If your ex arrives in your hometown eighteen months after you walked out on him while you were eight months pregnant, follow this short list of rules before you give him a second chance. Rule #1 – Don’t stand in the way of your brothers who want to rough him up.Rule #2 – Don’t meet him for coffee and agree to allow him to meet your daughter.Rule #3 – Don’t drool when your daughter falls asleep … your daughter falls asleep on his chest for the first time. It’s just your ovaries talking.
Rule #4 – Don’t let him hold your hand. While we’re at it, no hugs, no kisses on the cheek… just no physical contact in general. That only leads to remembering better times.
The last one is the most important…
Rule #5 – When you find yourself needing someone’s help and you’re tired of always asking your family, don’t let him be the one who’s there for you.
Because all those good qualities of his will suck you right back in and you’ll have no chance of fighting your feelings, especially now that he’s ready to be a father to your daughter.

Sedona and Jamison started out young and strong, who would have ever thought their story would take a turn in a direction that separated them. This was probably the hardest Bailet story for me to read because the circumstances surrounding Sedona and Jamison’s time away form each other are ones that a lot of people can relate with.
Sedona is currently a single mother to a wonderful little girl, she is doing her best back in Alaska with her family by her side. One day Jamison comes back into their lives and everything takes another turn. Just when she thought her life would be one way and had started to come to terms with that, she gets thrown another curve ball. I love Sedona and her whole family. I love how they each rally around each other but in different ways. I am really going to miss the Baileys. I absolutely feel in love with Palmer.
Jamison was someone that it took me a little bit of time to fall in love with him because of his and Sedona’s past. This was one character that truly was trying to make up for all his past sins and finally find the place he had been missing for years. He really redeemed himself and made me fall in love with him.
I’m sad this is the last book for the Bailey’s but am excited to see what mischief Grandma and Ethel get into when it comes to Ethel’s family.
I can’t believe this is the last full length Bailey family book. Why!! I want so many more! I loved this family. Each Bailey sibling was so memorable & their love stories were engaging & loveable. Gah I can’t say enough how much I loved this series & I’m so sad it’s coming to an end.
Sedona, she was always the quiet sister in the family. Never really seen much of her in past books. She was so strong, loving & so damn giving. I loved her. Palmer was absolutely adorable & you couldn’t help but fall in love with her.
Jamison, I never really liked him in past books so I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about him in this book. Even though he turned his life around, he’s lucky Sedona is a soft & forgiving person. But everyone has their demons & he did do the work for his second chance.
I can’t believe it just ends like that! I feel like I need to see at least 5 years in the future for each couple. I know they have happily ever afters all of them but still I like to see that far in the future happily ever after. The ending did get me excited for the Greene family & I’m happy to see we might get to the see the Bailey’s on occasion.
I loved this book & this series is definitely one I will reread again & again. I received an arc of this book in return for an honest review.
This is the Bailey book I have been waiting for and we are finally getting Sedona’s story! Having seen Jamison and Sedona’s relationship playing out in the background throughout the series I am excited to see what is happening between them.
Jamison turns up at a family celebration after being out of Sedona and their daughter life for since she was born for the last few years. TBH as much as i wasn’t a fan of his to start he showed guts facing the over-protective Bailey boys. He has made huge mistakes and is still battling his demons but I did love seeing the way he was with his daughter. He was prepared to do whatever it took to win Sedona and his family back.
This is honestly a beautiful story of pain, heartbreak, forgiveness, healing and love.
I have loved every one of these tales in the Bailey’s series and finally a huge secret is revealed that has been kept throughout this series. If you haven’t read this series I honestly recommend you start at the beginning so you can thoroughly enjoy these characters and their stories without getting spoiler alerts.
5 Can They Find Their Way Back to Who They’re Meant to Be Stars!!!
The wait for Sedona Bailey’s book was completely and totally worth it!! I’ve watched her throughout this series and knew that when her story was given to us, it’d be a doozy and I was right!! Sedona and Jamie have loved each other for forever and they honestly felt they’d be together forever…until Jamie’s life changes on a dime with a career ending injury that lands him in a state of flux that has dire consequences that Sedona wasn’t willing to risk with their beautiful and sweet girl Palmer.
