Natalie Winters thought she’d married the man of her dreams…but her marriage ended way too soon in a nightmarish divorce. She even has to share custody of the dog! The stress is killing her, so she decides to take a night off and attend the Breakup Bash–a private party for women celebrating their breakups–with her friends. Former executive security specialist turned bartender Rome Collier is … Collier is drawn to the woman easily trading sexy banter with him. And if she wants the “Do Me” condoms she accidentally throws across the counter at him, she’ll have to claim them…personally. Their flirtation turns into so much more, and every scintillating night they spend together is better than the last.
Strong, protective…and hot, Rome is everything Natalie ever wanted in a man. All she has to do is convince him he’s more than a rebound.

This is the second book in the Breakup Bash series by Nina Crespo. I very much enjoyed it and loved that it was occurring parallel to the story with Alexa and Rafe. I really liked Natalie and Rafe and can’t wait to read Cori’s story…. She has to be book 3 and we get to find out what she hinted at in this book.
An exciting lighter read with just a bit of everything! So there are rules to a rebound–who knew? LoL, love didn’t get that message either.
Loved Rome, he seemed to be the real deal and a hottie to boot, even tho he was dealing with what he thought was his past failure, he was still sweet!
Natalie had a lot of rules, maybe a bit off from reality, but she was trying to stay away from emotions. I wouldn’t be so forgiving if she hadn’t just had a mega ton of crap dealt to her.
Anyway rules are made to be broken and I sighed a very happy sigh at the end when these two figured out what’s really important in the scheme of life! I really enjoyed reading this!
I received an advance reader’s copy thru Netgalley and am leaving my honest thoughts voluntarily.
Looking for a totally new storyline! This one is unique so you cannot predict the action! Enjoyable!
Nadine was just out with her friends to have a good time. After her disaster of a marriage, she is ready to at least to get out and enjoy herself. She did not count on meeting one the hottest men she’s ever seen. But how could you miss him, really?
Rome was deflecting all the advances that he is used to getting while tending bar. He’s not interested in hooking up with anyone, he’s just here to do his job. But then Nadine walks up, and that resolve goes right out the window.
Nadine isn’t looking for anything serious. A little fling will do just fine. She has a demanding job and has all intentions of focusing on that. Rome used to have a job he was all about – but that went south. So, for now, bartending is what it is for him. Though he also wasn’t looking for anything serious, he hadn’t counted on meeting Nadine!
This is a great story. The Break Up Bash series and is fun read!
This is my first book by Nina Crespo and it did not disappoint. Natalie is newly divorced and not interested in men considering how things ended with her ex husband. Out one night with friends, she runs into Rome a hot as sin bartender with an interesting past. Mutual attraction leads to an incredible hookup that is supposed to end after one night. But low and behold, one night leads to two which leads to more. Along the way, things get complicated and their road to happily ever after hits a few speed bumps but no matter what they find there way back to each other. This is a fantastic, sexy read which I highly recommend.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Rules of Rebound is the second book in the Breakup Bash series, but it can be read as a standalone. I didn’t feel like I missed anything by not reading the first book. The book was well written and fast paced. It was one of those books that once you start you can’t lay the book down (or turn off your e-reader). I loved the characters and especially Rome. He was so sweet and caring even though he was scared he was a “rebound” romance for Natalie. Natalie and Rome found their HEA but they had personal issues they had to overcome first. This was a great book if you are looking for a sweet, fast paced romance. I hope there will be another book in the series so Cori can find her HEA. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Rules of Rebound by Nina Crespo a fast paced five-star read. This is number two in the Breakup Bash series, but I didn’t think I missed anything not reading number one first, however I will be going back to pick it up as I adored this one!! Rome Collier is great, he is such a deep man, he has his scars both on the inside and out, but he is still a strong man. Natalie needs the strength of Rome even if she doesn’t want to admit it. This is a great story and Nina Crespo is definitely going to be one of those authors that you need in your life.
Natalie thought that she was marrying the man she would have for the rest of her life. What she got was a nightmare in the form of a cheating ex who took out his misgivings and lack of success on her. She never expected that going to a breakup bash would put her in contact with her future. Rome was working the bar as a bartender providing the naughty drinks to women overcoming heartaches. When he makes contact with Natalie, sparks are flying and he hasn’t spoken to her yet. Is she the woman that will change his life and bring him some comfort for all that he lost? I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review.
My book friends recommended this book for our reading challenge. Unfortunately, this book was not for me. It was too over the top, There were too many rules, all of which kept getting broken. I’m not ruling out trying other books by this author, just not this one.
3.5 Breakup Bash Stars. Rules of a Rebound is the second book in this series but definitely stands on its own. It is fun, engaging, high on romance, and low on drama. The story moves quickly and easily. While the beginning of the book is based on the destruction of the fairy tale for Natalie it ends with an HEA, as you would expect. As usual, communication is key and it takes Rome and Natalie a little time to figure that out. Once they do everything falls into place. You can easily read this one in a long afternoon.
This was just so so for me. At the beginning of the story I honestly couldn’t tell who was supposed to be the MC, and which were the friends. It was like they were all thrown together at once, and you had to figure out which one was which. I had to keep telling myself that Natalie was the MC. I felt like the friendship between the women was just there to add characters for another book. They didn’t really have much to do with each other after the beginning. To be a short book, it took me a lot longer than it should have to get through it. It just didn’t draw me in, or keep my attention. This was a first for me from this author, but I would be willing to give her another read.

