A princess on the run finds her version of a prince in this epic beginning to the Tattered Royals stand-alone series. I never asked for my tiara. My dreams were always bigger than a palace. They’re as big as the world.Being fourth in line for the throne should have guaranteed me freedom.I thought I was one step from walking away forever, but a long-forgotten rule forces me to run instead.I refuse … away forever, but a long-forgotten rule forces me to run instead.
I refuse to marry a Duke and bear an heir to save our titles.
I trust my brothers to find a way to save my future, but first I need to save myself.
Only I never expected to meet danger…and Kannon Adams along the way.
I never asked for her.
My security business has secured all the clueless princess types I can handle.
Princess London Waterford of Alden is a whole other level of trouble.
Not to mention gorgeous and tempting as royal sin. Too bad she’s also in danger.
When the bullets fly, I trust no one else to protect her, even if she pushes me away.
Together, we must find who’s behind the threat to her life and try not to get caught in the crossfire.
One night together might never be enough, but if those who want her dead have a say, it’ll be our last.

“I walked away, leaving a part of myself behind and knowing I didn’t want it back. I had fallen again. I had made a grave mistake. And now I would have to deal with the consequences.”
Two fantastic authors in one book. I couldn’t have been more excited to get my hands on this beauty.
“She was a princess, and I was just a guy who had shown up in the right place at the wrong time. I hadn’t even been hired to keep her safe, but I’d be damned if I let her get hurt.”
I loved the dynamics of the siblings, bodyguards, angst between the Princess and bodyguard, friendships, humor, steaminess, twist in the plot and the blurb for the next Tattered Royals~Enemy Heir!
“His job. Got it. That’s what I was to him. A job. Nothing less and nothing more. And that’s exactly what I wanted.”
They both had duties that needed to be fulfilled. Past that kept them leaving a wall around them. Betrayal. Hope. Chemistry. Once you sit down with this gem you won’t want to put it down!
I read this from beginning to end in one sitting. It was an enjoyable read. I do have to admit that I figured out who the villain was before London left Alden. That was pretty obvious.
There was a good amount of sexual tension between Kannon and London. They had great chemistry, even if it was a kind of instalust/instalove situation. I found myself being increasingly irritated at Kannon blowing hot and cold.
When the culprit was revealed it was a bit of a let down because the reasoning was so obvious. It would have been interesting to know what would have happened when that person faced London’s brothers.
I am glad Kannon and London got their HEA with their not surprising surprise. I liked all of the characters. Hopefully there will be exciting adventures for the other potential couples. I am thinking Sparrow and Breck, Roman and Rian, maybe Lily and London’s friend Kate. Who knows? Maybe there will be someone knew and interesting for both Olly and Wilder. I am looking forward to future books in this series.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
“We started this journey a little off, and we both know it. But we’re here. We’re finding our way. I love you.”
Royal Line is a bodyguard and royalty romance. London is a princess escaping a grim situation back home. Still, she finds more danger out on her own. A chance encounter with Kannon, a security specialist with a lot of experience in protecting people like her, throws these two together in effort to keep her safe.
Kannon and London are pulled together as much as they try to push apart. I felt that both of them ran hot and then cold. Neither seemed to know what they want or were just too afraid to fight for it. Since that’s something I really like in a couple, I did get pretty frustrated with them sometimes. All in all, I just didn’t warm to the characters.
The steamy scenes were well written. The authors were spot on with the sexual tension and chemistry between London and Kannon. I just didn’t feel the actual mental/emotional relationship between them. Although I found it a bit abrupt, the ending was sweet. I am curious to see how London and Kannon work as a couple as well as what the stories are with the other characters, so I may continue the series.
In my opinion Royal Line has a lot of similarities to Noah/Lucia and Roone/Jessa stories. Those who don’t know these characters they are from the Shameful Series and Winston Isle Series. This is not a bad thing I loved both series but sometimes it felt like I was back reading those stories again. I loved London she is strong, intelligent and very humorous. I liked Kannon he is protective, smart but a little buttoned up for my taste. London’s brothers were annoying and very overbearing. Nana Malone and Carrie Ann Ryan gave me suspense, mystery and lots of action, all things I look forward to from both authors. I did figure out who was behind everything from the start, I’m okay with that, I still found myself sitting on the edge of my seat turning the pages. In my opinion this is a good start to Tattered Royals Series. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader’s copy.
I am a fan of both Nana Malone and Carrie Ann Ryan and Royal Line: A Tattered Royals Novel is a fantastic collaboration between these two amazing authors! They have seamlessly written a story with memorable characters that were easy to like, within an engaging storyline laced with danger, intrigue and those steamy moments with love so much.
A chance encounter, a princess in trouble and heart pumping chemistry between Kannon and London will keep your pages turning in this first book of what looks to be an exciting new series.
For Kannon, an easy, simple job guarding London has turned out to be so much more than simple or easy and for London, she has found her prince, not always charming, yet still a good guy, to be her knight in shining armor.
I am excited to see what is in store for the rest of this series!
