What’s a crown prince to do with time on his hands? Or better yet, who? It’s Prince Garrett’s turn to find love in this mouthwatering standalone novel from the New York Times bestselling author of Royal Pain. Once upon a time I was being groomed to sit on the throne of Wildemar. Now I’m lucky they let me into the palace through the front door. After I was kidnapped and tortured by extremists, … kidnapped and tortured by extremists, my reward upon my release is that nobody trusts me enough to let me be king. And since my twin brother, Kian, has assumed all my responsibilities, I figure why not take over as the black sheep?
But after breaking things off with my betrothed—we never had much chemistry, anyway—and giving the jetsetting playboy lifestyle a try, I’m starting to wonder if I’m cut out for this s***. Then I meet Lola Barnes, a drop-dead gorgeous entrepreneur from the States who’s as refreshing as she is feisty.
It’s supposed to be a one-night-stand—until the press catches wind of my “new American sweetheart.” Trouble is, Lola’s no sweetheart. But the more I see our names together in the headlines, the more I find myself craving another taste. . . .
Advance praise for Royal Treatment

“Two people as messed up as we are really have no business being together.”
I confess, I didn’t think Garrett could win me over as much as his twin brother Kian did, but I was wrong. When Garrett was rescued after being kidnapped and tortured, the broken prince stole my heart. I learned that he was more than the goody-goody chosen one, and an heir to the throne. Yeah, maybe he was more serious and not as funny and carefree as his twin, but he had so much more responsibility to weigh him down. Well, at least he did, before his father decided that the son that was returned to him after the abduction wasn’t fit to be king. Now the heir has become the spare.
Kian is still hilarious, especially now that he’s taken over Garrett’s role as the next prince in line for the throne. It’s the last thing he wants. He’s never wanted that responsibility and he’s fully aware that his brother does. If it wasn’t for Garrett’s coaching, he wouldn’t have even made it through a single one of the meetings he’s required to attend. Let’s hope that there’s still a country left to lead by the time he gets through messing up.
Garrett tries to keep his resentment under control and his anger simmering below the surface. But sometimes it’s hard to accept his new lot in life. He’s made the ultimate sacrifice and rather than it being appreciated he’s been put out to pasture. Why not see if the grass really is greener on the other side? Kian had a blast being the black sheep of the family, so why not give it a try? Maybe women and partying and no responsibility is the way to go. That’s how he met her…Lola.
Lola is an amazing character who won me over in a single sentence. I became the president of her fan club immediately and never wavered in my support. She is a little red-headed fireball who is not intimidated by royalty or their security and is not afraid to let them know it in no uncertain terms. How could Garrett fail to notice and appreciate her? Especially when she was wearing a tiny bikini when she decided to take on his security detail. He thought he would be satisfied with just a taste, but once he got one, he knew it wasn’t enough.
Garrett might know how to run a country, but he couldn’t run her. Even when he gave her the ‘royal treatment’ he was the one bending to her will. He couldn’t get enough of her feistiness and her beauty bowled him over. When their one date got caught on camera the media exposure made it impossible to keep it a secret. Was their invasion of her privacy too much to handle, or would she be willing to keep playing with the prince?
I’ve really enjoyed the His Royal Hotness series and wish there were more princes in the palace to look forward to. But no worries, I’m ready for whatever the author has for us next, she never disappoints. The line forms here…
I liked this one a lot. I’m giving it 4 out of 5 stars. This review is for an ARC, and reflects my honest opinion.
So I started this one back in April (got almost 3/4 done), and then I got bombarded with ARCs for review tours. It’s my own fault that I didn’t have time to finish, but it wasn’t from lack of not wanting to read it. I really liked both Garrett and Lola!
The book was a little heavy, but that’s not surprising given who one of the main characters was and what happened in the last book. We pick up where that one left off, except now we focused on a different couple…and the brother I was honestly more excited for. I liked Kian, but Garrett is more my style.
Lola was the perfect match for Garrett. She was stubborn, strong, so loving, etc. He needed someone who could help him handle the demons he faced. I highly recommend this book if you like strong heroines, royalty romance, and some sassiness.
