Such a sweet, entertaining and lovely book. This new to me author did not disappoint. I’ll definitely look for more books by this author. With a sweet story concept and clean, wholesome writing I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Tucker Jackson is going through some emotional stuff he can’t seem to get under control and after losing another football game he finds himself in a bit of trouble. That trouble leads to a stint of community service at the local youth center working with local, hometown girl Shelby Doll. His growing attraction for her takes him quite by surprise. But Tucker needs to get his anger under control and find forgiveness in his heart before he can find love.
Shelby loves the community youth center where she works but they are at risk of having to close the doors if something doesn’t change soon. An unexpected blessing shows up in the form of football star Tucker Jackson, but does Shelby have enough faith that together they can save the center?
I RECEIVED AN ARC AND VOLUNTARILY OFFER THIS REVIEW.
A great Christmas story with likable characters and amazing romance. Shelby was a sweetheart and her happy ending with Tucker was well deserved.
I received an ARC copy of this book from the author, all opinions here are my own.
I loved this book!! Tucker was a football player that had anger issues and had to serve his community by helping out at the community center. Shelby was the director who ran the center and needed help to keep the center open. They were able to help each other and find love along the way!
I liked this story very much.Tucker has a lot of baggage that he has to overcome including anger. Shelby is a very likeable woman with a heart of wanting to help poor kids. I like that there is a christian emphasis. I recommend the book to everyone because we can all see personal shortcomings & learn ways to overcome them. I received an ARC. This is my voluntary opinion.
I had an ARC copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. I really enjoyed reading this seasonal book. Lorana did a wonderful job with the story line and the characters. I enjoyed the varied characters and the way they interacted with each other. I would recommend reading this book.
This is the first book I’ve read by Lorana Hoopes, but it definitely won’t be my last. I throughly enjoyed reading Run with My Heart. This book is a clean read that deals with anger issues, forgiveness, love, and most of all believing that God will help you. I loved all of these characters, especially Tucker and Shelby, but you’ll fall in love with some of the kids that go to the community center that Shelby manages. The best thing to happen to Tucker was having to volunteer at the center for his community service. I definitely recommend this book to readers of all ages. Grab your copy and see what kept me flipping the pages. I can’t wait to read more books by this talented author.
This was a very enjoyable story about a football player who finds his way to God and another way to look at life. Shelby, the director of the Community Center where Tucker has to do community service and a little crippled boy at the center teach Tucker some valuable life lessons. There are some great characters to keep the story interesting and entertaining. A few twists, turns and surprises to get Tucker to see the light. Tucker finds love, new friends and a new outlook on life and gets a happy ending.
I absolutely loved this book. Lorana Hoopes is definitely becoming one of my favorite authors. The book was such a sweet read. I enjoyed the way the characters seemed to come alive in the story. You feel what they feel. Tucker & Shelby’s story was a sweet romance and I found myself smiling often while reading
Shelby runs a youth center but because of a new place with trampolines, number of kids are done which means funds are low. She is worry the center will have to be closed. Her assistant Kenzie suggests calling the local football team for a volunteer of one their football players. Thinking they will get a retired or player that does not play much. Instead they get a major player Tucker because of his anger issues and getting put in jail for fighting in a bar even though he did not start it and tried to walk away.
Tucker flirts with Kenzie but becomes intrigue by Shelby because what Kenzie says and how she cares about the kids.
Will they give love a chance?
What a weasel is the guy who normally donates for the Christmas Party?
I hopedon’t in the story it was written that the news found about him not funding the party and he started the fight with Tucker and why.
I received an ARC for my honest review.
A great reminder to always trust in God!
I really enjoyed this story and the characters. Tucker had so much anger in his heart that he was unhappy with most people around him. Shelby was constantly stressed out over the community center she managed closing their doors. When the two meet there is little attraction. The more time they spend together they realize that they are not as they first seem. When Shelby offers to pray for Tucker’s anger he starts thinking about God in his life.
