Some men are born responsible, some men have responsibility thrust upon them. Henry John Edgar Thomas Pembrook, Prince of Wessco, just got the motherlode of all responsibility dumped in his regal lap. He’s not handling it well.Hoping to help her grandson to rise to the occasion, Queen Lenora agrees to give him “space”—but while the Queen’s away, the Prince will play. After a chance meeting with an … chance meeting with an American television producer, Henry finally makes a decision all on his own:
Welcome to Matched: Royal Edition.
A reality TV dating game show featuring twenty of the world’s most beautiful blue bloods gathered in the same castle. Only one will win the diamond tiara, only one will capture the handsome prince’s heart.
While Henry revels in the sexy, raunchy antics of the contestants as they fight, literally, for his affection, it’s the quiet, bespectacled girl in the corner—with the voice of an angel and a body that would tempt a saint—who catches his eye.
The more Henry gets to know Sarah Mirabelle Zinnia Von Titebottum, the more enamored he becomes of her simple beauty, her strength, her kind spirit… and her naughty sense of humor.
But Rome wasn’t built in a day—and irresponsible royals aren’t reformed overnight.
As he endeavors to right his wrongs, old words take on whole new meanings for the dashing Prince. Words like, Duty, Honor and most of all—Love.

Emma Chase’s new book is fantastic. A sexy prince, a sweet librarian, and a ton of twists and turns makes this fairy-tale a must read.
I enjoyed the second in this series. The characters are well defined and I was totally in love with the heroine-she reminded me of me. I would have chosen the same bedroom she did!
This is romance in the royal sense, but the hero decides to find his queen by using a reality tv style contest. Fun abounds and a slow development of discovery that the quiet ones aren’t all they seem.
Great dialogue, and that is one thing that I look forward to in a romantic comedy.
Easy read, could be read alone but makes more sense if read after the first one- Royally Screwed.

Royally Matched is the second installment in Emma Chase’s adult contemporary romance series titled Royally. Unruly, playboy prince meets quiet, librarian girl during The Bachelor: Royal Edition. Royally Matched focuses more on the behind the scenes romance than the reality show itself which I appreciated. Overall, I liked this book. Ms. Chase added a tinge of complexity to these characters which caused the story to feel a bit more emotional than it might have otherwise. As usual, this story’s stress climax was oh so preventable with an ounce of communication, but whatever. That seems to be the writing formula these days. If you are a fan of this author or a follower of this series, be sure to check it out. Royally Matched can easily be read as a standalone.
My favorite quote:
“If nightmares can come true, and sometimes they do… than so can our happiest dreams.”
Emma Chase’s Royally series includes the following installments as of March 2017:
#1-Royally Screwed
#2-Royally Matched
#3-Royally Endowed
Well this is one of the sweetest love stories I’ve ever read. This is my 3rd Emma Chase book and I’m so glad to say that she does not disappoint!
Royally Matched is the 2nd book in the Royally series and I read the 3rd book first which was a bodyguard romance and the 1st and the 2nd books are about the two crown princes of Wessco and how they find their true love.
Though this book doesn’t have a big storyline or major plot twists, I have to admit that I immensely enjoyed this heartfelt love story. It’s a funny, light hearted story with a very deep and an emotional message.
I gave this book 4 royal stars and if you are looking for a sweet HEA, I wholeheartedly recommend this book.

PS: I’ve voluntarily read and reviewed this book
Emma Chase does royal romance in the best way- I adored this sexy, charming story!
3.75 stars
I rounded up. I really enjoyed this one, more than the first one, I think. There is something so sweet and charming about Henry and Sarah and their interactions. Everyone loves a good underdog story! But then it was also steamy and delicious. The contrast was wonderful.
I loved watching them grow, separately and together. They learn so much and you just can’t help cheering them on. And Willard and Annie were great additions to this world! The whole thing warmed my heart in a way few romances do because it was about more than the romance. Sure, it was about Henry being the eventual king but it was more than that, even. There were very real, ordinary issues that Henry and Sarah had to grapple with and I appreciated that touch of depth. It rounded the story out for me and made it more enjoyable.
I’d like to read Willard’s story next!
Characters:
Henry- How could you not like Henry?? He’s such a great soul and seems like a blast to be around.
Sarah- I liked Sarah’s character. I related to her in the aspect of hiding behind books and not wanting to branch out to write our own stories.
Quotes:
“My father used to put together jigsaw puzzles in his spare time. Sometimes, there were pieces, just one or two, that were odd, that didn’t seem to fit in anywhere. He would put them off to the side and I would think, maybe there’s something wrong with them, maybe they’re broken. But then…he would find the piece they fit with, their match—and when the two pieces were joined, you could see what they were supposed to be. Where they fit and how important they were to the whole picture.”
