Charlie Davenport is the bad boy of British tennis – and third in line to the throne. He’s a beast on the courts, and a wild animal in bed (according to all the tabloids). Girls are lining up for chance at his crown jewels, and when I stumble into the wrong Wimbledon dressing room and catch a glimpse of his game, set, AND match, I can see why.So what’s a little good luck kiss between … f̶r̶i̶e̶n̶d̶s̶ strangers?
I know better than to get involved with a bad boy like Charlie. But now he’s on a winning streak, he thinks I’m his lucky charm – and you know what’s luckier than a kiss?
Everything.
Suddenly, I’ve got paparazzi on my trail, exes coming out of the woodwork — and you don’t know ‘cutthroat’ until you’ve seen a pack of hungry socialites set loose near the Royal Family.
I’m in way over my head, and even worse – I’m falling in love. Can this American girl win her Prince Charming? Or will we both crash out of the championships in flames?
Wimbledon-meets-The Prince and Me in this hilarious, sexy new romance from Katie McCoy!

A sweet and sexy fairy tale. The story was well written and the characters were charming and lovable.
I can’t wait to see what Paige (as well as Emmy and Charlie) are up to in the next book in this standalone series.
It was ok. Not a book I typically read. Insta love and drama based on no communication, very predictable.
Forgettable, no surprises
A fun read although it has a predictable ending.
very entering
I liked this book. The only thing i did not like is the I love you after a week….
Royal Player by Katie McCoy is the first book in her stand-alone contemporary romance series, All-Stars . Told in dual POV between Charlie (the spare prince/Wimbledon tennis ace) and Emmy (the aspiring fashion designer/Wimbledon tea girl) this story is quirky, romantic, and fills the niche of pauper to princess love stories that we all secretly (or not-so-secretly) have wanted to happen at least once in our lives. I find I can really get into the light-hearted romance and writing style of this author and I thoroughly enjoyed this story. With just enough angst to keep it from being all fluff and no substance this was a fab book set in London and centering on Wimbledon. Enjoy!
OH WOW!! I loved this book so much!! I loved the characters, how they came to be, the sub characters, the storyline, EVERYTHING!!!
I loved how Emmy and Charlie met, and also how she was able to bring him down a peg or two!
I really enjoyed their story, and how they met at the match, and how they came to be.
Talk about a twist! I knew Zeke would be in on it somehow, but wasn’t sure. I was so sad for Emmy when that happened! Poor thing!!!
I felt every emotion and could see it playing out in my head. LOVED The part when he ran in the rain. Don’t wanna give too much away but I loved it!!!
So many great quotes to come from this book as well! Glad that Charlie’s brother came around in the end. I wonder if there’ll be a book about him even though I know this is all-stars. But something is brewing behind the scenes with him and his wife!
I can’t wait to read Paige’s story. Thank you for the preview at the back of the book Katie!
My fave quotes from the book
1. If I had tried to wear what she’s wearing, my big boobs and Kim K Butt would have made the whole thing look obscene. – I loved this so much!! I died laughing!
2. “You’re here less than twelve hours and you’ve already found your own Prince Harry.” She slapped me on the boob. “You suck.” – I really enjoyed Paige and Emmy’s friendship so much!!! LOL!
3. “No? Did your tongue just fall into his mouth?” – LOL!!! I love Paige so much. She’s so funny!!!
4. Sure, he kissed like a god – a fact my pesky nipples couldn’t seem to forget. – ROFL!!! Emmy couldn’t resist Charlie and neither could her nipples LOL!
5. Only this time Charlie was the hand, and he’d been grabbing a lot more than Fig Newtons. – ROFL!!!! He got his hand caught in the cookie jar, in Emmy’s that is!!!
6. We’d skipped past the whole “getting to know you” phase, right into the “long nights panting in each other’s arms.” – When Emmy realised what she had done with Charlie.
American says meet British royalty at Wimbledon? Can an american girl find her prince charming and try to escape the paparazzi? Loved the meet up for these two.
Charlie is Prince Charming all the way. I think I might watch a few mens tennis matches to see if there are some hotties on the court.
Emmy and Charlie are making full court magic and final score is love-love! Emmy is London Calling just like all in the movies she used to watch with mom. When her bestie Paige convinces her to come and spend the summer in London and work the world famous Wimbledon she cannot pass up the once in a lifetime opportunity. Sweet Emmy finds herself in the thick of tennis mania but enjoying the fun and hoping for an adventure and boy does she get it when a wrong turn lands her in a player’s lockers room where she comes face to face, and oh so much more ;), with a handsome tennis player who wants a good luck kiss. Little does she know this sexy stranger is none other than Prince Charles Davenport – third in line, tennis playing, bad boy. Charlie has always been the spare. Supposed to live his life quietly not making waves and be there in case of great tragedy. He bucks this tradition with great aplomb and lives his life on his term – much to his family’s chagrin. When a beautiful American Miss stumbles into his locker room and has no clue about his title or status he is intrigued. Emmy is unlike other girls that seem to only be with him for the exposure and headlines. With all eyes on them Charlie is more than happy to show off Emmy – but when a ghost from Emmy’s past comes back will they be able to stand up under the paparazzo scrutiny.
Hot read ! Great story, great characters!
I thought the book was well ridden.
I enjoyed the book the charters where very likeable
The Story kept up a pretty good pace without leaving some good stuff out. The ending was a tad abrupt .It could have been drawn out a bit more. Overall though, a really great read.
I loved the story behind this one. Smiled through the whole thong. The characters were great
I enjoyed this story but it was pretty predictable. Not like some of the other stories in this series.
Best I’ve read in quite some time. Looking forward to reading more of her work!
pretty unrealistic but a fun read
Easy reading but so unrealistic .