Garrett was struggling to move forward after his horrific experience but was still Royal Hotness. He just wants his life back. Enter Lola. She doesn’t mess around. She speaks her mind and isn’t a pushover. She could care less that he’s royalty and he loves that. It will break your heart when Garrett finally breaks down and shares his awful experience. It made me dislike the father even more!!!
A wonderful, heartfelt romance.
“Sweet and steamy romance between a royal prince and an American entrepreneur. The characters are delightful and the romance between them are light, sweet and deep all at once. It was hard to put it down once started. Highly recommended.
I will not restate the plot nor reveal any spoilers in this review.
I have read 1000s of books and have a small handful that I call my favorites and ROYAL TREATMENT BY Tracy Wolff has just become part of my elite reading! This status is reserved for books that I will read again when I need a forever love story to pick up my spirits. This story is laugh out loud funny and wonderfully romantic. But above all, this story pulls the heartstrings. I wept as the book approached its conclusion because the characters were so real. The hurt, pain and anger expressed by Garrett was written so powerfully that I felt his despair. Lola is quirky and funny but, most importantly, understanding of the emotional upheaval that the prince experienced. There are many outside influences that prey on this couple but through it all, love overcomes them and makes the two stronger.
This is the first book I have read by Tracy Wolff but she has become one of my favorite authors. Read ROYAL TREATMENT for a wonderfully written romance with heart!
After reading Royal Pain I was so anxious to get Garrett’s book – he was bound to be dealing with a lot after his kidnapping and Wolff delivered.
Although I was a little surprised that Garrett’s dad didn’t show up more. We get some conversations about him and a couple with him but he never actually appears. And with how much of an a** he is to his kids, creating a LOT of issues along the way, I would have expected more. Not that his actions don’t have consequences that are in play here – they are and often – but I wanted more like we got with Kian’s book.
Instead, Garrett is mostly (and totally understandably) dealing with the fallout from his months spent being tortured and his recovery afterward. He’s been struggling and it takes meeting an in-your-face rule breaker to throw him off his game and out of his head. As a bit of her free spirit rubs off on him, Garrett starts to really feel again … which also opens him up to the possibilities of finally coming to terms with what has happened to him in the last year. It won’t be pretty but it is definitely needed.
I found Lola to be fun and sassy. She’s got a big personality but she’s not overwhelming and I never found her to be overdone. Instead she’s brash, but caring. And totally not intimidated by Garrett’s title. She definitely doesn’t let him get away with too much and instead helps him find his way back to the land of the living.
I will say that I got annoyed at the both a couple of times as they spent too much time beating themselves up for the exact same thing. Something would happen and they’d both start taking responsibility and offering verbose apologies. Before kissing and making up of course. It wasn’t horrible but I would find myself thinking “ugh, get over yourself” a time or two 🙂
While I don’t think the daddy issues (for either of them) were properly resolved, I am pleased with the way Wolff handled Garrett’s issues. He’s good at bottling things up and hiding behind his princely mask, but he was never going to get better until he finally opened up about his feelings. It took someone coming in from the outside who could give him the care & understanding he needed and I’m glad Wolff gave him Lola for that.
*** I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else’s. ***
Royal Treatment by Tracy Wolff is Book Two in the His Royal Hotness series. This is the story of Lola and Garrett. I have read the previous book and feel this can be a standalone book if you choose to do so.
Garrett is a Crown Prince of Wildemar but was kidnapped and torchered for 8 months. Of course this changed Garrett and now his family is unsure of him and his mindset. Garrett is on his own other than his security team when he happens to meet Lola. Lola too has had such a great start to her life but is working toward her goal of her career and business which is what has brought her to the area. I really enjoyed reading how these two came together. I was rooting for Garrett after his treatment and I wanted Lola to find happiness too.

Mary –
Prince Garrett, His Royal Hotness, was the crown prince. After he was kidnapped, he had time on his hands to get his mind right, so his father the king thinks. But all Garrett wants to do is forget what happened and move on with his life.