I’ve always wondered how he was going to enter back into their lives after Sedona came home to Lake Starlight to the love of her family to help her raise Palmer because she never thought Jamie would be there for them again…but one day everything changes when not only does he show up in Lake Starlight, but he’s ready to do anything he needs to to reclaim Sedona and Palmer!!
I have so much respect for Sedona Bailey. She’s determined to be independent and protect not only her heart but that of her daughter from being hurt by Jamie. I’m giving props to Jamie here. He’s not willing to accept that he can’t be the man and father that his girls need. With a little help from other Bailey’s his mission begins showing Sedona that he can be everything she needs and wants him to be.
I loved the slow burn of their reconnecting and really seeing how his recovery is part of his every day life and I so appreciate that Piper and Rayne didn’t back away from the realities of a recovering alcoholic. The connection that Sedona and Jamie had before their lives changed is just as strong as it always was and little by little we see how the re-bond not only with each other as a couple but as a family as well. There’s no shortage of laughs in this book courtesy of all the Bailey siblings and of course Grandma Dori!
This book is everything I wanted for Sedona and while I’m incredibly sad to see this series end, I know that we’ll be seeing this family again thanks to the newest upcoming series that revolves around Grandma Dori’s bestie Ethel’s grandkids and I can’t wait for this new family to fall in love with!!!

So sad that this is the last book in the Baileys’ series. But what an amazing book it is! Full of everything you come to expect from Piper Rayne, laughs till you cry, tears and lumps in your throat and the BEST ending ever!!!

Rules for Dating Your Ex was the ninth book in the Bailey’s series by the authors Piper Rayne. It was the final sibling of the series and the series was best read in order.
Sedona. We’ve seen Sedona in just about every Bailey book and in the last few she was a single mom. I don’t recall seeing Jameson much, but the stage was set not to like him. They were high school sweethearts, he turned into a professional soccer player and then she returned home single and pregnant. The Bailey’s were unforgiving. But as the book opened, Palmer, their daughter was eighteen months old and Jameson came to claim his family. The authors brought us a very real and vulnerable Jameson and I fell in love almost immediately. I say almost because I needed a little back story but once that was provided, through Jameson’s POV, I was a goner.
I loved everything about Jameson, Sedona and Palmer. It was real, raw and emotional. I felt everything. It didn’t dawn on me until near the end that this series was ending. I was sad but it ended in the most perfect way. I loved all of the Bailey interaction and how it mingled with the rawness of Sedona and Jameson’s story. It was well written, well developed, full of depth, complexity and the perfect full circle conclusion.
I hope the authors will one day give us a legacy spin off. The stage was definitely set for the numerous cousins as they all grow up together. In the meantime, the authors left us with a teaser for the Buzz Wheel to continue with the spin off series for Ethel’s grandchildren, The Greene Family, set in the neighboring town of Sunrise Bay. First up is My Beautiful Nemesis and I can’t wait!
Before I get into this review, I just have to say I KNEW IT!! I knew who was behind Buzz Wheel! I guessed right! And no, I won’t tell you who it was. But I’m loving that there is going to be a spinoff series!
This is Sedona’s book. She’s the last of the Bailey’s to get her happily ever after. We learn why she left Jameson. I 100% agree with her and would have done the same thing.
Now he’s back, and he wants her and Palmer in his life again, and forever. He has to work for it though.
I love what Sedona did to help Austin and Holly out.
This is a great read.
Rules For Dating Your Ex is the ninth title in The Baileys series and featuring the last Bailey sibling to find their happy ever after Sedona.
Sedona and Jamison’s story is an emotional second chance romance, that whilst completely enjoyable is also bittersweet as it’s the end to a series I’ve come to love.
The connection and chemistry this pair shares is undeniable, but there is a lot of hurt in their past that they must forgive in order to find their happy ever after.
Jamison is a professional soccer star who lost his way after a career ending injury. Sedona is a travel writer, who is incredibly strong, resilient and independent.
I love how these siblings will do anything for each other, and love to meddle in each other’s lives.
This pair are completely endearing and fallible, which makes them all the more relatable.
