I have loved returning to this family of siblings time and again as they found their happily-ever-afters while also fighting to stay alive through various threats.
I was already connected to Ruby Jane and York as they were the secondary love story in the fourth book, Wyatt. After knowing how they felt for each other, it was hard to witness York’s loss of memory at the beginning of Ruby Jane. It was very powerful to see how things played out between the two of them. I loved it!
Something else I loved with these books was the way the siblings grew close again throughout the series after having drifted apart over the years. Bonds were rebuilt and in a way that seemed stronger than ever by the end of this book. I would love to read more about the Marshall siblings somewhere down the road and make sure all remained well for them, as well as be able to discover how a few things played out from a couple of the storylines.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
Ruby Jane Marshall is the 5 and final book in The Montana Marshall series and I highly recommend it. Beautiful story with characters that make you cheer for them.
Ruby Jane Marshall the only sister among the 6 siblings and they have always tried to protect her from harm and she is always trying to prove that she is just as capable as her siblings and she does not need to be protected & rescued all the time.
But as an analyst for the CIA she has uncovered a plot to kill a high ranking Russian official. As she analyzed the information she was getting she also realized that she had been framed for the plot and decided the only way to clear her name was to go to Russia and expose those whom were actually responsible for the plot.
York Newgate had lived in Russia for many years and even decided to stay after his job with the CIA was finished. He had lived through a lot of loss and decided he would just concentrate on work and leave romance on the side, he could not lose anyone else.
Until he met RJ in Russia. She had come to clear her name and find out who was behind the plot. While she was there York had been made aware that she was there and why. He took it upon himself to look out for her and jump in if needed, and it just so happened that he was friends with Coco her foster sister, her Navy Seal brother Ford had also been aware of what she was up to and he and his Navy girlfriend Scarlett had come to Russia to help her.
As the pieces were put together they realized that they needed to get back to the states but both RJ and York were wanted for a number of things so they had to be careful getting back. In a very short period of time RJ & York were falling in love. Would they be able to clear her name and uncover the truth?
Once back in the US the pieces of this plot keep getting more complicated as they go. Will they be able to find the truth? Find happiness together with the Lord at the center of their life?
I am honored to have been able to be part of the early readers. Mrs. Warren is a wonderful writer whom keeps you coming back for more. She continues to bless us all with her God given talent.
Susan May Warren has knocked it out of the park with this series! Each book has been incredible, and Ruby Jane was no exception. The plot is so intricately woven together as each book builds on the last, and the expertly written suspense grabs your attention from the first page. Even more amazing is the fact that Susie May released all five books this year!
The beginning of this book started off with a surprising twist, and it didn’t slow down from there. The action ramps up as the presidential election gets closer, and it becomes even more urgent that the Marshalls find whoever is behind the international conspiracy that has entangled their family at so many levels. The ending is satisfying and a perfect conclusion for the series, although there are still a few unanswered questions – but based on the preview of the first book in Susie May’s new series, coming out in January, I think those questions will be answered sooner or later!
As always, the character development in this book was top-notch. I think the faith themes were more overt here than in the other books in the series, as York struggled with his identity and his past. I don’t want to give anything away, but his transformation was one of the most powerful parts of the series! RJ’s story was really compelling too, as she grows into the seeker of truth and justice God made her to be. She is determined, loyal to the people she loves, and braver than she realized.
If you are a fan of family series, romantic suspense, or just a fan of anything Susan May Warren writes (like me!), you definitely won’t want to miss The Montana Marshalls.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
This is the last book in the Marshall series and it still packed an emotional wallop. The emotions expressed was intense. Ms. Warren pulls you in so that you are invested in the outcome of these characters. You want to skip to the last chapter but know you will miss clues from previous chapters. Ruby Jane is tenacious and that is who York needs in his life. I love that she fought for the love of her life. They was God was represented here made you want to know about Him. He was a big part of York’s transformation. I love York struggle to accept who he was in God’s eyes. I enjoyed this book with all the Marshalls and their significant others.
I received this book from the publisher and the opinions expressed are entirely my own.
