If your ex arrives in your hometown eighteen months after you walked out on him while you were eight months pregnant, follow this short list of rules before you give him a second chance. Rule #1 – Don’t stand in the way of your brothers who want to rough him up.Rule #2 – Don’t meet him for coffee and agree to allow him to meet your daughter.Rule #3 – Don’t drool when your daughter falls asleep … your daughter falls asleep on his chest for the first time. It’s just your ovaries talking.
Rule #4 – Don’t let him hold your hand. While we’re at it, no hugs, no kisses on the cheek… just no physical contact in general. That only leads to remembering better times.
The last one is the most important…
Rule #5 – When you find yourself needing someone’s help and you’re tired of always asking your family, don’t let him be the one who’s there for you.
Because all those good qualities of his will suck you right back in and you’ll have no chance of fighting your feelings, especially now that he’s ready to be a father to your daughter.

Life may get complicated, but love makes it all worthwhile. The Baileys are back full of surprises that will break and uplift the heart. The wait is over. Sedona gets her chance to show the world her beautiful soul. She is proof that a broken heart is not the end of the world, but the beginning of something much better waiting in the wings. Rayne brings out the waterworks to get to the sunlight. My emotions have yet to recover from the quiet storm that is Sedona Bailey.
And another Bailey stole my heart…
To be honest I’m not the biggest fan of books with babies or surprise babies or just books that focus too much on babies… but wow, this book definitely stole my heart.
Sedona and Jamison were such a beautiful couple, I loved reading about their ups and downs, their love for each other so strong and passionate. It was just so beautiful to read. Definitely another masterpiece in this series.
Why is it that I really disliked Phoenix in every Bailey book but her own?
I started out thinking Jamison really was the bad guy. Although Sedona had a bad breakup, at least she had her entire family to help her out. Not saying it wasn’t difficult emotionally, but she wasn’t out there by herself trying to raise Palmer.
I did take issue with her never informing her family about how Jamison had stepped up to the plate. Not to condone his behavior, but he had some serious issues going on in his life. I completely understood why Sedona left.
When Jamison reentered the picture and his story started to come out, I couldn’t help but feel for him. I was so glad that Sedona did not use Palmer and keep her away from Jamison.
I was also glad that we got to walk through each step as Jamison attempted to redeem himself, admitting his mistakes and struggles along the way.
What I didn’t understand is why Phoenix disliked Jamison so much. She disliked him from high school, before he had even met Sedona. If it was mentioned in the book about why her animosity for him started so early, I missed it. Her attitude really stole some of the enjoyment of Jamison and Sedona’s second chance for me. In this one I got none of her kindness and vulnerability that was shown in her own book.
I thought Jamison and Sedona rediscovering one another was emotional, sweet, and a bit painful. I also loved Jamie’s interaction with Palmer.
I listened to the audiobook on Hoopla, and I would rate this book 3.5 stars.
What a HEA to wrap up this series! Jamison, you want to hate him for everything that happened, but you just can’t because he really does show just how much he wants things to work. Sedona’s character was quiet through most of the series, but here she shines as a truly independent young woman who can hold her own. I loved getting to know her and seeing the amazing strength and compassion she possesses.
Sedona has such a big heart for everyone. I felt at time she was a little to hard on Jamison. Jamison hit rock bottom & got his life in order again . Only thing missing was his family. I felt Jamison redeemed himself in this book. I was right on the money with who was behind Buzz Wheel . This book wrapped up the bailey’s books with a guess to what the next series will be .
This book is so bittersweet!!! As much as I have been looking forward to it I’ve also been dreading it at the same time. Because it’s the last Bailey sibling we have and I don’t want this series to be over!!! This is one of my favorite series of all time, definitely in my top 5!!! Sedona and Jameson was the perfect couple to end with tho. All of the shocks and surprises that came and ended with this book was absolutely perfection!! I am glad to say I was right on who was behind buzzwheel…lol If you haven’t read Piper Rayne you must these ladies are one dynamic duo that have found the magic together of creating the best worlds to go live in if only for a little while. 100 stars isn’t enough but it will start for me. -By Tina
I loved, loved, loved this book so much! I was sad for it to end but I see a spin off coming so I will hope the Bailey’s appear again.
Sedona and Jamieson stole my heart and little Palmer was a scene stealer. I loved every single thing about this book. From start to finish, everything was so well done. I think this book ended the Bailey family saga with a bang. I absolutely recommend reading the entire series in order because I know you will fall in love with this family as much as I did.
Sedona gets a surprise when her ex and baby daddy shows up in town after 18 months. Jamie says he has cleaned up his act and is ready to be a dad. Sedona has been in love with Jamie since high school but can she ever trust him with her heart again?
I love how all the Bailey siblings are so supportive of each other and will stand with each other no matter what. Grandma Dori is a riot and kept me laughing. Sedona is a strong woman and fiercely independent. Jamie has battled his way out of the bottom of the bottle and is trying to rebuild his life and a relationship with his daughter. This is a second chance at love that will make your heart happy in the end.