A princes and a bodyguard? I love reading this kind of romance! I must confess I expected a spoiled princess, so imagine my surprise when princess London Waterford of Alden turned out as a young and determined woman, which wishes a true and ordinary life and has a dream to become a photojournalist. I really love when a member of a royal familly falls in love with an ordinary person on this kind of stories. It’s like a fairy tale about impossible love and both heroes have to work hard to make it possible.
Kannon on the other hand is a strong alpha male with troubled past. I don’t need to mention his thoughts about the princess were similar to mine at first, but with time he got to know the real London. She is the perfect medicine for him and for his guarded heart. He is pretty arrogant, determined, strong, possessive alpha male, ready to die while keeping his vow to protect the princess no matter the cost.
There is a strong chemistry between the main characters. They manage to overcome all their obstacles (you’ll have to read it if you want to know, what I’m talking about) which, of course, is followed by a happy ending.
These are the type of books I’ve come to expect from Nana. It’s nice to see two writing powerhouses come together to create a new series. In Royal Line, you get action, suspense, steamy scenes and a HEA and an epilogue!
When London is forced to go into hiding to avoid an archaic law, she never expected to have her world rocked. After being forced off the road, Kannon saves her and they are quickly attacked again.
When Kannon is out for a drive and sees an accident, it’s instinct to stop and help. Despite being in security and protection, he is still caught off guard by the princess and who would be after her.
Good start to a new series. I love that there were strong female characters. Definitely excited for the next book!
If you enjoy a high-quality Royal Romance then look no further than Nana Malone. When I first she was starting the new Royal series with Carrie Ann Ryan I got excited. The 1st book did disappoint. I don’t want to give away too much but London and Kannon were quite the pairing. Kicking off at the pair’s initial meeting I could already tell I would be in for a treat. London Waterford is the Princess of Alden and is fighting to find her own identity. Whereas Kannon has his own personal struggle while protecting the princess. The pair try to fight their growing attraction while trying to crack the case. Readers are treated to a wild ride through the book. I definitely have my lists of suspects. I will say I wanted to know a little more about certain characters. Overall, I did enjoy it. I know Sparrow and Prince Breck’s story is going to be a treat as well. Until then I will be patiently waiting for Book 2.
Great first book to this series!
Kannon and London meet under the most odd circumstances. Her being a princess, and him owning his own security business. There is an extraordinary pull between them. Neither thinks they are worthy of the other. Kannon must keep her safe, and not have a repeat of his past. I love these two characters and the way they are portrayed. Once I started this book I couldn’t put it down. I couldn’t wait to see what happened next. Good writers keep you on your toes within the confines of a book, just like Carrie Ann Ryan and Nana Malone do. I urge anyone to read this book. It is that good.
4.5 Stars for Royal Line ( Tattered Royals #1)
I love Carrie Ann Ryan and Nana Malone as individual authors so I was excited to see how their collaboration would work out and I wasn’t disappointed because was an entertaining read and a great start to the new series Tattered Royals. In this book we get to meet Princess London Waterford and Kannon Adams. London is fourth in line for the throne and has just found out her or one of her siblings must produce an heir before turning thirty or the family lose their right to the throne and to make matters worse she is the one being forced to marry. She decides her only option is to run….
On her way to a friends safe house she finds herself in danger and that’s where security expert Kannon comes in. Protecting the Princess is fine until feelings come into play but is Kannon brave enough to cross the line and find the happiness he deserves.
Royal Line is an entertaining, captivating read with characters that are easy to relate to, although they are sometimes frustrating, lots of sizzling chemistry and the perfect mix of passion and suspense.
A fast paced read filled with spunk, sass and plenty of action that keeps you on the edge of your seat. And let’s not forget the keeps you guessing who’s behind the chaos that brings London and Kannon together. From the very beginning there is chemistry between them. I liked how Kannon was having an inner argument with himself through out. We all know why it’s a bad idea for security to become involved with a client… (The Bodyguard, anyone) and it’s usually the female that’s flipping and flopping all over the place, but London isn’t that girl. She knows what she wants, a career, a sexy, alpha, sometime broody security expert. Too bad Kannon has ghosts that rear their heads when he starts to think it could work.
Will they finally be together, will the Waterford’s keep the throne, what doesn’t London know about what happened with the Council of Lords and who’s book will be next in line? I can’t wait to see where this series goes.
This was soooo good!
London, princess, baby sister to three regal brother, one of which is King….
Kannon, security specialist extraordinaire… broken hero the sure!
He seems to be in the wrong place right time!
I loved this story, the writing, the characters!! I cannot wait for the others stories!!! Soooo excited!
Highly recommend
Nana Malone
Carrie Ann Ryan
This was a good start to a series that will captivate many. Took awhile to fully connect as I wanted to shake either or both main characters at times, but the plot kept me turning the pages to get answers.
For most of the book you’ll nearly forget that this was written by two different authors, it was almost seamlessly done and I’m sure the few wrinkles will be ironed out by the next book, which I look forward to reading.
