ROYAL SAVAGEI CAN’T CLOSE MY EYES… I refuse to. Every time I do, all I see is blood, death, and pain. I can feel it – almost taste it, bringing me back to that night. It doesn’t matter that I’m still breathing; I no longer need it, I no longer want it. I despise it along with everything else around me. The only thing I long for is to fu@king fade away. I’ve given up. Until her at least… least…
AVALON.
She comes into my world, knocking me on my a@s.
It turns me on to have her around me. Makes me want to wrap my hand around her tight little throat and fu@k her until she feels my pain, feels the monster in me, but also makes me want to protect her from the very thing that she should be afraid of… me.
Once she sees the damage that I’m capable of; she’ll look at me like everyone else around me does: with fear.
AVALON KNIGHT
HIS EYES… THE DARKNESS IN them draws me to him, making me want to taste him, feel him… and save him. I shouldn’t have gotten on the back of his motorcycle that day. I know that now. Colton warned me. I was told it was dangerous. I was told that nothing would be the same. He was right.
ROYAL is dangerous, dark, and seductive; the very thing that keeps me hanging on, willing to give my last breath just to touch him… breathe him in.
He’s savage, inked, and highly captivating. So different from his brother…
He’s hazardous to my health, mind, and body, yet the only thing that I crave. I want to free him. I want to change his mind, but I’m afraid that he’s already too faded…

So are there words that can’t describe this book. My heart was actually racing at points, I was gripping my shirt, and at a loss for words. I was hit with a bombshell in them middle of this book, that brought tears to my eyes. Very well written, great building of the relationship between the characters. Not a dull moment. You actually go through the motions with this books and each character.
One of my faves from VA!
This book is hot!
One of my new favorites! This book has it all, from hot steamy sex, to fierce action and deep pain, to a new beginning. Absolutely looking forward to the next in the series!
Where do I start! Victoria Ashley is a master writer of delicious romance filled with gorgeous man candy alpha males and beautiful, strong heroine.
Just the name Royal Savage is a definite turn on! The way he is described, melts panties!!!!
Avalon, is beautiful. She accidentally meets Royal at a friends house party. When she see’s him he is shirtless, tattooed and on an exercise bar doing sit ups!! Their eyes meet, instant attraction. But, she is rushed out and she and her friend have to leave.
Just like all her books, this storyline hooks you in, and I cannot stop reading. Royal has a tough past, and it still haunts him. He wants to put distance between himself and everyone around him. But, Avalon changes all that, without him knowing it yet, it will be for his good! Lot’s of action, steamy attraction, sexy love scenes.
I love her books, I can’t get enough. This is a must read and a guaranteed 5 star read!
Loved this book. Really got into the main characters and their emotions. Hghly recommend.
This was a really good book! If you like brody alpha men then this book is for you!
I has hooked for the entire book! Great storyline and loved the characters! I really felt for Royal and what his family did was just horrible!
This book was amazing i literally read the whole book in one shot i couldnt put it down i needed to know what happens next and i kept turning the pages to find more and all a sudden i was done didnt even realize how i read the whole book!!! Trust me its that good
This book did not disappoint! Best written book I’ve read this year, with heart gripping characters and an endearing bad boy.
I loved this story. A mix of bad-boy dark and traditional HEA ending. I loved Royal’s character. Such a beautiful broken man, who suffered great loss that has led his life down a dark path. He finds Avalon and begins to see light in his dark world. Motorcycles, tattoos and bad boy angst. Loved it!
This has to be one of the best books that I have read in awhile. Royal and Avalon were one of the best couples that I have ever read. Great story line from start to finish. I hope the next book in this series is just as good
Royal fucking Savage!!!!
Oh my god where do i start… and how many pairs of knickers must Victoria Ashley force me to go through with all her hot as fuck male characters!!!!!
Massive kudos to Victoria Ashley for once again writing something that ticked all the boxes!
