“Passion, pleasure, and princely responsibilities make this sexy fairy tale a real page turner.” —Audrey Carlan, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Calendar GirlNicholas Arthur Frederick Edward Pembrook, Crowned Prince of Wessco, aka “His Royal Hotness,” is wickedly charming, devastatingly handsome, and unabashedly arrogant―hard not to be when people are constantly bowing down to you. Then, … constantly bowing down to you.
Then, one snowy night in Manhattan, the prince meets a dark haired beauty who doesn’t bow down. Instead, she throws a pie in his face.
Nicholas wants to find out if she tastes as good as her pie, and this heir apparent is used to getting what he wants.
Dating a prince isn’t what waitress Olivia Hammond ever imagined it would be.There’s a disapproving queen, a wildly inappropriate spare heir, relentless paparazzi, and brutal public scrutiny. While they’ve traded in horse drawn carriages for Rolls Royces and haven’t chopped anyone’s head off lately―the royals are far from accepting of this commoner.
But to Olivia―Nicholas is worth it.
Nicholas grew up with the whole world watching, and now Marriage Watch is in full force. In the end, Nicholas has to decide who he is and, more importantly, who he wants to be: a King… or the man who gets to love Olivia forever.

This book was great. It was sexy, funny and emotional. I definitely recommend this book, this series and this author. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.
What a dynamic Cinderella story where the hot prince wants the lowly waitress. What happens along the way will keep you glued to the book and laughing along the way. A wonderfully told story.
I love Emma and her books. Her writing is always fresh, funny and addicting. Royally Screwed is book one in the Royally series. And I finished it in one day. Laughed out loud, cried, got hot and bothered and laughed some more. Prince Nicholas is next in line for the throne. Something he’s been groomed to do since birth. His younger brother is on the loose in the States and Nicholas needs to intervene. Since finding out he has to marry in five months, he’s been on a bender and ends up in Olivia’s coffee shop, drunk and sexy as hell. He’s instantly attracted to her. She’s real and there’s something special about her. His charm and witty banter land him a pie in the face. But he can’t stop thinking about her. He returns and decides he’s going to just stay there and watch her until she relents. He wants just one date. Olivia can’t get over how hot he is. His sexy voice does something to her. But all he can offer her is a short term affair and then he’s gone. Will that be enough for Olivia? Can she live the rest of her life just having a few stolen moments with the sexy prince? Or is there a way they could have forever? I couldn’t get enough of this couple. Nicholas is sexy, sweet, funny and wildly inappropriate but in a good way! Olivia is smart, funny and tells it like she sees it. She doesn’t act differently just because he’s a prince. Nicholas hasn’t been this normal. Ever. And he loves the freedom. I didn’t want this book to end! I want more Nicholas!
I listened to the audio version of Royally Screwed and let me just say that it was one of the best ones I’ve ever heard. Olivia is trying to keep the family business going when she meets Nicholas. Little does she know that the drunken idiot is really Prince Nicholas. I loved what they brought out in each other and that we got to see the “laid back” version of the prince. Even though he is royalty, he had an amazing sense of humor. They both had me LMAO for a majority of the book. When the S*** hit the fan I was so invested in both of them that my heart broke. I’m sure we’ll be seeing them again in the rest of the series and I am excited to devour it.
This is my first book from Emma Chase.. this is a great story… a fairy tale, two people from different worlds meet up and fell in love. Hot, sexy seductive, sweet and full of drama spin.. cant wait till the next book… keep it going!
This funny royal read was endlessly entertaining when I needed a light read.
Yes yes yes my kind of book absolutely loved this book, Prince Nicholas was the man I’ve been looking for. Royally Screwed has been in the back of my mind to read since it came out, and yes it’s another why the hell didn’t I read this when it came out kicking myself.
This book was everything in a story that I wanted and it will be up there as one of my favourites books, and Emma Chase will be an author I will be looking up her other novels can’t wait.
Prince Nicholas was a pretentious pompous ass really to begin with, and even then you could see his humor, his charm, and stubbornness and I think that’s what made him really sexy. I felt like I wanted to punch him out a few times but this book wouldn’t have sucked me in as much as it did if I didn’t feel this way.
Olivia was such a great character because she never changed who she was, and never really gave in to Nicholas even if he was part of the royal family. What I loved most about Olivia is that she never judged a person and she forgave easily. She never apologized for who she was and was always honest. I just really loved her character.
Well if you’re looking for a romance that’s forbidden, gives you all the feels, has the grand gestures, makes you all hot inside and you love a royalty story then this one is for you
5 bigs stars for this one.