Lola is an American girl who owns her own multimillion-dollar internet vintage clothing company. She meets Garrett one day while he is swimming and when she acts like she doesn’t know who he is, he seems to be relieved. But everyone knows who Garrett and his twin brother are.
While Lola tells it like it is and Garrett is proper in every way, they do not seem to be the couple kind of people. But after one date, the people of Wildemar are thrilled Garrett has found such a string woman. So the PR people at the palace wants to use the couple idea to help Garrett get his crown prince status back.
So now while Garrett and Lola are playing the couple, will their feelings for each other grow stronger? Can Lola play the part without losing her heart? Will Garrett finally lose his cool and release all the pain of his kidnapping, so he can finally heal?
I loved the first book, but Garrett and Lola stole my heart. The way he fought to keep his pain hidden and wanting to get his status back until he realized that wasn’t all that mattered in life. It was the perfect way to get his life back on track. And Kian will always be Kian, the fun loving second brother.
If you love a great royal romance with a twist, this one is more about the prince than the Cinderella story, then this series is for you. I loved both stories and would even love more. And if you haven’t read anything from Tracy Wolff yet you should and pick anything from her, you will not be disappointed.

This is the second book in the series (I would love there to be more) and I would recommend that you read them in order. Royal Pain introduced us to younger twin Kian, who has been the playboy of the duo. He suddenly had to step up when his brother, Garrett, is kidnapped, which was not the easiest transition. Now we get to read Garrett’s story on his return to the kingdom.
I really enjoyed this book – it had the requisite fairy tale elements but was most definitely not shying away with the difficult times that Garrett is having returning to normal life. His father, the king, has severely undermined his self-respect as he has insisted that Kian remains the crown prince, inferring that Garrett is incompetent. After the strength he showed under torture, this is just destroying him. A distraction in the form of a beautiful, wily, and funny woman called Lola might just be the answer in more ways than one.
Watching Garrett and Lola dance the dance, even under the circumstances that they have agreed to, and as they realise how much they care about each other is a mixture of sexy, fun, and also frustrating. Add in the fallout from the abduction, and we get a very engaging story of two seemingly very different people, who actually have a lot more in common than you would imagine.
Thank you, Ms. Wolff, for a fresh perspective on royal romances.

I am genuinely bummed I didn’t read Royal Pain first but don’t worry. The heir and the spare gave me a pass as long as I catch up. So without further delay…
Royal Treatment!!!
Talk about a tough act to follow, it seems Ex-Crown Prince Garrett is living it up while hiding in the shadows. Living it up isn’t actually the way I’d describe it, hiding definitely is. Hiding from his dad, the ridiculous pressure, and his own hateful thoughts. Surviving isn’t easy.
Surviving when you lost friends is terrible but the icing on the cake is definitely being blamed for being abducted and subsequently the deaths of your friends.
Garrett isn’t sharing his thoughts or feelings. He’s hiding from it all. Until a striking red head messes up his plans…
Now he’s just trying not to look like a love sick puppy! And it looks real good on him! Gorgeous Garrett has met his match. Now let’s hope he can keep her…
Despite some dark flashbacks, this book is the makings of a fairytale. It’s just missing woodland creatures, a wicked witch (okay, well they have that covered), and a wedding. Or is it!?!
Royal Treatment is a feel good sweet story with chemistry and a perfect read for my rainy day.
This was a great follow up to the first book in this series! I loved Kian, but Garrett was so broken and injured that I couldn’t help but love him more!
When Garrett sees the little spitfire chewing out one of his security detail he’s drawn to her but as their interaction continues he’s more than drawn. No one treats him like she does. And he’s all over that! It’s been nine months since the rescue from his abduction where he was tortured. He’s still trying to find some kind of healing but it’s not going so well. It doesn’t help that his father, the King, has taken away Garret’s right to the throne because of the mistreatment he received during his captivity.
Lola is a free spirit. Raised by a single mother and ignored by her father, she’s found a little niche for herself in the world of fashion. What she refuses to do is give any man the power to ever leave her and break her heart again. When Garret charms her into a date and one scorching hot kiss, she’s more amiable to the crazy plan he presents to her. They will work together to gain the throne back to its rightful heir.