Author Piper Rayne has done it again and Rules For Dating Your Ex was everything! So many different emotions with Sedona and Jamison’s story and their second chance romance. There were swoon worthy, melt your heart moments, humorous scenes as always since Grandma Dori is buzzing around town and of course, love and forgiveness. I’ve loved the Baileys series since the beginning and it’s been a fantastic ride watching all nine Baileys siblings find love and HEA. This has been one of my favorite series and I would highly recommend this book and series.
I really enjoyed this book. I received the ARC, my review is given voluntarily!
Sedona is the last of her siblings to get the happy ending she deserves. The boy who won her heart in high school has grown into the man who will have it forever.
He was the foreign exchange student from Scotland that all the girls wanted, but he only had eyes for her. His soccer career took them on a crazy ride and Jameson lost his way.
It was emotional, watching how Jameson fought for his family Sedona and Plamer. He wanted them back, getting close to his cute daughter Palmer who wanted a daddy really baddly.
He knew winning the trust he had lost with his alcoholic habits 2 years ago with Sedona was going to be a uphill battle, but he was 100% all in this time.
The family give him a hard time, they definitely didn’t make it easy on this couple reuniting, but I loved how the grandmother was playing matchmaking!
This was the last book in the series, and it was a HEA without cliffhangers.
I can’t wait for the next series that is coming still set in Alaska with more matchmaking in the horizon
Wow! The 4.5 stars feels in Sedona Bailey & Jamison Ferguson’s story were off the charts! This time around with have the last full length story of the final Bailey clan and it did not disappoint. It was filled with unexpected surprises, answers that we have be anticipating, and a glimpse of characters that will be coming up in a new series by Author Piper Rayne
Jamison is back and is determine to win back the heart of Sedona and their daughter, Palmer. Although when he confronts Sedona again she is surprisingly eight months pregnant! He is here to prove that he has changed and will do what it takes to be in his daughter’s life. Sedona is not the only one he will have to face….the whole Bailey family has their thoughts and opinions on the matter. This in turn can either be a good thing or a bad thing but a challenging risk no doubt.
The flashbacks of their relationship will have you experiencing their journey of how they came to be and learning where it had gone wrong. With a child in the mix falling back to what they once were will be difficult and have their work cut out for them. The chemistry between Sedona and Jamison has never went away but is it enough to be able to reconnect and have another chance with your first love?
This was a sweet ending to life in Lake Starlight with the Bailey clan. Their family close dynamics are still strong and continues to have you wanting to be a part of this crazy bunch. Grandma Dori and her shenanigans will have you LOL and feeling the love that she has for her all grandchildren, great grandchildren, and their significant others.
Love love love the last Bailey getting their happily ever after!!!!! I was super excited to get the story of these high school sweethearts.
Sedona has been a primarily silent Bailey meaning she doesn’t show up as much in the series. She is a fierce momma to Palmer and a strong woman on her own. Her family support is what helps her get through.
Jamison is also a mystery character. The main thing we know is that Sedona’s twin, Phoenix, hates him. Also that he is a loser for letting her go. Turns out he was a drunk, who knew.
This read little a second chance romance with flash backs. That was my least favorite part. I feel like she forgave him too easy. Palmer is the best part of this book and she definitely steals the show. It’s an easy read happily ever after and good conclusion to this giant family.
If I was forced to pick a favorite member of the Bailey clan I’d have to pick Sedona. We really didn’t get to see too much of Sedona or her personality in the previous books. Phoenix was always the more “forceful” twin and she just hidden in her shadow. I absolutely loved watching her bloom as a mother and becoming sure in herself! And Jamie….I really wanted to hate him, but he worked so hard to redeem himself and become the father he should be.
I’m so sad to see the Bailey’s come to an end, but Piper & Rayne defintely whetted my appetite for Ethel’s grandkids!!!
Rules for Dating Your Ex is the end of an era, as the last Bailey sibling finds their HEA.
Sedona and Jamison were high school sweethearts who reconnected years later. When everything seemed to be going right it all went wrong. Sedona fled. Jamison spiraled. And, two years later, they are face to face again. Jamison is a different man now and needs to prove himself to not just Sedona, but the entire Bailey clan. It’s good thing he has one very special Bailey in his corner!
I loved finally getting Sedona’s story. She’s the quiet and thoughtful twin. Yet, also independent. And, family is everything to her. I adored that Jamison wasn’t perfect and that his struggles and how he dealt with them made him into the man he is now. And, Palmer is adorable in so many ways!
Readers finally discover who has been feeding all of the gossip to the infamous Buzz Wheel blog and we meet another special family one town over that will keep both Dori and Ethel busy now that all of the Bailey siblings are in committed relationships.
