When Maximillian Sanders moved to Greyford, he had three goals: mend the broken relationship with his sister, keep her safe, and get into a division one college, playing hockey. There he meets the girl who breaks his heart and turns his world upside down, and it’s her best friend who helps pick up the pieces.Brook Taylor learned the hard way that in order to survive this ugly world, she needed to … she needed to live by her own rules. Then she meets Max and for the first time, she’s tempted to break them. He’s off limits, and she has a plan that doesn’t include a hot hockey player.
He says he wants her, but she can see the truth in his eyes. She should have just followed her rules and guarded her heart.
Those three little rules were supposed to save her, until she broke them all.

Brooke is living a life that no teenager should have to endure which has ensured that she allows very few people close and even those that are don’t know the full story. She believes the best way to protect herself is to distance herself for others and that worked well for her until Max saw through her walls and wanted more.
Max appears to be living a charmed life but the truth is much different. He is always willing to put the needs of those he cares about first despite the personal consequences to himself. He is intrigued by Brooke and can’t stay away even if it is destined to end in heartbreak.
This is a beautiful story about love and healing that is filled with so much emotion. Both Brooke and Max are damaged in their own ways but when they finally open their hearts and minds to the possibilities of what they could have it was magical to watch.
4.5*
The Last Book in the series. I have been waiting for Brooks story and I was not disappointed. This was an emotional read. My heart broke for Brooke and for what she went through and what she had to deal with and still put on a brave face. She is a strong independent woman trying to survive and Max tries to show her its ok to ask for help and wants to be there for her. Loved all three stories but this one was my favorite.
I received an ARC and volunteered to leave a review.

– Rules (Greyford Wolves, #3) by Anna B. Doe is an absolutely amazing ending to the Greyford High Series! I have been DYING for Brook’s story since she was first introduced in Lines (Greyford Wolves, #1). I always knew that there was going to be MORE to her story. Rules deals with some difficult subject matter, it’s not an easy read. But it’s exactly how I knew Max and Brook’s story would be. Heartbreaking, emotional, and angsty af, but you won’t be able to put it down! Anna B. Doe has created these characters and each and every storyline with such depth that it makes it so easy to immerse yourself into the world that she’s created. I love that she’s not afraid to dive headfirst into the tough stuff. If you enjoy angsty YA/NA reads, then Rules, as well as the rest of the PHENOMENAL Greyford High Series, is going to be right up your alley!
– Max and Brook’s story is a bit of a slow burn, they are frenemies for quite a bit but there is ALWAYS that sexual tension between them. When they both get out of their own heads and realize what they have right in front of them… things heat up and sparks are flying!
ℂ – Nope, no cliffhanger. This is the ending of the Greyford High Series. Brook and Max do finally get a happily ever after, BUT they work for it, in my opinion, more than any of the other couples in the series! I also loved the extended epilogue, if you have a chance to check that out, it’s just the icing on the cake!
– Rules deals with some pretty tough subjects that could be considered triggers. Unfortunately, I can’t list them as they would give away major spoilers. But just know, this is not a light, easy, read.

Anna B. Doe scores a hat trick with book three in the Greyford High series, Rules. This is hockey player Maximillian (Max) Sander’s and Brook Taylor’s book. I was really looking forward to their story. Anna B. Doe outdid herself. The novel takes place during their senior year of high school. Parts of it coincide with the previous two books.
Anna B. Doe did an amazing job with her character development. Max and Brook are remarkable characters. Max is a good guy with a big heart. He is extremely protective of those he cares about. Brook has been through a lot. She is talented, observant, and strong. Both have issues. At first, they seem to be very different from each other. The more we learn about them the more alike they really are. They are perfect for each other. They help save each other.
The plot was skillfully executed. There were unexpected twists. This story covered heartbreaking issues that left me emotional. I could see this book causing triggers for rape/abuse. I suggest reading the other stories in the Greyford High series first. I recommend this book to people who enjoy sports romances that cover relevant/difficult topics. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
This is the 3rd book in the Greyford High series and is the most emotional one.
Max and Brook relationship was rocky from the start.
Max was in love Brook’s friend Lia, and once Lia and Derek got together, Brook felt like she was his second choice.
Brook has a tortured past and she thinks she is broken and unloved.
Max has a need to help and protect her, even though she feels that she doesn’t deserves it.
Brook has build a thick wall around her heart to protect herself. She is afraid to let any one in., Will Max the be the one to finally break down her wall?
#BROOKANDMAX4EVER
Five FIRECRACKER stars for Brook and Max !!!
I finally had the chance to read “Rules”, Brook and Max’s story, which I was waiting for since book one.
And I got more than expected.
I cannot without comparing this book with the first book “Lines” from the series “Greyford High”.
Not because “Lines” was bad and this one was brilliant.
It’s because if you’ve read both of them you can see how the characters became mature and how Anna’s writing style got the next level.
I love her writing style since “Lines”.
It’s simple and beautiful.
Everything that one YA book needs to be.
But, with this book, she really surprised me.