“I sink into the chaise lounge in my bedroom, throw a soft, velour blanket over my legs, open my book—and block out the world. ”
“If nightmares can come true, and sometimes they do… then so can our happiest dreams.”
“My story hasn’t been written yet … but I know it begins with you.”
Overall:
I’m writing this review as I listen to Hallelujah by Pentatonix. This song will never be the same after reading this book. I enjoyed this book immensely more than the first book. I fell for Henry HARD. I like Nicholas don’t get me wrong, but he doesn’t compare to his brother. I love how passionate Henry is. He sets his mind to something and does it right. Sure it takes awhile for him to get there, but the journey is part of the process.
Disclaimer: This book is HOT HOT HOT. Off the charts HOT! So if you aren’t into those types of scenes then honey, this isn’t for you! This book had some really steamy scenes but it also had a ton of sincere, swoon worthy moments as well. Don’t let that cover fool you! Henry has a heart of gold and loves with all his heart.
I don’t remember reading a book where the MC works in a library. I loved how much of a reader Sarah was and her immense love for books. Seeing Sarah have book related moments was the best. Her curling up with a book, obsessing over a worn, first edition copy, getting excited over a book nook etc. It was so awesome to see the book lovers represented here.
I also enjoyed one of the characters having a deeper backstory. Not everything in real life is puppy dogs and rainbows so it’s nice to see how others cope with a horrific upbringing or something traumatic that has happened to them.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I’m glad I went ahead and picked it up instead of stopping after feeling just okay about book 1. I loved the relationship between Henry and Sarah. I even cried at some parts. If a book makes me cry, then it’s a keeper! I look forward to book 3 with Logan and Ellie. Who doesn’t love a sexy bodyguard?!?!?
**For those who’ve read this book/series: Is it just me or did you compare Nicholas to Prince William and Henry to Prince Harry?!?! I felt I was constantly comparing them lol.
P.S. Did we ever learn Sarah’s mother’s name????? I kept looking for it as I read but never saw it? Strange right?
I was proud to read this book. It was very funny, witty and entertaining. I will read more of Emma Chase books. Good job.
Growing up in his brother’s shadow, Henry John Edgar Thomas Pembrook, Prince of Wessco, the younger brother of Nicholas (Royally Screwed), balked at the enormous responsibility thrust upon him when his brother abdicates the crown. The queen gives him space to come to terms with the responsibilities of being the Crown Prince, and true to his flamboyant, party-boy ways, he decides to participate in a reality TV dating game show featuring twenty of the world’s most beautiful blue bloods gathered in the same castle.
He meets Sarah, the older sister of one of the contestants, and falls for her simple beauty, strength, and kind spirit.
Henry finds in Sarah the calming presence he needed to tame his wild ways, and under Henry’s attention, Sarah blossoms and learns to get out of her shell.
That’s all I am going to say about the story, because I want you, readers, to join me in enjoying their journey of discovery.
Once in a while you come across a story where you fall in love with the characters, with all their faults, failures, and misses. You either want to bash their heads in frustration, or you want to cradle them close to your heart and smother them with love and affection.
That is Henry and Sarah for you. Join me in their journey of discovery that Emma Chase artfully delivers, and maybe, like me, you will fall in love with all her characters too.
I am so glad i have finally read this book, i picked it up a few times and just wasn’t in the mood for it but i am so glad i waited as i absolutely loved it and was excatly what i needed.
I love a good royal family story but this one was so different and to be honest wasn’t sure if it would be good, but i am so glad i was so wrong because this book was everything and more.
I loved Prince Henry in the first book always the one cracking jokes and not to be to serious and even at the start of this book he was so funny and dirty, but nothing was sexier then reading him falling in love and becoming a man. I really loved his character and one i won’t forget.
Sarah she was someone really special she had her problems and darkness but she was such an admirable character reading her come out of her shell and really become her own person. I loved how these two characters changed each other for the better.
This book had all the angst and fantastic storyline and kept me hooked to the point i couldn’t put it down and read it in one sitting.
I loved this book it had me laughing crying and gave me the feels, this was a very strong love and sort of romantic.
Loved loved loved this book big 5 royal stars for this one.
I devoured this book in one sitting. Fantastic series. Couldn’t wait for the second installment of this series. Prince Henry is the younger brother of Prince Nicholas from Royally Screwed and ohhh my! This sexy charmer will win your heart! If you love modern day fairy tales you will love this one. Funny, sexy and outright swoon worthy.
