Aura Nilssen’s life hasn’t gone at all according to plan. She’s the unwitting heir to a tainted throne, the recipient of not one but two unwanted legacies, and she’s on the hit list of every dark realm in the cosmos. But with weeks to go before her graduation from Alfheim Academy and official coronation as Queen, the reluctant royal thinks she can finally take a breath. She should have known … known better.
When her allies’ borders are breached, Aura knows it’s only a matter of time before Alfheim is attacked. And when dark powers move against her home, Aura and her friends set out to determine exactly who might be strong enough to overpower the light realms. With more than just Alfheim’s future on the line, Aura must decide how much she’s willing to sacrifice for the home she’s grown to love . . . and the warrior who’s claimed her heart.

This last book in the series is packed full of exciting action, suspense and thrills. Aura has her work cut out for her as she learns to co-rule with Queen Constance, continue her training, take her exams and protect the realm from dangers. A mysterious dark shadow poses a threat to both her and Idris’ realms, and dangerous old enemies are re-emerging. I really enjoyed the changes and growth in Aura, the development of her relationship with Viggo and how she came to terms with having both darkness and light within her. I also loved how the author gave each character their own strengths and talents and their own time to shine in the story. I really hope she does some spin off stories with these characters in the future because I would love to hear how Brea and Soap’s relationship develops. This book is filled with humour, friendship, tragedy, tension and touches of romance, it is a YA series well worth reading.
Wow what an amazing ending of a great trilogy. “Royal Rebel” by S.T. Bende was so full of every emotion as you read through. The ending of the conflict with the dark elves had me on my toes and so much happens. S.T. Bende does a fabulous job with bringing you into the story with her writing. The characters are all well developed, and you feel right along with them. Another wonderful ending of a great book. Don’t miss it.
Oh my goodness S.T. BENDE, you broke me with this book. I got choked up while tearing up. I hate to see this series ends because it is a favorite of mine. Well this one was really emotional and had some intense action. It all just happens in sequence and does not let up til the end. It finally comes down to the battle and what Aura will do? Do they ever find out who the specter is? There is action, friendships cemented, tragedy and happiness. Oh yeah and betrayals within the castle walls. Alliances are made and a new era will begin. I would definitely re-read this series again. S. T. Bende, Thank you for writing such amazing stories.
Aura and Viggo and the rest of the crew I’m going to miss them. This was a great conclusion to the Alfheim Academy series. It was action packed there was never a dull moment for the Alfheim crew. From school exams to kicking butt and taking names to formal dinners with Royal allies and a little bit of love and finding oneself along the way this book has it all.
Absolutely amazing! I loved aura and her crew, and a whole new look at bendes mythological world it was a wonderful ending to a great series!
In this thrilling conclusion to the Alfheim Academy Series, S.T. Bende exceeds expectations once again. Aura’s relationship with her Grandmother continues to deepen, she is learning more about leadership, whilst at the same time, learning to be the leader she desires to be for her people. It’s been a full year of relative peace for her people, but like the adage goes, “All good things . . .”, darkness begins to seep into the realm. Once again, Aura must lean on and depend on her friends to help her save her people, as well as those from other realms.
Now, don’t let the dramatic stuff fool you. Bende integrates the humor we love in her characters throughout this lovely story. I even laughed out loud, sadly, in a quiet library (I got shoosed), but it was worth it. Aura continues to grow as a character. Her flaw of isolating herself to save others may cost her everything, if someone doesn’t knock some sense into her. The answer comes from an unlikely source, which thrilled me to no end. I loved, once again, one of the sub-themes of how we have darkness and light within us all. We must balance those halves within us in order to stay whole. Also, two familiar characters from other series make brief cameos, that gave me bouts of smiles. Seriously, never has the envy been so strong within me to have the ability to fly with wings as the fae do, like this series has wrought. The book is lovely, romantic, suspenseful, tragic, and hilarious. S.T. Bende has the unique gift of having you crying on one page, and then laughing reading the next.
I look forward to her next book, as she continues to never disappoint. Truth and Light.
The final part of Aura’s story. She wants o get in and get things done for her family, friends, and realm. She is not particularly fond of the pomp and circumstance involved with being in charge. She is still very young and continues to shy away from anything to do with committing to her perfekt match.
This is the 3rd and final book in the Alfheim Academy series. I enjoyed this story and it held tons of action, friendships, love, and a bit of romance to keep me happy. I liked how Aura never faltered in her goals. Once she put her mind to something, she got it done (with the help from her friends) and did it the right way. She fought for what she believed in and showed a great amount of courage, no matter what was thrown her way.
I liked the secondary characters (her friends) as well. They’re a formidable group, each bringing something to the table to help Aura navigate her ever changing role of student, crown princess, co-regent, and queen. They’re a great group to have at your back when things go awry.
All in all, this was a good conclusion to the series. Thank you ST Bende for the copy. This is my honest review.
So happy with this ending
I love this series so much, Aura is an amazing young woman that had endure a lot of bad situation in her short life, but had remain strong and pure in spite of everything… Her friends are formidable, a strong force always having her back and whom play a key part of their sucess in saving Alfheim from the dark forces, trying to destroy its light… Romance, love, friendship, action, and a sweet HEA makes this book an amazing conclusion to this wonderful series, recommended!!!
This book didn’t disappoint. It had budding relationships and friendships, watching the events unfold was amazing and this author doesn’t disappoint in her world building. Overall this was a great book with lots of character!
Such a great ending to Auta’s story! Great pacing, attention grabbing, and amazing characters. You HAVE to read this series and author. Sad to see it end but loved how everything tied up nicely.
She did it again! Another amazing story that pulls you in and doesn’t let go until your in a book coma. This story has it all! It follows Arua’s journey with action and some romance that I truly enjoyed.
