“Passion, pleasure, and princely responsibilities make this sexy fairy tale a real page turner.” —Audrey Carlan, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Calendar GirlNicholas Arthur Frederick Edward Pembrook, Crowned Prince of Wessco, aka “His Royal Hotness,” is wickedly charming, devastatingly handsome, and unabashedly arrogant―hard not to be when people are constantly bowing down to you. Then, … constantly bowing down to you.
Then, one snowy night in Manhattan, the prince meets a dark haired beauty who doesn’t bow down. Instead, she throws a pie in his face.
Nicholas wants to find out if she tastes as good as her pie, and this heir apparent is used to getting what he wants.
Dating a prince isn’t what waitress Olivia Hammond ever imagined it would be.There’s a disapproving queen, a wildly inappropriate spare heir, relentless paparazzi, and brutal public scrutiny. While they’ve traded in horse drawn carriages for Rolls Royces and haven’t chopped anyone’s head off lately―the royals are far from accepting of this commoner.
But to Olivia―Nicholas is worth it.
Nicholas grew up with the whole world watching, and now Marriage Watch is in full force. In the end, Nicholas has to decide who he is and, more importantly, who he wants to be: a King… or the man who gets to love Olivia forever.

I really enjoyed this for the second time and listened to it on audiobook. Reads like a movie, has an awesome learning arc for our main man, and geez the emotional longing. Oof. All the feels.
Pick it up if you like spoiled royals, forbidden love, playboys turned devoted, and sassy but rational heroines.
I ADORED Royally Screwed by Emma Chase. I’m absolutely a mood reader, and I’ve been craving a royal romance, and Royally Screwed did it for me 100%
Somehow this was my first Emma Chase read, and ladies and gentleman it will not be my last. I loved the fairytale feel with the real life application. Add in the chemistry and emotion in a royal world, and I just devoured this book!
If you enjoy royal romances and to die for heroes, read Royally Screwed today!
I found the story to be full of the f..k word which in turn became very boring.
A different sort of story. Enjoyed it!
Innovative, fun story line with great chemistry and unexpected twists I did not see coming. Look forward to reading more from this author.
One of my new favorite authors. Really enjoyed this one.
This story had me swooning so hard that I thought there might be a problem. Seriously, there was almost too much to love about this book!!
Nicholas was the crowned prince, next in line to rule the made up country of Wessco. Olivia was a broke, barely holding it together waitress in her family’s failing coffee shop. There should have been no reason for these two to meet, however, one stormy winter’s night… You already know how that goes.
So they meet and it’s instant sparks.
It’s lust at first sight. And yet, within moments, they both know that what they could share, what they would share, was far more than a physical connection. He’s showing her everything a man should be, introducing her to a world that would have forever remained unknown to her, while she’s given him something no one else ever has — the freedom to be himself.
Going in, we already know the conflict Nicholas and Olivia will face. He’s destined to be king, she’s a commoner, and never the two shall meet. They can’t have forever. They can’t last. Or can they? I loved that although they both felt their time together was finite, the author had them throwing themselves all in to make the most of the experience. It was passionate and sexy. It was hilarious and tender. It was beautiful and bittersweet.
It has been far too long since I’ve read from Emma Chase, but this story has reaffirmed my faith in her stories and I will definitely be coming back for more. I spied a little something being teased for Nicholas’s brother, Henry, and a bookishly awkward Lady that had me eager to find out if they would be getting their own tale. And they are! I’m off to get my hands on Royally Matched and I’m hoping to see Nicholas and Olivia again!
I listened to the audio version of this book. The narrations by Andi Arndt and Shane East were excellent.
I usually don’t like books where one of the main characters is a prince or princess, but this book was really good. Nicholas was torn between his duty and responsibilities to his country, but his feelings for Olivia were honest and real. His emotional struggle was so realistic.
Olivia was just your average working gal. But–she fell in love with a prince. I loved that she knew the relationship could only be short term and had a definite end to it, but she was willing to take all she could get from Nicholas and enjoy every minute of it. I loved even more that she called him on his $hit.
