When the goddess of the Underworld meets a mythical monster, all hell breaks loose.
Persephone used to be a goddess and a queen until she tried to take revenge on Hades for abducting her all those eons ago. Stripped of her magic, she’s just a lonely human, living in the small town of Saint’s Grove, trusting no one, and hiding her true identity. But at least she’s able to live on her own terms.… least she’s able to live on her own terms.
Jack, Ian and Grizzy make up the band Rowdy South. They’ve spent centuries in their human forms traveling the world and playing their soulful music. However, Jack is certain no one could ever love a monster like him.
In one night, the goddess and the monster ignite a passion that could burn forever… or take them both down in flames when they discover each other’s deception. As danger closes in around the band and Hades returns for unknown reasons, Jack realizes their love could be the stuff of legends… If only he can convince Persephone to trust again and leave the past behind her.

Book review of Ruined Goddess by Carly Falls
At first I wasn’t too sure if this would be the book for me; I am a HUGE Greek Myth fan but this story never jumped out & fascinated me as much as others did. However, I am a curious creature by nature, so when I saw that I could still request the ARC, I didn’t hesitate.
I was however unaware that this trilogy is a spin-off from the author’s More Than Men Trilogy where we first meet the heroine Persephone. For backstory and history, I recommend reading the More Than Men trilogy. It may even make the reading of this book more enjoyable as I sometimes felt I was missing something.
The book’s premise is intriguing as a Greek Myth fan; the characters are energetic and interesting, colorful and charismatic & let’s not forget the romance, it was passionate as a Reverse Harem romance tends to be.
Overall glad I gave it a try. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I loved everything about this book! The main character is intriguing, the world building amazing, and the writing completely flows. I found this to be an easy book to get through in a couple of days and it only left me wanting more by this author. I am so glad I was given a chance to read this.

Wow this book! I love a myth retelling even more for a spin and new addition to character pairings. She’s bold etc and the other characters give her epic support

A mythological tale following Persephone after being left to live a mundane life on Earth without her powers. After meeting a band at a bar she hooks up with Jack. The story that follows is full of intrigue, twists & turns, romance, action, etc.
This is book 1 of a trilogy so it does end with a cliffhanger that leaves you wanting more.

Amazing! I’ve been dying for a Persephone story and Carly delivers! This is well written and has amazing characters! I’m excited to see what Carly comes up with next!!!
Book one in The Persephone Trilogy series a well written story that kept me turning pages. What an cliff-hanger ending. I want to read the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is Persephone story but not Persephone and Hades love story that we usually read. This story follows up after Bond by Gods from the trilogy More than Men, where Hades stripped Persephone of her Godess powers after she tried and failed to kill Ana, Hades, Poseidon and Dionysus mate.
She meets Jack, Ian and Grizzy in a bar where the guys are playing. The men have secrets of their own and when Persephone finds out about it she pushes them away. Can she let herself be loved again without feeling trapped in a loveless relationship like she went through with Hades??
You don’t need to have read the More than Men trilogy to enjoy this book, but i suggest that you give it a try too, it’s a really good trilogy to have in your TBR.
Ruined Godess is a great start to this spin-off story if, like myself, you love everything you can grab that has Greek mythology in it.

Well worth reading!
This is a strong start to a new series and I am very excited to read how it continues. This is a unique Hades and Persephone (not love interests) story that brings along the element of why chose. This is a very entertaining with a few steamy moments that is a fun read.

Will Persephone get her happy ever after or be trapped once again? Now that Hades has stripped Persephone of her goddess status and most of her magic, she is living in Saints Grove, lonely and alone, but for the first time in her thousands and thousands of years of living, she is truly free. Not trapped, and can do whatever she wants. Her life is her own. But then she meets Jack who plays in a band in town, has sex with him, and then rejects him when Hades comes back in town and seems to be following her. Once again she feels trapped. Black roses appear on her doorstep. She though Hades had found his true love but why is he stalking her? What she doesn’t know is she has someone looking out for her and she has a deadly stalker. She apologizes to Jack and then finds out not only has she been hiding her true self, but Jack and his band have secrets also. Now does she push everyone away for finally trust that someone really loves her and doesn’t have a hidden agenda? Just when I though there would be a happy ending the book ended in a cliffhanger. This is a story of a rage-filled Persephone, former goddess and Queen of the underworld who is stripped of her powers and banished as punishment to Saint’s Grove, Virginia, by Hades to survive there on her own. At a bar, she takes notice of the band, not knowing the musicians are actually three satyrs who will make a dramatic difference in her life.
Persephone’s meeting Jack, Ian and Grizzy makes her happy. But when she discovers they are supernaturals, she feels they lied to her and wants nothing to do with them. Will she cut them out of her life? Or will their perseverance to win her and love her change her mind?
This was an interesting take on the Hades/Persephone love story, but it was clever and enjoyable. A guest appearance by Persephone’s ex makes a fun diversion. Grab your copy and see what you think of this re-telling.
This is definitely not your typical mythology tale. Poor Persephone unhappy with Hades unceremoniously kidnapping her has taken her revenge, which backfired… Hades retaliates by stripping her of her powers to live as a human. I enjoyed the interesting characters, but am not a fan of reverse harem novels and I’m afraid this hasn’t changed my mind although I have enjoyed the authors other non-reverse harem books.

