A hockey-playing prince, a most improper lady, and one accidental pregnancy… When you’re an heir so spare that getting attacked by a shark is more likely than you ever wearing the crown, you’re only allowed certain liberties. Yet still, those liberties can bite you in the ass.Good thing I’m such a charming devil.Even then, I’ve been banished to America for a year under the pretense of playing … under the pretense of playing professional hockey while my father cleans up my latest mess. But trouble follows me wherever I go. Generally trouble of the beautiful female variety, and Gracie Diamonte is no exception. Or possibly, she’s the best exception.
Until the dinosaur suit. The cookie incident. And the accidental pregnancy.
Of course I’ll do the right thing.
Just as soon as I solve that pesky problem of my royal betrothal.
I’m about to be the biggest scandal to rock my country and there’s a good chance my father may throw me to the sharks after all. The funny thing is I’ve heard that raising children may not be so different from swimming with the sharks. So no matter how you look at things I am Royally Pucked.
Royally Pucked is a hilariously wrong romance between a spare heir and the lady least likely to ever wear a princess crown, complete with dirty cookies, an emotional support monkey, and lots of pucking around. This romantic comedy stands alone with no cheating, cliffhangers and ends happily with a family of…more than two.

Royally Pucked
By: Pippa Grant
Narrated by: Jacob Morgan, Virginia Rose
Whenever I need to relax, fall in love and just laugh, I know I can count on Pippa Grant. Every time I find myself falling into a story with good friends and a lot of laughs. Royally Pucked is especially good because of the amazingly strong heroine. Meet Gracie. A baker by trade, she hooks up with hockey player, Manning and later finds is pregnant. Manning is no ordinary hockey player, but Prince, with royal obligations and expectations. Determined to raise the baby alone, she finds herself in the midst of a wonderful love story. Now Grant doesn’t just let it slowly unfold and let them easily get to their happy ending. We have pranks, and cookies, and the betrothed and family and hockey players all bringing us into the story full force. Laughing and falling in love is the best feeling, and she does it again for me with this one! The Copper Valley Thrusters are a team to follow!
Grant picks the best narrators for her stories. Jacob Morgan comes in with an accent that is swoony and heart melting. Virginia Rose shines as the feisty, Gracie. I enjoyed their comedic timing how their voices complimented each other. It was a great listen!

Audio Review
Fantastic listen to this rom com with heart and a hot royal hockey player.
Manning knows his time is running out but he will enjoy his freedom as long as he can. Gracie has always second guessed herself due to her dyslexia even though her sister, Joey has always told her she can do whatever she wants. When she decides his royal hotness, Manning is what she wants she gets more than she bargained for.
This is funny and the heat is off the charts and the characters are all great. Oh and there is a monkey that is just too funny. Loved it.
Jacob Morgan and Virginia Rose were great. Jacob with his accent and Virginia nailed the southern Gracie. Great job.
I loved it and recommend this audio.
Don’t know how I missed this one earlier, but the audio is superb and she might have absolutely broken me with bust a gut laughing in the first 25% of the book. Loved it!
Royally Pucked is the second book in the Thrusters Hockey Series. Manning and Gracie have become friends, but when they have one night of connection, there’s an unexpected consequence. Both now have to face reality of what a baby would bring to their lives, with the added complications of him being royalty, but will Manning be able to give up Gracie and his child to avoid royal commitment, or will he fight for the loves of his life?
What a great read! Manning and Gracie packed all of the feels, and I loved their individual journeys as well as their journey together to find love. I definitely loved Gracie’s character! I think she grew the most and I truly enjoyed watching her come into her own self. She admits that Goat’s Tit is safe, so being outside opens up so much for her and it was so well written! Manning runs kind of hot and cold, but for an amazing reason – duty versus heart. I liked how much he tried to rebel against others in small ways, like constantly smiling, but also looked out for those in his group, felt deeply, and had a goofy spirit! They were amazing together, when they were together, but one slight negative to this book is how much time they needed to spend apart from one another. BUT I loved that they both wanted to fight for one another and I loved the times when there was the unexpected sweet romance! They wanted to love, they wanted to find happiness, and they wanted those around them happy, too. While I wasn’t laughing out loud quite as much as I did in Zeus and Joey’s book, I was hooked, swooning, giggling, and definitely fell in love with both Gracie and Manning!
