Meet Royce: a brand new contemporary sports romance standalone in the Sidewinders series from USA Today Bestselling Author Kat Mizera.Love gets messy when Royce finally meets his match…Professional hockey player Royce Lenahan grew up surrounded by chaos, so as an adult he likes things nice and orderly: His apartment, his hockey schedule, even his dates. Force of nature Kristina Papadakis feels like two separate people sometimes: The demure, proper Greek girl she was raised to be, and the badass rock musician she could be. She’s never had a problem keeping her worlds apart until her brother’s straight-laced but oh-so-hot teammate stumbles into both of them, creating a collision she wasn’t expecting.
As Royce and Tina explore an unexpected but undeniable passion, they soon discover that love isn’t always enough. Opposites might attract, but they’ll have to learn to compromise if they want to last.

4.5 out of 5 hot ice stars – Don’t be intimidated by “Book 10”. You can jump in here but you will most likely want to go and read about the other hot members of the Las Vegas Sidewinders. Royce is the “quiet one”. Friends on the surface but intense/driven underneath. His friend and team mate Dimitri needs someone to go with his little(?) sister to a concert while they are in New York City. Little did Royce know that Dimitri’s little sister is not so little any more. Tina is an adult and she has hopes and dreams, goals that she has not shared with others. She does not need to be babysat by one of her brother’s team mates. When the two meet up for the concert, the night takes an interesting turn and the temperature begins to sizzle between the two of them. I am currently cheering on team Royce.

Royce likes things just so and on time and likes being completely in control of things. Tina is a free spirit who on the surface seems to be a bit chaotic. When Royce’s best friend asks home to take his sister Tina to a concert in Vegas the 2 strike up an unlikely friendship seeing things in each other that others have missed.
Tina isn’t jumping from job to job as her brother thinks but saving to open her own travel agency.
Royce’s OCD becomes more apparent and could ruin everything unless he admits that it is an issue.
An unlikely pairing that could be amazing or a total disaster.
Loved this story as it shows that things aren’t always as they seem
Loved this story. A hockey romance that will draw you in from the first chapter. Royce and Tina’s story had me intrigued with their story and I could not stop reading, needing to know what happens to them. Royce has severe OCD, among other issues, and Tina is much more carefree with everything she does. Problems arise between them when they get together even though the heat is off the charts. Will they be able to fix themselves in order to be with each? It is a must read for anyone who loves sports romances and overcoming issues to obtain what you ultimately deserve.
A great friends to lovers, opposites attract hockey romance. Royce is the 10th book in the Sidewinders series by Kat Mizera. It can be read as a standalone, but as someone who has read every book in the series, I do recommend you read the rest. Royce just like every book in the series is captivating, intense, and sensual!
Royce is the quiet one, the hockey player that keeps to himself. He is intense and OCD about almost every aspect of his life, doing everything he can to make sure he has a different life than the one he had growing up. Dating has always been a hardship for him, and catching feelings for his best friend’s little sister was NEVER part of the plan. Especially when she reminds him so much of the past he is running from— chaotic, spontaneous, and unstructured.
Is she enough to make him change?
Kristina (Tina) is a travel agent, musician, and waitress. She dabbles in a little bit of everything. To others she might seem flighty, but Tina has a goal and she is determined to make her dreams come true. She is eccentric, artistic, and keeps parts of her life hidden from her family for fear of being judged. She never imagined falling in love with a hockey player who is the complete and total opposite of her. Being in a relationship is hard, but trying to be with Royce is even harder. She isn’t willing to change for anyone, she wants to be loved for who she is and is afraid Royce never would.
This book was wonderful! I loved reading Tina and Royce’s story. They grew together and learned to live with each others personalities. This story is about two completely different people trying to find a happy medium. Falling in love was the easy part, trying to make the relationship work was the hard part. I loved their journey and loved catching up with the Sidewinders crew. Can’t wait until the next book!
5 star read!
Fantastic Book!
I love Hockey romance and Kat writers fantastic ones! I love the Sidewinders!
Royce was amazing! Tina was Royce’s best friends sister. Royce is a little uptight liking to have everything controlled and organized. Tina is laid back and artistic. Everyone thinks she is flighty but she’s actually working to open her own travel agency. Tina can’t be more perfect for Royce. Maybe she’ll loosen him up a little bit!
This story is an emotional roller coaster ride! Will Royce loosen up and stop trying to be in control of everything and give Tina a chance?
Royce was a wonderful story! It was great getting to see some of my favorite characters from previous Sidewinders stories! Kat has written another fantastic book in the Sidewinders series! Now we wait for the next book!
