From award-winning author Jenna Sutton comes a delightful duet of naughty novellas about two princes who discover that falling in love is messy… very, very messy. In Royal Match, Prince Leo’s icy demeanor has earned him an amusing nickname—the Polar Prince. Unfortunately, the king doesn’t see the humor. If Leo wants to secure the throne of Alsania, he must improve his image. Participating in … of Alsania, he must improve his image. Participating in an organ donation campaign seems like a good start. He expects to donate his organs on his deathbed, so he’s surprised to be matched with a complete stranger who needs his help now.
Tessa Lulach hates to admit it, but she’s a damsel in distress. When a handsome prince offers to save her with a hunk of his liver, she joyfully accepts. She can’t wait to feel like herself again and return to her beloved flower shop. Instead, her identity is revealed, and the quiet life she loves is turned upside down.
As Leo and Tessa deal with the nosy public and ruthless paparazzi, she realizes the Polar Prince is much warmer than he seems—scorching hot, in fact. He willingly gave her a part of his liver, but can he give her his whole heart?
In Royal Catch, everyone loves Prince Marco of Alsania, despite his reckless antics … or maybe because of them. So why does sexy schoolteacher Cassie Lulach prefer a boring investment banker over him? Wounded by her indifference, he has an erotic encounter with a masked woman at a royal ball who reminds him of the one he really wants.
After another failed relationship, Cassie is frustrated with immature, inconsiderate guys. Wanting to escape reality, she attends a masquerade ball and finds herself alone with a masked stranger. For the first time in her life, she acts on impulse, only to end up pregnant and absolutely clueless about the identity of her baby’s father.
When Marco learns of Cassie’s pregnancy and her plans to raise the baby alone, he promises to be there for her, hoping she’ll finally see him as more than just a playboy prince. But then he discovers she’s the woman from the masquerade ball and panics. Will the truth destroy his chance to win over Cassie, or will he convince her that they can have their own happily ever after?
Royal Mess is approximately 70,000 words. Guaranteed HEA. No cliffhangers.

Two Royally Good Novellas
Tessa and Leo, I liked their moniker of fire and ice. More importantly, how this touches on an incredible, tho somewhat unknown, but much needed system or registry for organ donation. Loved their droll humor, their heat and him being a regular guy in spite of his prince status lol.
Cassie and Marco def put the cart before the horse and what a web to try and untangle. I loved every minute of it, as these two started their journey.
The epilogues just made me sigh. I think this is a perfect summer read to go along with the real royal love we all recently witnessed
This is the first time I had read any books from this author. I received a copy of this book from InkSlingers as I will be sharing this book and review on my Facebook book review page. With all of the hype of the royal wedding, I figured this book would be like every other royal book. I was surprised with the storyline. It was a nice change to see Leo and Tessa meet as an organ donor. It was beautifully written and kept my attention until the end. I will be put more of Sutton’s books on my TBR list.
OH MY SWEET HEAVENS I ADORED ROYAL MESS BY JENNA SUTTON! We get TWO sigh/drool/heart bursting romances with Royal Mess and they were SPECTACULAR! I seen all the dreams I had as a kid about a prince coming to the rescue coming true in this AMAZING story. I fell in utter LOVE with both Marco and Leo. These two princes were incredibly different but they were both incredible stand up men and stunning heroes. And Cassie and Tessa were brilliant and strong heroines who deserved these two wonderful princes. Their stories are well thought out, will touch your hearts, make you believe in HEA and will make you fall in love with romance all over again. This is ONE OF THE MOST INCREDIBLE READS OF THE YEAR!
I haven’t read anything by Jenna Sutton before but after Royal Mess I am EAGER to check out ALL her books! I have never felt such…such completeness or hope or had my feelings that were so mushy as I did with this book. Its a great feeling and one I want to feel all the time.
Royal Mess gets a WILL LEAVE YOUR HEART SWOONING FIVE SHOOTING STARS!
