more
I enjoy this series – a good, light read.
This book, and all the series of Second Chances books that I have read so far, have some unique heroines; they’re not just a “nobleman meets his match”. There are some serious problems to be overcome, but love does triumph, after all. I have liked her characters, and the plot twists.
I loved it I really did I am sad it’s over n read
I really enjoyed seeing the backstory of the main character, Charlotte. In the other book(s) she’s in, you see very little of her reasons for doing what she’s done.
I loved it…not just the usual romance.
I enjoyed this book by Bree Wolf. In fact, I’ve enjoyed this whole series. This one was a bit of a shock, but I won’t say more as it would be a spoiler.
This story is full of compassion, forgiveness and the building of trust and love between people. It is an amazing second chances story and is written in a way that yanked (yes, really yanked) at my heartstrings and every now and then I found myself crying and the next moment feeling totally elated or grinning. I love it when an author is able to make one ‘feel’ with just the use of a few well placed words and this is what Bree Wolf is able to do.
It is also a very powerful love story with a mystery that slowly unfolds. In it you will find a villain who really goes out of his way to harm those that he is in contact with and then there are the family members and friends who support the two very strong main characters throughout the book.
This is a brilliantly written story and one which I am very happy to recommend.
I received a free copy of this ebook and this is my voluntary and unbiased review.
WATCH YOUR BACK!!!
A well written read that captures your imagination and holds you prisoner till the end. You’ll fall in love with the majority of the characters and hate the rest. With an unconventional match and a horrible past the main characters strive to overcome it all. A beautifully detailed accounts of murder, deceit, sanity, loss, abuse and many more. With so many twists and turns that keep you engrossed and wondering whats else is just around the corner. Bree is an awesome writer with a generous talent for detail to bring her stories to life.
A tragic story, one the leaves one feeling sad and distressed for victims of violence and abuse everywhere. This is fiction and it’s gothic in nature, but unfortunately the circumstances and results also occur in our society today. As a facilitator of support groups, I have heard stories like these, and they certainly fuel the crime series we see on television. However, one facet was brought out very clearly, that Charlotte was a survivor and when faced with death, she made a choice to live. Charlotte had done things that she was ashamed of, however anyone who has been in her situation will know that she was not thinking clearly at the time. Furthermore, she didn’t have the support of family or anyone else to turn to. When she finds herself under the care of Lord Ashwood as companion to his younger sister, she feels safe in the role of a servant. However, her world is turn upside down once more when Sebastian Campbell comes to take refuge from his own family with Lord Ashwood. When he sees Charlotte, or Lotte as she calls herself, he sees her hurt and pain, but there is another level at which deep calls to deep, and he instinctively knows that she is the woman he wants in his life. The story builds slowly, but Charlotte is once more confronted with her past, at which point the story picks up quickly and becomes fast paced and suspenseful. When Charlotte finally learns that she has supporters who will protect her and keep her safe, she realises that there is more than one to extract justice, resulting in a very satisfactory ending to the book. The story is well written with a good flow of language and a well thought out plot. The book forms part of a series, but is nevertheless a standalone and is clean, however it would be to the reader’s advantage to read the series in order as characters in previous books appear in this one too. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
good read
great

great story with surprise ending. FRom rich to poor to everything ending. Love it.
A great Saturday rainy afternoon read. Very Hopeful
I have enjoyed this series. Different story line well written
Very well written! This book actually made me cry a few times, which I rarely do when reading a book.
I originally hated her in book
3 but she really does redeem herself in this one. In this one she is the more damaged one he has his issues but not like she does. Please make sure you read 3 first!!!
I enjoyed the romance without the graphic scenes. I like a twist in the plot.
Very serious subject matter
As intense as things got while reading this book, I’m happy I read it. The storyline may have included touchy subjects but at least there wasn’t any real detail, leaving it to continue in a clean way. So much went unpunished in those days which leads me to be thankful for the laws we rely upon now. Excellent, well written, great character development. Wishing I could read it over like it was the first time.
Terribly weak characters. The longer I read, the more I despised the two main characters. If it wasn’t for the 3rd lesser character, I would have quit before the end. Unrealistic ending after 90% of the book shows the character one way and then in the last few chapters, a 180 degree turnaround.