I will be eagerly awaiting the Greene Family series to return to Alaska with the amazing writing duo that is Piper Rayne.
4.5 Stars
I haven’t read every book in The Baileys series, but once I read the blurb for Rules for Dating Your Ex I needed it asap.
One thing that was abundantly clear was that I needed more of Sedona and Jamison and desperately wanted their book. And after getting little pieces here and there I couldn’t wait to see how everything would transpire.
I applaud Sedona for what she did even though it was a hard decision to make. She needed to do what was best for her and her unborn child. She’s strong and capable and just an amazing person—I loved her.
Even though I was a bit angry with Jamison, I commend him for bettering himself and getting his life back on track. He has to show Sedona he’s a changed man and in the process earn her forgiveness. I was rooting so hard for him, especially because he’s worked to get to a place where he’s deserving of his daughter and Sedona and to become a family.
This story had me in laughs, but it also brought the emotions. I hurt for both Sedona and Jamison and wanted nothing more than for them to have that much deserved happy ending. I loved all the characters and all the love this family has for each other. And I especially loved grandma Dori, she was such a hoot. This was an all-around great read, and I can’t wait for what’s next.
Deep breath in….
The last of the Baileys has arrived. It was bittersweet to see this book land in my Kindle. I’ve been not so patiently counting down the days until Jamie and Sedona arrived, however it was with that impending ecstatic yet sad feeling I got as I neared the end of my pregnancies. (Read the book, this will make sense )
Real talk time and real review time.
Piper and Rayne have written the most beautiful of endings for this special family. In Kingston’s book (Winning My Best Friend’s Girl) we learned that Sedona had abruptly arrived back home, angry, hurt, devastated and pregnant.
In this book, we learn all of the little and big reasons why. Jamie and Sedona have been insta loves since Jamie first landed in Alaska for a study abroad program his senior year. Fiercely focused on football (the euro kind kiddos!) he was introduced to the twins via Phoenix’s eye rolling horrific blade of a tongue, before realizing that the dark haired girl wanting to interview him for the paper wasn’t the same person.
Sedona and Jamie were that couple that everyone sighs over. They just recognized their soul’s counter point in another. Yeah. That’s a movie quote. Wedding Crashers I think.
While they recognize that they can’t support a trans Atlantic relationship while Jamie plays and Sedona attends college, Jamie jumps on a chance to return to play in the States. In Sedona’s state none the less. Jamie shows up on her doorstep and it’s as if time never passed.
Then comes the heartache. An injury and surgery for Jamie. A young player, desperate not to lose his spot on a rooster, going back to play too soon, and then the harsh end of a career way at the height of youth.
Some of us may have lived this road ourselves. A dream that you have invested your entire being into for eons, suddenly gone. You’re lost and struggling for a sense of self, and grieving. As with all of life’s biggest gut punches a person chooses how they deal with it. Jamie chooses…poorly. He makes choices that place him, Sedona, and their unborn child at great risk. I have always admired Sedona for having the courage to understand that staying would be destructive for her and having the strength to pack and leave. Yes, it hurt and scarred her. Yes, it meant removing a parent from a child’s life, but at that time, Jamie wasn’t fit to be a parent.
Jamie comes crashing back into the Bailey’s lives 18 months later. He literally crashes a baby shower. And if that isn’t enough of a shock, it’s Sedona’s. Before he can take that all in, he realizes his daughter is deaf.
Those are the story lines I’ll leave you with. Anything more will ruin the very best Bailey story. No lie.
Piper and Rayne write a recovering addict with grace and love. They expose Jamie in all of his humanity, his struggles, his regret, his new focus and drive. They write Sedona perfectly as well. Sedona has and always will be a strong woman who understands at her core what she deserves in her life. She may not go in with guns and words blazing like her twin, but in her way she has steel in her and she won’t bend on the big stuff.
Reading the redefining and newly growing love between Sedona, Jamie and their daughter is wonderful. Reading this book is like watching one of your idols crash and burn yet fix themselves right in front of you. This goes for both Sedona AND Jamie.
