Rule #18: Daddy’s boy will always believe in his Santa Daddy.Homeless, alone, and now jobless, Cameron Evans is lost… until he’s found after a prominent local attorney literally trips over him when the boy is passed out from dehydration. Scott Hendrickson has two things in life: his job as an assistant district attorney, and his son Davey. Other than that, he lives alone in a house that’s too … in a house that’s too big, too empty, too… lonely.
It’s not just Cameron’s life that might change for the better when Scott takes him in. Scott can provide material things and security, but Cameron returns the favor by breathing fresh air into Scott’s stale life.
Two men who need each other… one magical holiday season. Could a little Christmas magic be all that’s needed to bring the biggest gift of all? Maybe Cameron doesn’t need a Sugar Daddy… because he already has a Santa Daddy.
This is the third book in a series about not-so-perfect Daddies, adorable “boys,” and one sassy brat with an insane list of rules. Get ready for all the squishy holiday feels you’d want from a Susan Hawke book.

This is the third book in the Davey’s Rules series, and although it can be read as a stand-alone, I highly suggest you read the first two books. You won’t be disappointed.
Oh my goodness. My heart melted in a goo of candy cane fluff and delight by the time I finished this book. By far the most fluffiest and sweetest book of the Davey’s Rules series, I had a delighted smile on my face the entire time. There was some brief brushes with angst, but honestly, those brushes were just there as a catalyst for the rest of the fluff fest.
Davey’s father, Scott, a workaholic who hasn’t the time for relationships, literally stumbles over the boy of his dreams outside a restaurant. Cameron is cute and so desperately in need of Daddy Dom that Scott seamlessly falls into the role with barely any friction. Compared to the other books in the series, this book was high on the romance and fluff, and the steamy sex scenes were later in the book. However, the sex scenes were just as hot and delicious as I have come to expect for a Susan Hawke book.
Overall, this was delightful read that truly embraced the holiday spirit with kink and romance.
I’m reviewing the audio edition. Each of the stories have held my heart for different reasons. Some because of the fun and laughs I got. This one broke my heart from the beginning. Cameron is totally without ego. He is on the point of no return when Scott actually almost falls upon him. From the beginning I felt the warmth in Scott and the need in Cameron. I have to say there are quite a few laughs in this story also. Since Scott is Davey’s dad I would have expected no less. Davey is a character on his own level and when someone is getting involved with his dad, it makes for entertaining actions on Davey’s part. I really enjoyed the comparison Scott made when shopping between Cameron and Davey. I love this story. Michael Pauley’s narration really brought this story to life for me.
Lots of super sweet moments. Scott’s first sighting of Cameron puts him instantly into protective mode. Cameron’s had it tough but he manages to fall into the right lap. Poor Davey watches his father choose his own ‘boy’ and is not impressed by having to listen to them be in love. The horror of knowing anything about his dad’s romantic life makes him shudder and gave me a few laughs I do like the steps Davey takes to make sure his father and Cameron come together and make it the best Christmas for all of them.
Highly recommended author and series
Audiobook: clear and nicely paced
Oh my goodness I just adore Davey’s dad Scott. Watching him finally realize it’s ok to live again, and go after what he wants and needs is breathtaking. As for Cameron, he deserves all the love in the world. This was wonderfully written.
Rules for Santa is the third book in the Davey’s Rules series by Susan Hawke. Cameron and Scott are absolutely perfect in this sweet and sexy love story. There is a great amount of humor, a little drama and enough romance to make my heart happy. I love this!
There is a lot of humor to be found in this story. Poor Davey to see his father find a match as a daddy had to be so hard for the poor guy. I do love the way that Scott and Cameron just seem to fit each other.
*AUDIOBOOK REVIEW *

It’ll get you ready for Santa All the feels!
I’m loving this series and loved Davey’s dad! Such a feel-good story, I loved confident, strong Scott and sweet, somewhat innocent Cameron and loved their happily ever after!
While a little awkward for poor Davey, he is always there to add some flare and unique insight! I loved the polar opposites between Davey and His dad, Scott. I’m starting to really feel for Davey, I hope he gets his perfect Daddy soon!!
I loved the caring dynamic between Scott and Cameron and felt they were well matched and had great chemistry. It was fun seeing more of Scott and his background and Cameron’s story was a little heart-breaking. I felt the heat and the love between these two. A thoroughly enjoyable read!!
I’m loving all the characters in this series and all the workers at Daddy’s Lap. My heart is still broken over Raphael‘s death in the last book and Susan shows so much love to all the characters still recovering, grieving and healing from such a loss.