I thoroughly enjoyed both stories about two princes, one destined to be King, the Polar Prince, who has a problem with his popularity numbers and likability with his people, and the Playboy Prince, the younger one who has impulse problems until he is falls in love with the one woman who does not want him. Leo was on the donor registry but didn’t plan on having to donate part of his liver while still alive, however, Tessa is dying of liver failure from an infection received when her doctor gave her an antibiotic her body could not process after cutting her hand. His popularity increases after the surgery but, of course, the King is not satisfied and wants more and leaks Tessa’s name so she will do a media tour. Leo and Tessa have already gotten close in the hospital but close quarters everywhere else will they find true love?
Marco has been in love with Cassie since he met her. Hard to believe since he is the playboy who cannot settle down but he has been celibate for nearly a year but she doesn’t want to give him the time of day. A mistaken identity hookup at the masquerade party leaves Cassie pregnant. When Marco figures out he is the father he does not give up until he convinces Cassie to marry him. He is over the moon with the thought of being a father but will Cassie feel the same?
Definitely recommend these fast paced stories that can be read in an afternoon!
Royal Mess by Jenna Sutton
Two princes marry commoners in this delightful royal romance duology! Crown Prince Leo, trying to improve his image, plans to donate a portion of his liver to a commoner only to end up parting with his heart as well. Of course Tess also ends up in love with Leo and there is a happily ever…in spite of a glitch or two.
Marco, the spare prince, falls for Cassie but is stymied by her boyfriend and seeming disinterest. When an opportunity for him to show Cassie that his playboy days are over they, too, end up with a HEA…did love the epilogue of this one with the white wolf and bumblebee masks 😉
Both are fun easy reads that left me feeling happy so if you are looking for a royal romance or two to pass the day – give these two a try. Oh, forgot to say, these princes are definitely human and oh so very very very enchanting 😉
Thank you to the author for the ARC delivered through NetGalley – This is my honest review.
4 Stars
Have read both books and loved them both!
Royal Mess is two Novellas in one book. I really enjoyed reading both books and now I can’t wait to read more fro this author about this family too. What isn’t to like a Prince who is to become king is featured in one of the novellas and the other is his playboy brother who gives up his playboy ways for the gal he falls in love with. We have a wonderful backstory about organ donation which is in itself so much need in one of the books and in the other we have a secret marriage/pregnancy. I can’t wait to explore more of this author’s books and see where she will take me.
Very enjoyable reading.
I enjoyed both of the books in the Royal Mess! Easy to read but didn’t have to read one to enjoy the other!
What an entertaining pair of books to read. Dealing with interesting issues and great characters.
really hot!
This book brings in Royal Match and Royal Catch and features the royal brothers, Leo and Marco. Double your pleasure in this two books in one. Well written with captivating characters and an enchanting storyline. I read a reader copy and voluntarily chose to write a review.
Royal Mess is two stories in one – Royal Match, the story of Leo & Tessa & Royal Catch. the story of Marco & Cassie. I loved them both. I’m a sucker for an HEA and this one had two HEAs but it was more than that. It was also well written & wove in real issues.
Royal Match is the story of Tessa, a woman with a rare blood type that needs a liver transplant & Leo, the prince that is trying to improve his image with the people of his kingdom by donating a piece of his liver to Tessa since he is a match. Tessa is a strong, happy woman, even in adversity, that begins to ‘thaw’ the princes heart. Their interactions made me smile & at times worry. Their chemistry was off the charts & had my tablet smoking.
Royal Catch is the story of Cassie, Tessa’s sister & Marco, Leo’s brother & ‘spare prince’. Marco was a playboy but changes his ways to try to win Cassie’s heart. Cassie is caring, loves being a teacher and doesn’t think the prince would be interested in het until one fateful nights events change everything. Cassie & Marco are great together as friends and then better as lovers.
Romance, comedic interactions, situations that pull at your heart, Royal Mess has them all. I would wholeheartedly recommend this book.
I’m really not a fan of the whole Prince/Princess story line especially with all the recent hoopala but this book had me changing my mind. Royal Mess is two novellas, Royal Match and Royal Catch. Royal Mess features Prince Leo Alsania and Tessa a florist shop owner and Royal Catch features Prince Marco and Cassie (Tessa’s sister). Each book has a unique story line. chemistry galore and more sexy steamy encounters than you can count. This is the first book I’ve read by Jenna Sutton but it certainly won’t be my last. This is definitely another author to add to the “must read” list.