I adored that all of the Bailey’s appear and intertwine in this story. As Sedona and Jamie were teenage lovers, the Bailey’s have always been wrapped up in their relationship. Austin and King’s roles in this book gave me the warm and fuzzies. I still desperately want a Grandma Dori for myself. She hides such a huge heart behind all of her meddling.
At this point I think I’ve rambled on enough. You’re all rolling your eyes at my sappiness by now. I’ll leave you with a few “rules” Sedona and Jamie style
Rule 1 – read this book. It is it’s own story and fully focuses on Sedona and Jamie.
Rule 2 – Read ALL of the Baileys. Honestly if you read this one, you’re going to want to anyway. Big bunch of loving and interfering fools.
Rule 3 – Never trust Gma D
If I were Piper or Rayne, this is where a character would jump in and steal my computer to make me stop.
Here are my last two teasers….mysteries are solved and answered. Also, don’t think the Baileys didn’t rub off on anyone else. There’s more in Alaska than just these crazy kids. You may want to follow Piper Rayne in all the socials and book apps. Trust me on that.
Piper and Rayne – Thank you ladies for the most perfect and wonderful ending for the Baileys. My heart is happy, my tears were happy, and you did this family the BEST job ever.
The day has finally come. The day Sedona’s ex has come to beg for her back. To get his daughter in his life. But, in this town with Sedona’s family, it will not be that easy to just slide right into her life again. Not after what he did to make her leave him all those months ago. When Sedona tells him she’s off the table, but they can negotiate regarding him being a part of their daughter’s life, Jamison knows he has to take whatever she’s willing to give him. But in his heart, he wants her back. He just has to prove to her that he’s a changed man, a man good enough to deserve the life they had planned. Will she give him a second chance?
I felt for these two as they were navigating their second chance love. Sedona for all the pain she went through when she had to leave Jamison, and after she came back home. And Jamison for the way he let his life spiral out of control and lost his family. But the way they came back together finally was just so beautiful. This story really got to me in the heart. I loved Sedona and Jamison together, I loved Sedona’s amazing family and the way they always have each other’s backs, and most of all, I love Palmer, the most adorable, sweetest little thing, ever. This is by far my favorite Bailey story, and it’s got me really excited for the next Bailey to fall in love and get their happy ever after.
If you were inclined, what would be the Rules for Dating Your Ex? Now before you go thinking about all the work he would be required to put in, wouldn’t you want to check and make sure there were not a few things you needed to do also? Of course when it comes to the Bailey clan and Piper Rayne, you know those steps and the adventure to follow will be nothing less than wonderful. If you have not been introduced to the Baileys yet, you have been missing out big time. Now, back to the story.
Young love can mature. With maturity comes challenges, trials, defeats and hardships. Sometimes life throws a curveball and if you don’t catch it, the results can be almost catastrophic. So is the story of Jamison and Sedona. Young love that grew to experience all the adjectives I mentioned and in the end, the hardship and separation that can follow. But that flame that was thought doused can sometimes still have a flicker deep within. Then there are times when that flame may need a little gas (Grandma Dori) to get ignited again. And who knows what can happen when all the elements like heat, passion and possible love come back together again. It is said, the heart wants what the heart wants, even when the mind does not understand why.
This is Book 9 in The Bailey’s Series. We are told it is the finale but with Piper Rayne anything is possible. This is a book that will leave you swooning and feeling good about life and taking chances…even second chances. The surprises keep coming throughout the story and in the end one of the biggest revelations are revealed. But that is not to be shared here. This is a fun story and well worth the five(5) stars I give. I so look forward to the next adventure our authors have in store for us.

So excited for Sedona’s story and a little sad that we have reached the end of the Bailey clan. This wonderful family series had been so fun to read and watch the sibling’s grow.
Sedona is doing a wonderful job of raising her young daughter alone with the help of her family. But there is one thing missing and she is struggling to move forward. Will she ever be able to trust in their love again?
Jamieson has arrived back in Starlight and he is on a mission, to get his girl and daughter back. After the loss of his career he fell to addiction of alcohol. This was the wedge that ended things for him, now that he has gotten his disease under control he wants it all back. While he shows her how much he still loves her will he be able to earn her trust back?
As far apart as they were, their love never really sizzled out. Can Sedona see past the hurt and anger, give her heart freely again?
