This is the 1st novel in a new series and is the eldest of the MacAteer brothers Connor, and single mom Beverly’s story. Beverly is living her life a day at a time between juggling two jobs while making sure her 4 little kids know they come first in her life. Connor is her sexy new neighbour, and he is drawn to this little family and will do what ever he can to help them. This is a beautifully written story which has a tad angst and is a humorous and all-round entertaining read. I loved this!!! I highly recommend for all readers.

OMG! Move over book boyfriends, Connor MacAteer has arrived!
Run with It is the first book in the MacAteer Brothers series written by author ML Nystrom. It tells the story of Beverly Archer, who is a single mother of four, and Connor, the eldest of the MacAteers. We were first introduced to Connor and his siblings in Stud, the second book in the Dragon Runners MC series. And if you’re like me and enjoy knowing the backstories, I recommend reading Stud first. Just know that it’s only a suggestion.
Run with It is an absolutely amazing story, and I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough! The storyline is refreshing, engaging, and beautifully written. In this story, Beverly is such a strong woman who is an amazing advocate for her children. She works very hard to provide for them while her ex-husband is a real douche-canoe. Connor just moved into a duplex in Ashville, the same one that Beverly and her kids share. He’s a real stand-up guy, and he’s not afraid to help Beverly and her kids. Their friendship soon turns into something more, and I can’t express how much I love Connor.
Loved every minute, and I can’t wait for the next book in the series!

