This is a sweet and heart tugging small town romance. Old friends who have taken very different routes in life. They reunite over an unexpected situation. Their paths have been so different…are they the same people? Do they have the same dreams? After so many years do they still have the same things in common?
This was my first K.G. Fletcher story and overall it was a good storyline. Thomas and Emeline were childhood best friends who got each other through the difficult aspect of their childhood, especially Emeline. When Thomas ends up back in town after his grandfather’s passing and runs into Emeline, it’s like time never passed for the two best friends, except it turns into something more as their hidden feelings come to the surface. When Thomas finds pictures of the two of them as children and they realize how they felt about each other is the same as present time, they take their relationship to the next level and Thomas decides to change his life and get back to where he was happiest and do what made him happy as well. When things get a little rocky due to an ex-girlfriend who won’t let him go, Thomas and Emeline work through it in addition to the aftermath it causes. Overall it was a great read, but no big catalytic moment, which I enjoy.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I am totally hooked on this new series! I love Thomas, Emeline, this great little beach town and the supporting characters! Can’t wait to read more about them in KG Fletcher’s next book.
I loved this book. It is a second chance romance story that took me on an emotional ride that I didn’t put down until the last page. Thomas and Emeline grew up together and were best friends. Will their relationship grow into something more than friendship? I loved these characters, they are engaging, lovable and made me feel as if I was right there in the story with them. They both need to find something to believe in and fate may just have something in mind. Their story is a must read!
This first book in The Reigning Hearts series is emotional, heartfelt and one of discoveries. Run To The Sea is a feeling we have all had at sometime in our life, this story puts words on the page that give insight and voice to those emotions. Thomas and Emeline are two people who have lost sight of their hopes and dreams, drowning in regrets and guilt. A chance meeting between these childhood friends takes them on a trip down memory lane. A beautiful story that will show you that sometimes we need to listen to our hearts, ignore our pride and embrace life. These characters will captivate you, cause you to shed a tear and fill your heart with love, hope and happiness.
Love this collection!!
They were childhood best friends, he left for college and made a life in the big city. His grandfather a famous photographer passed bringing him back to his home town. After a brief run-in with Em, he knew he had to see her again. While cleaning out a box, Thomas found memories along with stolen captured moments by his grandfather and the heirloom from his grandma he had been asking for, but grandpa didn’t give.
Run to the Sea is my first K.G. Fletcher book, and it tells the heartwarming story of Emeline and Thomas (Emmy and Cappy) and their tale of second chance love that spans their entire lives. They were best friends as children through their teenage years but lost touch when Cappy left to pursue a career in the big city.
When an inheritance from his grandfather brings him back to the small beach town where he spent his childhood summers with Emmy, they instantly begin to rebuild the friendship they thought was lost. This time, though, their relationship develops into much, much more than just friends. Spending so much time reconnecting strengthens the love that neither knew they felt for the other. Will their newfound love survive secrets from both of their pasts?
I tend to enjoy character-driven stories very much, so this one made me very happy. Run to the Sea has just the right amount of sweet and heat to satisfy fans of both types of books. With an emotional love story, well-written supporting characters, and a lovely small-town setting, this book is one of my favorite romances of the year.
