Tristan
I knew what I would get when I turned twenty-five.
A wife.
A monarchy.
And to be honest, I wasn’t sure I wanted either one of them.
Amelia
At twenty-three I knew it was my duty to serve.
A King.
The people.
The one thing I never counted on? Falling in love with my husband.
Tristan is set to become king when he turns twenty five. He also gets a wife in Amelia. He’s not sure he wants either one. Amelia knows her duty is to marry Tristan when he becomes king. She’s willing to do what she is expected to do. She just never expected the chemistry between them to be off the charts. Tristan was immediately protective, caring and kind to Amelia. I liked that about him. Amelia is no shrinking violet, she can hold her own. A really good story, looking forward to more in this series.

Royal Rebel
Haldonia Monarchy Book #1
By: Laramie Briscoe
*REVIEW*
Royal Rebel is a fairly straightforward story of the royal romance variety. Tristan is a royal, and marriage is upon him, arranged, of course. Amelia has been raised to be the perfect choice for an arranged royal union. She has lived her life in training to be a queen. Finally, at the culmination of a life’s work, Tristan and Amelia meet each other. I’m glad the author stepped a bit out of the trope box. The cocky playboy and wide eyed virgin full of angst routine is grating at this point. Instead, Tristan and Amelia actually connect with fondness and hope for a positive relationship. The story is a light enjoyable read with characters who are easy to love. Tristan understands that marriage is his duty, and he gets lucky with Amelia as his chosen bride. He is dashing and romantic, yet grounded and genuine. Amelia is interesting because she was raised unconventionally. Imagine being trained your entire life to be a suitable candidate for an arranged marriage. I don’t love the idea of this, but I understand the why of it. Amelia, fortunately, is not disappointed in Tristan. Going forward, this couple have a chance at lasting happiness. The question is whether or not they will survive the pits and perils of royaldom. Find out in this entertaining, romantic and charming story…but, don’t forget Royal Rebel is the first book in a series. I’m awaiting the next installment!
4.5-loved it stars!
Royal Rebel by Laramie Briscoe is a story about a royal arranged marriage and I absolutely loved it! Tristan and Amelia always knew they were to be married. He the future King and she the Queen that will stand beside him. When they meet their chemistry is instant and palpable, but could it be enough for a successful marriage with so much pressure? Tristan is coming into his own and though Amelia was raised to be Tristan’s wife, she is also her own person. I loved watching them get to know and open up to each other. But this is the first book is the first book in a new series, so more to come for sure!
Royal Rebel by Laramie Briscoe was sweet, charming and a great start to a new series! I am so excited to see what’s to come!
Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog.
Happy reading!
Every little girl’s Princess dream, mixed with modern day Royalty and of course, some delicious sexy time sums up this book. It flows easily and is sweet and lighthearted, but don’t let that fool you, Ms Briscoe is setting us up for next book, which I am sure is going to pack a punch. So excited for book 2
“I Voluntarily Received and Reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book”
From an arranged marriage to an absolute strong connection Tristan and Amelia broke the mold. Tristan is the bad boy royale until his 25th birthday when it has been arranged for him to marry Amelia. And Amelia is sweet, caring and considerate of everyone around her especially Tristan. Amelia has known she was betrothed to Tristan from an early age and she was groomed to be queen. But at their first meeting when Tristan turns 25 one kiss and sparks fly. Will their love story/romance develop into true and lasting love? I can’t wait for more Amelia and Tristan!!
Royal Rebel is the first story in The Haldonia Monarchy Series, I’m not sure what it is but whenever I read a Royal story I get a happy feel. I thought the story was straightforward, pleasing, and romantic. Prince Tristan and Amelia were a sweet and loveable couple. I liked how they had a instant connection towards eachother, same values and how they became eachother’s persons. I’m completely smitten with them. I can’t wait to read the next story, as this one was calm, so I’m predicting the next one could be utter chaos.