Interesting twist on Greek mythology with a good plot and interaction between characters. I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily.
*Spoiler Alert*
Peony a.k.a Persephone (FMC) Goddess and Hades Ex-Wife popped up in the more than men trilogy but her character was not shown in good light there. The repercussions of which are how this series starts. Persephone is left alone in Saints Grove without her Goddess magic or any friends. I didnt like her character in the books before but i couldnt help but feel bad for her in this book and not want her to be alone. Which is good when she goes out to a club and meets Jack, Grizzy and Ian. From a music group playing there and they bring in some sexy, steamy scenarios. Loved the more than men trilogy and this series has started off really well and that ending though?? A great read and i enjoyed reading it
So Good!
“Ruined Goddess” is an original exciting mythological tale of Persephone dumped on Earth by Hades with no powers of her own and with rage and hate for Hades in her heart. Persephone meets three satyrs and the adventure begins. This original take on the mythological tales is entertaining, funny, dramatic, and intense. I loved this original retelling of the stories written of Persephone and Hades. This tale has a cliffhanger ending that was an unexpected surprise and I am excitedly anticipating the next book in this new series.

Persephone the goddess of agriculture and fertility has been stripped of her powers. No longer a goddess or the Queen of the underworld, destined to live life as a normal human woman.
Welcome to Saint’s Grove, Virginia. A town where the unusual is actually normal.
Peony (Persephone) has been going about her mundane life as a human after her punishment from Hades for hurting his mate. While out one night at one of the local bars she becomes interested in the band of hot men. Jack, Grizzy and Ian make up the band Rowdy South. These men are also more than they seem to be on the outside, just like her. Can a group of lonely people find a way to make each other a bit happier? Peony is more damaged on the inside than she lets anyone see, it will take some seriously patient men to break open her shell.
This is a trilogy so of course it does end in a cliffhanger but it is well worth the read.
Not your typical mythology story. I like the idea of Peony living a somewhat normal human life after being stripped of her powers of a goddess and trying to figure out how to deal with it all. Finally finding a way to be happy and making amends after everything she has had to deal with in her long life.

This is an intriguing take on the mythology of Persephone. I loved having Hades as a character and seeing his interaction with multiple characters at different points in the story. Seeing how their history shaped Persephone as a person and influenced her decisions made the story more compelling. Her past has certainly acted as a catalyst that changes how she views every interaction. The relationships here seemed organic and outside threats seem like they could provide real drama to the group.
At first I wasn’t too sure if this would be the book for me. I’m a Hades and Persephone shipper and I prefer the versions where their story is a lovestory. And that’s very clearly not the case in this book. But after reading the previous trilogy (which you don’t need to do to appreciate this book) I was really curious to read this story. So when I saw that I could still request the ARC, I didn’t hesitate.
And I don’t regret it at all! Because I think this is a tale that touches on some very important topics and I think there are a lot of girls out there who might want and need to hear this story. Because Persephone’s story is a story of a very powerful woman who has never been loved in the right way. Not by her mother, not by her father and not by her husband. Not only do we see Persephone trying to deal with all the scars and trauma connected to it, but we also see her growing into a woman who realizes that she deserves better.
That theme however never gets too heavy. Mostly because there are three nice and hot and friendly men who are totally willing to help Persephone in every way they can. I like how they are introduced slowly and how the relationship between Persephone and the guys develops slowly. I also really think that Jack’s perspective adds a lot to the story. Being in his head gives us a way of knowing how much he loves Persephone and how unlike all the other people who loved her he is.
In this book there is not much of a plot besides Persephone’s personal growth and the forming of the small harem, but I like it that way. There is clearly a plot brewing for the next two books, but right now Persephone wasn’t ready for that yet. The book was never boring or dreading. I never had the feeling that something was missing or that I needed more action. I actually liked it that the focus was on all the dealing with the past and with the possible future.
This first book was definitely a very strong start of this new trilogy. It can be read without knowing anything about the previous trilogy, but it’s also a very great continuation of what we’ve seen of Persephone in the previous book. I can’t wait to get my hands on the second book to find out what’s gonna happen next!
