whimsy; e.g., oregano is dragon catnip. Who knew? Flaws and all, I enjoyed the heck out of this book, and Lynne Murray’s series is firmly pinging my “gotta-read-this” radar. I received an ARC copy of this book via Booksprout, and despite my gratitude, this review is voluntary, independent, and uncompensated.
A televised show to find a mate for a princess. Crazy things can and do happen. There is danger, excitement and understanding. I liked the story. I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving a honest review.