I was given a free copy of this book from the author.
I absolutely love royalty stories. This is a good one. It seemed like a short read when I was immersed in the story. I had a few issues with some references in the story. So that knocked of a star for me. I thought the story as great, otherwise.
These two Princes are vastly different personality wise. They love each other and look out for one another though. It’s what I would think of how William and Harry are towards each other. One is series the other is the “playboy.” Sometimes those persona’s can bite them in the butt though…and boy can it.
The women in these stories are strong, no nonsense type sisters. They know what they want and they push through to their end goal. Though they didn’t consider it being brothers much less royalty!
I hope you enjoy Royal Mess. This book definitely can live up to it’s name. 🙂
Love in it’s finest moment. Jenna Sutton is a keeper. Royal Mess is a duet that pays homage to the classic fairytale, by putting it’s own spin on things. Love can happen at the worst of times. Tessa and Leo are proof that a little bit of faith can end up going the distance. Ms. Sutton keeps the dream alive with irresistible men (Princes no less) and ordinary women driven to face some extraordinary circumstances with their ability to love intact. Royal Mess is what humanity should be. A person willing to lend a hand to another in need.
Cute and sweet
I wish it didn’t have so much inappropriate language. I loved the story and plot, just not all the language.
Royal Mess
A Novella Duet
By: Jenna Sutton
Narrated by: Ava Lucas, Jason Clarke
Two novellas, two princes and two wonderful romances! I thoroughly enjoyed these stories by Jenna Sutton. The first one is Tessa and Leo. Leo is preparing to become king, but with his poor ratings, he needs to do something to become favored in the public eye. Tessa is in need of a liver transplant and who better to come to her rescue than a prince? This is a sweet romance! I loved the chemistry from the first meeting of Tessa and Leo discussing mustard! It’s a meltdown of the “Polar Prince’s” heart and will leave you swooning.
The second story gives us the second in line to the throne, Marco. He has been in love with Tessa’s sister for a while now, but has made no moves. Cassie has a one night stand and when she becomes pregnant, Marco is the one she can lean on. I loved their story, not only for their budding relationship, but for the way they are able to talk, and work through their uncertainty. Marco especially is a fun character who normally is full of confidence shows his more vulnerable side. Both brothers are easy to fall for and left me with a happy heart.
The narration of these two novellas brings royalty to life! You could not have a better voice to give us the confident princes than Jason Clarke. He gives Leo and Marco that regal feel, yet both are totally approachable. I love the way he gives them an emotional side making them seem so human! Tessa and Cassie need a voice that is strong and confident. Each have baggage coming with them into their relationships, but have definite ideas. Ava Lucas has a talent giving each their own style and personality, I love that she can make Tessa and Cassie stand on their own with inflections of their voices yet have a soft side as well. It’s a narration you do not want to miss!

This was a story with a wonderful basis; the life giving selflessness of organ donation. I applaud the author for weaving this into a romance story. This is a 2-story book that tells the tale of 2 sisters, Tessa and Cassie; both adopted by their parents and unrelated (as far as they know) to each other except for being adopted. The first story, Royal Match, is Tessa’s and her need for a liver donation; the second, Royal Catch, is Cassie’s and her unrequited love. The stories unfold in the fictional country of Alsania, ruled by a Monarchy.
I feel that the stories are well written, with somewhat well-developed characters, and a good story-line that flows well. These are shorter stories, novellas, that have to pack a lot into a little time. I was very happy that the author included epilogues at the end of each story so that we could have closure with the characters and are not left hanging to wonder what happens next. Truly my only complaint is that I found the use of explicit sex in the stories a little bit off-putting at times. Instead of enriching the story; I found that sometimes it felt almost forced. The physical acts could have been alluded too and still have had the same effect on the story. I am by no means a prude and enjoy a lusty sex scene as much as anyone else; but, only if it has a place in the story and flows well into it. That being said, is why I only give it 3 stars. I would have gone for 4 if there was more story and less sex scenes.
