I will protect her at all costs… whether she likes it or not.Once upon a time, I threw a princess over my shoulder and carried her out of a bar fight.Jessa has carried that grudge ever since. Hates my guts. She’s uncooperative on her best days. Feisty. Stubborn. It’s adorable. Not a word I’d ever tell my best friend, of course. Because she’s his little sister. The plan was royally simple. Go … was royally simple. Go undercover and protect her. Seeing as it’s all I want to do already, it should have been the easiest assignment of my life. But of course, she is determined to cause trouble. And all the forbidden temptation manhandling her entails.
The stakes are too high to mess this up.
The monarchy is at risk.
And so is my heart.

Thou Shalt Not Shag Thy Best Friends’ Sister…
Oooh, that’s a tricky one. Especially when the sister is not only as sexy and as hot as hades, but someone of royal interest, and the hero is meant to be covertly protecting her.
I haven’t read the first two duets in this royal series, but apart from some intriguing references to the past, I didn’t find it hard to come in with this book. That being said, I’m sorely tempted to back track, but I digress. While our hero is in protection mode, our leading lady is no delicate flower. Her recently passed, conspiracy theorist, seemingly unstable father has had her prepared for all sorts of scenarios, and when odd stuff starts happening around her, she’s instantly on guard. As a title, Royal Tease sounds like a light romance, but believe me when I tell you, it is not. There’s definitely some suspense in that there romance………..
I loved this book not only for the great story of Roone and Jessa, but for some of the most shallow of reasons. Firstly, I love that Ms Malone spells ar$e the way us Kiwis do, that’s a tick from me. I also loved that Roone preferred the original Top Gear series, and lastly, the underlying humour is spot on as far as I am concerned. Roone’s d!ck trying to out-think his brain?? I mean seriously, I was completely engaged!
Thankfully, going in I didn’t realise that this is a cliff-hanger, although looking at Nana Malone’s other books on the Royal Winston (haha, I collect antique china!) siblings, I should’ve realised. I generally hate cliff-hangers with the burning passion of a thousand suns, and would’ve missed out on a great and compelling full length read had I ignored the chance of an advanced reader’s copy. I loved it, and am giving it 4.5 Stars. Now I’m going off to yell at Ms Malone about that ending………..
Oh my CLIFFHANGER !!!!
Rooms and Jessa are perfect together but again lies surrounding King Cassias, will ruin whatever instant chemistry is there!
You will enjoy the chase beteeen these two but you will be left with your jaw hanging open when Jessa finds out the truth of both her royal blood line and the lies Roone has kept from her!
This book is a continuation of a series and should not be read as a stand alone .
Holy cow!! I adore this series and the first part of Jessa and Roones’ story did not disappoint. It was sassy and funny, sweet and romantic with just enough suspense to suck you in. Roones’ inner dialogue was epic. I was excited the Ariel is back. That ending, OMG. I need more…
“You turn up and she’s looking like she wants to shag you against the wall… then kill you praying mantis style.”
Oh what a delicious tale of intrigue and scorching chemistry. A royal bodyguard, guarding the long lost princess, unbeknownst to her, struggles with his feelings from day one. His bestfriend, the King would most certainly not approve so he desperately tries to ignore it. All that accomplishes is to annoy the ever loving heck out said princess.
The brooding, contrary man that is trying to steal her clients and manhandle her and tell her what to do. Arghhhh. A life on the run, from imaginary dangers, Jessa will not let anyone take away the gone she has finally built for herself. As the days pass though, Roone manages to crawl under her skin. Worm his way in. He no longer angers her the way he use too. That one kiss, she can’t forget. Who is she fooling. It’s against the rules. It can’t go anywhere. But she can only live in denial so long.
At the same time, enemies are coming from every direction, and Roone and Ariel, work overtime to figure it out. Everything is coming to ahead and you won’t believe where it ends! Definitely a must read for any lovers of action packed intrigue, a passion that scorches and is impossible to ignore and a delicious plot line that will hold you hostage right up until the last page!
Former SAS and Royal Guard Roone Ainsley goes undercover to protect the beautiful Jessa (the lost princess), find out who’s behind the conspiracy against the royal family, and bring her home. All while telling himself over and over again “I will not shag my best friend’s sister.” Publicist Jessa McLean is trying to break up a fight between a client and her colleague when the gorgeous Roone picks her up and carries her out of harm’s way. Jessa is shocked when she finds out Roone is her new neigbour, then at work, Jessa finds out Roone is her new account manager. Roone and Jessa are forced to be in each other’s company and they fight their growing attraction to each other. What happens when Jessa finds out the truth of who she is, and that Roone’s been keeping secrets from her? Note: this story ends on a cliffhanger.