~ there was angst
~ there was sex (grade A hot as fuck sex)
~ there were tattoos (always a winner)
~ there was a completely NOT annoying female character…something that seems to be a bit of a rarity these days
Most and best of all tho… there was a broken guy who didnt know he was searching for something to live for and waiting for someone to help fill the hollowness of his heart!!! #sigh
Royal was so gooood!!!!
Hard and rough in the sack and then gentle and considerate in the little ways that count!
He was all possessive…even tho he hated himself for it….he was conflicted and torn but with the best intentions…..urghhhh he was just so…HOT!!!!
His story was heart breaking pretty much from the first page….and i really never wanted it to end!
Avalon was cool….i liked her in the book…she wasnt half arsed or wishy washy….yeah Royal was a lot to take in but she took it all in stride and in the end she fought for her man!!!!
oh and just quietly…Epilogue heaven…thats where this one belongs!!!!!
oh yep sorry did i forget to mention that there is a 30 something sexy cop Uncle who all Avalons friends wanna bang!!!! Whoops…my bad!!!!
OOoooohhh or how about the other 2 best mates who sound hotter than should be legal….oh yeah book two i am waiting for you Jax!!!!!
or the slightly slutty best friend who has her nest friends back and provides a great level of humour throughout the pages as well….
Honestly tho…Victoria Ashley never fucking disappoints. ..like ever!!!
I wanna curl up and cover myself in her words forever…like a fucking big blanket of alpha hot sexy manliness….she just gets it…everytime!!!!!
Do yourself a favour and get all up in Royal Savage….defo a 6 star read!!!!!

I picked this up a few weeks ago. It must have been on sale or something because contemporary romance purchases do not happen very often on my Kindle account. I remember seeing the cover on Facebook, and once I was done wiping the steady stream of drool from my chin, I one-clicked that shit.
Yesterday, I worked straight through to 7pm with no breaks, so at the end of the day, writing was the last thing on my mind. I hit up my Kindle library in search of something to read and found the cover again.
Like, seriously?!? Can someone point me in the general direction of where they are growing boys that look like him??? I’m there. I’m so there.
Anyway, I cracked ROYAL SAVAGE, read the first chapter, and I was sold. The first chapter drops you in the middle of a horrific scene, with little-to-no detail about what’s happening. You just know it is *not* good. As hooks go, that first chapter is a damn good one!
I loved Royal. He’s a tiny bit scary and a whole bunch of hotness. He’s covered in tattoos, rides a Harley, swears too much, looooooooves his whiskey, and smokes like a fuckin’ chimney. Basically, he’s every bad choice I’ve ever made in a relationship. lol AND I LOVE HIM, DAMMIT.
Avalon is a decent character as female leads go. The biggest problem I have with contemporary romance is I usually hate the female lead. I dont like distressed damsels because they usually come off as stupid and helpless. Ava is anything but either of those. She’s strong, a teency bit stubborn, and she’s just reserved enough to not be a ho, but she also doesn’t throw a prude vibe either. She’s likable all the way around.
The side characters are the shit, too. I love the boys at Savage & Ink. I didn’t know this book was the start of a series until I started to draft up this review. I really hope we’re going to get a Jax book. When this book started, I thought Jax was going to be a main character. I didn’t read the synopsis before I started reading Royal Savage so it could have been about termites and I would have bought it with that boy’s face on the cover. He’s certainly part of the main cast, but he’s this book is not his story. He’s just in it enough to make every girl who reads the book turn into a gooey pile of lady mush at the mention of his name…..
I think Blaine’s book might be a little bit too ridiculous for me. He’s a whore. Like, a great, big, slutty slut-faced whore. His libido definitely steers the bus most of the time. That being said, I could be way wrong. Who knows? His book could be amazing because he’s got a really sweet side we catch a few brief glimpses of in this book.
