Great introduction to the New Orleans Bourdons with “Rule Breaker” including unforgettable characters and a well-written story that immediately captivated me and kept me totally involved in all that was happening. I loved the attraction and sizzling chemistry between Nathan Shaw who is traded to New Orleans from the Bombers and Adelaide Landry whose father owns the team. Ms. Kamps blew me away with this great read and I look forward to getting to know this team as the series continues. This is a perfect read for anyone who enjoys well-crafted sports romance with heart and heat. I received an advance reader copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my review.
I enjoyed this story. Nathan Moved to New Orleans, met Addy, and they started a sex only relationship. Neither knowing the other’s last name. Addy’s father throws a party to meet the players on his hockey team. Addy discovers that Nathan is one of the players and Nathan realizes Addy is the owner’s daughter. The two initially think they can’t date each other, but it is difficult to stay apart and they secretly date. Addy’s father finds out and forbids them from dating. The two decide they want to be together and then something happens where Addy’s father changes his mind about them dating.
Once again, a good book from this author.

One night at a bar in New Orleans, Nathan and Adelaide (Addy) met. There was an immediate attraction and they figured a one night stand would help to get rid of it. But it didn’t, in fact the one night turned into weeks and feelings were being made between them. Lots of things were left unsaid, which can be good sometimes, but not when it includes what each of them does for a living and who they truly are. All of the secrets come crashing down one night when Nathan is required to go to the hockey team owner’s house and there is Addy, not as a guest, but as the owner’s daughter!
Would they be able to work it out, or would everything come to a grinding halt?
The book was okay I mean there is something there, but honestly it was way to short and left so many things empty. There could have been a lot more put into this, especially with Addy’s sister Marie, what had happened to their mother, the incident with Quinn and so much more. I’m a big fan of her previous books, especially the Bomber series, but this one seemed like it was rushed just to get out there. Kind of disappointing. I know there is a few more coming out and hope they are better and longer than this one.
I discovered this title due to an error in my search for a book on Goodreads I did not remember the name but which was about Hockey too. A pleasant mistake for once.
The basic theme of the story is hockey. I discovered Hockey thanks to a Japanese series and I liked it. The worst part is that there are two teams not far from where I live, but I have never seen a game in my life.
The story discuss the relationship between the players but the main plot remains centered on Addy and Nathan, the evolution of their relationship and the obstacles that stand in their way.
At first, it seems like Addy is very liberated, but ultimately most of her life is under control.
Nathan is a bit of a burnt head. It was for this reason that he landed in New Orleans. I do not know if I did not pay attention but I think we know less about him than Addy.
My reading was pleasant and quick, except for a length or two. I had no difficulty understanding the story.
I intend to read the next book “Troublemaker” that has an enticing summary.
This is book one in the New Orleans Bourdons series and it features Nathan and Addy. It started out simple and semi-anonymous but got complicated quickly. We all know what happens when you start spending a lot of time with someone. Feelings start to surface. I loved his determination despite the consequences. His coach was pretty awesome too. This is the first book in this series and I can’t wait for more.
Omg! I love to read books from Lisa B Kamps. Rule Breaker is the first book in a brand new series called New Orleans Bourdons. This is Nathan and Addy’s story. What was suppose to be a one night stand turned into seeing each other for weeks. Nathan is a hockey player, who is now on the new expansion team. Addy is the daugther of new owner. Can they be tigether without risking Nathan’s career? This is a MUST READ!! It will keep you turning the pages. I know it did that to me. I had to know what would happen with them. Keep up the amazing work Lisa! Can’t wait to read the next story in this series.
Breaking all the rules has never been so much fun!
This is another fantastic read and start of a series (New Orleans Bourdons) from this amazing author. Rules are meant to be broken, either intentionally or by circumstance and no one knows this better than pro-hockey player Nathan Shaw. Even as he tries to turn things around in a new city with a new team, Adelaide Landry walks into his life and breaks every rule that he as hoping he wouldn’t have to. Stand back and watch things sizzle and ignite. A truly fantastic read with well-written and engaging characters and an intense, emotional engaging storyline. There is something for everyone! Simply another great read from an amazing author! Can’t wait for the next one!
Once again Lisa takes you into the hockey world, this time with a brand new team. You have players who do not mesh and get along; an owner who just doesn’t get it (wait til you picture their uniforms); and a relationship that shouldn’t have happened and continued. Nathan and Adelaide meet one night. and continue to meet in a no-strings kind of hot relationship (be prepared to feel the heat from page one!) until feelings start to happen, then the twist comes, and… just read it. You know you want too! I cannot wait to read the antics of the rest of the team!
A casual no strings hook up mean no feelings, no phone numbers no hard feelings but alas for Nathan and Addy (Adelaide) they missed that memo and feelings get involved which leads us on a story about whether you tow the line and stay in your lane or if you break the rules in the name of love. There are some great laughs, plenty of sexy time, secrets, a new team to get to know and the chance of a great thing if both Nathan and Addy really want it!!!
Lisa B Kamps is known for her brilliant hockey romances, so it was exciting news when she confirmed a new team and series would be coming our way. The series starts with Adelaide and Nathan who aren’t necessarily a couple you’d pair together, but the heat between them is off the charts and Lisa B Kamps writes some very hot scenes between them. There’s also some great supporting characters who I know will stand up and stand out when it’s time for them to tell their own stories.
We get to see the New Orleans Bourdons from their early days of trying to come together as a team, and I’m looking forward to following their journey towards success. It can’t be easy creating a new series and introducing new characters, but Lisa B Kamps has done it so well and Rule Breaker is a great way to start off the series. If you love her other hockey romances, then you’re going to love this one as well. I’m expecting some amazing stories for the team and those they fall in love with!

Nathan and Adelaide meet and have a hot night together, the problem is that he finds out she is the daughter of the hockey team he transferred to owner. He cannot get Addy out of his mind and needs her more, but can this relationship survive her father. A well developed story line with lots of entertaining characters hopefully to get their own story.

Great introduction to the New Orleans Bourdons with “Rule Breaker” including unforgettable characters and a well-written story that immediately captivated me and kept me totally involved in all that was happening. It is awesome to have another hockey series by Lisa.
Nathan Shaw, traded to a new expansion team because of his behavior, has a one night stand with Addy…no questions, no pasts and no personal details. The one night stand became a many night stand. Unbeknownst to each other, Nathan was a hockey player on the team that Addy’s dad owns! Join this story for adventure…mayhem and love!
I was offered an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is the 3rd book I’ve read written by Lisa B. Kamps; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
I loved the characters.

“Rule Breaker” by Lisa B. Kamps is the first book in a new series and is a slightly different take on the “normal” hockey romance. Nathan, a newly traded hockey player, and Addy, an aspiring designer and heiress, are each only looking for a good time. They don’t know anything about each other except how compatible they are in bed but have been engaged in a one-night stand that hasn’t ended. It comes as a huge surprise to Addy that Nathan is a hockey player and an even bigger surprise to Nathan that the team he plays for, The New Orleans Bourdons, is owned by Addy’s father. They slowly develop feelings for each other and even though they both know that this makes their relationship more difficult, they continue to see each other. It was a lot of fun to see their relationship progress and watch them overcome the obstacles in their way. I absolutely loved Nate, Addy and all of their friends. I can’t wait for the next book in this series!
Addy and Nathan start as a one night stand but now their still together 3 weeks later still not knowing the others last name. This is an enjoyable story. The chemistry and building relationship between the two is steamy and sweet.