The first half of the book was like I used to.
But, the second half of the book shocked me because I never thought she would write about some themes.
She put some things I didn’t expect and that happened.
Because I always get some opinion about how some writer writes, already from the first book I read by them.
And she/he continues writing in that way other books.
But, not Anna.
She put in her book something I didn’t expect and I loved it so much!
“Rules” is so emotional young adult romance book that will make you laugh but also make cry in some moments.
Brook and Max’ s relationship is a really slow burn.
First, they were enemies, then they became friends and after so many ups and downs they finally got their happily ever after.
Their story is complex and heartbreaking that shattered my heart in thousands of pieces, countless times.
Brook is definitely my favorite female character from “Greyford High” because she had that three “rules” which are exactly the same rules I have too in my life but from some other reasons.
I love her wish to become better than her mother.
Her persistence to get that no matter how hard that would be.
Max is so different from my current book boyfriends because at first, he gave the impression of the bad boy but when I started reading his story I got another impression.
He is so far away from the bad boy.
He is so sensitive to his twin sister and he would do everything to see her happy.
And that is something you can’t see every day.
Yes, brothers in books are always protected when it comes that their sisters have boyfriends and in the most the case that usually these boyfriends are brothers’ best friend/friend.
But, Max’s unconditionally love there was before Jeanette and Andrew’s relationship.
The same goes for his feelings for Brook.
No matter how many times she pushed him away, he was always there to protect.
Only that one time, when both of their worlds fell apart.
I also read the bonus scene I was so happy how it all turned out.
And for being honest I would be disappointed if that different ended (for the one who has read this book, they know what I am talking about).
I would be happy if Anna will write another bonus scene to show us, how the lives of the Greyford family turn out after they all went to college.
If you’re looking for a YA romance series that will bring out of you each of your emotions and also will make you laugh, then “Greyford High” is you next MUST TO READ series!
Highly recommended!!!
This is the first book i have read from this author… and now I’m done I’m going back to read this series in order.
Although each book can be read as a stand-alone, i think it would be even better if i knew backstories.
But don’t get me wrong… i adored this book.
Max and Brook are both amazing characters.
Brook has been broken… but she is a surviver… determined to do it on her own.
Max feels its his duty to save everyone he loves…
The two of them have this kinda love/hate thing going on.
Brook must discover that she needs to let people in… Max that he can’t save eveyone just because he loves them. Sometimes he just needs to be there… regardless of what they are going through. All they need to know is that they are loved.
This is a wonderfully written story which takes you on an emotional roller coaster. But it is also a beautiful love story.
Not only will i be checking out the other books in this series… but all the authors other work.
Highly recommended
I was given an ARC for an honest review.
This was beautiful story! It’s emotional and heartwarming! Brook’s and Max’s story is a roller coaster ride!! I would recommend this story to anyone who loves beautiful, Broken characters and an emotional story line that you won’t be able to put down!
The last and final instalment of the series and it was by far my favorite of the three. All I can say is wow,my poor heart. This book was emotional for me and so wonderfully written.
Brook and Max together was so much better than I ever thought possible and Anna really painted a truly amazing picture with all the details in her writing. Brook was the secret active I’ve, the one that you you thought you didn’t like, yet she was the strongest and must incredible character.
I am sad the series is over but so impressed by this writer. Cannot wait to see what vines next!!!
This was my favourite books of the series. I’ve been intrigued by Brook since the beginning so I was really looking forward to her story. I absolutely loved her and getting to see more about her and why she’s so icy. She’s so strong and definitely has a piece of my heart. Max is such a sweetheart and Brook is the ice queen, they bring the heat and go together perfectly.
This story was so raw and real, it was a fantastic emotional journey. It was heartbreaking and sweet, the perfect ending to a great series. If you haven’t started this series yet, I highly recommend it.
Rules Book 3 Greyford High
By Anna B. Doe
5 Stars
Amazingly beautiful but also heartbreaking. Captivated my interest throughout.
“For as long as I can remember, my life was a fucking nightmare. I tried to resist it, I tried to rise above it, but it beat me to the ground. Over and over again. Robbing me of everything I held dear.”
Really loved this additive series!
Rules by Anna B Doe was incredible. It had so much emotion and rawness and drama, I just couldn’t put it down.
This book had so much, and it drew me in from the first page. I loved these characters and the way they developed throughout. I simply adored it.
A brilliant way to end the series. Highly recommended.
Completely and utterly overwhelmed!!! More than 5 stars!!!! I’ve been with this group of friends from the beginning and to say I was eager to read Max and Brook’s story is an understatement!!!
Brook has always had a piece of my heart being this closed off girl who kept to herself and didn’t let anyone give her crap. Now that I’ve read her own story and met THE BROOK TAYLOR, oh my goodness do I love this woman with all my heart. She’s been broken and hurt, she’s been tossed aside and left behind but the fierce in her face and ability to be strong anyway just left me speechless. I wholeheartedly admire this woman and everything she accomplished!!!