This series has such awesome content and across the stories there is Davey, the most lovable guy with a list of rules for Daddy’s and boys.
Having their lunch, Davey and his father Scott, watch a beautiful young busboy fail at every task. In the end, the beautiful ginger got thrown outside without a job.
When Scott gets to his car he stumbles over some feet. There lies the young busboy, unconscious, with a backpack in front of him.
Scott finds out Cameron is homeless and dehydrated and in need of care.
Scott takes him home, to his big lonely home and there starts a very sweet and kind relationship.
Cameron is twenty years old and his biggest Christmas wish is to have his own Daddy.
Scott, at forty-eight, just reached the point to search for love again, he so wants to take care of this baby boy.
It’s the perfect picture, the perfect timing for both at the perfect time of the year!
What follows is just the cutest, sugar sweetest story. We get to know Cameron and Scott better, we experience the kind environments Davey works in and how he is the best wittiest son on this earth. The careful way Scott handles Cam is endearing. The joy Cam gives Scott is so lovable. They are perfect together.
The whole story breathes kindness and comfort and there is even some sexiness. There is a lot of easygoing humor and witty comments in this story. The characters were all very lovable, Davey is absolutely one of the highlights! The Daddy Club and his owners have of course a place in this story.
There are hurtful moments and times with reflections, but always with feelings of hope, and the knowledge and trust it will be good at the end. It was so relaxed to read a story where you know firsthand everything will work out just fine.
The whole picture was endearing, all smoothly written with just the right comfortable pace, it had entertainment on every page. I got a bit giddy from all the cuteness from these guys. I enjoyed it all very!
Cheeky, hot and sexy.
Rules for Santa is the first book I’ve read by Susan Hawke but I have read another one written under her other pen name of Susi Hawke.
I enjoyed reading this book but I thought it was a bit schmaltzy in places. Scott (the daddy) was already calling Cameron sweetheart by Chapter 2 and they’d just barely met. A few other things seemed a bit over-the-top as well but I think this might just be part of this author’s style. I suspect that the book is intended to be that way as well as a bit humorous. Once I decided that this was true, I just went with it and began to enjoy the story.
I especially liked Scott’s son, Davey. I was a bit confused by the prologue at first because I knew the story was about Scott and Cameron, not Scott and Davey. I’ve not read the earlier books in this series (and I do think this one stands alone), so once I figured out what the prologue was all about, I didn’t have any other problems understanding anything about the story. I have to say that Davey is a hoot and I hope he gets a book of his own soon.
The blurb does a great job of explaining the story so take a look at it. After Scott rescues Cameron, their relationship begins to progress very rapidly so this is kind of an insta-love story which I know some readers don’t care for. They don’t bother me as long as the rest of the story is good.
The book has lots of feels and holiday cheer and I really liked that. I enjoy reading holiday themed stories at any time of the year but especially at Christmas time. While I don’t think that daddy/boy stories will ever be my favorite in the MM romance genre, I do like to experience things out of my comfort zone from time-to-time so I’m glad I read this one.
A copy of this book was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author.

Cameron makes one to many mistakes and is fired. Scott, who feels partially responsible, find Cameron passed out in an alley. At the hospital Scott discovers the young man is dehydrated and malnourished. He convinces Cameron to go home with him. Let the Daddying begin.
This book was so sweet it gave me a sugar overload. Cameron is the perfect boy to Scott’s Daddy. Both men were perfect for each other. Cameron’s mannerisms sometimes made him seem younger than he was.
The author always gives her readers well written thoughtful stories. This one is a slow burn, Daddy/boy, with very little angst.
Rules for Santa by author Susan Hawke is the third book in Davey’s Rules series. This book has heat, humor, and a little light angst to get me turning the pages and wanting more. This is my first time reading this series and I was not lost starting with book number three. This book is written in dual pov which I love. It is fun read. Lots of humor in this book I loved it.
Cameron is a server at a restaurant. He is taken with Davey’s dad. But he stumbles over his own two feet, he manages to get a reprimand and fired right in front of the sexiest man he has ever seen. He is really down on his luck and when Scott finds him passed out in front of the restaurant, he helps the younger man.
Scott is an attorney and he works hard. He is trying to slow down and enjoy things a little but has yet to find the man to share it all with. Then he meets Cameron, someone who needs him on a level no one has ever needed him before. From there a love that is strong and true grows.
I loved the humor in this book, and I loved the connection that Cameron and Scott have. They are really perfect for each other. I recommend this book to any lover of true romance. I know this one is going on my keeper shelf.