This second book was just as great as the first one in this series. It was sexy, funny and very emotional. I definitely recommend this book, this series and this author. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.
I’m loving the Royally series by the wonderful Emma Chase. I know when I pick up one of Emma’s books, I’m in for a delicious treat. This one is in the form of a sexy, royally bad prince. We met Henry in Royally Screwed and I knew he was going to be sexy and delightful. He’s a free loving spirit with a big heart, but he’s not fit to be the King. Yet. When the Queen lets him have some time alone, he turns the castle into a dating reality show! It’s all fun and games to Henry until he realizes he can’t have sex with the contestants and he can’t sleep in his own room. He finds sanctuary with the sister of one of the stars, who he’s actually met before. She’s shy, quietly pretty and funny with a killer body under her dark, drab clothes. During the day, he plays the Royal Star, but at night, he’s Henry. Sarah is shy to the point of so nervous she can barely speak in a crowd. But there’s something about Prince Henry that allows Sarah to relax and be herself. Can the sexy, playboy prince fall for the shy librarian? I loved watching this unique love story unfold. Literary references, dirty jokes, and hilarious situations kept me entertained the whole time. It’s the Henry Effect.
(4.5 stars)
I am an Emma Chase newbie and I am hooked. I’ve been thoroughly enjoying the Royals and can’t wait to read Raised and Endowed. To say Henry is overwhelmed after Nicholas abdicates the throne would be an understatement. That would be why he believes it a good idea if he stars in a reality dating show. Honestly, I was skeptical about this story line but was pleasantly surprised that the show took a back seat to exploring his budding relationship with Sarah. Yes, we do get to see him “dating” his contestants it wasn’t too much that it turned me off (because I despise reality dating shows). Just like his brother, Henry has quite the sense of humor and I often found myself laughing out loud. Smart, funny, sexy—this series has it all.
I never thought I’d love a fictional prince as much as I loved Prince Nicholas in Royally Screwed. But then we got a glimpse into Prince Henry’s brain.
Thanks to his elder brother abdicating the throne for the sake of love, Prince Henry’s life has been turned upside down. He was always the “spare” and now he’s the heir. To the throne of an entire country. After living his entire life so far as the royal family’s party boy, the adjustment has him reeling. And when one major mistake lands him in the queen’s version of time out, he finds himself with just enough freedom and time alone to get into even more trouble, but perhaps the best kind of trouble. An American television producer has offered him the opportunity to be the bachelor on Matched: Royal Edition and Henry is pretty sure that having a bunch of beautiful ladies all vie for his attention sounds like the very best way to spend his time before being forced into a lifetime of serving everyone but himself. But the very last thing Henry expects is to find himself drawn not to one of the contestants, but to the quiet Sarah, who isn’t even there as part of the competition.
All Lady Sarah wants is to remain unnoticed in the shadows, so she absolutely is not excited about her awful boss forcing her to give a huge presentation at work. And joining her sister on “official royal business” (aka babysitting Penny while she competes on the show) is the perfect no questions asked excuse to get out of it. She’d be perfectly content sitting on the sidelines and just rereading her favorite books, but the charming Prince Henry has different ideas for her. They inexplicably find themselves drawn to each other and the more time they spend together, outside of the prying eyes of the cameras and real contestants on the show, the more they realize they each have way more to offer than anyone has ever given them credit for.
After getting introduced to Henry in Royally Screwed, I definitely had certain expectations for this book. I figured it’d be funny and occasionally thoughtful and probably sexier than the first book, Henry being the playboy prince and all. What I didn’t expect was that it would be quite as heartwarming as it was. Lady Sarah grounded Henry in a way that I didn’t expect but quickly found myself absolutely adoring. She wasn’t the type of character I’d originally thought he’d end up with, but she was the type of character he absolutely needed.
Lady Sarah. Utter Perfection. I loved her deep love of any and all books. It was something I found incredibly relatable and I truly appreciated that Chase didn’t just make Sarah a fan strictly of classic “literature” novels, but gave her room to have a wide variety of interests. But Sarah was so much more than her books. She was fiercely protective of her sister, even when it meant taking herself out of her comfort zone. She was brilliant and sweet and everything I would want in a queen.
I found the romance aspect entirely sweeter than I ever imagined. The book still has plenty of steamy moments, it is Emma Chase after all. But Chase gave the characters so much emotional connection, as friends and then as more than friends, that when the steamy moments happened, they felt meaningful and never gratuitous.