Max was pretty different than I expected him to be but I still swooned. I had quite the few ups and downs with him throughout just because I knew someone was getting hurt. Things turned out WAY different than I expected! My stomach even dropping at some point!
Hot dang Anna!!! I’m so sad this series has come to an end!! You blew my mind with this one!! Your words were amazing and so worth the long read! Lol. I was a little shocked how long it was BUT I don’t think the story could’ve been told any other way! Congrats and I hope this becomes a best seller! You definitely deserve it!!!
Anna was so kind to send me an ARC of the third book in the Greyford High series
I honestly didn’t think it can top Habit but it came pretty close! I love Max so much, he’s such an amazing human being. So kind and protective. And Brooke is a complicated but very strong character with tough past. And together they are perfect!
The first half of the book was harder for me to get into but then??? Ohhhh boiiii!
But tbh the thing I enjoyed the most was the relationships between siblings. I love that. Makes me wanna have a brother (lol I have one but we’re not at all close).
Ending made me cry and it made me feel so happy
Boy this was heavy. We knew Brook and Max’s story would be that way and even thought I went in eyes wide my heart still broke.
This read has so many heart wrenching moments. I cried for Brook and begged her to finally open up which I was so glad she did. How can one person take so much?
These two are perfect and I absolutely loved their story and getting inside their heads and hearts. Wonderful book and addictive series.

* Review by Michelle
Wow, just wow! I have been dying to read about Max and Brook’s story since book #1. Doe hit the nail on the head with encompassing every emotional mark there is. You will feel gutted along with the characters. You will feel vindicated for them. This book is a powerful statement of real-life experiences and traumas that can alter someone into being stronger or falling apart. Max is still infatuated with Lia. Soon, he discovers that what he was experiencing was a crush and not love. Unfortunately, he has a lot of work to do to prove to Brook she isn’t a stand-in for what he can’t have. Brook, not only, helps Max discover his academic potential but makes him come alive and be confident in himself. Max’s devoted, caring, a hero-to-the-rescue heart gives him the perfect characteristics to help Brook. Brook has experienced trauma no one should ever have to go through. Through her strong, warrior-like attitude she goes the extra mile for her friends, especially Max. In-kind, Max becomes the immovable pillar and protector that Brook needs. This is an outstandingly phenomenal book that not only engages your emotions but wreaks havoc on your psyche.
This book is realistic and hits upon many real-life issues. It contains some sensitive topics. However, I think Doe portrayed these situations with mature and redeeming qualities. This is a series that can’t be missed!
I was given a free copy in exchange for my honest opinion.
Oh Max and Brook! What a beautifully, broken, dynamic connection.
Max is a protector by nature, and after what happened to his sister, he is on high alert.
Brook is fierce and has walls a mile high. She is independent and closed off.
These two together go at each other’s throats more than they get along. However, there are glimpses when the walls fall and all is right in the world.
I really enjoyed this story. It gives explanations as to why they are both the way they are, but my heart broke the most for Brook. She had a lot to overcome and watching her get there was amazing and hard at the same time.
I have been rooting for these two since the beginning, and was so happy for them to get their HEA. I just wish we had gotten more of them after the HEA.
This series has been such a wild ride. The twist in this book was one I never saw coming, but it made the book and series come full circle.
– An Arc was generously provided in exchange for an honest review.-
This has been one of my most anticipated reads! I have been wanting Max and Brook’s story since Lines, the first in there series, and Anna B. Doe did not disappoint!
Max fell for Amelia but she chose someone else. Max is a good guy that wants to fix the rift between him and his sister, Jeanette, and also nurse his broken heart. Yet, this snarky girl keeps diverting his attention. That snarky girl? Brook, Amelia’s best friend.
Brook is blunt, snarky and has a closet full of secrets. She protects her heart with everything that she has except people have a way of making her break her own rules she’s set in place to protect herself.
I don’t have the words to say how great this story is! It’s raw, it’s heartbreaking and it’s so beautiful! It’s not a light read by any means but that’s how Max and Brooks’s story was supposed to be.
The jaw-dropping revelations made throughout the story were amazing! I loved how one of those took us all the way back to the beginning of the series and before. I was floored and did not see it coming.
Even though this story can easily stand on its own, it’s so much better when read with the other two.
Anna B. Doe writes each story in a way that matches the tone of the characters. Amelia is the sweetheart, Jeanette is the ice princess, and Brook is the girl that hides a world of hurt behind her sarcastic, biting words.
I fell in love with the Greyford High Series and am sad that it’s over. Anna B. Doe gave us a series that has been exceptional and a perfect young adult romance series!
Rules was an amazing read. Anna B. Doe brings us Max and Brook’s story. This is part of the Greyford High Series but can be read as a standalone. I loved how you see things from both these characters perspective from the previous books. I have followed this series from the beginning so to see Brook get her hea made me so happy. I was sucked in from the very beginning and didn’t stop until I devoured every last word. Anna knocked this one out of the park. You will be in the feels and wanna knock the characters a few time in frustration but at the end of it all you will be feeling good!