Royal Rebel by Laramie Briscoe is the First book in The Haldonia Monarchy Series. This starts the story of Amelia and Tristan. Tristan is to be King and with addition to that new title he must also take a wife to fulfill his job/title for the Kingdom of Haldonia. Not really sure he wants either but seemly having not choices. When he hasn’t found a wife the one that was chosen for him is the option he is giving. Amelia has been groomed to marry a King but she also has her own personality. When they meet their is an attraction and we read through their story. This does end with a somewhat soft cliffhanger.
Royal Rebel is my first foray into royal romance and it blew me away. Tristan and Amelia are future King and Queen to a small European nation. Their marriage may be arranged but the Love that develops is 100% real. I’m excited for what the next book will bring for these two.
This is the 1st in a new series and what a wonderful introduction this is. Tristan is the future king and when he meets Amelia who is his chosen bride, the chemistry is explosive. No spoilers’ this is a definite must read, you will not be disappointed. This is a well written sweet story which is about falling in love and the depth and growth which a relationship goes through. I was hooked and intrigued throughout and highly recommend for all.
This was an honest to goodness modern day fairy tale! Tristan and Amelia might be in an arranged marriage, something so archaic it is hard to wrap your mind around, but they couldn’t be more perfect for each other. I completely binged their story in one day; I couldn’t tear myself away. Simply amazing, Royal Rebel is romantic and swoonworthy, giving us a front row seat to the story of two people building a solid and real partnership. I can’t restrict my rating to 5 stars, Tristan and Amelia deserve more. All the stars for this royal couple!
Tristan is the next in line to become King and it is something he hasn’t exactly been looking forward to so he acts out and rebels in any way he can. Not only is he to become King he is also expected to be married and his future Queen has been picked for him and to say he is not too thrilled would be an understatement, he knows it’s his duty but he is also wishing for something deep or like love. This is where we are introduced to Amelia she has been groomed her whole life to be prepared to become the future Queen she is nervous, afraid of failure, and wonders what Tristan will think of her but this all stops when they meet and immediately have an instant attraction. They are introduced to the public as engaged and then swept away to Tristan’s home in the country to get to know each other better and this is pretty much the whole book them figuring each other out, falling in love, and spending the next 6 months learning one another. This is book 1 so there will be a book 2 and this book doesn’t end on a cliffhanger it actually ends on a high note of them on honeymoon, but with Tristan wondering if the stress of their lifestyle make them last or will something come in between them. I really enjoyed this read, it was sweet and simple spending time learning more about Tris and Lia.
I’ve never been one to pick Royal romances but I’m so happy I received Royal Rebel as advanced reader copy.
Tristan is the future king of Haldonia and since he has been unable to find a wife on his own, now on his 25th birthday the long arranged fiancee will step forward.
Amelia has been raised knowing she is to be the betrothed to Tristan. The time has now come and she and Tristan have 6 months to marry and Tristan be crowned King of Haldonia.
The book follows Tristan and Amelia meeting, sparks flying and beginning their journey to King and Queen. Without spoiling anything I loved reading their journey to finding love in an arranged marriage. I cant wait for Royal Chaos, to read Tris & Lia’s journey into being King and Queen.
What an absolutely delightful book. I love Ms. Briscoe’s writing style, I believe I have read all her books as she is one of my top Go To authors, and I am pleased to say Royal Rebel and the Haldonia Monarchy Series are another huge hit with this reader. Kudo’s Ms Briscoe for taking me to a far-away world where Princesses dreams just might come true – well to an extent that is.
Tristan is a young male who is destined to become King of his small country. But having suffered the tragedy of losing his mother when he was a teen, causing his father becoming distant and hurtful behind closed doors, Tristan has turned into quite the rebel. Custom says he must marry and take over the throne 6 months after his 25th birthday. If he has not found a wife of his choosing, then he is destined to marry the woman that was arranged for him when he was very young. A woman he has never even met.
The story basically starts as Tristan meets his soon to be wife, Amelia, for the first time the night of his 25th birthday. Both are nervous and apprehensive of what’s to come. But one look, one kiss sparks off a flame inside the couple. But can that turn into a love that will last, especially with the added pressures of ruling a country. The storyline follows the couple as they get to know one another at Tristan’s country home (away from the prying eyes of their people). It’s funny, romantic and almost like a fairytale life. Well until it’s time to return to the palace. I won’t give away any spoilers so I’ll just highly recommend grabbing up Royal Rebel. For this reader it was a phenomenal romantic start to what I believe is going to be a wonderful series.