I love anything and everything Emma Chase writes and as someone who is unapologetically a huge fan of the British royal family, this series is absolutely one of my favorites. It’s that kind of series that despite clearly remembering the details of the stories, I always convince myself that I must reread all the previous books in the series before each new novel comes out. I don’t need the refresher, I just want an excuse to return to the world of Wessco.
Royally Screwed follows the story of Nicholas, the Crowned Prince of Wessco, and Olivia, the beautiful and sassy waitress he encounters on a snowy night in New York City. Knowing that he’s the next in line for the throne is a lot of pressure on Nicholas, especially when his grandmother, the Queen, keeps reminding him that getting married and having children isn’t just some grandmotherly wish of hers, it’s literally part of his job. But before he’s forced to settle down, Nicholas is determined to have Olivia. He’s used to everyone in the world bowing down to him, so he’s thrown for a loop when he meets Olivia. Not only does she not know who he is, she actually throws a pie in his face when he drunkly hits on her. But Olivia doesn’t have time to be woo’d by a Prince. She’s trying to single handedly keep her family’s coffee shop from going out of business and the last thing she needs is some rich entitled man making her life more complicated. And complicated is exactly what everything becomes when she inexplicably finds herself falling for the charming prince. With pressure from the disapproving Queen, a media frenzy, and meddling friends and family, being royal doesn’t always mean life is a fairy tale.
I adore Nicholas. I adore Olivia. I’m head over heels in love with them as a couple. They both feel like real people with real problems and responsibilities (even if one of them is a royal) and that’s what makes the story compelling. And they’re such a great fit for each other. Nicholas’ role in the world and all the perks that come with it brings a sense of adventure and levity to Oliva’s life that she desperately needed. But Olivia never bowing down or just letting Nicholas get his way is the perfect foil to his life in the spotlight as the future king. He’s a strong character, but she’s just as strong.
Chase is a queen when it comes to writing the male POV and Nicholas is no exception. While he comes across like a bit of a womanizing jerk in the very start of the novel, once you really get into his POV, you start to see his moral compass and strong sense of responsibility. That combined with an emotional depth you don’t always see in alpha heroes just makes him one of my favorite male characters.
The conflict was pretty clear and simple from the start, but Chase does such a fantastic job of world building that I didn’t mind one bit that I had a pretty good guess of where the plot was going to go. The story was interesting and the characters were clever and three-dimensional, so even if predictable, I never had that fleeting moment of “why should I even bother finishing this” like I often do with super predictable storylines. Instead I just felt sucked in and like I could read a hundred books of just their day to day activities and interactions with all the absolutely wonderful side characters.
Loved this!
A rollicking good royal read, the classic fairytale in a modern setting with contemporary characters.
Prince Nicholas is a gorgeous, naughty charmer and Olivia is his match in every way.
This was so great, I loved it! The perfect mix of banter, chemistry and yummy Royal hotness! I’m so happy that there will be 2 other books in the series. Very much looking forward to Henry’s book!
Why in the world did I wait so long to read Royally Screwed? Seriously, why? I loved every single little thing about this book. The only good thing that came out of waiting so long to read it is I got to binge the entire series in one week and, well, I can’t be mad about that.
Nicholas and Olivia were amazing. I was shipping them from their first meeting, even as Nicholas was acting like an utter ass. I enjoyed being part of the story as these two got to know each other and as their relationship grew. It wasn’t all perfect, but it was perfect for them and it felt as real as any prince meets “real woman” story does. It got messy, as you might expect when the hero has to marry someone who cannot be the heroine, but when it was all said and done I had a tear in my eye and a giant smile on my face. There were some very real feels during this book.
Man oh man did I love this book. Emma Chase does such a great job with the male POV and her heroes are always arrogant on the outside but so much more underneath. I love her heroines just as much as the heroes, if I’m honest. Plus, there’s a great cast of secondary characters — Harry, Ellie and Logan — and I couldn’t wait to get their stories. Now that I’ve read all the books, I can say the entire series is amazing and it’s totally binge-worthy.

“I don’t want to put my cock anywhere near your dignity, love. I want to put it everywhere else.”
“We can’t live for them. All we can do is try to be men worth dying for.”
My mother once told me that time was like the wind. It rushes over you, passes you—and no matter how hard you try, how much you want to, you can’t hold onto it, and you can’t ever slow it down.