One of my absolute favorite things about this book is its slightly unconventional happily ever after. A certain amount of the conflict was predictable, but I absolutely loved that after that was wrapped up Chase didn’t just give us a “kiss and make up” scene and leave it at that. She gave us something that felt more real- a glimpse into life after that isn’t always wrapped up in a tight little bow. The whole book had emotional moments, but the ending chapters were chockfull of deep emotion that truly solidified my love for Henry and Sarah as a couple.
I finally got around to reading the second instalment in this series, and I really enjoyed it. I’m an Aussie, so Henry reminds me an awful lot of our own Prince Harry – the party playboy, the wild outgoing and more relatable Prince that has only now recently married himself.
I enjoyed reading about Henry and Sarah and watching them find themselves and grow together. The idea of “Matched” was really fun too, even though in reality, I don’t watch those types of shows at all. The ins and outs of the show were very much what I imagine they are in real life and so it was still entertaining to read.
My fave part of the book though was the ending. The last maybe 1/4 of the book. When things really picked up, and Henry and Sarah both really stepped up and into their personalities. They grew more, together and apart, and I loved this bit. The ending was perfect them and I look forward to reading more of this series as well.
I love when I end a book with a big ole smile on my face. Huge love for Henry and Sarah, I didn’t want their story to end!
Can I be perfectly honest for a minute? I didn’t expect to like Henry as much as I did. Don’t get me wrong, he was mostly ok as a side character in Royally Screwed, but the idea of him as a hero/love interest kinda just made me shrug. His immature, party-boy ways didn’t do much for me. I should’ve known Emma wouldn’t let me down and, when it was all said and done, he’d be my favorite of the bunch. You know, if I was the kind of reader who plays favorites. Royally Matched was a fantastic follow up to Royally Screwed. I am so happy I made time to go on an epic Royally binge last week. These books were exactly what I needed in my life.
So yeah, Henry. I kinda felt for him at the end of Royally Screwed, when Nicholas’ decision upended his entire life. But, let’s face it, he needed to get his priorities straight so it probably wasn’t the worst thing in the world. There was a good man underneath his playboy exterior and this seemed to be just the kick in the pants he needed. I really enjoyed his journey in this book.
I also loved Sarah. When we met her briefly in Royally Screwed, my romance-reader senses perked up and I wondered if she might be the perfect match for Henry. She totally was. He helped bring her out of her shell and she helped balance him. And while there were several other woman vying for Henry’s affections on the awesomely hilarious reality show, he really only had eyes for one woman. (Though there was still a fair bit of drama with the other ladies.) Side note: I don’t watch reality TV anymore, but I have my history with it and to this day I still love books set in a reality show world.
I loved Royally Matched so much. This book was the perfect combination of sweet, sexy and funny. It also made me swoon and gave me (tons of) feels. I just didn’t want to put Henry and Sarah down once I picked them up. And, of course, the minute I finished this book I jumped right into Royally Endowed. Because Ellie and Logan. All the heart eyes.
FAVORITE QUOTES
If Harry Potter was the Boy Under the Stairs, I could be the Prince Under the Stage. Why the fuck not?
He could crush me; the foreshadowing is clearly written. It’s a tale as old as time: the inexperienced bluestocking and the bed-hopping rogue. Bloody hell, I’m a trope.
Emotions are mysterious things. Sometimes they build slowly, surging like a wave before cresting to a peak and crashing all over you. But that’s not what I’m experiencing now.
“Everyone knows the best way to get a turtle out of its shell is to stick a finger up its arse. Have you tried that?”
“My story hasn’t been written yet, but I know it begins with you.”
4 Repetrification Stars!!! Yes! I have returned to a world of Emma Chase’s creation. Royally Matched is the second in the Royally series by Ms Chase. Her signature snark and humor is as evident in this one as it is in all her other books. While Tangled remains my favorite series, this one has definite potential to rival it.
After his brother abdicated, Henry is now the crown prince of Wessco. He’s perfectly unfit to rule. At least in his opinion, his brother thinks otherwise. The queen? She still hasn’t decided. She’s giving him a chance to prove himself and get his act together by banishing him to one of the remote royal estates. After just a few days Henry is bored and come up with the perfect plan to entertain himself.
Sarah is the shy, quiet sister to Penelope’s wild child. After Penelope hears of Henry’s plan she’s all in. The only problem is that their mother won’t let Penny go without Sarah. What could possibly go wrong?
The antics that Henry gets himself into are hilarious. Oh, and repetrification? You can find the reference to that in the first chapter and I guarantee it’ll have you laughing out loud. Sarah and Henry are proof that opposites attract.