This book was a great read. It covers many difficult subjects and finds some humor & fun.
*** Advanced copy provided in exchange for an honest review.***
I was so excited to get Sedona’s book after that last epilogue in Kingston’s book.
Sedona was so different than I was expecting. She takes on several traits. With her family, she’s the baby, and she shows them an unconditional, selfless love. What she did for Austin is still such a great reminder of how awesome she is. With Palmer, she is super mom and growing more confident by the day. And finally with Jamison, she is hesitant, unsure, and second guesses herself. Of course this is to be expected when you’re constantly wondering if your world is going to be shattered again.
Jamison was different too. I expected this confident, cocky, alpha male. He was that a little, but he was more determined, caring, and restrained when it came to his actions.
You can tell these two orbit around each other and were always meant to be. Even all the Baileys agree. Watching them help Grandma Dori pull of her wild antics was so funny. Grandma Dori is always up to something and you never know when she is going to show up next.
I’m so sad this is the last Bailey book. They have been one of the best families ever!
Another fantastic book for this series! I love a good second chance at love story and this book delivers. I’ll admit I wasn’t a fan of what Jamison did in regards to Sedona, but I’ll give him props for coming back. Seeing him and Sedona rebuild their bond was great; definitely brought all the feels, especially watching them learn to communicate and work through their issues and move towards a place of healing and forgiveness
The perfection conclusion to the Baileys series! Rules for Dating Your Ex is the story we’ve all been waiting for since meeting Sedona Bailey, and my heart couldn’t be happier right now. First and most important: If you haven’t read Lessons from a One Night Stand yet, go grab it for free and then binge-read the entire series until you’ve caught up. Now you may continue to read…
I can’t possibly express how much I love the entire Bailey clan, including their significant others and offspring. Grandma Dori is still by far my favorite and she’s even feistier in this book! While I’m sad to see the Baileys series come to an end, I’ve enjoyed the ride immensely, finding new characters to love and obsess over, and I’m thrilled for a new series to begin.
Watching Jamison have to win over Sedona, Palmer and the rest of the clan was the highlight of my week. The family interactions are hilarious and heartfelt as always, leaving you wishing there was a family reunion you could crash and somehow become an honorary Bailey. Piper Rayne have outdone themselves with this series and I will recommend it until I’m blue in the face. It’s definitely one that I’ll have on my yearly reading list to binge!
I can’t believe this is the last Bailey’s story, but what a fabulous way to end the series. I have been dying to get my hands on Sedona’s story since the beginning of the series. And boy did Piper and Rayne ever deliver!
This one was everything I hoped it would be and so so much more. I loved Sedona and Jamison and the emotion ride that they took me on. I didn’t want to get off of it. I stayed in my feels this whole book, and was so sad to see it end.
I absolutely loved this one and this whole series! If you haven’t made a trip to Lake Starlight, I highly recommend going!

I’ve been waiting for this one because I knew it was going to be good. I wanted to dive right into this one, but I was also sad to. This is the last full novel in the Bailey series. I love this family so much and I’m not ready to say goodbye. We’ve gone on one heck of a journey with this family. Sedona and Jamison’s book was everything I wanted and more. Little Palmer just stole my heart. She is so precious! The scenes with her and Jamison are going to melt your heart. Jamison has his work cut out for him when it comes to Sedona, but with us readers as well. His Scottish accent works in his favor I must admit. Right off the bat you can instantly feel the love he has for his two girls. You can also feel his determination to prove himself. This book is going to give you all the feels. This delivered on everything I needed for the last sibling’s book. I also enjoyed the set up for the new series. I can’t wait to return to Alaska. I’m chomping at the bit for it already! This is a must read book!
‘Rules for Dating your Ex’ is the ninth book in The Bailey’s Series and was everything I was hoping for. It’s sad this Series is close to it’s end but looking forward to the next family’s story.
This was a sweet second chance romance, Sedona and Jamison’s story. They have both been there all the way through, waiting in the wings. Their story is worth the wait, it also give closure on the series by finishing several other characters stories. It’s full of emotions, tears, more babies and love.
I thoroughly enjoyed this read, not wanting to put it down.
