4 stars for Royally Entangled by Catherine Banks. This is book one in Her Royal Harem series. This is a paranormal reverse harem. I loved Jolie right from the start. She is strong, sassy, and doesn’t apologize for who she is, and I love that. Jolie and the guys are gamers but trust me you don’t have to know about gamers to enjoy the story. I enjoyed the book and the laugh out loud moments. Ready to start book two
An entangled read!
Ending a war makes her a savior to some…
But a target to others…
It was an enjoyable but average read. At moments, it was funny and alright. Though the heroine – honestly, I don’t like her and I don’t feel a connection to her at all.
I don’t feel for this book at all. I’m not going gaga or crazy for it at all which is disappointing. I’m just glad I was able to finish it but I’m not picking up the rest of the books anytime soon. I will sometime in the future since I purchased the box set because it was going on sale.
Full of curses, princes, vampires, dragons, mages, magic, action and love.
Perfect for readers of paranormal romances.
A fun take on the concept of harems. Jolie is a fairly normal geeky girl who lands a career job that would make most gamer girls squee. Adding in the concept of all sorts of shifter and fantasy races makes it an even more solid adventure. I love how vast the different cultures are and how overall upbeat and fast-paced the book is.
I only had two complaints. Jolie gets a little too whiny about being worthy, but it is shown in a way most women can relate to. Media does tend to make us overly conscious about our looks and worth, so seeing that in a book isn’t surprising. Finally, the end felt abrupt. I don’t mind cliff hangers, but it seemed like it should have continued on and not just been suddenly done. Still, well worth reading, and I’ve just finished the second book before leaving this review so I can say that with confidence.
If you’re looking for a fun, light read where you can let go and enjoy yourself, this is the series for you.
Wish I could give it a ten! A fantastic, entertaining, and magical adventure, with four handsome paranormal princes, a human woman, a war, lots of evil villains, and four kings. There is exciting adventures, entertaining misadventures, four different but loving men, a beautiful young woman in trouble, and lots of evil villains trying to kill her! Will they save her and themselves? Does she have the key to end the war? Will their love be strong enough to survive? Because she loves all four and wants them all, she won’t choose, all or none!
I loved this one. Jolie is a down to earth cool girl. She likes to play video games. Some times she doesn’t think before she says ans does stuff. She ends up meeting Deryn, Nico, Fox, and Rhys at separate time but they all know each other. Deryn, Nico, Fox, and Rhys are not normal guys, they are a werewolf, elf, mage, and a dragon. In the beginning had a little bit of trouble reminding who who was. They all like Jolie and I was kind of wondering what made her so special. There a little twist and great story line. I’m definitely going to read book two.
I waited for this series to be completed before I started it. I hate waiting and I still do it to myself but I knew that I could wait for this series and I would gobble it all up in a few days which is exactly what I did. This is my first read from this author but it will not be my last. I really enjoyed the characters, didn’t care to much for the insta-lust but it wasn’t a bad match. I could see the chemistry and I could see where the relationship would grow. I do like how the princes cared for one another as well.
Overall: 4/5
I couldn’t get myself invested in this story, I enjoyed it and was pulled in from the beginning. But I didn’t like Jolie all that much, she comes off as helpless and indecisive. I LOVED that she’s a gamer girl and can handle being one of the guys but her indecisiveness, flip floping constantly and constant news to be rescued was slightly off putting and kept me from getting fully invested in the story. Despite that, I did enjoy the male characters and the amount of compassion and understanding that they show throughout the story. I did enjoy the amount of action that occurred and that is what makes me want to continue reading this series. I look forward to hopefully seeing growth in Jolie’s character and seeing what happens next.
I loved it! Great start to the series! I can’t wait to find out what happens with Jolie and her Guards. Thoroughly entertaining, great character development and plot.