Royal Tease is a funny, intriguing and action-packed story full of heat that will leave you wanting more
Swoony Roone finally gets his story. Tasked with keeping Princess Jessa safe Ariel and Roone embark on a journey to infiltrate all aspects of her life, love, work and friendship. While genuine friendship blooms between Ariel and Jessa the chemistry between Roone and the princess is off the charts. A heart stopping, cliffhanger ending left me on the edge of my seat and wanting more. I can’t wait for the next installment “Teasing the Princess.”
Five Teasing Stars!!
I need the next book right NOW! Gahhhhh……I love this series so much but these cliffhangers are killing me.
Royal Tease by Nana Malone is the 5th book in the Royal Series. This book is about the lost Princess. The sister of Sebastian and Lucas. They finally found her and Sebastian has sent his best mate Roone to watch over her.
Roone is on his mission for the King and Prince. Protect their sister who has no clue she is a Princess. What he wasn’t expecting was to fall for her. Time working together and sparing back and forth has only lit the fire between the two. These two go back and forth and it just ramps up the tension between them.
Jessa McLean has always been on the run, her father moved her over and over again. Secrets are found out and danger lurks around the corner. She always thought her Dad was just crazy but it’s all coming out that maybe she should of listened even more.
Roone needs to protect Jessa but once she hears the truth she knows she can’t trust Roone any longer. And now we wait for the next book.
Nana gives us everything we love in a romance.
Highly recommended.

Royal Tease (1 of 2 in the Royals United duet) is part of Nana Malone’s Royals series. I knew when I started this book that it was part 1 of 2. My brain understood this fact but my heart did not. As usual, Nana Malone writes a witty and engaging book that leaves you (eagerly) wanting more. I cannot wait for the conclusion to be released!
The lost princess has been found! Jessa is a smart woman with a steady career. Although her future looks bright, her past is a series of challenges. Her mother dies during her youth and she had to watch her father deteriorate from a mental illness. Always worried that people would come and take her away, Jessa’s father insisted on continual movement. This made it difficult for Jessa to form lasting relationships. What she will discover (after her father’s death) is that perhaps her father wasn’t as ill as initially perceived and there might be some truth to his delusions.
Roone is the swoon worthy guard assigned as the undercover protection for Jessa. He struggles with his own youth and, much like Jessa, has difficulty forming relationships. Roone’s mission is to keep Jessa safe. The problem is that his attraction to her is growing stronger each day. While he tells himself to stay professional, he is falling deeper the more time that they spend together. Will Roone finally find love?
From their initial meeting, sparks fly. Roone and Jessa have chemistry that blossoms through their arranged dates and close proximity. She challenges him and he loves it! Malone creates characters and dialogue that had me laughing out loud. The book has romance, intrigue, humor and is just plain fun to read. I highly recommend that you read Roone & Jessa’s story and join me in watching the calendar for the conclusion to this very entertaining story!
Royal Tease is book one in a new series by Ms. Malone. And despite knowing that, I wasn’t prepared for the cliffhanger at the end. So there’s your warning. Otherwise we find our characters trying to overcome childhood issues to find love and how to balance work and love.
Oh, the intrigue. Roone is undercover to guard Jessa. Jessa has no idea she needs protection. And despite Roone’s misgivings and requests, he has to do his job without letting Jessa know. That creates a bodyguard/royalty/work mashup romance mixed with opposites attract.
Roone and Jessa were interesting characters. I felt like the backstory and details were great, but were doled out very slowly. Though I’m sure it was with great thought, it left a lot of unknowns to the reader and felt like the essence of each character was just out of reach for understanding. Jessa is a hard working PR associate. She was dealt a lot of childhood uncertainties, but has overcome them to be a great person. Roone is a very capable Royal Guard, but rubs Jessa the wrong way when they first meet. He’s still chivalrous and interested; and despite knowing this is a work assignment, it’s hard to tell where the acting ends and the hormones start. I liked that Roone wanted to make the assignment known to Jessa from the beginning and work with her instead of leaving her in the dark.
The assignment for Roone sets up the duo for possible romance. And no matter how much Jessa fights the idea, the chemistry is there. The desire, innuendos, flirting, and attraction thrives despite their back and forth feisty banter. When the cameras finally go off and the two end up in the bedroom, it’s no surprise that Roone rocks Jessa’s world. Poor Ariel listening in!
The pace of the book was a bit up and down. The mystery of if and when Jessa would piece together the “princess” bit coupled with Roone’s unorthodox public relations craftsmanship…but the background details that made up their history was choppy and a bit awkward. You constantly know something is missing, and some is the mystery of the lost princess, but it’s more than that somehow and make it a bit rocky to read.