Royally Pucked by Pippa Grant is a stand alone rom-com although the characters do recur from her other books.
Manning Frey, professional hockey player with the Copper Valley Thrusters, has been given a year to play in the United States. Manning, otherwise known as “Your Highness,” is fourth in line behind his brothers and nephew for the crown of Stolland, a Viking country in the Norwegian sea.
Gracie Diamonte, younger sister of Joey, owns a little bakery in a tiny town in Alabama. She loves baking and is good at it. But she also found an extra way to make money. By printing pictures onto her cookies, certain dirty pictures of body parts.
“She draws me into her orbit by merely existing. I’ve been enchanted from the first moment I laid eyes on her.”
Gracie and Manning first met at a charity golf tournament and the chemistry was off the charts. Neither has been able to think of much else. So on the night when Manning found Gracie in the building after a game, when he was actually alone without his constant body guard, Viktor, they took advantage of the moment. Only their encounter had consequences. Gracie finds herself pregnant. She also finds out that the father of her child was betrothed when he himself was still a baby. Betrothed to a woman he wants nothing to do with.
“This is what’s been missing from my life. A woman who wants me because I’m a man. Not because the blood coursing through my veins is that of kings and Vikings.”
Manning can’t see a way out of his betrothal. It could cause a major international incident. But Gracie is not giving up without a fight. She wants her baby to know her father. And in order to do that, she has to help Manning. She will help him whether he wants it or not.
“That’s what Gracie is though. Joy. Light. Happiness. All wrapped up and braided together with strength and determination and a drive toward that which is right.”
Gracie has such a low opinion of herself. She feels like she would never be princess material. But she can at least help Manning to get out of this horrible agreement. Manning feels like the right thing to do is to let Gracie go. Not to drag her into his family’s mess. But the more he is around her, the less that becomes possible. Because even with everything that is going on, he can’t stop wanting her.
This was such a good book. It was fun but not too over the top. Gracie was so brave and strong. She would not give up on Manning. And it seems I have a thing for proper speaking heroes. Manning was every bit a royal in his manner of speaking. Every time he called Gracie My Lady, I got butterflies. Don’t even get me started on how sexy he is. These two together were so adorable. I couldn’t help but to cheer for them to get their happy ever after. All of the books with these characters are so much fun but I might love this one best!
“My blood may belong to my country, but my heart belongs to you.”
Interesting concept of a “royal” playing hockey in the US. Not quite sure I buy that storyline but overall a fun read.
I am SO happy I found Pippa Grant’s books! Whether the hero is royalty, a CEO, a librarian, or in this case a hockey player, I know that I am going to get a hilarious, sexy story with a lot of heart.
Nick is Kami’s best friend’s brother. She has been crushing on him forever. When they finally hook up she accepts a friends with benefits situation….until she realizes she wants so much more. Nick is quite happy with his arrangement with Kami….until she dumps him. Suddenly he is lost and only Kami can bring his life and his game back to normal.
This books is hilarious! Cow shenanigans, crazy birthday presents, laugh out loud blind dates, Charming As Puck has it all! I will definitely be rereading!
Another terrific rom-com from Grant. Love the character of Gracie; she’s strong without being abrasive. Her strength comes from her generous, loyal, and kind nature. Manning seems to have it all — he’s a prince, a (hockey) player, and a charming pain-in-the-butt — but actually, he lacks what a lot of people take for granted: freedom.
Once again Pippa Grant has took me in and made me laugh my a$$ off!! I love these characters so much and have been looking forward to reading Manning’s book. I knew there was a lot more to him than beats the eye. And I just love Gracie she is so awesome. And she grows so much in this book. I love all the different characters from previous books and to see how they are doing and what they are up to but still not taking away from the main characters at all. I can’t wait for the next book!!! I am absolutely loving these books!!! Pippa is becoming one of my favorites!! I highly recommend this book and these are all stand alones which are awesome!! – By Tina
Another five star hit by Pippa Grant. When I want a good romcom I know I can turn to Author Pippa Grant and she did not disappoint me with Royally Pucked.Where will you find one book with an accidental pregnancy hot hockey players, emotional support monkey and in yes dick cookies. Well written and rub hugging funny. When I hit the end I kept looking for more because I just didn’t want to say goodbye to … It was so much fun to fun.