Royce is antisocial, stubborn and the most OCD guy ever and he has no idea how much until he meets Trina, his team mate Dmitri’s younger sister. They say opposites attract but boy are these 2 total opposites Trina is free spirit which I love, she likes to do different things and also juggles many talents and is a bit messy which leads to plenty of frustration over Dmitri’s expected way of life as well as sadness in the way he views himself and how he grew up. There is plenty of attraction between the 2 but rash decisions, lack of communication and frustration that leaves you wanting to smack Dmitri upside of the head makes you nervous if they will end up together…. Now bring on the next book as I want more!!
I really enjoyed Royce & Tina’s story. Thank you for writing realistic issues for characters to struggle through and work through to gain their HEA. I also love having the rest of the Sidewinders making appearances & getting updates on their lives.
Engaging and relatable characters
Book 10 in the series, I hadn’t read this author before recently reading Dmitri’s Christmas Angel in the Hockey Holidays anthology. It was a great story and I immediately added the Las Vegas Sidewinders to my TBR, so I was happy to see this new book coming out. While reading that story did help prove some background here, I feel this book works well read as a standalone as I certainly didn’t feel I was missing out on anything by not reading the earlier books in the series first.
An opposites attract—with just a touch of best friend’s sister—story, I loved the reality of the issues facing two very different people considering the possibility of merging their lives, even for a temporary period. Both Royce and Tina were likable and engaging, and I was cheering for them both. The author did a good job setting up the whys behind Royce’s issues so I still felt for him even when he was unbending and a bit of an a-hole. I loved how independent and determined Tina was; while her family viewed her as flaky, she had a very clear plan and was talented and successful in her own right.
One of the strengths of this author is her characters; not only does she do a great job creating her main characters, but her secondary characters as well (I really loved Casey here, to name just one). Coming in mid series as I did, it’s easy to get overwhelmed with all the characters that have appeared in the earlier books, but that never happens here, as the author just drops the information in subtly and as you need it without interrupting the story. In fact, I thought the writing was simply excellent, with great pacing and even flow that made it easy to get pulled into the story.
With engaging and relatable characters, this was a read I didn’t want to put down, and just reaffirmed my need to go back and read the earlier books in the series. 5+ stars

This is another great book in the Las Vegas Sidewinders series. Royce and Tina are complete opposites. Royce loves everything organized and complete control of his life. Tina has an artistic heart and loves to let go and enjoy life. You would’ve think these two would work, but they do. I fell in love with these two instantly. They helped balanced each other out. I did feel for both of them. Royce had a hard time letting go though he really needed to (I loved the conversation his dad had with him) and Tina had a hard time always sticking to Royce’s orderly needs. It broke my heart when they couldn’t keep their relationship going, though I think the time helped. As usual the secondary characters were wonderful and really added dimension to the story. I love that this team tries to help each other out when they can. I loved meeting Casey. She was a great friend and so down to earth. Great story! Looking forward to more (especially Zaan’s story cause he sounds interesting).
Welcome back to the world of the Las Vegas Sidewinders. This is the story of Royce (whom I absolutely adored) and Tina. I loved them so much. Tina, the free spirit working to make her dreams come true and Royce the teammate of her brother. What could possibly go wrong there? Their romance is a quick one and hearts are shattered and lives are changed. Do they have what it takes to piece the broken hearts and make their happily ever after? This was a wonderful story and it was great to see some of my favorite Sidewinders pop up in Royce and Tina’s story.
The ride of this story will have you laughing and crying! Ashley @ Carolina Chic’s Read
Royce is a lovable man who has taken what his past was and made himself OCD which has given him a need for control.
Tina is the sister of Royce’s teammate who thrives on chaos. Royce is only supposed to take her to a concert. When going to the concert turns into a saving the arts children from harm things start to happen that these two don’t know what to make of with having an overprotective brother and his best friend!
This is an emotional roller coaster of a story. I wanted to reach through the book and hug Royce and tears flowed for him and his broken pieces. Will Royce find a way to heal and will Tina be the one to make him see that there is more to life than order and control?
I really enjoyed this story and I always get so happy when I see another book come out. I liked how they met, how she totally brushed him off and he didn’t know what to do with himself. Great storytelling and you really get immersed in their world.
I love Royce so Much! Elizabeth @ Carolina Chic’s Read
Royce and Tina…. well what do I say… I love Royce’s character so much. There were times that I wanted to cry for him. He is carrying around some deep emotional damage from his upbringing that definitely overshadows his relationship with Tina. When these two are on the course for being in love.. hearts get broken and lives are changed. This is my two favorite Sidewinders book.
This is book #10, in the Las Vegas Sidewinders series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. To avoid spoilers, and to enjoy and understand the series, I recommend reading this series in order.
Royce is a professional hockey player who likes things to be just so. What he never sees coming is the little sister of his best friend. She is all woman and he has no problem taking notice.
Kristina is a proper Greek girl, at least some of the time. Other times, she is a real rock guru and future star. She notices Royce after an incident that they both barely make it through. She also notes how much more of a gentleman, and what a caring individual he can be.