The story is tight. There are no plot holes that stuck out to me, and I read this in one long sitting, starting it at around 9:00pm and reading THE END at approx 3:00am. There are only a few token contemporary romance conveniences. You know what I’m talking about. The conversations or situations that line up too perfectly, way too fast to be even remotely realistic. However, the conveniences in this book are relatively small compared to most contemporary romance.
There are a couple of twists you will not see coming until they’re staring you in the face, and there are at least three scenes that will reduce you to a useless puddle of estro-laced tears. For real, keep the tissues handy. All of those parts are in the second half of the book, but when you hit one, you’re going to be struggling to see your page/ereader.
One warning I will give you is if you are a FREAK about the technicality of proper writing and you demand a typo-free zone, you’re going to twitch if you read Royal Savage. Personally, this does not bother me. I’m looking for a good story and Royal Savage has that on lock. However, Royal Savage is very much written in a conversation tone (as if one friend telling it to another), and there are typos throughout the whole book. Not a lot, but I caught at least 10-15 of them, and, as ridiculous as it may be, that’s a deal breaker for some people.
Overall, this was a great read. I am super-picky about contemporary romance. It’s not a genre I tend to gush over (urban fantasy readers, REPRESENT!), so when I come across a book I couldn’t put down, it has to be pretty exceptional. If you’re a fan of Kendall Ryan, you’d probably love Royal Savage by Victoria Ashley.
This book had me on the edge of my seat half the time and fanning myself the other! Ms. Ashley has a way with words that makes her characters not only come alive, but endear themselves to you. Definitely a must read if you’re looking for a gritty, sexy, heart-grabbing read!!
This book was hard to put down! Royal meets girl when she pops into his room looking for a bathroom. She just can’t stop herself, his eyes are all she can think about.
Will Royal and Avalon find comfort in each others arms or will Royal literally screw thing up?
I have read this book 3 times now and each time it guts me, I had deleted it from my kindle to make room for new books but downloaded it again for the 3rd time so I could connect for when Beautiful Savage came out which is book 2 in the Savage and Ink series,
I’m once again dumb struck how can a book still have that effect on me on the 3rd time of reading VICTORIA ASHLEY!! This book my god has touched me over and over again! Seriously, I still get so emotional reading this. It is a devastatingly raw and painful book filled with so much sadness you can taste it and for me that is the heartbreaking fact , but it also left me somewhat healed but not before being thoroughly broken by Royal’s story!
I wanted to crawl through the pages wrap Royal in my arms just to ease some of his pain, but it’s just a book I hear people say, well yes and no sometimes a book can reach inside a place that no one else knows about but you and triggers all kinds of emotions this book did that for me.
Royal struggles to deal with his pain in the only way he knows how and his pain is demanding to be let free. Royal has more than his fair share pain and heartbreak in his life so he struggled when Avalon came into his life. She sees feels his pain she sees the struggle, she sees HIM.
This story took me on an emotional journey, with a lot of tears, but it was so worth it.
ROYAL SAVAGE is a story about a man who has lost everything that mattered until the day Avalon Knight walked into his life.
Royal’s nights and days are shrouded in demons from his past; I identified with his dark memories that can shatter what little semblance of control you think you have over your life, So it is these memories that pushed him to act out against anyone who crosses his path.
Royal is the ultimate bad body; the tall, dark, troubled, and tatted bar owner/ tattoo artist who is fiercely protective of the people he loves but those people are few and far between. Royal is a man estranged from his family, who wants to be left alone, to brood in his grief and need for revenge.
Avalon Knight is a reformed bad girl; a hair stylist whose personal life is wrapped up in boredom and a man whose sexual prowess leaves much to be desired. But the day Avalon accidentally walks into the bedroom of a man who exudes danger and power, is the day Avalon begins to reconsider what it is in life she truly wants. Royal is the man who sets into motion a need and desperation so deep that Avalon finds herself falling for a man who is unable to let go of the past. When Avalon gets too close, Royal walks away leaving a trail of destruction and tears in his path.