This was a great audio book and I’m going back to look for the others in the series.
3.5 stars
I needed a light, feel-good story and this totally delivered. I don’t read many romances involving royalty so this was a nice change of pace. The world, while lacking true depth, was well-built. The tone, the interactions, the situations, they all worked for me.
I also liked the relationships between the characters. Nicholas and Henry have a gravity to their relationship that I wasn’t expecting and enjoyed discovering. I adore Olivia, Ellie, and Franny! They’re all fantastic in their own ways. There were tender moments, uplifting moments, steamy moments, and heart-wrenching moments. The doses of reality were greatly appreciated.
My only complaint is I wish we could have seen more of Marty. I have a feeling he’s delightful.
I’d be curious enough to read the rest of the series when I’m in need of another light snack!
I’ve been wanting to read Royally Screwed for a while and I’m so glad I finally got around to reading it. It was everything and more! From the chemistry between the main characters to the their friendships with the secondary characters, this book had me hooked from beginning to end. The ending had an unexpected twist and I cannot wait to read the next book the series next! Highly recommend checking it out. 😀
Emma Chase is one of my favorite author’s! She did such a great job on Royally Screwed! I picked it up & couldn’t put it down. Her characters just suck you right in. I rated this baby a 5 if I could have rated higher I definitely would! Thank you so much for writing us great books to read Emma!!!
Fabulous romantic story. Sizzling too. With a little tear jolt. Great ending.
contemporary, erotic, nyc, read, romance, steamy
Ok so this turned out WAY better than what It started. Took me a bit to get into it, cause it was just a lot going on in the beginning. But once I got a couple of chapters in, pretty much to Olivia’s first part into the story, I was hooked!! I read really late into the night cause I couldn’t put it down.
I loved the story of Olivia and Nicholas. How they met, how they overcame all the issues, and problems that came up.
Henry brought so much to the story too! Along with Simon and Franny. I loved them all. Ellie, oh I love her so much!!
I really did enjoy this story so much, and everything it had to offer. From a prince to a girl that owns a shop that makes pies, that she doesn’t like.
From scandalous stories, the press conference. I LOVED IT ALL AND WAS SO HOOKED!
I can’t wait to read the rest of this series.
A life of royalty is never what it seems to the outside world. Every moment of your existence is under a microscope. The hounding of the paparazzi is always just a click away. This is the reality that Nicholas Pembrooke faces as the Prince of Wessco. The expectations of the kingdom weights heavily on the shoulders of the man that will one day sit on the throne as a King.
With an ultimatum set in place by the Queen, Nicholas escapes to enjoy what little freedom he has left. What place would offer the Prince the ability to move about without the constant barrage of paparazzi?? Why New York of course!! With his best friend in tow, Nicholas sets out to drown his mind in a sea of alcohol. When the two walk into a bakery during a snow storm, Nicholas encounters a woman that doesn’t immediately fall into his arms. Olivia can’t help but pause when the handsome stranger tempts her with his charm, but there are more important things in life right now.
Nicholas doesn’t want to give up on going out with Olivia. His persistence is unparalleled. In spite of his crunch for time, Nicholas is determined to make the most of his time with Olivia. As the two begin spending more time together, their attraction gives way to something more. Royalty will wait for no one, and Nicholas finds his time with Olivia coming to an end. With his crown and kingdom on the line, will Nicholas be able to walk away when the time comes?
Royally Screwed is not your typical fairytale. Emma Chase has written a great novel that centers around a Prince and his chance at love. It’s a story that will warm your heart, leave you laughing at loud, and leave you wanting more about this unusual royal family!! The secondary characters will also provide some of the best fodder in the plot!! This royal journey is definitely one that will leave you rooting for the Prince who is torn between his title and love!
A fun, slightly over the top, cheesy royal romance with a touch of Cinderella. An excellent way to spend some time. I especially liked the twist at the climax. Andi Arndt & Shane East did a terrific job portraying the different characters.
This book was funny, romantic, and sexy. I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading the next book.
This book was a lot of fun. Lighthearted, romantic and steamy…a perfect summer read!