This is a great start to the Tattered Royals series. I really enjoyed the collaboration between Carrie Ann Ryan and Nana Malone in creating this intriguing, suspenseful and steamy story. Princess London Waterford of Alden is feeling stifled with her life within the castle. She wants to travel the world experiencing life as a professional photographer. When an obscure rule threatens all her plans, her loving and overprotective brother’s find a way to let her follow her passion. But when someone tries taking her life, she is suddenly saved by security specialist, Kannon Adams. Kannon feels responsible for the princess and becomes her bodyguard. As they get to know each other, their attraction grows and their chemistry is explosive. Kannon doesn’t feel worthy of royalty, and because of past heartbreak, pushes her away only to pull her back into his arms. But what happens when the threat to the princess catches up to them and puts all their lives at risk? I really liked London and how strong and confident she was. Kannon was wonderfully flawed and my heart broke for him. The push/pull of their relationship was frustrating at times but I still loved them for each other. This is witty, suspenseful and steamy story that will leave you begging for the next book!
I have been reading Carrie Ann for years now and I am a huge fan of her books, this is my first book by Nana and I adore her writing style already. They make a fabulous writing team. You get royals, lots of suspense and plenty of angst. I went through so many emotions. And the steamy scenes are great, keep a fan handy. I absolutely loved Kannon and London’s “meet cute”. I couldn’t put this book down. I’m excited to see what they bring us with London’s brother’s next.
Royal Line is the first book in the Tattered Royals series and combines the talents of two authors. I struggled a little at the start to connect with the characters and the storyline, which may have just been my mindset at the time. Once I was a few chapters in I was enchanted by these two. Kannon and London will at times frustrate you with the push and pull but the chemistry that lights up the pages between them will have you entranced. Their story has secrets, suspense, drama and underlying tensions. As the requirement to protect London becomes more of need and want to protect, emotions and feelings swirl around bringing hearts and confusion to the forefront. An action packed romance that will have you captivated and eager for more time with the other characters.
Kannon and London’s path collide when he finds her dangling for her life. She refuses to be one of those that falls for her hero. Kannon has no plans to love again, and he sure is not expecting London to steal his heart. London’s a princess, Kannon’s a protector. He has no choice but to make sure this sassy mouth, beautiful woman gets back home safely. When they meet, their adventure takes off. These two had me on the edge of my seat and the “OMG” moment was thrilling.
I love the supporting characters and cannot wait to find out each of their stories. The family dynamic that is created is appealing and has you invested in them. The royal lines and drama of good vs. evil are all over the book.
The partnership of Ryan and Malone is epic! They each bring their own uniqueness and style of writing to create a story with royal ties and nail-biting suspense. These two are queens but together they are taking writing to a whole new level. I cannot wait for the next book from this duo.
This series starts with the youngest member of the royal family of Alden, Princess London Waterford. As the fourth in line to the throne behind her 3 older brothers, she feels it’s a pretty safe bet that she can go live a “normal” life as a photojournalist with the occasional royal duties. On her 29th birthday, the aunt who raised them after their parents died in an accident, shares the news that there must be an heir born before she turns 30. Her brothers decide she should leave the country and lay low until her eldest brother, Roman, who is the king, can figure out a way to change the law with the royal council.
Off she flies to France where she’s promptly run off the road and left for dead until her unknowing knight in shining armor, Kannon, rescues her. He happens upon her car after finishing a security job and quickly realizes that she’s not just an accident victim, when bullets start to fly at them.
I enjoyed the quick-witted banter the two shared while he drove them to her friend’s country estate. There’s definite sparks flying between the two, but she tamps it down since he’s a stranger telling her what to do (like her brothers), and Kannon keeps reminding himself to see her as someone to protect rather than a romantic interest. His waffling back and forth throughout the story kind of bothered me, and some of the details surrounding their security team were also a bit “out of character”. For a minute, I thought Nana Malone was going to pull her characteristic cliffhanger on me, but then realized this was supposed to be a standalone story…which is was. With that said, breadcrumbs were left with potential storylines for her brothers and who their love interest might be.
4 stars!
Even though I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and devoured it in one day, I really struggled with rating it. I oscillated between 4 and 5 stars for a few hours before finally deciding on 4, and let me tell you why.
This was my first novel by both Carrie Ann and Nana Malone, so I didn’t have any expectations about their writing style. However, I am such a sucker for a royal bodyguard romance that I just had to pick this one up. The chemistry and sexual tension between Kannon and London was palpable and so hot, and I loved the push-and-pull of their relationship…for the most part. I found myself annoyed with Kannon after the third time that he pushes London away…which he repeatedly feels remorseful for. I understand that he has a lot of baggage and guilt he carries around, but I felt like the writers used his fickle nature to create unnecessary drama.
Nevertheless, I ended up really enjoying this novel! There was plenty of danger, sexiness, and yes drama to keep me interested, even though I figured out the villain in the first 7% of the book. Kannon was the perfect growly Hero, while London was the light to his darkness. I am so freaking stoked for Sparrow and Breck’s story next as even the little teaser we get at the end of book one has me invested and ready for more!
Royal Line is the delightful first in a new series featuring in this installment an emotionally crippled bodyguard and an orphaned princess who is the youngest and far down the line of succession. This is a check your brain at the door and kick back and enjoy escape. A sexy vacation for the mind.