ROYAL SAVAGE was a heartbreaking story about a man who has suffered too much pain and loss, and survives only because of his need for retribution and vengeance. The book is staggering, riveting and dramatic; a roller coaster of emotions that intensify as the story line and relationship build. The characters are encouraging, tragic, passionate and heartbreaking; the romance is traumatic in its presentation. There are a couple of predictable twists and turns; and the introduction of Blain, Jax and Madison add much needed support and love. Victoria Ashley’s ROYAL SAVAGE will be remembered by me for a very long time. Like I said at he beginning this is the 3rd go round for me, and it still guts me, that to me is the mark of a true and wicked writer, to be able to tap into motions that you can feel taste and know them your self personally. I felt like I had been ripped apart from the inside out.
I truly don’t care what others say about my love of books and how some story lines literally rip your heart out
Thank You for an amazing book
and as you have the wicked and so handsome Josh Mario on the cover !! what more could you wantRoyal Savage
OMG!!!!!! ROYAL FUCKING SAVAGE!!!!!! HOT! HOT!! HOTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!
I cannot explain how much I loved this book. It was beautiful, dark, twisted, and heartbreaking. Royal’s pain twisted my own soul with all the torment and hurt he battled through. He let it consume him and eat him up inside. At the same time he was such a beautifully broken character and I love him so soo much. Avalon was also great, i just loved this girl because she was so understanding and never judged him. She accepted him for his faults and his past. Royal and Avalon were perfect for each other.
There was a point in this book where i actually wanted to burst into tears. It breaks you down and lifts you up. Everyone need to read this book. Victoria is an amazing writer, everything flowed beautifully and I could not and would not put this book down unless I absolutely had to. This may very well be one of my favorite books and now favorite author.
This book does deal with violence and death. Again I think it helps make this book raw and gritty. Royal is a tormented man after losing everything he held dear, but unexpectedly finds himself wanting Avalon. Something he didn’t thin he was capable of. I loved getting inside not only Royals head but Avalon’s as well. Gosh I just loved every page of this book. I could not get enough. I loved it.
Royal Savage is a tortured soul. Full of demons, hatred and a touch of self loathing. He blames himself for something huge in his past (no spoilers!!) and is surviving, not living. He hides out in his basement, he fights his demons nightly and lives for revenge.
Is that all he is? A damaged man on a mission to kill? Not even close, but you’ll have to read the book to see what else is hidden behind that beautiful tatted body.
Avalon or Ava or Marie to her prick boyfriend, is trying to be a good girl. She bored with her boyfriend of six months, he’s boring and thoughtless. Not what she needs but she’s trying really hard to be what he needs.
Until she meets Royal.
He’s the type she should avoid but she won’t.
When she sees his dark side it should scare her, she should run far and fast but she doesn’t.
She sees what he keeps hidden, things he doesn’t even recognize in himself anymore. She gives him hope and it’s something he doesn’t think he deserves nor does he want it so he leaves her.
Okay so there is a TON I’m leaving out of this review, why? If I keep going I will let something out that will spoil the book. Royal Savage is now tied with Something for the Pain as my favorite Victoria Ashley book. I drooled over the cover for weeks, but we all about judging a book by it’s cover. This cover and story were a perfect fit, no cover letdown while reading this one, he’s the perfect image of my Royal.
I have read and reviewed many biker books, especially on Amazon. Why I loved this story the most was: it had a vivid picture, a pain that felt real, and a sharp, passionate romance that was unlike anything I have ever read. This was especially true with its genre, more specifically it being an MC/ biker read. Part of my top 5 biker reads/re-reads.
Wow….just WOW. This book is AMAZING. I absolutely love the story between Royal and Avalon, but the best part…..OMG, the best part is…..oh I can’t tell you. You have to read this book!