Ruby Jane is the last book in the Marshall Family Series. I have been anxiously awaiting its release, quite honestly since the first book in the series, Knox, released. With her predominately male family, I always wanted to know more about her character and how her story would play out. This series has been one of the best suspense series I have read! I have loved it and hated for it to end. However, I suspect this will not be the last time we hear from these characters (hopefully we will get updates in future books). This book picks up pretty much where Wyatt left off. However, York is missing and Ruby Jane is determined that he is alive and well. As RJ searches for York, she also searches for more details in the crimes that have been committed. Mack Jones doesn’t remember his past, but he has these defense skills and a sense that he should hide his identity. As he comes to grips with his life and what he doesn’t know, several things become clear to him about his previous life. This story examines God’s ability to take all things old and make them new no matter the stains left behind previously. This stunning conclusion to this series will keep you up all night! You will be guessing at who is behind everything that is occurring. I highly recommend this book and series! It is fantastic and you will not be disappointed!!!
“Ruby Jane” is Susan May Warren’s 5th and final story in the “Montana Marshalls” series. The storyline involves the characters from the previous Books, and are concluded in this Story! This Masterfully Written, Novel is like binge reading episodes of “Alias” (ABC’s former TV series about Sydney Bristow).
This is RJ (Ruby Jane) and York’s story, wrapped in a Christian, Action/Adventure Thriller. You get amnesia, fire rescue, Salvation’s new man, life threatening Danger, Russian Mafia, the CIA, over protective brothers, police, political corruption, Forever Love, and family marriages. I Highly Recommend you to get lost in this Wonderful, Exciting, and Engrossing Story, and the whole “Montana Marshalls” series!
Life can throw you many things and you might not feel you are worth the love others show you, but you are. Sometimes, events happen out of your control and yet you feel you’re to blame. In this story, York is having a real tough time understanding this. All he sees is his flaws and not his worth. RJ is also dealing with this. She feels like it’s all her fault that things are going bad everywhere around her. She’s doing the “what ifs” and can’t see her worth. I love how the author Susan May Warren brings into the story how we can all find our true worth in God. How healing can be done, and joy restored to our life when all else appears lost.
I really love this Marshall family. They are a big family, and it might seem like they’re in each other’s business, yet they really do love and support each other. I am totally enjoying getting to know this whole family and all the connections they have. I wish I could meet this very larger than life family from Montana. I think I’d love to have them as friends.
This is the last book in the series, and it holds all of us on pins and needles. What is going to happen with the Marshall family? Will they all come together and clear things up? Will RJ and York find the answers they’re looking for?
In this book and series, there is non-stop action, romance, drama, running for their lives, kidnapping attempts, shootings, pain, Oh, the pains! I feel so sorry for these characters and what the author puts them through. She does it all in a way that will keep you stuck to your chair, not wanting to put the book down!
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, I’m at a loss to have words eloquent enough to convey the depth of emotions and feelings I get each time I pick up one of Susan May Warrens’ books.
Whatever Ms. Warren writes I’ll read because I know I’ll be captivated and blessed in a way that is life-changing.
I was given this book by the publisher which did not influence my review in any way, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
4.5 STARS!!!
“The fire is supposed to burn away everything but our faith and character.”
Every now and then I read a book that when I close the last page, I just sit there. In silence. Contemplating. Ruby Jane was that kind of book for me. A smashing conclusion to the Montana Marshalls series, Warren brings it on with plenty of action, intrigue, romance, and a theme of regeneration that had me in tears. Her ability to show how a person who is utterly tarnished by their actions, words, and thoughts, and yet through the power of the Holy Spirit can be reconciled to God left me praising Him for his mercy and grace toward me!
“You have to believe that no matter what happens, you’re going to be okay. That God’s grace is enough.”
Without any doubt, SMW is the best builder of a fictional family I have read. Each and every character is pivotal to the storyline and I didn’t want to miss a single moment with any of them. I didn’t connect with Ruby Jane in the way I expected but I think it’s because I was acutely focused on York. He is an amazing character and completely stole my heart.
The Montana Marshalls must be read in order to get the full effect and enjoyment. Literally each book picks up where the other leaves off. It’s an excellent binge read!!
I received an early copy from the author. My opinion is my own. No compensation has been received.