This series grabbed and kept my heart for every book. I feel like I know these siblings and have laughed and cried with them and celebrated and loved with them. I’m sad to see this series end, but really loved how special and unique each and every one of their stories were. 5 stars!
At last Jamison and Sedona get their story. The level headed twin and her Scottish love. This second chance romance won my heart. Especially young Palmer and the other Bailey great grandchildren.
Rules for Dating your Ex by Piper Rayne made my heart so happy!
GOODNESS GRACIOUS but Sedona and Jamison have me so many FEELS! And then there’s Palmer, who deserves a sentence all of her own, because it’s Palmer!
There is a whole lot of shared history between Sedona and Jamison and it is painful and tormented and beautiful.
Sedona comes from a huge family, the Bailey family, and they are true comedy gold and the most amazing support system I’ve ever seen and I loved reading it, wished I had it, and was so glad that it was there for Sedona with everything she went through.
Jamison is ridiculously attractive and his self awareness and his journey showcases how far he has come, how strong he is, and how focused and dedicated he is to getting what he wants.
This couple, along with the charmingly adorable Palmer take you on an emotional rollercoaster ride of a journey in this story, and every difficult, intense, sweet, and loving moment was thoroughly worth it!
Though a part of a series with a family you will fall in love with if you haven’t already, this standalone in an interconnect series had me swooning and charmed and I know you’ll love where it takes you too!
P. S. I cannot wait to fall in love with all the members of the Greene family!
This story, seriously aaaaallllllllllll the feeeeeeeeelllllllsssss and yes those words had to be elongated like that to make my point.
Book 9 and the end of the Bailey clans books, which I have to say, breaks my heart. I have lived and loved every happily ever after in this series, though Holly and Austin’s story seems so long ago, it has actually only been 2 years since the beginning, and it has been extra special to see their family grow as the series went on.
Talking of Holly and Austin, in their story Sedona and Jamison were in high school and had just started dating. Years later Jamison has had a failed professional football career, and an addiction problem after his dream was ripped away. Sedona, heavily pregnant with his daughter, returns to her family alone. 18 months later, Jamison has gotten clean and has returned to claim his family, the true loves of his life.
I adored and appreciated the jumps back to the past to get insight into Jamison and Sedona’s relationship, how it all began, and where it all went wrong, all the parts we had missed throughout the series.
I completely fell head over heels for Jamison from the very first page, he was struggling, anyone could see, but he was facing his demons and admitting his mistakes whilst trying to do all he could to prove he has changed.
Sedona is one of the strongest Bailey’s, though she is one of the quietest and most reserved, she left when it would have been so easy to stay, she is determined to do the best she can for her daughter, whether as a single mother or letting her daughters father back into their lives to have a relationship with her, and isn’t afraid to admit she couldn’t cope and needed her family’s support when her daughter was first born.
Sedona still loves Jamison, but she doesn’t trust him, she wants to be his number one priority, but doesn’t believe she can be. Jamison made a mistake letting them go once, he knows how it feels to lose them, and it’s much more painful than losing his career. His battle with alcohol addiction is something he will have to live with for the rest of his life, but he is doing everything he can to prove to his family that it won’t beat him again.
With the revelation of who has been running the infamous Buzz Wheel, as well as the happily ever after for the whole Bailey clan, this story is the perfect ending to the series. As always, there is the ever present meddling from Grandma Dori, which is hilarious, especially when the whole family ambushes Sedona at the beauty salon. With laughs a plenty, along with a bucket load of heart and soul, this is undoubtedly my favourite book of the series, and I cannot wait to see what’s next.
I can’t believe this is the last of the Bailey’s. I have loved each book. This was Sedona’s story and it was well worth the wait. We’ve gotten bits of Sedona’s story from previous books. It was so good to finally get her and Jamison’s complete story. I have loved Sedona she is such a sweet and selfless person. After Kingston’s book I was itching to get my hands on her story because I knew it was going to be great. I wasn’t ready for this awesome book. Sedona and Jamie’s story had me laughing and crying tears of joy. Piper Rayne saved the best for last. I’m so sad that this series has come to an end but I’m so thrilled all of the Bailey’s have found their HEAs
I was ready and not ready to read Rules for Dating Your Ex. First, it is the last full Baliey book but it’s about Sedona; I so badly wanted to know her and Jamison’s story after the epilogue in Winning My Best Friend’s Girl.
So much happened in this book that I don’t want to spoil anything but I will say that have your tissues handy because you will cry at some point. Okay, I will tell you one thing… it sets up the next series very well and I can’t wait to meet Eden’s grandkids.
My only disappointment was there wasn’t a check-up with all the siblings, so fingers crossed for a happy novella.
I ADORE THIS SERIES. The Bailey family is the most warm, loving, amusing group of characters. This book is the last one, it doesn’t have a great plot, only Jaimi’s alcoholism problem and his relationship with Sedona (love was never a real problem here). Nevertheless the book is really great, you can say good bye to all the characters and is a great closure of the series. I really recommend this book.