Ms. Crespo’s Breakup Bash series focuses on three friends–Natalie, Alexa, and Cori–who have all gone through recent breakups. Even though none of them really feel quite ready to jump into relationships yet, they all agree that a “Breakup Bash” at a local hotspot sounds like a great way to let off some steam and maybe start to get their groove back. This book is Natalie’s story, when a quick hookup with a bartender that night turns into something more…or is he just her rebound relationship?
I really liked Natalie and Rome’s story. Neither one of them was really looking to get involved–they both had some personal hangups that got in their way and kept them from always being the best at honest communication (though this does factor into their relationship, they didn’t truly suffer from the dreaded big misunderstanding here, thank goodness!) They’re grownups, though, and aren’t afraid to take responsibility for their own lives, both inside and outside of their relationship. Their chemistry is fantastic, and the sex scenes are H-O-T. When their black moment does come, they both share responsibility for it and they both work toward making things work once again.
And did I mention the great chemistry and smoking bedroom scenes? (Spoiler: they don’t all take place in the bedroom.)
Rules of a Rebound is the second in Ms. Crespo’s Breakup Bash series, a series in which all three friends’ stories happen concurrently and therefore don’t necessarily have to be read in order. Normally I’d add here that you could read this as a standalone–which you totally could!–but instead I’m going to warn you right now that if you haven’t read book one yet ( The First Rule of Hook-Ups ) you’re going to get enough plot teasers here to want to pick it up ASAP. And you’ll undoubtedly be as bummed as I am that Cori’s story isn’t even out yet…but hey, future goals, amirite? 😉
Rating: 4 stars / A

This is the second book in this series, and I really think you need to read the first one since it coincides with this one. We have hottie Rome who is working as a bartender on the night of break up Bash where he meets Natalie who is celebrating with her besties Alexa (first book) and Cori. Rome and Natalie have a hot night together that turns into more nights together but due to not speaking there minds, Natalie and her fears and insecurities have some misunderstandings and some hurts happen and end up breaking up, which gives Natalie the weak up that she desperately needed. But does she get Rome back? And what is happening to Cori
Rcvd and ARC at no cost to author..(netgalley) Voluntarily reviewed with my own thoughts and opinions
I loved this book! I was lucky enough to receive and ARC and I’m so grateful! It has been a bright spot in a stressful month.
Rome and Natalie took my heart. Not to mention Betsy! But seriously, the sexiest thing is a hot hero who’s sweet to babies human and furry!
Rules of a Rebound (like Rome) knows exactly how to hit all the right spots. It was equal parts hot, sweet, and memorable.
Nina Crespo has a direct button to my smile trigger!
An interesting concept. This book was a super steamy read, with an interesting storyline and well developed characters. My first read by this author, I look forward to checking out more of her books in the future.
Natalie and her friends go the “Break Up Bash” to have fun and celebrate Natalie’s divorce. She celebrates all right. She celebrates with Rome who is the hunky bartender who smiles and charms all the other women but never hits on them. He sees something in Natalie that just does it for him. It was only supposed to be one night, never supposed to be more for Natalie. She’s determined to focus on her career and that’s it.
Rome though starts to consume her thoughts and their one night turns into so much more. Rome also has personal things going on. Will they be able to keep their relationship going while dealing with their personal issues or will it be too much for these two?
This series is funny and steamy, totally can’t wait for the next one!!
Natalie is a strong confident woman looking for ways to get over her divorce. Rome is bar tending while he gives his body and mind time to recover from an accident. When they meet there is immediate heat and plenty of sparks. They are both skittish and go into a fling putting limits on it. There is plenty of action between the sheets and they have to work through their insecurities to decide if their is more for them.
Rules of Rebound is a quick, light-hearted, insta-love romance. After her divorce was finalized, Natalie went to a break-up bash with her girlfriends to celebrate the start of her single life. What she never expected was an insta-attraction to the handsome bartender, Rome. What started as a one-night stand grew into so much more as they spend more time together due to some situations that arise. Their chemistry was intense and their sexy times were explosive. However, I find that the drama/conflict between Natalie and Rome was a bit dull and the plot lacked surprises and originality. Nonetheless, this is still an enjoyable sexy and fun read.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
4.5 Star review of Rules Of A Rebound (Break Up Bash #2) by Nina Crespo
Nina Crespo is a relatively new author to me. Rules Of A Rebound is not a particularly long book but Ms. Crespo certainly kept me entertained. This is Natalie Winters and Rome Collier’s story and what a great story it was.
Natalie is left reeling after a nasty divorce however it hasn’t stopped her from being feisty and determined to move on with her life. Rome is the bartender that lends an ear and a shoulder.
The chemistry between Natalie and Rome off the charts. Rome wants to protect Natalie and he truly is swoon worthy and although it was just supposed to be a hook up the relationship morphs in to so much more for both of them.
I enjoyed the writing which was strong with characters that were easy to relate to and their story was one I quickly became invested in.
I received a copy of this book through the publisher via Netgalley.
Steamy and heartfelt, RULES OF A REBOUND is a fabulous page-turning read. Nina has hit it out of the park with this sexy tale!