I really wanted to like this book, but its really a typical prince meets average girl who has no idea he’s royalty. It gets very old and I’m not all that enamored with royalty anyways. I’ll admit this book had some funny parts, but I really couldn’t get into the story and Nicholas was a straight up asshole. I didn’t like Olivia at all and she was always getting mad at Nicholas in the most dramatic way possible. Her family business is failing, she doesn’t recognize Nicholas the two times she sees him until her sister tells her who he is. Nicholas has to find a wife, but he’s so drawn to this plain jane American, and then he’s madly in love with her and refuses to give her up.
The writing was very good and it was funny at times. Its a quick read and that’s the only reason why I finished this book. I did like Henry, Nicholas’s younger brother. This book just wasn’t for me. But I’d recommend reading it.
Emma Chase has outdone herself! She went out of her comfort zone by writing Royally Screwed, but still successfully penned something that will make every reader again believe in the magic of fairy tales. BRAVO, Chase!
Naughty Prince Charming meets feisty coffee shop waitress, their story will definitely bring heat and sweep you off your feet
Bow down to the Queen Emma Chase…she has ROYALLY take the crown with this book! This modern-day royalty romance is has exceeding all my hopes and dreams and is by far like nothing I’ve ever read before, royal romance or not, it is completely of its own league. From the witty interaction between the characters that had me literally laughing out loud to the more heart wrenching moments that utterly had me gutted, I was enthralled by it all! Nicolas, Olivia (and all the secondary characters) had me glued to the pages waiting to see what would happen next.
This story was about living in the moment. It was about two characters from completely different sides of the world (literally), whom both have a level of duty and sacrifices to make for their families. And those responsibilities are what brings them together in the beginning and what eventually brings them together on a much deeper level throughout the novel. We get to see their journey from “arrogant prince and feisty New York woman” just planning to enjoy their summer together, to “loving and compassionate couple” who don’t know how they can fulfill their obligations and not be with each other. Living a life of duty and honor, Nicolas has an obligation to the crown that cannot be denied and Olivia, living a life as a “commoner”, has accepted that there is no future between them, but what happens when love becomes part of the equation?
“Ask me again, Nicholas.”
“Stay.”
“For how long?”
“For always.”
A summer affair with an “expiration date” sounds plausible in the beginning until the end nears and your heart is involved. Is it worth risking your heart for a mere couple months of moments? Can Nicolas and Olivia walk away from each other in the end?
ROYALLY SCREWED is my favorite novel her Emma’s to date! Emma Chase did a phenomenal job of packing the storyline full of EVERYTHING a romance novel should have: swoon-worthy moments, tender moments, sexy moments *wink* and LOL moments. I felt completely giddy after finishing ROYALLY SCREWED and have been telling every book lover and friend of mine to one-click it and read it now! This is literally a fairy tale come true and was absolutely enchanting to read…I wish I was Olivia!
And shat makes this story even better, it is being made into a movie! You heard me correctly, a MOVIE! The film rights for ROYALLY SCREWED have been optioned by PassionFlix, which is a studio that is dedicated to turning romance novels into movies and series. They will be bringing the sexy, sweet modern fairy tale of Prince Nicolas and Olivia Hammond to life!
So if my 5+++ star review doesn’t persuade you to take a chance on this amazing novel, then that last tidbit of news I gave you should!

“You’re stunning, obviously clever–you should date often, and preferably with a man who knows how it’s done.” I rest my palm on my chest. “Coincidentally, I happen to be fantastic at it. What are the odds?”
This is almost reminiscent of yet another modern-day Cinderella story. I began reading this story after seeing SO MANY people talking about it & raving at the story. Being the somewhat cynical romantic that I am (yes, the two can go together), I wasn’t sure this was going to be a story I could get through without rolling my eyes every other page.
When I began, I was impressed at the complexity of the royal family. Each of the characters was facing their own troubles, the family itself wasn’t perfect, and their monarchy was well developed. This intrigued me, so I kept going to see whether the characters could keep it up.
Although the story does follow similar to the tale of Cinderella (poor girl makes good), there were enough differences that I didn’t feel up to my eyeballs in cliche. I most enjoyed that each of the characters really stayed true to themselves throughout the entire story. For Nicholas, that is a true feat since he is boggled down by so much obligation.
I totally enjoyed this story. I do have to say I was waaaaay more intrigued by Henry (Nicholas’s brother) than I was Nicholas. That being said … I may have dived right into the next one
Cute
Well written. Great characters. It’s a Cinderella like story. Poor American girl, meets a rich sexy prince. Passion and with some heartache too. Even though I think she forgives him to easily it has a nice HEA
Love this one. Even bought the Audible on it!
I loved this story. The royals were hilarious. Highly recommend.