2 Thumbs Up and 5 Heartwarming Stars.
Tristan and Amelia are one of the sweetest, swooniest and most enviable royal arranged marriages I’ve ever read about. I love everything about this couple, individually and together. You can’t help but want to cheer them on as they learn about one another and enter into their rule.
Can’t wait to see what’s next for them after this lovely romantic introduction!
Wow, what a great story. I couldn’t put it down once started. It had me hooked from first page. I had to know what was going to happen.
I loved Tristan and Amelia, I really enjoyed their build up in their relationship after being thrown in the deep end. They come together and conquer.
Laramie Briscoe did amazing job.
I can’t wait for more.
I’m not sure what I expected when I started this book but this wasn’t it. I’ve never read a Laramie Briscoe book quite like it. Normally I stay away from books about royalty as I find the characters to be selfish and cruel, but that was far from the truth with this book.
Tristin is a prince about to be crowned king and Amelia is the woman he is going to marry through an arranged marriage. Tristin is a rebel as the title suggests. He meets Amelia 6 months before their wedding, at the same time he will be taking over as king. This book follows them through those 6 months as they get to know each other and fall in love. They have instant chemistry and learn pretty quickly to trust each other like no other.
This is a sweet and sexy book with little conflict. I was a little disappointed that there wasn’t much conflict until I realized that there was another book in which there is sure to be much conflict judging by the title Royal Chaos.
I gave it four stars because although it was sweet and they are a great couple it was a bit repetitive and we didn’t get to see much more than a few different kinds of “scenes”. Also, the little bit of conflict in the book regarding Amelia wasn’t resolved and I would have liked it to have been before the wedding. Overall it was a good book and I look forward to reading the next one.
I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Royal Rebel is another amazing book from an awesome author, Laramie Briscoe. A captivating and endearing story from beginning to end. Loved Tristan and Amelia’s story. A must read if you are a fan of Royal Romances!I highly recommend this book!!!I can’t wait to find out what happens in the next book , Royal Chaos.
An interesting take on an arranged royal marriage that was well written. Amelia and Tristan are wonderful characters who have sizzling chemistry. I was drawn into their storyline and enjoyed the way they got to know each other and fall in love. I can’t wait to see what will come next in The Haldonia Monarchy series. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
3 1/2 stars
When Tristan sees Amelia for the first time and says, “Christ, you’re beautiful, and damn if you don’t look like an innocent.” I thought, holy moly this is going to be good. They have incredible chemistry for two people who had never met before and only knew each other through their family, their marriage having been arranging.
I quickly liked both of the lead characters and could easily relate to them, even though Tristan was going to be a king, his normalcy as a man first shone through. His need and almost thirst for love was understandable too. Amelia’s caring nature quickly captures his heart and theirs is a beautiful romance. The fact they have a physical heat that is extremely intense is a plus too.
I enjoyed this romance but found it a little repetitive at times which slowed the pace and flow of the story, and the reason why I gave it this rating. The relationship buildup I’m assuming is important for the second book, Royal Chaos, even the name suggests it’s going to be interesting. I look forward to seeing where this author goes with this story.

I have enjoyed reading snippits of Amelia and Tristan on Laramie Briscoe’s Patreon site and was excited to read their story from beginning to it’s current end. Tristan and Amelia just make me smile. Arranged or not they are so selfless with each other and together they make each other better. I absolutely cannot wait to read what they accomplish. Tristan is the swoony royal bad boy we all want. Amelia is the strong, sassy woman that Laramie Briscoe is known for creating. Together they will be a force to reckon with as they rule Haldonia with the support of their friends.
“I want to be the person to help you handle your stresses. I’m not here just for the good stuff, Tris. I’m here for everything. The good, the bad or the ugly. That’s what marriage and a relationship is about.” ~Lia