I loved all the ins and outs of this couple’s relationship. Both had past issues to get through and neither are capable of opening up about it. Garret’s were definitely the worse but he’s hidden his pain and emotional trauma so well that those around him, minus Lola, don’t realize how “damaged” he really is.
Lola was such the perfect counterpart for Garret and he was so charming and fun, refusing to let go. A bit of a beta hero he was transformed by Lola’s attitude toward life, problems and him. This was a well paced read with great secondary characters, Kian and Savvy from book 1 play quite a bit of a role, and steamy in all the appropriate parts.
Definitely one you want to check out if you like some royal romance!
I highly recommend Royal Treatment by Tracy Wolff. It is the second book in the His Royal Hotness line, but can be read as a standalone book. This is the story of Prince Garrett and Lola. Royal Treatment is a complicated romance between a prince and peasant. The peasant likes her life exactly the way it is but the Prince wants what the Prince wants and he always gets his way!
The main character Lola Barnes is a beautiful American and a single entrepreneur who runs her own business. She loves her job as a buyer and seller of vintage clothing. Raised by a single mom somehow she has made it as far as she has on her street smarts and grit. She is in Wildemar on a buying trip without any plans to meet his Royal Hotness, Prince Garrett. But once she sees him, SWOON!
Prince Garrett of Wildemar is still recovering from a kidnapping and brutal torture. He’s dealing with the loss of his dreams, the recovery from his horrible ordeal and then he meets LOLA! He is immediately mesmerized by her beauty and her attitude. No one had ever spoken to him the way she does and he loves it! He becomes obsessed with Lola and eventually the press discovers the Prince’s romance and then they are both on an adventure to avoid the paparazzi.
Lola’s need for independence has guided most of the decisions she makes in her life. She really likes Prince Garret but is scared to take a chance at love. Prince Garrett has a breakthrough with his PTSD and recovery during this time and really comes into his own! He becomes more than a victim. My one complaint in this book is that I wish I knew more about his kidnapping and what had happened to him. Even though this can be read as a stand-alone novel, I’m going to read the first book in this line, Royal Pain, to see if it provides more details about the kidnapping.
4 stars
**Review by Kara, Late Night Reviewer for Up All Night w/ Books**
Absolutely wonderful! Gorgeous Garrett is everything you want in a Prince and more. After being kidnapped and held captive for three months he has been rehabbing for the past nine months and bored out of his mind, especially since his father has deemed him now unworthy to be the crown Prince. His entire life has been about him being the Crown Prince and now after his abduction his father thinks he is not worthy. Lola Barnes crosses his path, or his beach, and her sassiness is something he cannot deny and finally something intrigues him. Their instant chemistry and fence jumping evening walk and ending with a smoldering kiss goodnight which is caught by a photographer and splashed across the papers by morning. This leads to so much fun and frolicking and a couple is born. They were meant for each other and Lola was just what Garrett needed to help him heal. This was beautifully written and I highly recommend it.
4.5 Stars
Garrett was the heir apparent to the throne of Wildemar, being groomed for the position for as long as he could remember. That all changed after he was kidnapped and tortured. Now his twin brother Kian is being positioned to take the throne and he is doing all he can to assume the position of family black sheep. He breaks things off with his bethrothed and tries on the jetsetting playboy price role, but it doesn’t quite fit. When he meets the feisty American, Lola, what starts as a one-night turns into something much more complicated when the press gets ahold of the story. Garrett is getting used to his more recent scandalous press, but this may be harder to get out from under. Lola may not be as innocent and sweet as the public believes, but she has an image to maintain. How can he untangle himself from Lola without ruining both of their public images and more importantly, does he really want to?
I enjoyed the first book about Kian, but Garrett was even more enjoyable for me. I was intrigued by what we saw of him in book one and he did not disappoint. I always have had a soft spot for a troubled hero and Garrett is dealing with lots of trauma after what he went through. Lola was so perfect for him. There was just enough drama happening to make the road to their happily ever after interesting.