Being a divorced struggling mother of four was not how Beverly envisioned her future, but here she is. Her life now chaotic, lonely, hurt, and basically living day to day making sure that her children know they are her first priority. When her bestie decides that it’s time for Bev to start dating again, all Bev can think at first is when would she even have the time, but she does agree, it is time. Add a dash of sexy neighbor and you have the perfect recipe for… more chaos. Something has to give, Bev is at the end of her rope. When she develops a crush on Connor, she just knows she has to prepare herself for it to be one sided, but what if it’s not? What if Connor has the same crush? What if he is opened to having something more with her?
ML Nystrom, pulled out some freaking feels with this story! My heart hurt for Bev, I was angry with her, sad, frustrated, totally had empathy for everything that was going on with the kids. I could not put this story down once I started. I give this 5 stars and can’t wait for more from this series.
This story is about as real as it gets. Divorced mom with responsibilities out the ying yang. Been there, done that. I enjoyed the author’s wording to make humor out of daily life events that really aren’t that funny. Working, children’s school and activities are hard to juggle, but Beverly held it together! The story line was fun and I enjoyed the dual POV from Bev and Connor! I really enjoyed when the sparks begin to fly with Bev and Connor, but I really LOVED the realness between them. No flowers and candy needed! Fun book!
I won this paperback in a raffle at the Committed in Louisville Author event! Had a blast!
Discovering more about the family and following the MacAteer brothers’ journeys to love is the start of something wonderful.
Fantastic! I’ve volunteered to review this book for United Indie Book Blog. I love to read books from ML Nystrom. Run with It is the first book in a new series called MacAteer Brothers. This is Conner and Beverly’s story. This is a spin-off of the Dragon runners, but it’s not necessary to read them. Conner was a sweet, gentle and caring guy, who is a loyal and a family man. Beverly lives next door to Conner. Beverly is also a single mother of four. I couldn’t stop reading until I got to the end. This storyline is refreshing, engaging, and beautifully written. Definitely another home run! Can’t wait to read the next book in this series. Keep up the amazing work!
Such a fantastic book!
We all know a Beverly. A single mom that works too hard for too little, trying to make the best life she can for her kids. This book really touched me -Ms. Nystrom’s storytelling is fantastic and her characters really suck you in. Definitely another home run!
I was intrigued by the MacAteer brothers since they were introduced in Stud and I wasn’t sure what to expect from this book since I am not used to reading anything that isn’t an MC book by M.L. Nystrom. I am happy to say that I fell in love with this book. I loved every part of it. The crazy circus that is Beverly’s life, the steadfast and true character that is Connor and the journey these two take to find happiness in their life.
Beverly was screwed over big time by her ex and she continues to be but she is a top notch mom and isn’t about to let that keep her from being the best mom she can be. Like many others there are times where she feels like a failure and Connor couldn’t come into this family’s life at a better time. He doesn’t necessarily make Beverly better but he helps, he contributes to the family, provides a male role that is needed and there is no strings or expectations involved. In fact the last thing Connor thinks he wants is a relationship and a family but as time goes by and Beverly starts dating maybe that is exactly what he wants.
This story just sucked me in. I wanted to jump in and beat Beverly’s ex’s ass so bad, I wanted to help her, I felt the stress and the feeling of never having enough time in a day. I felt every emotion and I love a story that sucks me in like that.
I can’t wait to see what the other brothers have in store for us. They seem to want to be in a relationship and be tied down even less than Connor did.
Beverly is working two jobs, raising four kids and dealing with her deadbeat ex so she has little time for anything else in her life. Connor move in next door and things for him are looking up since he’s on his own. Bev and Connor were so good together and I loved Connor.
I really enjoyed this book, but I’ve come to expect nothing less of this author as she put out thoroughly enjoyable stories. Beverly fat she had the perfect life but her Dbag of a husband divorced her when he came into some money and traded her in for a newer and younger model. And to top it off he stuck her with the four kids they made together and she had to downgrade into a three bedroom duplex. Her kids are the light of her life and she wouldn’t trade them for anything even though they can be a handful at times. In moves Connor into the shared duplex as her hot and sexy neighbor. We met Connor in Stud’s book, he is Eve’s brother and an all-around standup guy. He doesn’t want the entanglements of getting into any romantic relationship so he befriends Beverly and her kids. With her interfering best friend Beverly is suckered to going on disastrous dates that her BF set up for her through an online dating app. In the end Conner and Beverly have worked their way under each other skin that goes beyond a mere neighborly friendship. Will it all but up in their face? Will her ex-husband see the error of his ways? Will taking on for kids that aren’t your own be too much for Connor? I can’t wait to see where this series goes!! I am patiently waiting on the next book in the series!
4.5 Stars
I really enjoyed this one. It’s hard for me to pass up on a single parent romance. I’m so glad I read this one. Connor is going on my top book boyfriends list. That man will having you swooning through out this book. Just alone how he treats Bev’s children then through in how he makes Bev feel about herself, yeah hold onto those panties. I could relate to how the kids felt with their dad. I went through that myself, but not as severe as Bev’s children. I would highly recommend this one. You’ll have a hard time putting it down. Connor will hook you, but Bev’s story will hit you in the heart. Life is throwing one curve ball after another, but the day Connor moves in next door her luck is about to change. The chemistry is great between Bev and Connor, though they fit it for all their worth. I’m looking forward to more from this series and I’m going to go back to read Stud.
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.
This NEW series from Nystrom is a spin off from the Dragon Runners series. You don’t need to have read THOSE books for this one to make sense, indeed, I’ve only read book one and half of book 2. I didn’t much care for those books, and I have no idea why.
This one, however, is a whole nother story!
I really REALLY enjoyed this! I was surprised I enjoyed it so much, since I didn’t care for the Dragon Runners, and I cannot tell you why, either!
Bev has her say in the first person, and Connor in the third. Different, but quirky and I liked it! Wasn’t sure Connor would get a voice, but he does.
The chemistry builds for these two, right from the start, but its way WAY late in the book that they finally get any time together, what with Connor’s work, and Bev’s kids and dealing with a shitty ex and his new partner. I liked that it took time for them to come together. They do bandy about the L word early, to themselves at least and I didn’t like that very much but it didn’t spoil my reading.
Connor’s builder family are in one of the Dragon Runners books, as they rebuild the Clubhouse/Bar (I forget which, and I didn’t read Connor’s sister’s book, Stud, book 2) There is quite a lot of hints to the tension between Connor and some of his siblings, but the ones who turn up here are close to Connor. Bev’s family are almost non-existent!
I had to laugh at Bev’s friend, signing her up for a dating app, cos been there, done that and got the bloody t-shirt! I felt for Bev, on those dates, I really did!
I really cannot tell you why the Dragon Runners didn’t work for me, and this one did, but I really don’t care. I hope I can read the future books about these brothers, I have a feeling they will be fun to read about.
4 very VERY good stars

Another new-to-me author in 2020 that has blown it out of the water for me!!
Run With It was an amazing slow-burn story very true to life. I’m not a single mother, but I’m very familiar with the plight and I can tell you with great certainty that this book is relatable and believable with an outstanding H/h combination. Both strong characters in a well-defined story that just blew my heart away. I loved the kids, Connor, Beverly and every single moment of their journey. It made smile and laugh, and it was just full of hope. It is a perfect *happy sigh* romance fiction story! I am super excited to read more from this author!