As Tucker continues focusing on having God in his life his anger is replaced with peace. Shelby is seeing the change in his personality and likes the changes. The relationship is very sweet.
Shelby is trying to save the community center that she runs. Tucker is a local football player that has to do community service. Will he able able to help her out?
I loved Shelby’s character, she was so determined to keep the community center going. I loved how her family supported her through prayer.
I also loved Tucker, he found out he relates to the kids at the center. His family background. I kinda felt bad for him at times.
Such a wonderful story. I loved the characters so much I didn’t want the book to end.
I received an advanced copy of the book from the author. This book review is my own opinion.
Oh my goodness . . . .trying to run this community centre with hardly any money is hard. What can we do to fix it? And just what does this football player think he can do volunteering for one week?? SUPERB BOOK – God CAN help!!!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All thoughts and comments are my own.
ONE INSPIRING EXPERIENCE!!!
Heads up! Lorana tackles the drama, runs the gambit, tossing out hope, determination and finally triumph, blowing this incredibly refreshing gem wide open. Heart warming and tender, grounding in it’s strength and awe inspiring in it’s depth. Striving and struggling through the trials and tribulations, baring the burdens, dealing with a multitude of twists and sleek turns, blasting this jewel into a tailspin with surprising results. Ambient feelings, intense chemistry and undeniable attraction, forging an soul deep connection as emotions run rampant, charging ahead full force, melding this gem together flawlessly. The personalities are well matched and balanced with enough flaws for diversity. The characters and scenes are strikingly sharp with such colorful descriptions it gives you a full understanding and realism that flow smoothly. Awesome job Lorana, thanks for sharing this incredible jewel with us.
Sweet, clean story with an athlete for the hero. Lot of emotional drama dealing with loss, anger and romance based around Christmas and the need or desire for a Christmas miracle
I received an ARC of this book from the author, Lorana Hoopes, and this is my voluntary and honest review. I loved this book about the romance between Shelby and Tucker. They met when Tucker was ordered to do community service to avoid suspension from his football team when he got in a fight. Shelby was the Manager of the community center where Tucker had to volunteer. Shelby’s belief in God helped her show Tucker that God could help him control his anger issues. This is not only a love story but a lesson on how to deal with problems and how to give forgiveness. I highly recommend this book.
I’m a sucker for a football heartthrob who falls for the unlikely girl and this book didn’t disappoint.
Tucker is the typical jock on the outside with layers underneath, while Shelby is the girl who quietly sits in the background secretly wishing the right guy would take notice.
In our introduction to Tucker we meet an angry young man with a chip on his shoulder. Through no choice of his own he’s sent to work at the neighborhood community center.
Shelby isn’t impressed with the disgruntled attitude of her new volunteer. She doesn’t have time to babysit him. She’s too busy barely keeping things afloat at the center.
I like how two such disparate personalities connect on a personal level, find out what a little faith can do, and don’t miss the opportunity for love.
Read this book and find out why I recommend it.
I was given an ARC courtesy of the author and this is my honest review.
Lorana Hoopes always writes interesting story lines with well developed characters and this book is no exception. It is a good beginning for a new series. I admit I like series based around sports and players. Tucker has an anger problem and lets it get away from him. What could be better penance than having to work at an underfunded community center. Shelby has a passion for her kids at the community center and the thought of it closing is painful. This book has romance, but more than that it has Tucker dealing with the underlying causes of his anger. I enjoyed this book and look forward to the rest of the Texas Tornados series.
“Run With My Heart” by Lorana Hoopes
I received an ARC of this story from the author via StoryOrigin. What a moving story!!! AND, a clean sweet contemporary faith-filled romance, too. My take-a-way quote form this story is this — “Worrying accomplishes nothing except taking time away from today.” Yes, I read the description and requested this ARC and I am ever so glad for my time with Tucker, Shelby, and the rest of the cast of characters, too. Surely do hope you like this story as much as I do. Happy Reading !!