4.25 stars–ROYAL TREATMENT is the second instalment in Tracy Wolff’s contemporary, adult HIS ROYAL HOTNESS erotic, romance series. This is Garrett, the former crown-prince of Wildemar, and American on-line fashion sales promoter Lola Barnes’ story line. ROYAL TREATMENT can be read as a stand alone but for cohesion and backstory I recommend reading the series in order.
NOTE: If you have not read book one –ROYAL PAIN-there may be some spoilers in my review.
Told from dual first person points of view (Lola and Garrett) ROYAL TREATMENT follows the building relationship between former crown prince of Wildemar Prince Garrett, and American on-line fashion sales promoter Lola Barnes. While in Europe, scouting out vintage and name brand clothing American Lola Barnes will come face to face with the former crown prince of Wildemar Prince Garrett-a bruised, battered and beaten soul who months earlier had been kidnapped, tortured, and starved by a fringe militia group claiming to want the destruction of the Royal family. Seven minutes older than his twin brother Kian (Royal Pain #1) Garrett was targeted in an effort to disrupt the succession to the throne. Meeting flamboyant and strong-willed American fashionista Lola Barnes began a slow break-down of the demons controlling our hero’s life. Garrett will offer Lola a chance of a lifetime to play the ‘fake’ girlfriend to his battered prince, a relationship that turns into something more. What ensues is the building romance between Lola and Garrett, and the potential fall-out as the paparazzi take aim at our story line heroine, and a promise from the King if Garrett is willing to let go of the woman with whom he is falling in love.
Prince Garrett struggles in the face of dark memories, PTSD, and the ongoing humiliation of losing his position as heir to the Royal throne. Believing Garrett to be damaged and compromised, the King revoked Garrett’s birthright by naming Garrett’s twin Kian as the next in line to wear the crown. Lola Barnes is a successful, online business owner, a business that gives her the opportunity to travel the world. A brash and combustible American woman, Lola takes Garrett out of his comfort zone in an effort to show our hero what it is he has been missing and wants.
The relationship between Garrett and Lola is one of immediate attraction but Lola is in Europe on business, a temporary lay-over in Wildemar is about to change her life forever. Garrett has become a bit of a man-wh*re while recovering from his traumatic ordeal. Meeting Lola Barnes sets Garrett on the path to self-discovery, with the knowledge that there is more to his life than wearing a crown. The $ex scenes are erotic, passionate and intense.
ROYAL TREATMENT is a story of family, friendship, betrayal and love. The premise is heartbreaking and impassioned; the romance is sexy and seductive; the characters are colorful, dynamic and exciting. ROYAL TREATMENT looks at one man’s recovery, and one woman’s ability to break through and destroy the demons that control his mind and his heart.
Lola Barnes is a free-spirited, independent woman, who owns a clothing business, where she buys and sells vintage clothing. She came from meager beginnings, was raised by a single mother who taught her how to stay true to her beliefs, and gave her the tools (street smarts) to make a successful life for herself. She is not rich by any stretch of the means, but she does well for herself, and that is just fine by her, she honestly wouldn’t have it any other way. While in Wildemar on a shopping excursion, she comes across a gorgeous hunk who not only infuriates her, but also comes equipped with a charming side that lures her in for a night on the town… not realizing that said “one night” is about to turn her quiet little life upside down!
After being kidnapped, beaten, and dethroned Prince Garrett of Wildemar is completely at a loss, he always thought he be in charge, but once was returned home, his father took his crown from him and passed it onto his brother. He is beyond ticked about losing his crown, and is determined to show his father that he is worthy of the title, and will do just about anything to make it a reality. So when he spots a feisty little redhead giving his security a run for their money at the pool one afternoon, he thinks she may just be a step in the right direction. So he finds out her name, and goes in search of the beauty caused this stirring in his belly that won’t subside… and winds up finding the answer to all his prayers!
Royal Treatment is a heartfelt and entertaining tale that is sure to have romance readers falling in love as soon as their eyes hit the first page! This one was a refreshing change of pace for me and unlike anything I have read in a while. It was an engaging, emotional, steamy, funny, and a whole lot of fun to devour! Highly recommend it!!