A wonderful read. A well written story of a made up principality and town. Gracie is warm and kindhearted and Manning is a prince among men. I enjoyed the friendships and family moments.
Another winner by Pippa Grant. Gracie is a baker of both normal and dirty cookies. Manning is a prince from a Scandinavian country who plays hockey and is betrothed by his grandfather to a woman he despises. They hook up, and a baby and hilarity ensues. The characters are enjoyable, and the plot deliciously crazy. A great fun read.
Wow! Pippa Grant does it again with her fourth book Royally Pucked! The world she is creating just keeps getting bigger and better. Manning Frey, bless his royal heart, wants Gracie Diamonte with a passion but lets his honor and protective nature make him believe he knows what’s best. Men! Gracie lets her low self-esteem get in the way, thinking she’s not worthy enough to be a princess, pfft! These two do a dance around each other and we get to enjoy the hilarity that ensues.
“Oh, those document you sent? I fried them up in butter, added some ground beef, and served them to the goats on Old Man Jones’ farm.”
The well rounded cast of secondary characters just add to the incredible story. From Elin, the perfect b*tch, to Viktor, the strong silent type. Plus we get more Ares and his quiet antics! This is such a perfect romcom. Sit back and be prepared to snicker, laugh out loud, and snort giggle!
Manning and Gracie are so flipping cute, I just love them. He doesn’t care that he is royalty – he is funny and goofy with her. So protective. This was the sweetest story.
So here is book two in the Copper Valley series. So you remember Joey right. Well you know her sister Gracie, yep we get her story here. So this is pretty interesting. Joey is really protective of her sister Gracie. However Gracie has her own charm about her. She runs her own bakery and get this, she makes adult cookies. Yikes!! She is a brave woman for doing that. Manning Frey is a prince!! He just talks to Gracie at first that is it. That is until he actually does get to know her. One day she is gets brave and makes a move on him. Yep she did only to find out that she also has a piece of him that she will carry forever. Well this is where everything gets interesting. We find out that the prince is already taken but he does not want it. Other information about that comes out as well and it is juicy af. Anyways Gracie sure as heck did not see that coming and Manning is bound and determined to get her back. He realizes that she is what he wants. Can he get out of what was arranged for him? What will Gracie do now. Well I gotta say that his fight was worth it so they both get a happily ever after.
Another hilarious book from Pippa. Manning is a sweet and smooth talking prince who also plays hockey. My kind of Prince. Gracie is a firecracker just like her sister and I love her cookie business. I would absolutely buy some if they were in my city.
I was laughing as much as I was swooning. And having Ares in the book as well? I’ve got a major soft spot for those Berger twins. I love having appearances from past characters and characters that I’ve read about in other Pippa books. I’ve read out of suggested reading order so I’m going back to catch up. I’m deep in the Pippaverse and I love it.
You know when you pick up a Pippa Grant story it is going to be loaded with fun, crazy shenanigans, and lovable characters and Gracie and Manning’s story was all of that. I could not get enough of this book and loved every moment. The audio was narrated by Jacob Morgan and Virginia Rose and they both did an amazing job. I love Virginia in comedy roles plus Jacob Morgan with an accent. Definitely worth a listen or read!
Gracie and Manning: This is the second book in the Copper Valley Thrusters Series. I love Royally Romance! Gracie and Manning’s story is hilarious, sweet, and sexy. Manning is a hockey-player, and a prince. He is handsome, and caring. Gracie, a baker, is lovely, feisty, and independent. They are opposites attract, and they are perfect together. Their story is beautifully written, and really sweet. The supporting characters are great! The Epilogues are hilarious! Jacob Morgan and Virginia Rose did a fantastic job with the narration. Jacob Morgan’s accent is very pleasant to listen to. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to listen to more in the series.
a little slow at times
I was hesitant about picking up this book. Especially since The Pilot and the Puck Up was not my favorite. I struggled with Joey and Zeus’s book. But while reading that one, I was intrigued by Manning. There was something about him that had me knowing I would read his story. Plus knowing this has the accidental pregnancy trope, that helped seal the deal.
And you know what, I enjoyed Royally Pucked. I was actually a bit bummed when it ended.
