Tristan
I knew what I would get when I turned twenty-five.
A wife.
A monarchy.
And to be honest, I wasn’t sure I wanted either one of them.
Amelia
At twenty-three I knew it was my duty to serve.
A King.
The people.
The one thing I never counted on? Falling in love with my husband.
Real Romance is possible, if you are a Royal. Well, at least it is in Haldonia. Soon to be King, Tristan, has been arranged to wed the sweet, Amelia. Both are determined to make a go of their arrangement and soon find much more than they expected of one another. The romantic scenes and the couple’s chemistry are off the chart in this novel. If you following the Royals, don’t miss out on The Future King of Haldonia.
3 1/2 stars
When Tristan sees Amelia for the first time and says, “Christ, you’re beautiful, and damn if you don’t look like an innocent.” I thought, holy moly this is going to be good. They have incredible chemistry for two people who had never met before and only knew each other through their family, their marriage having been arranging.
I quickly liked both of the lead characters and could easily relate to them, even though Tristan was going to be a king, his normalcy as a man first shone through. His need and almost thirst for love was understandable too. Amelia’s caring nature quickly captures his heart and theirs is a beautiful romance. The fact they have a physical heat that is extremely intense is a plus too.
I enjoyed this romance but found it a little repetitive at times which slowed the pace and flow of the story, and the reason why I gave it this rating. The relationship buildup I’m assuming is important for the second book, Royal Chaos, even the name suggests it’s going to be interesting. I look forward to seeing where this author goes with this story.
A great royal romance about an arraigned marriage that actually starts with affection and love. Amelia has always known she was promised to Tristian if he hasn’t found a woman to marry before his 25th birthday. He knew this is well. BUT, they’ve never met. How odd, right???
I hate that this appears to be book 1 of a ‘to be continued’ story. (I only like these when all the books have already been released.) So now I have to patiently wait for the next story: this is hard for me!
Overall, I do recommend this one. Laramie is a great storyteller!
I have been a fan and a reader of Ms. Briscoe’s for a number of years with her MC series as well as all of the other books that she has written and this book ranks with all of the others. This book is different from her other series with the this royal read and I enjoyed it from the start. Tristan was definitely the bad boy prince with a rebellious streak while Amelia was more reserved. Together, the pair have amazing chemistry as they learn to love each other with their arranged marriage.
Their story moved along well and had me hooked from the start once I re-familiarized myself to it from what I read of it when it was on Wattpad. I enjoyed it from the start and would recommend to to others as I await to see what happens next in this series.
While future king Tristen may be at the required age for marriage, he still has a bit of wild side and some unresolved feelings from his mothers death. Whether he is ready or not, he now has a bride. Only, she was chosen for him by someone else. But once he meets Amelia he wonders if this woman might truly be the best thing he never knew he wanted. Is possible for an arranged marriage to be more than a business transaction? Amelia and Tristen recognize they have chemistry, and they both want this to work. But, it’s never that simple. This book has a gorgeous cover! Royal Rebel is the first book in a new series from Laramie Briscoe.
Royal Rebel is a sweet story filled with a strong connection. Tristan and Amelia will be a force to be reckoned with. They are going to do great things as King and Queen. With their story being an arranged marriage, I am glad the chemistry was there between them. I can’t wait to see what happens in Royal Chaos.
***** 3.5 STARS *****
As much as I adore Laramie Briscoe, I’m not much into the royal romance trope and maybe that’s why I’m not as enthralled with this story as the other readers that received the ARC. However, I’m always if not honest in my reviews.
Royal Rebel is one for the sweet romance with pretty much low to little angst fans. It is a story about 2 people falling in love (pretty quickly) and how their relationship grew. Amelia was groomed from young to be the bride of the would-be King, although I find her sweet and amiable, she is no doormat and there were times when she does show her assertiveness. Tristan is our would-be King and he’s the Royal Rebel, a bit of a rake (in a good sense, not a manwhore). Eventhough Tristan always seem to be pushing boundaries he knew that it is his duty as the future King to accept the arrange marriage. I like that Tristan has a vision for his country, he seemed to want to be a really good King for his subjects.
This is a HFN as the ending leave us with a bit of a mystery. Don’t worry no major cliffhanger whatsoever. If you’re into sweet romance with very hot sexy scenes, this book is right up your alley. That limo scene … oh my …
One of the things I liked most about this book is that it’s a sweet, sexy, drama free read. Tristan is the Prince of a small European country. As is the tradition, he is to be crowned King and married six months after his twenty fifth birthday. The only catch, his marriage is prearranged. His future queen, Amelie has grown up knowing she could one day be queen, a role that she has been preparing for with both excitement and trepidation.
When Tristan and Amelie finally meet, they discover that they are compatible on every possible level. The book focuses on their growing relationship in the 6 months period prior to their wedding. I loved watching them fall in love. The book ends exactly one month after the nuptials and ends with a question mark. Book 2 in the series continues their journey. I hadn’t realized that this story would continue into another book and for that reason I’m giving it a four star rating. (I read an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.)
Well, this is different from Laramie’s work in my opinion. It’s a new series about a prince that’s about to take the throne and his betrothed. There is some suspense, but just a little, a lot of getting to know each other and a little steam. I can’t wait for the next installment of Tristan and Amelia’s story. I voluntarily received an ARC copy of this book and I am leaving my honest review.
For an arranged marriage book, this one has to be one of the best I’ve read. Amelia and Tristan are so cute together, and holy the chemistry is off the charts. Loved the change from bad boy playboy prince to respectable king. And Amelia is right there by his side the whole time. Can’t wait for more of these two in the next read
An arranged marriage. Love it or hate it, it is their reality, along with being thrust into the spotlight that comes with the throne. Hold on tight, it’s a heck of a ride.
I liked watching Tristan and Amelia not only come in to their own as individuals, but watching how their relationship evolved, how surprised they were when they realized their chemistry was off the charts, and how they didn’t even notice how they gravitated toward each other.
As always there are bumps in the road, things that they need to learn about not only each other but the past and how hard that is for them to share after holding it so close to the vest until now.
I’m curious to find out what happens next in Royal Chaos.