Ruby Jane is the fifth and final installment in the family saga of the Montana Marshall’s. In true Susan May Warren fashion, the plot is a high octane chase with plenty of sparks and romance to satisfy any true romantic suspense fan. I have read all of the Montana Marshall brothers’ stories, and I couldn’t wait to read this one. Warren does a fabulous job at crafting a story with familiar characters and tying up loose ends from the overall story. In Ruby Jane, Warren actually shows how all five stories are intertwined to make one big climatic moment. I really enjoyed spending time with these five characters and can’t wait to read the next series from Susan May Warren. I loved this series and can’t wait to own all five of them in paperback too, so I can add it to my Warren shelf on my bookshelf.
I received a complimentary copy of Ruby Jane by Susan May Warren from SMW Publishing, but the opinions stated are all my own.
I totally loved this book (and this series)!
I loved that:
It was fast paced throughout, always moving. The story line was unique and unlike anything in the series.
There were balanced parts suspense, romance, action and faith. It was deep and rich, and thought provoking.
All the Marshall family members were involved. I love them all and couldn’t begin to pick a favorite. They all have their talents and flaws but are inspiring to say the least.
The family bond was key to the story along with their faith. They all sought to live out their faith and protect their family.
The back and forth faith tug for York was written so well. The spiritual lessons here and elsewhere in this book show the power of the scripture. Susan May Warren never misses a chance to teach a spiritual lesson. She always reaches my heart with her writing. I believe it is truly spirit-gifted to her.
Most of the story lines from the series were resolved. And the ones that weren’t give me hope that I’ll get to read about them in future books.
This was the perfect conclusion to the Montana Marshalls series. I am anxiously awaiting her new series, Global Search and Rescue. The first of the series to be out in January, 2020.
I totally had a book hangover at the end and am still thinking about it. It’s going to be very hard to choose a next book to read. I really can’t express how much I loved this book and this author. I highly recommend anything she writes without reservation.
I received an advance reader copy of Ruby Jane in exchange for my honest review. This review represents my true personal opinion.
Ruby Jane opens with a car crash in which ex-CIA Agent York Newgate is killed . . . or is he? CIA analyst RJ doesn’t believe he is dead, despite the evidence. York rescued her from a tricky situation in Russia, and they fell in love while trying to escape a Russian assassin. RJ is tracking down clues on why her boss was murdered and find out the truth about York. Can she untangle the threads that created this situation without further harm to her family? Can she find out the truth about York?
Warren’s novels are filled with action-adventure, family drama, and faith elements. Themes of redemption, grace, and truth permeate this novel. Her characters include often broken individuals who face emotional and spiritual challenges.
Wowza! If you thought the Marshall boys were impressive wait until you meet their sassy baby sister. With each turn of the page you are pulled farther into their lives and your heart goes out to each and every one of them.
RJ is a character that you can really relate to. Growing up with all brothers she wants to prove herself no matter what. York is running from a dark past and feels no one could ever love him after everything he’s done. As you follow their adventure you find yourself cheering them on and when that last page finally comes you certainly aren’t ready to let go.
Have you ever felt that you couldn’t read fast enough? In Ruby Jane, there are so many places where the action and suspense made me want to read faster and faster to find out what happens next! This book has spies, conspiracy theories, foreign assassins, amensia, romance – classic suspense – along with plenty of action! This all starts in the 1st chapter, so get ready for a wild ride as Ruby Jane tries to discover answers without getting herself or someone else killed.
*My thanks to the author and publisher for a preview copy of this book. The opinions expressed in this review are completely and entirely my own.
‘We are Marshalls. And we are not alone.’
Sometimes you finish a book and you can only sit there and think about that book and just are unable to pick up another for a while because this one was so incredibly captivating. This is what Susan May Warren’s books do to me.
Susan May Warren gives us, triumphantly, the highly anticipated and equally exciting finale to her Montana Marshalls series. And boy, does she ever give us a stunning ride! Ruby Jane does not disappoint.
‘When all else is done, God is enough, everything and always.’
This one picks up where Wyatt left off and takes off with a bang and does not let up one bit! I was gasping, shaking, crying, smiling and giving thanks to God all the way through this book. This book way more than met my expectations. I thought after Wyatt, she just couldn’t top that book, but my goodness! I was completely captivated the entire way. Warren has a distinctive ability to create a family dynamic that just totally works. She crafts her characters in such a way that they actually seem real and larger than life. I feel like I’m in every scene, pulling for them, crying with them and hurting when they hurt. I had to watch myself about to pray for them! All her family based books are so intense and fulfilling to read.