This book felt like part of a bigger novel universe, so I’m interested in going back to find other works by Ms. Malone so I can get some of the backstory that was alluded to. And I really want to know what happens, so of course I’m up for part two! I hate cliffhangers like this, and I want to know if they work out their pasts to create a future.

Nana Malone’s Royal Tease is the beginning of the end for Roone; Sebastian’s loyal bodyguard and best friend. Roone is sent undercover to protect the Lost Princess. With Ariel leading the mission, Roone is already a wreck. But, when he meets Jessa for the first time, he knows that he is going to have to fight to not end up like Penny, or worse yet like Lucas, in love and acting like a fool!
Jessa has been raised knowing how to defend herself and knowing how to run. Always thinking that her father’s mental illness was to blame for his extreme paranoia, Jessa starts to question whether he was truly insane. When a version of the truth is finally revealed to her, her first instinct is to run, and far, far away!
Like all of Nana’s books, Royal Tease will have you in stitches. Not only is it funny, it is suspenseful, romantic, emotional, and best of all…steamy!
I read an ARC of Royal Tease and willingly left this honest review.
I really loved the latest royal tale from Nana Malone! This book has everything you’ve come to expect from this author, the hot as he%^ body guard, the smart a@$ princess with a few twists (since she doesn’t yet know she’s a princess), there’s mystery, intrigue, and enough suspense to keep turning those pages! There is also a lot of humor, heart and a healthy dose of snark thrown in for good measure. If this is your first Nana Malone book, no worries, you can start here, though you will want to get the others since its a bunch of interconnected characters, if you’re like me anyway if you find an author that ‘gets you’ you’ll want to read them all. Its really fun and fast paced and she will suck you right in to her world. I can’t wait until the next one because I’ve loved Roone from the beginning and he deserves Jessa and a HEA! I loved his inner struggle in this one with a truth he couldn’t tell. Who hasn’t been there? His agony and guilt over it was so relate-able and I’m super interested to see how Jessa will react to the truth.
This is probably my favourite in the royals series so far, but it’s so hard to choose. I loved Roone’s struggling with his moral code, and Jessa’s paranoia. It’s as well written as ever, but Ariel and Roone’s rapport just made this epic for me Great character work, beautiful writing, I was sucked right in. After the ending, I have no finger nails left…. Can’t wait to see where the author will take this….
Omg I love how Roone tried to fight his feeling for princess. Princess never trust anyone and when she did they lied to her and now her world is fall apart and do not who to trust. Will Roone be to explain why he did what me did or is he going to lose her or is she going kill him or Will the princess going to seek out her brothers for help. Can not wait for the next book of the royal
OMG! This book had me laughing, crying and swooning the whole time! Roone finally gets his book, and boy is it a doozy. He never knew that falling, and falling real hard, would be so complicated. Jessa on the other hand faught it tooth and nail. She wanted no part of Roone. Then things changed and she couldn’t get enough of him. The funniest parts of this book, to me, were when Roone talked to……. his friend, and his friend spoke back. Had me laughing so hard, that my family thought I was watching tv. There was a suspenseful part of this story and the pieces were slowly falling into place. However, we don’t get to see how it’ll plays out until the next book. Hopefully Nana won’t make us wait to long! It’s jst that good!
Holy cow! With that ending I’m so ready for Teasing the Princess to be here. I’ve liked Roone since the first set of Royal books about Seb & Penny & he just got better in Lucas & Bryna books. I’m so glad that he finally gets his own set of books!
Wow. Every new book in this Royals series I think this is my fav. I cannot choose, clearly.
This is book 1 in the 3rd Royals duet.
1st / Royals Undercover Duet (cheeky royal & cheeky king)
Sebastian & Penny
2nd/ Royals Undone Duet (Royal Bastard & Bastard Prince)
Lucas & Bryna
Roone. Roone. Roone.
Love this guy. While this could be read as a stand-alone, I highly recommend going back to first and starting there.
Trusty royal guard. Best friend to the King and Bastard Prince. He’s been sent to protect, without telling her the truth mind you, the lost Princess.
Going back a bit. Sebastian has 2 half siblings that he found about as an adult. Jessa is the lost princess and she has no idea.
Enter Roone & Ariel. Born royal guards. Both sent as a team to protect her from an anonymous threat.
I loved Roone’s story. Every second. He’s such a great guy. And so likable. He handles Jessa perfectly and at first i was confused on his method, but it clicked and made perfect sense.
GREAT writing.
Awesome plot
Reminder it’s a duet so it ends on cliffhanger.
Highly recommend. It’s fabulous.
Nana Malone
Jessa and Roone! Talk about chemistry! They are combustible!! What a great book that ends with a hell of a cliffhanger! I loved it and can’t wait to read the next book in the Royals United series!