This was such an amazing book. I loved getting to know these characters. No one expects either of them to come out of their comfort zones – so it was awesome to read about! There are some familiar characters you will see in this story as well. Never disappointed with this great series.
***This early copy was given in exchange for an honest review.
When asked by his best friend and teammate to accompany his sister to a concert, Royce had no idea that his life was about to change. But, one night with Tina was enough to have him shaking up his well ordered life and routine just for the chance to spend time with her.
Tina knows what she wants out of life and works hard to get it. But she’s also a free spirit who follows her passions. When the chance of a lifetime comes her way to explore her music and be closer to Royce, Tina jumps at the chance. But, as their passions burn hot, their opposite personalities of ordered and go with the flow may be too much of a compromise for them both to make in order to be together.
Kat Mizera’s Royce was a fabulous opposites attract romance. What I loved best, however, was that this wasn’t a quick and easy happy ever after . . . sometimes people can be too opposite and unwilling to compromise to make it work without someone losing a piece of their soul.
I absolutely adored Tina’s character. Her free spirit helps her achieve her goals while exploring her passions and creativity. Her character had so much depth and so many layers that she jumped off the pages because she was so full of life and love. I also found it beautiful how she tried to rein in her personality a bit for Royce without truly giving it up.
Royce’s character was a bit harder for me to love. I totally understood why he was the way he was, but, I hated that he was so unable to compromise and so very set in his ways which caused him to sacrifice on so many relationships, including Tina, his teammates and his family.
There were a few spots in this book that seemed a bit slow for me . . .probably because I wanted someone to give Royce a good kick in his pants. Overall, however, I really enjoyed the romance as well as the side stories between Tina and rockstar Kasey Hart as well as with Royce and his teammates. Kat Mizera is always a master at incorporating and cultivating relationships with her side characters and those played out beautifully in this book . . .especially Royce and his parents.
Easily read as a stand alone, Royce was a fantastic addition to the Sidewinders series. 4 stars.
Kat Mizera has again brought us another fantastic, hot hockey romance with Royce and the Las Vegas Sidewinders! I have been a fan of this series for a long time and this story has moved up to my favorite!
When they say opposites attract they weren’t kidding when it came to Royce and Tina. He is a bit uptight and needs to have control over his everything in his life. She is a free spirit who is laid back and carefree. Their chemistry, however is off the charts. So, now Royce and Tina need to find a way to compromise to bring out the best in each other in order to blend their personalities and their lives.
This book is worth your time and I know you will fall in love with Royce and Tina as much as I have.
Kat Mizera lights the lamp with ROYCE, the tenth book in the Las Vegas Sidewinders series. Hockey star Royce Lenahan’s best friend and teammate, Dmitri Papadakis, asked him to take his little sister, Kristina, to a rock concert. She’s not the quiet girl with glasses that he remembered. She is free-spirited, the opposite of his programmed lifestyle.
I like Tina and Royce. They have different personalities. She is artistic, free-spirited, and spontaneous. Royce is a great athlete, organized, and scheduled. They are both hard working. Royce is a bit uptight and Tina is the perfect person to loosen him up.
I enjoyed the plot. The couple had many interesting obstacles to overcome. There were significant life lessons. I appreciated the similarities between Tina and Royce’s mom. I like Casey Hart and Jayson Keller. I enjoyed what they added to the story. I thought it was clever how Royce and Tina met them.
ROYCE was skillfully written and entertaining. It is a perfect addition to the Las Vegas Sidewinders series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Sexy, heartfelt romance!
Royce is doing his best friend a favor by taking Tina to a concert, which sets off a chain reaction of events that make it impossible for Royce to ignore his undeniable attraction to her. As these two maneuver the usual obstacles of their separate careers and family, a deeper problem surfaces that might not be so easy to overcome.
This romance is more about how they learn to make things work than it is about how they come together. The devil is in the details, they say, and that’s true for Royce and Tina. I loved how Tina stood up for herself, even at such a great cost, and it was so heartwarming to see Royce awaken to the realization of what he needed to do next. Theirs is a love of a lifetime, and the HEA was as beautiful as could be. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Royce is book 10 in the Sidewinders series by Kat Mizera. Royce is uptight and has to have order in his life, whether it be part of his career or personal life. When Royce is asked to take his best friends sister to a concert he does. When he goes to pick up Tina he is beyond surprised who she is and how she looks. He was expecting a girl with glasses and he sees a drop dead gorgeous woman.
When Tina gets in the car she sees her brothers good looking friend. These two start off with a friendship which quickly escalates to a relationship, thing is Tina and Royce are polar opposites. Can they over look this and have a successful relationship?
I truly love Kat Mizera and her books, I have read the other books in the Sidewinders series which most can be read as a standalone. Kat knows how to grab her readers attention, the description she uses makes you feel like you are there in the story. The sidewinders series is a series would recommend to anyone who has not read any of Kat’s books.