One thing that I love so much about Susan May Warren’s work is her power-packed spiritual themes. I just feel that they are Spirit led and are so soul nourishing. It’s not just reading a book and being entertained, but a truly spiritual experience, one that stays with you–moving you with a life lesson and a true blessing. At least, for me.
‘When we cling to Jesus, we are changed. Reborn. We become who we were meant to be because there is nothing of ourselves left.’
This series is going on my Top Ten List for 2019. It is the absolute best series I’ve ever read and one that, as soon as I finished Ruby Jane, I wanted to pick up Knox and start reading all over again. Truly, this series has moved me beyond my ability to convey here. I very highly recommend these books and this author.
*My thanks to the author and publisher for a preview copy of this book. The opinions expressed in this review are completely and entirely my own.
I don’t have the words to do this book justice. It is full of edge of your seat action, excitement and drama. It is also a beautiful love story, not only between York and Ruby Jane, but between York and God. This book will touch your heart and soul. This is one book you don’t want to miss. It stays with you long after you read the last page.
Saving the best for last, Susan May Warren delivers dramatic page-turning intensity into the finale of the Montana Marshall family series. Not only is the dangerous web encircling Ruby Jane and Mack, aka York, but all family members are involved and at risk. Like previous threat to this family have discovered, you don’t mess with the Marshalls and remain unscathed. Yet the cost to the family may be high indeed.
Susan May Warren raises the standard, which is a high bar indeed, in her witty, personable and poignant style. I’m sad to see the end of the series and hope for glimpses in the future, perhaps with the upcoming Global Search and Rescue novels previewed at the end of this book.
I received a complimentary copy of the book without obligation. This review is my opinion.
I loved this book, and I loved the characters. The romance between Ruby Jane and York is perhaps the literature romance of the century. As with the first four books, there’s lots of action, which keeps you glued to the pages. But, the best part of this book was York’s struggle to be a better man. Did I say I loved his character? In typical Susan May Warren fashion, you will find romance, suspense, action, and a faith-based story that is stellar. It’s a fantastic conclusion to the Montana Marshalls series. It’s so much more than five-stars. I received an ARC, but I’m buying this baby to add to my collection.
With the perfect blend of romance and fast-paced adrenaline-filled action, award winning author Susan May Warren’s highly anticipated conclusion to her popular Montana Marshalls series will leave readers treasuring the story long after the final page. Ruby Jane is an extraordinary tale of faith, forgiveness and grace, strong family bonds, and finding true love when you least expect it.
In the stunning conclusion to the Montana Marshalls series, former CIA Analyst Ruby Jane (RJ) Marshall is determined to find answers when the love of her life, York Newgate, is presumed dead in a car crash. A heroic mystery man appears on the national news, bearing a striking resemblance to someone from RJ’s past, while continued threats and violence target the Marshall siblings and those closest to them.
Since all five novels in the Montana Marshalls series have an overall story arc with multiple ongoing plot lines, it is highly recommended that the series be read in order. Now that the entire series has been released, readers new to the Montana Marshalls series can happily binge-read Knox, Tate, Ford, Wyatt, and Ruby Jane.
What I love best about this fantastic series is how each of the Marshall siblings continue to play integral roles in subsequent installments of the series. Tate has always been my favorite Marshall brother, and the cover for his story is my favorite in the series. The Marshall brothers (Reuben, Knox, Tate, Ford, and Wyatt) each have their own unique personalities that readers will fall in love with, but they all have a protective side to them, especially toward their family and the women they love. Readers will have fun trying to pick a favorite Marshall brother or just loving them all equally instead! You can’t go wrong with any of these brothers…. or York! Readers can find the oldest brother Reuben’s story in Burnin’ For You from Susan May Warren’s Montana Fire series.
Susan May Warren is a master at writing incredible family-centered series that draw readers closer to their faith. She beautifully weaves the spiritual elements into the storyline as she shares the powerful message that God is enough and that we are loved.
Ruby Jane is highly recommended for readers who enjoy action-packed contemporary romance. It is bittersweet to say goodbye to this incredible series and cast of characters, but I will treasure the opportunity to revisit old friends in the future as Ruby Jane will enjoy a permanent spot on my keeper shelf with her brothers. Since Susan May Warren often incorporates characters from previous series into her newer series, I am hopeful that we will see more of the Montana Marshalls in the future.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author/publisher and was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine.
